“Bara,” as the locals call it, is a natural swimming spot just outside of Sonta – tucked between fields and willows, where the plain meets the water and time slows down. 📍 You can reach it in about 20 minutes by bike from Sonta Coliving. For generations, Bara has been more than just a lake. Today, it's still a peaceful oasis for swimmers, fishermen, and weekend wanderers – a place for sunbathing, barbecues, good company, and memories worth keeping. Surrounded by acacia groves, old canals, and a poplar forest, it carries the scents of childhood, simmering stews, first kisses, and stolen grapes. Bara is just one of several swimming spots we visit during the summer. The official start of summer is just days away, but the heat has already arrived – bring your swimsuit – we still have some spots open until August 13. 📸 The photo was taken by a 12-year-old from the village, using a drone. We agreed to pay him a juice for the photo rights. Fair deal!

🎭 The first week of June in Sonta was all about theatre. The 11th edition of the Theatre Week festival took place, gathering performers and audiences from different countries – this year from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Italy, and Spain. The performances were held at the local Cultural Center, with a warm and diverse audience made up of locals and international guests. The atmosphere was lively, creative, and full of connection – just the way we love it here in Sonta. 📌 If you’ve been to Sonta Coliving before, you probably know that some of us are also involved in the local theatre scene – and this year, a few familiar faces from the coliving community were part of the festival, both on and off stage. 📅 The festival takes place every June, so if you're thinking of visiting, that might just be the perfect time to experience Sonta at its most vibrant. #Sonta #Theatre #coliving

Early May at Sonta Coliving: nature, theater, and community 💚 We had the pleasure of hosting a lovely eco-theater camp led by the informal group Eko-kulturalci. Young girls from different places gathered here to spend a few days creating, learning, and connecting — both with each other and with our village. Their main focus was theater — using it as a tool to explore environmental topics, emotions, and team spirit. They even worked on a performance inspired by their shared experience. 🌱🎭 As hosts, we just tried to keep the soup warm and the garden green. Thanks for bringing such beautiful energy to our space! 💫 Početak maja u Sonti: priroda, pozorište i zajedništvo 💚 Imali smo zadovoljstvo da ugostimo jedan divan eko-pozorišni kamp koji je vodila neformalna grupa Eko-kulturalci. Mlade devojke iz raznih mesta provele su nekoliko dana u Sonti stvarajući, učeći i povezujući se — i međusobno i sa lokalnom zajednicom. Fokus je bio na pozorištu kao načinu da se istraže ekološke teme, emocije i timski duh. Radile su čak i na predstavi inspirisanoj zajedničkim iskustvom. 🌱🎭 Mi smo bili samo domaćini — da supa bude topla, a bašta zelena. Hvala što ste donele ovako lepu energiju u naš prostor! 💫 Ova aktivnost je realizovana u okviru projekta EU Resurs centra za civilno društvo u Srbiji, uz podršku Delegacije Evropske unije u Srbiji.

Prethodnih dana Sonta je bila domaćin međunarodnoj ekipi – Lauri iz Španije 🇪🇸, Simoneu iz Italije 🇮🇹, Ani i Ivani iz Hrvatske 🇭🇷. Zajedno smo organizovali pripremni sastanak za omladinsku razmenu ACT Beyond Borders, koja nas čeka tokom 11. Nedelje pozorišta – u prvoj nedelji juna! 🎭 Tokom sedam festivalskih dana, Sonta i Apatin će ugostiti 26 mladih ljudi iz četiri zemlje, koji će zajedno stvarati, učiti i živeti pozorište bez granica. In the past few days, Sonta had the pleasure of hosting an international crew – Laura from Spain 🇪🇸, Simone from Italy 🇮🇹, and Ana & Ivana from Croatia 🇭🇷.
