Did you know that our body benefits from a diet that is based on what is available in our local environment?

This has a lot to do with the weather. People who live in hot areas will need a lot of fruit to stay hydrated and people who live in cold climates need more healthy fats.

Thst sounds simple, but what about those of us who live in not so extreme climates? 🤔

Each region has its gastronomic traditions and culture. These are made up of everything you need to keep a healthy body 🤸‍♂️

However, globalisation and modern life got us used to having food from other latitudes available out of season. But to what extent is that good?

One of the pillars of the #slowfood movement is based on consuming #local products and that also means seasonal. First because it is healthier. And secondly, because it brings benefits on the #localeconomy and reduces the #ecologicalfootprint that we leave on the planet ♻️

These loquats🥭 are an example of a product that we have around @islow.co at this time of year.

And you, do you consume seasonal products? Do you have a garden? What are the typical foods of the area where you are?

Tell us! We will read you in comments💬
