Fantastic place to relax by the pool between island activities. Everything was clean and available (kitchen, gym, etc.). Rebeca was super friendly and helped us with everything. Highly recommended.

The place is nice, very friendly, with a pool, a bar in the evening, and places to relax and eat. The room is basic. The bed is comfortable, but the linens are minimal. The sheet barely covers the mattress. There's mold on one wall. The curtains are difficult to open, and to top it all off, the window overlooks the clothesline and the weight room, making it impossible to open the windows. The room smells musty. The bathroom is acceptable, with a shower and a bathtub. Shower gel is available for purchase. It's a hostel. There's noise and music until 11 pm, but after that, people should respect others who are sleeping or need peace and quiet. The shouting, loud laughter, and chases right outside our door are unbearable, which, unfortunately for us, is just on the corridor leading to the dormitories. The shared kitchen is very useful. However, the location is really isolated, with nothing around, and it's a good 20-minute walk to the beach. There's a nice view in the distance. In any case, I won't do it again 😄 it's an experience worth having

Woow, what an experience, i'm super happy with my time i spend at the tree house. The rooms are very clean, you get a very good night sleep since they are very respecting the quiet hours. The whole place is very pretty an has awesome views. They organized a BBQ which was fantastic, you can meet alot of people. shoutout to the manager Rebecca and the loveley volunteer Vera, which made my time even better. And of course the Shuttler driver Facundo which does such a great job! thanks🙏🏻

The people are very nice. The staff is very helpful. It's a bit far from everything and quite windy. But I slept well even though there were several people in the room.

A complete disaster. I stayed here because I trusted the reviews, and honestly, it was the worst. The first day I arrived, the receptionist didn't speak Spanish, only English. She didn't even know where my room was or where the keys were to check in. I understand she might have been working there for a short time, but it was a disastrous first impression, and I think it's wrong that they don't serve you in Spanish, as if the Canary Islands were part of the UK. Secondly, the room was extremely dirty. There were hairs on the sheets, and the bathroom was quite moldy and dirty. Thirdly, and no less importantly, a couple of times when I left my room, I saw people smoking marijuana by the pool, and nobody said anything to them, they weren't told off, and nobody seemed surprised. Where are we headed, considering this is considered normal in accommodation? I'm not giving it a zero because the receptionist, even though she didn't speak Spanish, was at least pleasant, but I think it's a disgrace and a complete disaster of a place to stay. Oh, and lastly, the pool had somewhat murky water, and the location was terrible, as you have to make U-turns on the motorway to get there and to leave because it can only be accessed from the TF-1 towards Santa Cruz, and be warned that to leave, Google Maps takes you along a road that isn't even a road, it's a ravine full of holes in the ground where it almost wrecked the rental car.

My boyfriend and I had an excellent experience from the very first moment, starting with the shuttle pickup by the legendary driver Facundo, and continuing until our arrival at the hostel, where we were greeted by the amazing manager. Rebecca is the ray of sunshine of the hostel: friendly, helpful, and incredibly versatile. Congratulations also to Candela for her warm hospitality and availability, and to Rosa for her genuineness and professionalism. We felt so comfortable that we decided to return for another week, and once again we received the warmest welcome. A very special thank you to the entire team.

The location is perfect, away from the town so you have complete peace and quiet. About a 20-minute walk takes you to one of the best coves in the area. The rooms are clean, as are the bathrooms and all the common areas. The pool is in perfect condition for a refreshing dip at any time of day. But if there's one thing that truly stands out about this place, it's the staff. Jana, Candela, Hafssa, and Rebeca are the people I interacted with, and from the very first moment, they made me feel right at home and were always available. Without a doubt, a place to return to.

Not as nice as advertised online, both in terms of accommodation quality, cleanliness, and overall vibe. The Instagram presence sells a cool, social atmosphere that isn’t really there — it mostly seems to be the volunteers socialising among themselves, rather than an inclusive guest experience. Cleanliness was a major issue throughout our stay. The kitchen was extremely dirty, with flies everywhere, cats on the counters and going through trash. While the hostel frequently replies to reviews emphasising cleanliness, this doesn’t appear to have been meaningfully addressed. A business cannot rely solely on guests to maintain hygiene — if this fails, staff should ensure shared spaces are properly cleaned for the next paying guest. The reliance on volunteers noticeably affects the atmosphere. Cleanliness felt superficial, and communication in the WhatsApp group came across as passive-aggressive (e.g. messages about leftover food, kitchen cleanliness and hair dryers). The overall vibe felt more like a student accommodation than a professionally run hostel. The location is nice if you want somewhere remote and quiet. However, during several days of heavy rain there was no covered communal space apart from the kitchen, so guests were mostly stuck in their tiny dorms. Quiet time is officially 11pm, but this wasn’t enforced. On Friday night, volunteers were hosting a concert that continued till 1AM, when a guest complained. There is clearly effort put into organising events, but most of them were cancelled due to low interest from guests.

The Tree House is a wonderful place to stay. It's a place where you can find a balance between rest, activity, and work. There are numerous activities you're free to participate in. The volunteers are happy to guide you, and I really enjoyed the free yoga, power yoga, and sunrise yoga led by experienced volunteers. The Tree House has a large kitchen where you can cook your own meals, indulge in cooking for new friends, or... let the hostel volunteers pamper you from breakfast to dinner. For me, this hostel is fantastic, with its large, beautiful outdoor area and swimming pool, along with the fact that each room has its own bathroom. I love it and I'll be back 😉😊🥰

Without a doubt, the best hostel on the island. Beds with good mattresses, curtains for privacy. Huge kitchen, swimming pool... Perfect for long stays. A little out of the way, but if you like peace and quiet, even better. The staff is wonderful. 100% recommended

I have to say, for me, this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I've been there twice so far and I'll definitely be back! All newcomers receive a really warm welcome and are immediately integrated into the group. Both the other guests and the volunteers are so great! I made some really nice new connections. The rooms are perfectly fine, and each room has its own bathroom. There are seating areas outside the rooms where you can have some peace and quiet, and for me, the saltwater pool, the pool table, and the bar were particular highlights. Every evening, we all sat together and chatted, played pool, or played ball in the pool. A wide variety of activities are organized every day, such as yoga, gym classes, BBQs, karaoke, surf lessons, and more. I'm truly impressed with the hostel and really sad that I'm not there anymore.

Definitely worth it! Beautiful view from the terrace (with pool!) over the sea. The location is unique. With free shuttle or a nice walk you can easily reach nearby beaches and explore the surroundings. The employees are super nice, lots of activities happening 😊 Big thanks to the Manager Rebeca, she made me feel at home from the very first moment!

As a frequent hostel traveler, I can say that this is, without a doubt, the best hostel in Tenerife. The facilities are spacious and very well maintained, offering solutions for every need, and there are always activities planned for guests to enjoy and get to know each other. This was by far the worst hostel experience I have ever had. First of all, I got bed bugs. My skin is having a horrible reaction — red, itchy spots that kept getting worse and even bled when scratched. I’m so angry! This alone is already unacceptable, but unfortunately it was only one part of the nightmare. The room was incredibly dirty, far beyond anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve stayed in hostels all across Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, and this was by far the worst experience. The property looks nice from the outside with the pool and all, but don’t let that fool you. Inside, it’s chaos. The kitchen is disgusting. Every time people cook, they leave everything behind — food scraps, spills, and even cracked eggshells all over the floor. Half of the food ends up on the ground, and nobody cleans after themselves. It genuinely looked worse than a dumpster. I also saw rats inside the room, walking around openly. Completely unacceptable and unsafe. Between the rats, the filth, and getting bed bugs, this was the most shocking hostel stay I’ve ever had. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone, not even to my worst enemy. If you’re looking for something affordable or thinking of working remotely, please do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

My stay here has been incredible, but what truly makes the difference is her. I've stayed at this hostel and everything has been great, but I want to give a special shout-out to Rebeca, because her presence completely transforms the experience. She has a natural gift for making you feel at home: her service is impeccable, warm, friendly, attentive to every detail, always looking out for each and every guest 🤍. I got Bed Bugs from one night of staying at this hostel (November 2025). Staff was nice though

I was very happy with how beautiful the hostel is and its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I must say, though, that most of the information was in English, and being in Spain, it felt strange to see so many signs and information in English. For me, the best part of my experience was the receptionist/manager, Rebeca, who resolved all our questions and problems. Specifically, since I like to sleep in on vacation and the curtains in my room let in a lot of light, she handled it quickly and with the best attitude. I hope the curtains are bigger for my next trip! She deserves a 10/10.

Amazing hostel!!! Very well-equipped, with a large space, a pool, and a cool atmosphere. The rooms were full of thoughtful touches for our arrival, and we were surprised by the number of activities they offered. We loved it!! The decor was on another level for a hostel. The murals, the pool, the cool vibe throughout the place. The rooms had personalized touches that made us feel welcome from the start. The only downside I'd say is that it's amazing how well the hostel runs with just one manager. Especially since she was the one looking after all the volunteers, making sure everything was in order, and always had the best attitude.

Great stay, location is a bit off, but the free shuttle service works pretty fine. Staff is friendly, big thanks to Jana for the delicious breakfast and and the warm welcome by Rebecca. Even though there is no actual restaurant, they often offer cooking together which is very convenient. Still you should know it‘s important to bring some groceries when arriving at the place, especially when you arrive late. Can definitely recommend for working from here, there are two coworking spaces and an extra private office that can be reserved for free. Would come back 👍🏼

Great hostel! It's really nice and enjoyable to spend time there and spend evenings outdoors with others. The energy is very positive. Targeted shuttle services for going to the grocery store or for other needs are also available.

With a car, you can do everything, like going to the beach in just five minutes, or shopping, etc. The people here are unique, with a great vibe. The experience at the Tree House was wonderful. The management team, Rebeca and Jana, made it a very comfortable stay. The common areas were very spacious for sharing, and both the cleanliness and order were very attentive. The hospitality of the volunteer team was the highlight of these days, inviting us to participate in daily activities to explore the island and share with friends. I recommend this place both for coworking and for a few days of vocations. The only thing I disliked was that there is no security at night to monitor and control noise and belongings in both the kitchen and the rooms. Anyone can enter the hostel through the parking lot. After all, everything was excellent: the service, the tranquility, and the shared space. Thank you for your good vibes and your comfortable company 😊

Honestly, I don't like to rate establishments poorly, but this is about prevention. A hostel that sells dreams... first of all, I was forced to leave because I was bitten by bedbugs. Speaking with the only travelers in the hostel, I understood that they didn't change the mattresses, only the sheets, and that they waited for a dorm to empty before moving in a new arrival. To my knowledge, dorms 2, 3, and 4 were infested. Be careful, there are no refunds if you leave early, and there's no compassion for the volunteers. They charge you 4 euros to do a washing machine (which is itself in a truly disgusting state), and that's it. As for the rest of the hostel, I think it depends on the volunteers on site. Personally, they weren't exactly aggressive about cleaning, and most of them weren't very pleasant to the travelers. Finally, they sell you a hostel where they offer activities every day. I'm still waiting for them, but nothing happens in the end. They tell you at check-in that the bar is open every night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.... that's not true; it only opened once because I had to ask. In short, the photos look great. I think it was a very good hostel at the time since it was recommended to me, but between the bed bugs and the bad energy of most of the volunteers, you can find much better hostels near El Medano. However, Rebecca, the manager, was very nice and welcoming! I hope she takes the reviews into account and does what's necessary to restore it to a standard equal to her reputation. Note: rent a car because you're a 35-minute walk from the nearest villa and there's nothing nearby (no beach, no shops, etc.).

10/10, lovely place, lovely people. All the staff are welcoming. Would recommend a car, but if not, they do have a shuttle service which is great. I will be back!

The place is amazing. I love the space and the activities. I highly recommend it for working in a nice place or for a vacation.

I stayed at this hostel for several days and absolutely nothing was right. The kitchen was disgusting, from the fridge to the floor, with a mountain of dishes constantly piling up in the sinks. Cats roamed freely and emptied the trash (which is supposed to be different colored for recycling, but everyone just threw it away). The yoga equipment, which consisted solely of mats, was in tatters and covered in dust. The floor of the terrace where we practiced was filthy and dusty. Plus, there were bedbugs in several rooms (a common problem there, according to previous guests), and they only offered us a free laundry service. It's unbelievable; rooms remain occupied even when infested, and people with bedbugs move from room to room.

There are some very nice volunteer women who do help and make your stay more comfortable.

I honestly didn’t want to write a negative review, but after what happened (and especially after how management handled it) I feel people should be warned.||When we arrived, we were told there was “quiet time” between 11 pm and 8 am. In reality, that was a joke. Staff and guests partied, shouted, smoked weed, and drank until 4 am every night. One morning someone even vomited in their bed, not exactly the peaceful retreat it claims to be. The property is in the middle of nowhere, with a construction site nearby. I understand the concept of being “a sanctuary from the world,” but constant noise defeats the point.||Drinking water wasn’t always available. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a long-running problem they keep saying they’ll fix but never do. There are feral cats (which I personally like), but they often jump on counters and eat guests’ leftovers. Many guests don’t clean up after themselves ( dishes piled up, food left out, and even our food boxes were moved or used by others.)||The worst part was the bites. After the first night I woke up with itchy, painful welts. At first I thought it was mosquitoes, but there weren’t any. After the second night I had even more bites. On the third night, I found a bed bug in my bed at 1 am. That was it. I grabbed my things and spent the night outside on a bench because there was no way I could sleep in that bed. People were still partying loudly while I sat there until 6 am.||In the morning, I went to reception, spoke politely to the manager, told her I was leaving due to the bed bug infestation, and asked about a refund. She told me I’d need to go through Lastminute.com, gave me €4 to wash our clothes so we wouldn’t carry bed bugs to our next hotel, and advised me on shuttle times to leave that day.||To my shock, when I requested a refund through Lastminute.com, they told me the hostel claimed they “didn’t know I left” , which is completely untrue. Not only did I tell them, but they didn’t even go to the room to deal with the infestation, nor did they warn other guests in the same room. It seems they only act when people complain, and even then, they avoid responsibility.||The only positive experience was with Facundo, who drives guests to shops and the bus station. He was polite, helpful, and saved us when we got lost.||I didn’t expect five-star service, it’s a hostel, after all, and I could tolerate the noise. But bed bugs are unacceptable anywhere, and the dishonesty about my departure is the final straw.

I came here to do something different from my usual routine. Although the place is a bit out of the way, I enjoyed the great atmosphere, the nice people I met, and I loved the experience.

I absolutely loved our stay at Tree House Hostel in El Médano. We went on a trip with friends, and as soon as we arrived, Rebeca helped us with everything: rooms, a tour of the hostel and the island, the staff were very attentive, and the common areas were clean and tidy. They offer all kinds of leisure activities, as well as transportation services, and the atmosphere is relaxed yet fun and welcoming. This house is truly 5 stars! I love everything about it! From dorms, privates, social activities, quietness, chilling by the pool, the free bus shuttles, the working space, private office, the kitchen, the gym, the view, the staff, the volunteers… you name it! Rebecca was an absolute star at reception, so helpful and kind, always making sure everything run smoothly and that guests are happy. I would definitely stay again. Clean and very pleasant. I stayed a couple of days at the hostel, and I loved it. A great price for my single room, with two beds, my own bathroom, very spacious, with good views, and plenty of room. The manager (Rebeca) helped me with a problem I had, being incredibly helpful. Always with a smile. Always with a solution. There's a lively atmosphere until 11:00 PM, and then you can get some rest. I would definitely return because of the facilities, as it has parking right at the hostel, but what truly makes the difference is the heart of the place: Rebeca. A true professional within the more relaxed and friendly hostel concept, she welcomes you and helps you with everything. I will definitely return, as it's affordable and they offer a great experience.

Storage was well thought out and clearly labeled, which helped keep things organized even with a lot of guests using the space. 🏊 Nice Extras The pool was clean and well-maintained—it was cleaned twice during my two-week stay. Also, the vending machines were surprisingly useful, stocked with basics like snacks, coffee, toothpaste, and even lighters. 💬 Easy to Meet People The hostel has a welcoming vibe. Volunteers are around and genuinely helpful. People were friendly and open to conversation, which made it easy to connect with others. I met some great people to explore the area with and have interesting conversations. 🎉 Events Without Pressure The hostel organizes optional events that are actually enjoyable. I joined a few BBQ nights, a stargazing trip with a telescope, and an excursion to a hidden beach with caves. They were well-organized and a good way to spend the evening without needing to plan everything yourself. 🙌 Shoutout to the Staff Mariana, Rebecca, and Viki stood out—they were consistently kind, approachable, and made the place feel more personal. You could tell they cared about guests having a good experience. Love you guys! 💖 🚌 Helpful Shuttle Service The free shuttle that runs a few times a day to the bus station, supermarket, and nearby town was really convenient—especially since I didn’t rent a car. It saved a lot of time and effort. Truly a beautiful place, the nicest place we've ever been. Beautiful little pool. Superb ocean view. On weekends, there are organized parties with DJs. The only thing missing is food and drink. But it's a Nest Hotel, so you can do your shopping beforehand and cook and store all your things on site. Honestly, for me, the best Nest Hotel on the island. And kudos to Ana and Rebecca, who do a great job because the others are pretty unpleasant.

In short, poor service, rudimentary facilities, and a complete lack of respect and consideration for others. In our room (7), we found the entrance covered in cobwebs, used razor blades in the bathroom, and the bathtub water was teeming with tadpoles as soon as we let the water run. Worst of all, there was absolutely no noise control; supposedly, silence is required by 11:00 PM, but unfortunately, the noise didn't stop until 2:00 AM (very loud conversations, people running around, laughing, and generally making a racket). The saddest part of all this is that when we mentioned the noise issue at checkout, we were met with, "And they didn't say anything to you? Well... We're sorry." In short, I won't be returning, and I certainly won't recommend it.

As experienced travelers, we were looking for a place to unwind after a day of wandering. The hostel was anything but. The drunk, testosterone-fueled, loud, and inconsiderate young men were a constant source of annoyance. Some of the unpaid staff happily joined in, offering the aforementioned troublemakers the opportunity to amplify their music throughout the day and well into the evening. If it had to stop there...okay. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. The night we decided to leave went like this: Around 10:30 PM, we quietly went to our room (9) to read a bit. Loud techno music resonated across the terrace and was so pervasive in the room that wax earplugs offered no relief. Around 11:15 PM, a staff member had the sense to take away the large speaker. (There were some very nice and attentive people on the team at that time.) So far, so good. At 2:45 a.m., there's loud talking in the hallway, between clearly drunk young men and drunken, giggling women. The shouting continues until 3:30 a.m., when I decide to leave my warm bed to say something. The door to their room is wide open, and the drunken man stands half-naked over a young woman. I won't go into details. I get an aggressive response, but the noise subsides, and I go back to sleep. At 4:45 a.m., however, the young man in question is back at his own door, knocking loudly to get in. I suspect his companion has fallen asleep in a coma. The knocking continues for quite some time. At 8 a.m., after about five hours of seemingly sleeping, I get up and see the young man sleeping off his hangover on a bench on the terrace. Marginal. When we lodged our complaint at reception, we received a rehearsed "Yes, I understand" and a dose of feigned empathy. Because sleep is important, and that's ultimately what a hostel is for, we decided to leave after three terrible nights with a similar scenario. We would have stayed another four nights otherwise. Reading the other negative reviews, I'm seeing similar stories. Our contact with Booking.com revealed that our four nights would not be refunded. Moreover, we had to look for another place to stay. This is not the promised co-living, co-working oasis of tranquility. Quite the opposite. Given that we haven't received a refund, the landlord is clearly at fault, and the few friendly employees who work there for free for 25 hours a week, I can only conclude that the owner is only doing this for profit. Therefore, don't believe the sales pitch and stay away from this place. We will continue to talk to Booking.com to possibly get a refund.

My stay at The Tree House Hostel was an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, with guests from all over the world creating a lively and international vibe. The hostel does not offer meals, but there's a communal kitchen where you can prepare your own food. They also offer breakfast for 5 euros with several options, and the avocado toast was my favorite. It's important to note that only card payments are accepted for room bookings, while cash is needed for the bar and other expenses. The hostel also provides a shuttle service to the nearest town for shopping, which is convenient as the nearest store is about a 20-minute walk away. One downside is the noise from airplanes, as it's close to the flight path. Additionally, if you're sensitive to noise, you might be bothered by the loud music played for many hours during the day, and this hostel may not be suitable for kids. Highlights: there are plenty of communal activities like surfing trips and BBQ nights, which enhance the social experience. Lastly, the hostel offers work-friendly spaces with free Wi-Fi, making it a good option for remote work. Overall, I absolutely loved staying here and highly recommend it!

The hostel is located in a remote area; about 6 km from the airport and about 3 km from San Isidro but the distance is no walkable as there is only a highway. The property has a great and spacious common yard with a swimming pool and a nice view. Fully-equipped kitchen is available; despite that the personnel keep cleaning on a daily basid, the guests do not clean afrer themselves and in the mornings is a mess. There is a common working space where you are supposed to be able to work. The bedrooms are spacious enough; beds and pillows are comfortable. Personnel is friendly and helpful There is a free ride from the hostel to the nearest village where there are numerous grocery stores; Cons: The internet is extremely slow, and at times even non-existent, so working is barely possible. In our bedroom there was no hot water As the rooms are located around the yard, it is rather noisy and sleeping is difficult Locationwise, I do not recommend it to anyone who will not rent a car as you will be basically stuck there.

I was at The Tree House solely for the co-working space offer. The arrangements made in advance for a possible booking were very friendly and good. Unfortunately, the co-working space did not turn out to be what I expected based on the description. The space itself is unfortunately not furnished to a high standard, there is no possibility of “retreat” e.g. for important calls or the room provided for this purpose was completely occupied and locked and used like a private room by the person who completely occupied the room. Overall, there was little to no working atmosphere, young men in swimming trunks, loud music, vacation atmosphere. All perfectly ok if it's not co-working. Concentrated work was absolutely not possible. For the sake of completeness, I would also like to point out that the wi-fi was not stable. All in all, an absolute failure. No recommendation.

Charging 10-20 € for “late check in “ is ridiculous, never heard of a hostel closing at 9 and charging that much to move a finger for 2 minutes, or how do you explain a 25-40% price difference for coming some minutes late? I'm very sorry to write this kind of review, but my experience wasn't positive. I'm adding some information that isn't clearly available on the website because it might be helpful. - The hostel is located in a place that's difficult to reach without a car; there's a shuttle service with inconvenient schedules. - The hostel doesn't have a bar that also serves food, so it's best to bring your own cooking supplies. Regarding the overall experience, the facility is very quiet and fairly clean, although a bit rundown. Unfortunately, I also had a negative experience with the airport shuttle service, which, if it's outside of normal hours, charges €15 for a five-minute ride. In my case, even though I'd been informed the day before that I could pay electronically, when I picked up the shuttle, I was very rudely informed that I'd have to pay in cash. Since they didn't have cash, they took me to an ATM and had me withdraw some money (I almost missed my flight). My overall experience wasn't the best, but I may have just been unlucky, given the numerous positive reviews.

A cool place, ideal for chilling but also for partying 🍹🍸. We only spent one evening there, from September 28th to 29th, as a stopover before returning to France, but we really enjoyed it. The reception staff and residents are lovely. A special mention for Elsa 😉, she's fantastic!! She did everything to make us feel comfortable, and we thank her so much 🙏. We'll gladly come back.

So I booked a place at this hostel last minute since I'm already travelling around Spain. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency and was rushed by an ambulance to the hospital. Doctors said I need to be repatriated with a medical escort so that's how serious my condition is. I sent a message to this property and explained the situation. Unfortunately, they didn't want to refund my money since it's just about an hour or 2 away from the 48 hours free cancellation. They even told me that if I leave a comment which is defamation in their opinion, would not be appreciated but their future customers. The reason reviews are created is to educate future clients about their experiences in a property. Everything I said are facts and not a form of defamation in any way. I just with the owner of this small family business won't suffer from any life threatening condition anytime soon and no one will be kind enough to help them because of their greed. Stay away from this property! If you encounter any issues, especially emergencies that are life-threatening, they won't even care or worry about you. They just want your money

Really nice hostel, in a quiet chill location. Having a car on the island in general seems like a good idea, and the free parking is super handy. It is a little tricky to find at first, but you will get a good describtion of the exact location. It's a good standard hostel concerning cleaniness and noise - it is a hostel after all and if you don't know this before going, well that is not their fault. Nice social vibes too, espacially travelling as a solo woman. If I come back to the island I will stay here again :)

Too far from the city, dirty towels, cheap materials, construction workers stalking from the window, rooms too hot and noisy, dirty pool. Walk from the city back to the hostel in the night was not pleasant as the road does not have lights. Not the experience I was expecting from the other reviews.

This place is something else... my first ever stay in a hostel and turned out to be one of the best stay of my life. Let's make it clear and honest. I have made friends for life and met some amazing people from all over the World. I will definitely come back and would highly recommend this place for adventures and open minded people. If you looking for a quiet stay and lack of noise it might not be for you. So that's negative ratings and comments are all about, I highly recommend this place for anyone but its just not for everyone. Overall my experience was awesome! A nice hostel for open-minded people

My friend Marcel had a terrible experience at this place. He had serious problems with an Italian man who has lived there for a long time. This man barged into Marcel's room while he was resting, threw a flip-flop at his face, and even spat in his face… It was a very unpleasant atmosphere. My friend felt threatened and had to leave immediately.

The building itself was good and the layout was amazing and supplied Wi-Fi, beds were comfortable enough for short term, they had a WhatsApp group for the car shuttle into places The staff were brilliant and spoke English which helped me The location was terrible, middle of nowhere it’s not walkable into the town or anything! The road is paved down so far then stops into a dirt road! They did put a shuttle service on into the nearby village, the actual bus service was cheap enough to go into the main tourist area and airport!

It's a nice hostel but there isn't a Italien Guy staying for long-term...he think he own the hostel and is the loudest snoring person I met.. it's very sad that they let sleep him there Couse that's also mean's that there are every night 5 guest who don to get any sleep... By far the best hostel in El Médano. A wonderful terrace with pool and ocean view, great staff and a friendly atmosphere. Activities and common dinners are organised every other day and make a great opportunity to find friends for the stay. A well equipped and spacious kitchen invites to cook together and spend the evening. Other amenities are great too. Even an outdoor gym is available and there is enough space to care for surfing or kiting equipment. The location is a little bit away from the town centre though. Anyways, this makes for a closer community with the other guests and easy onsite parking. The shuttle van will take you to the surrounding areas if you don’t have your own car. Highly recommend to stay here if you are in Tenerife!

An unforgettable experience. I stayed at the Tree House for almost two months and truly felt at home. The property is equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, while the shared kitchen is very large and well-organized. A fantastic experience! I stayed at the hostel for 10 days, and the staff was always friendly and ready to help with any issues. The location is perfect, close to the airport and the beach (and there's even an indoor pool). It's very spacious, so everyone can find their own space. I'll definitely be back!

The facilities are decent, the staff is friendly, and the hostel has a very nice outdoor area with a pool, etc. Currently, due to roadworks on the upper streets, it's only accessible via a detour. You can get information about this from the owner in advance via WhatsApp or similar. To avoid Google Maps always leading me to the same blocked street, I marked the hostel down by the detour and always turned uphill from there – just a tip :-)

I recently stayed at Tree House Hostel, attracted by the promise of a co-living and co-working experience in a tranquil location. While the hostel does have some positive aspects, there were notable discrepancies between the advertised concept and the actual experience. Positives: Scenic Location- The hostel is situated in a charming, out-of-the-way location with a nice pool and outdoor space, providing a serene environment. Areas for Improvement Misleading Co-Working Concept- The primary reason for my choice was the co-working aspect, but the reality fell short of expectations. The two designated workspaces were consistently noisy, no private space to take calls (as advertised) and unfortunately, there seemed to be a misalignment in conveying the co-working concept among both workers and volunteers present. Lack of Amenities- The advertised audio/visual equipment for hire was not available during my stay. Additionally, they advertise access to free drinking water, however the water filter was broken, leading to a constant shortage of drinking water, a crucial amenity that was highlighted in the hostel's offerings. The workers would arrange to go get bottles, but there were many points in the day when there was shortage. Missing Perks- The absence of complimentary coffee (as advertised), as well as the promised activities, detracted from the overall experience. These were important features for someone seeking a co-living environment, and their absence was disappointing. Hygiene Concerns- The cleanliness of the hostel was subpar, and while the volunteers were amiable, there seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm or commitment to ensuring a clean and comfortable space for guests. Organizational Issues- The hostel appeared to lack organization and team communication, both in terms of managing expectations and offering a consistent experience. This was evident in the miscommunication regarding the co-working facilities and the overall lack of structure in providing the promised activities. Conclusion- Tree House Hostel has the potential to be a fantastic retreat, but it is essential for the team to reevaluate and redefine their concept. Consistency in communication and expectations among staff, volunteers, and guests is crucial for a successful co-living and co-working space. While the volunteers were friendly, their commitment to providing a well-maintained environment seemed to be lacking. I brought my concerns to the attention of the manager during my stay. There appeared to be a lack of interest in finding compromise or solutions to address the issues I raised. Despite highlighting the challenges, there was no offer of a refund, which I found disappointing, especially given my decision to cut my stay short due to the unmet expectations and inability to carry out my work tasks at the hostel as intended. In response to my concerns about the noisy, interrupted co-working spaces, the management did attempt a makeshift solution by providing an old screen for my work area. While this was appreciated, the promised efforts to reduce noise in the co-working spaces did not yield significant improvement. Consequently, I found it necessary to depart earlier than planned, impacting both my work and overall experience. I hope this feedback serves as constructive criticism to help Tree House Hostel improve its offerings and provide a more accurate representation of what guests can expect.

This hostel is all about making money. They will try to get money from you wherever they can, while you already pay top price for a bed. The showers were disgusting and full of half empty bottles, the duvets had a weird smell (and my friend's sheets had stains on them). Every morning you're woken up by either by people jumping on the roof (yoga?) or the construction work going on next door. The staff wasn't very friendly either, especially the American girl. (Except Andrew, he's lovely). I wouldn't stay here again. The walk into town isn't worth it, too far.

I came to this place for the first time last year and returned again this year. What can I say? It's a truly extraordinary place, completely different from other hostels. The staff, the people who "live" there, and the various activities available make this hostel incredible. I was very satisfied with the staff, because even though I spoke little English, they were able to help me with all my requests, given that the staff includes people from all over the world. if you are looking for a place to spend time in peace this is the place for you. Here I found the right balance between work and fun. There is a lot of space to stay outdoors and have fun in the pool, but also a coworking to focus in the work and be together with people that try to improve their life. I loved the barbecue and paella evenings.

This hostel is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. Amazing atmosphere and vibe, there is always events happening and group dinners that make meeting new people super easy! It’s a little out of town but that makes it super peaceful and quiet during the day. They also have a free shuttle to take you to the supermarket or the beach! I will definitely be back!

Having called Tree House Hostel my home for the past two months, I can't help but marvel at its unique blend of tranquility and vibrancy. This spacious villa, with its inviting pool, feels less like a typical hostel and more like a personal oasis. What sets it apart is the diverse community of digital nomads, providing an enriching environment for freelancers and entrepreneurs like myself. The layout, offering shared dorms and private rooms, suits various preferences, while communal spaces provide the perfect balance for work and relaxation. Every week is full of activities, entertainment and adventures. The vibe inside the hostel is in constant evolution, with many different dynamics happening simultaneously. You simply choose where to fit in and build your own crafted experience. As I write this review from my desk in one of the coworking rooms, where I essentially have my "own" desk to work, I reflect on how I never imagined having this kind of settling. Upon arriving in Tenerife two months ago, my plan was to move around various hostels and experience different facets of the island. However, after a few days at Tree House, I told myself, "Okay, I would never find a place like this for the same price anywhere on the island." And here I am, in my second month of staying... classic and routine life seems long forgotten right now... what a dream! Rating: 5/5 P.S.: The staff is amazing, and there are plenty of volunteers with different roles and skills. They keep the inner core of the hostel always alive and vibrant!

This hostel is absolutely amazing, the staff are friendly, helpful, always present and go the extra mile to help out with everything. The facilities are cleaned daily, and the public facilities three times a day. The bar is open everyday and various weekly events are always happening. Big kitchen, big outside area with a pool and sunbeds and sofas, chairs with tables spread all around.

Amazing place, it’s really hard to find a better hostel than the Tree House. Beautiful and big outdoor swimming pool surrounded by tables and cozy coaches to chill, meet new people and have fun during the parties and barbecue nights! Nice co-working spaces and also the kitchen is really big and well equipped. Private bathroom in each dorm and care for cleanings from the staff. You can also do a Pilates class on the rooftop in the morning to start the day and there is a shuttle service that works really good. Amazing people and absolutely recommended for any kind of stay!!

Great atmosphere for digital nomads, with two different coworking areas and a big outside space where you can also work from. It is also a great atmosphere for solo travellers, since the diverse guests and staff are always trying to create and maintain a pleasurable environment. Different events are offered, such as happy hours at the bar that is open everyday, Pilate classes every weekday, pool parties, barbecues, movie night and games night. The hostel also offers a shuttle service to the supermarkets, bus stations, closest city and beach various times a day, everyday. The entire staff and volunteers are always present and helping out with anything that is needed, and ensure the guests have a warm welcoming and special stay.

I was quite disappointed especially regarding the good reviews. The hostel’s facilities are quite old and the place is not made with love or eye for detail. It just provides the bear minimum. Also it is in the middle of nowhere. A few things they could improve. - The towels were very dirty and old - The kitchen should be updated, the equipment was disgusting and old - Train the staff - unmotivated and moody - Provide some basic food for sale - when we joined, there was no shuttle and we did not know that there is no supermarket/ restaurant nearby so we went very hungry to bed - clean, clean, clean! - Upgrade the “coworking space” as it is just a bunch of tables, not enough plugs, no place to take a call, again just decorated without love or ambition - Improve your shuttle booking system: No functioning security belts in the car (and you take the fast road), and the car was full many times as they did not count the bookings. Had to wait 1.5h for a pick up even though I reserved a spot - Add curtains to the room, it was either construction workers watching me or having a completely dark room

I can’t think of anything positive to say to be honest. We were all very shocked about the Hostels conditions (much different than on pictures) Co working: Just calling this coworking was an absolute joke!! There were just a few cheap ikea tables, with some uncomfortable chairs in a dark room. No pug ins, crowded and super rundown. I can’t believe people would spend a day working there! Not like in the pictures. Location: Again absolute awful. It’s located in a construction side and it takes 25 - 30 min with a shuttle to the beach as the route is under construction. There is a shuttle but most of the time it’s full so people need to spend 1-1.5h waiting for the next one (even though we booked a slot). Once we had to wait in the dark at the beach for more than an hour as the our booked slot was taken. There is nothing around so it’s quite boring. Shuttle is just available a few times a day, latest at 6:30. Taxi will costs roughly 25€. Pool: Pool Area was ok but pool is ice cold. Rooms: The double room was like the entire hostel old and run down. Again, no plug ins next to the desk (coworking?!?). One bed was ok and the other one was so old that the metal from the mattress came through. Towel were full of stains. Food & Kitchen: There is only the option for breakfast in the hostel and otherwise there is no restaurant nearby. You have to take the shuttle to the nearest supermarket to cook something in their disgusting kitchen. Staff: The staff (especially the American girl) was not that friendly as I usually experience in hostels and the entire atmosphere was not great. Overall: If you are looking for a coworking hostel, you have to keep looking. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

Ideal for relaxing and unwinding. The pool is incredible and has a bar next to it. The staff was a luxury, friendly, and helpful at all times. Highly recommended. It truly exceeded my expectations.

The location was terrible: it was way too far from anything. Also, one of the rooms had no heating at all, and there were ants in some corners of another room. The only good things, apart from the staff, which I must say were the pool and the terrace; they were very nice.

Not recommended. The advertised check-in time was clearly stated as 10 PM, and we made our plans accordingly. We arrived just before 10PM, on our arrival the staff insisted on an additional 10 euros PER PERSON. Rather than acknowledging their own mistake and rectifying it, they saw fit to exploit the situation by squeezing more money out of their guests. Other things to mention: If you are looking for a peaceful night's sleep, you will be disappointed, the location is only accessible via a rough dirt road

Amazing hostel! Has a great vibe, staff are super friendly and facilities also really good. There are activities and meal nights organised by the hostel so you can do as much or as little as you like during your stay. Would stay here for at least a week, highly recommend:)

This place gets better & better. I’ve just returned home and already booked for 4 weeks time. The staff make this a totally chilled getaway. Myself I love the big kitchen were you can prepare & cook to your hearts desire. The beds are comfy and private. Bathroom is spotless as it’s cleaned like your room daily. Wi-Fi is good and a massive pool with sun lounges. Supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away but there’s a lift there & back with 4 stores all together. There’s even lifts to the nearest beach too that I took advantage of. In a nutshell this place is magnificent and a sorry day when you have to leave.

I was captivated by The Tree House Hostel in Tenerife. It's a truly pleasant place, where I found the perfect combination of shared dormitories and private rooms. The two coworking spaces added a special touch to my stay, allowing me to connect with other creative individuals. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and impeccable facilities made my time at The Tree House Hostel truly memorable. I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for an authentic and engaging experience in Tenerife.

It's a secluded spot, but it's lovely, with fairly new facilities. We didn't use the common areas and only stayed one night. There was an incident during the evening with a guest who wasn't behaving well, but the staff removed him and we felt safe. The floor was a bit dirty. But we would definitely return.

Fantastic experience, staff always available to help! There are dedicated areas for all guest activities, such as workouts and yoga. Coworking space with a never-ending sea view and a pool area perfect for relaxing. Highly recommended!!

This hostel is in the middle of nowhere, difficult and dangerous to access by car or by walking. Safety and hygiene are non-existent. A lot of the details you find online about the hostel are half-truths or lies. Do not expect to rest here.

This place is amazing. I’ve just returned from 9 days of chilling. You can arrange for an airport pick up and once your at the hostel the fun begins. The volunteers are amazing, anything you need there’s help. The beds are comfy and you have locker space under your bunk. Bathroom was clean and lush shower. Into the kitchen you have your own space for foods and there’s massive fridges for water/beer/juices. Just write your name on to stop confusion. The poolside is spacious and great views, the bar is all lit up at night and is a welcome sight after a hot day. There’s a washing machine to use and a free dryer , but you won’t need this as your clothes will dry just as easy on the line. Altogether I enjoyed every day. I loved the atmosphere in the kitchen when meals are being prepared, plus you can buy your meals if you don’t want to cook. I must admit I’m a lover of cooking but the meals they prepare look so good & healthy. I’m happy to cook what I fancy and there’s lots of space to do this. If you need groceries ? There’s a free shuttle car that can take you 3 times a day. Allowing around 40 minutes to grab the beers & munchies. Aldi/Lidl/mercadona are all together so it’s pretty cheap. The 9 days flew bye and was sad to leave. I will be back soon. Big up to the staff ! Brilliant team.

This is the first hostel I’ve ever stayed in, but I heard from other guests that this is the best hostel they’ve ever stayed in. For me it was an amazing experience where I met so many great people. Except the fact that you stay pwith other people in the room, the conditions are as in a 3 stars hotel, but the atmosphere is much better. I don’t think I’ll want to stay in a hotel ever again, I’ll pick hostels for now on. I just hope that the next hostels I’ll chose to be as good as this one. Nice place friendly owners and workers

It's strange to find such a charming place in the middle of the 'desert' of El Medano. The whole place is beautiful and well-maintained (pool, rooms, bar) and the owner is attentive. You can also eat and drink cheaply. However, it's advisable to have a vehicle. We arrived backpacking and it was a bit difficult to get around without a car.

Mixed feelings. The hostel is very nice. The common areas are very pleasant, the kitchen is large, and everything is very clean. We stayed in a double room with a private bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower was very nice (warm and with good water pressure). The only downside for us was the noise at night: the music from the bar (reggaeton or similar), usually until 11:00 PM, maybe a little later, and one night there was a party until late. The rooms are very poorly soundproofed and face the bar and the pool, so you can hear everything. In general, the guests were respectful, and if they stayed chatting outside until late, they didn't make much noise, but some of the volunteers were noisy and woke us up several times at 4:00 AM (even though we slept with earplugs every night). In our opinion, it could be a 10/10 if these details were addressed and if the volunteer staff were a bit more professional.

After arrival l was very happy as the staff is rather easy-going and supportive, the apartment was rather fine (though the floors were in dirt and dust) and the location seemed to be quite nice. Too bad- no air condition or fan. The following pool party until early morning made it impossible to relax or to sleep. After the party, surrounding dogs started their concert of howling and barking. So if anybody is looking for a calm and quiet stay l wouldn't recommend this place at all. Too bad my Canaria experience had to end like this.

The best hostel I've ever stayed in. Super clean; you can see they clean every day. The shared kitchen is very well-equipped and always spotless. The volunteers and guests are very respectful, friendly, and eager to connect. The pool is perfect, and the chill-out area is just as great. The bar run by Armando and Gonza is fantastic; they have barbecues, paellas, and other dishes in the evenings. They are incredibly friendly and generous. I stayed in a private room, and it was very comfortable. Congratulations to Mariano and his team. I'll definitely be back because I made some great friends.

The Tree House Hostel is a very lovely and recommendable place in the south of Tenerife on a hillside close to El Medano. It’s located in the middle of the desert in peaceful calm with a beautiful view on the ocean. The outside community area is huge and comfy and welcomes all guests to connect, relax, take a swim in the pool, take some sun or read a book. Many nice spots to sit together and enjoy. It’s a family business with a very friendly and always ready to help management improving the place and the comfort of the guests by any chance. There is a group of volunteers in the hostel – young people who take care of the place and offer workshops like workouts, yoga, massages etc. They bring the life to the hostel, keep it vivid and form a community which makes it easy to connect and feel comfortable in. The beds in the dorms have curtains which feels like a personal cabin and gives privacy. Mattresses and pillows are of good quality and back-friendly. The privat rooms are very nicely furnished and cozy. The hostel has two coworking spaces for digital nomads to keep on in business in a nice atmosphere. The guys at the bar are the best :)) Happy Hour every night and from time to time a nice barbecue. Solo traveler, nature and adventure lovers or just for some time out to relax – if you visit Tenerife the Tree House Hostel is definitely worth a visit and the address for your stay.

Having stayed in hostels a lot, this one is the best I've ever visited. Super comfortable bedding, cozy duvet, plenty of space to chill, clean toilets, great kitchen area, and the pool and view are just perfect. The place to be, it was hard to leave… But I'll definitely be back. In the meantime, I left my guitar to soak up the good vibes of the place. :)) Ideally, you should rent a car, but they're well-organized with bike rentals and a transfer service that also acts as a taxi for other trips in the area. You can also walk to the nearest beach (La Jacquita), it's not that far. And a short stroll later, you're in El Medano. The location in the middle of nowhere is a real plus; it's part of its charm.

One of the best places to stay in southern Tenerife, an oasis in the middle of the desert. Access isn't for everyone; it's in the middle of the desert, but taxis do arrive. Plus, it's 10 minutes from the airport. Many thanks to the staff there, especially the volunteers; they made this an experience to remember. 100% recommended.

I stayed here for over a week and i must say i miss this place. The pool side is dope and they have a parking space. They should put locks on the bathroom though. We had a covid scare at that place last april but none of us were vaccinated at that time.

Accommodation in the middle of nowhere. I'm used to traveling in hostels. THEY STEALS FOOD, despite giving it a name, as they say, so it doesn't disappear. It's not that the thief takes a glass of milk, but rather entire cartons, yogurts, bread... all in less than 24 hours. They don't follow the posted rules of silence. If you're looking to relax at night, this isn't the place for you; but if you're looking for parties, alcohol, and swimming in the pool at night, yes. It's a shame because the accommodation itself is fine.

Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience at this hostel. Though the facilities are good and everything is clean, the staff is very bad which is a shame because the place could be good. Our food and drinks were taken from the fridge and when we asked the staff (who were drinking our beer at that point!!) they told us that they did not know where it had gone. There seems to be a group of volunteer staff there who party exclusively together a lot. They are very noisy during the evening and night directly in front of the hostel. They smoke constantly - as early as 8am you can smell weed coming through your windows and hungover staff comes into the kitchen saying they feel so bad that they need to go back to bed. Very unprofessional and it ruined our holiday.

One of the best co-living spaces in Tenerife! Location This co-living is located a few kilometers from the city of El Medano, which is a small traditional city (no big hotels or casinos here) . You will find plenty of local restaurants and bars long the shore line . El Medano is known for its two beaches and the practice of paddle and kite surf. It has a great jogging trail and many groups practice yoga in front of the beach at around 6pm (you can find these groups on social media). How to get there This co-living is 5 minutes’ drive from the Southern airport but coming by feet is impractical (unless you really like to hike). The best way to arrive at the co-living is to take their own van service from Southern Airport. If you arrive at the Northern Airport, there is a direct bus line (+-42 mins) towards Southern Airport that is quite easy (it costs 8€ a single ride). The Surroundings The tree House Hostel is located on a hill with view on the sea (see my pictures). It is almost completely surrounded by nature. Because of that, you can sometimes be woken up by birds or goats that live in biological farms close by. If you have a light sleep and nature sounds disturbs you, some earplugs might be helpful. The Space This co-living is like a renovated hacienda where life is articulated around the main court which contains many sitting/working spaces (see my pictures) . It has a small artificial beach with view on the hills, a private bar and many poufs to sit on. There are many areas for socializing and meet people. The pool is right next to the central courtyard and is fairly big. It is naturally warmed so expect refreshing bath’s until mid-march. The amenities This place has a large fully equipped shared kitchen equipped with ovens, microwave oven, heaters and industrial fridges. It also has a (paying) large washing machine and dryer. The Room I have stayed in a private room which was fairly big with a double bed and a great natural desk (see pictures). My room had large bathroom with a shower . The internet connection The internet connection comes from a network of 4G re-routers that cover the whole property. The connection was super stable . I tested the speed and it was 15-20mps download and 3 mps upload (see pic enclosed). My work as an ecommerce entrepreneur does not involve constant upload/download from the cloud and I could do everything I wanted from here. Advice : if internet is super important to you, bring your personal 4/5 G wireless router that you will use with a local sim card. In Conclusion If you are a party animal looking for a base from which to rest in between your sessions, this is not the best place, I would recommend a flat in Los Americas beach. This place is however extraordinary if you want to find a base where to work and mingle with people from all the horizons. You will get enough personal space for doing your work but in the same time have great opportunities for socializing & drinks after-work and find great friends to visit around. Don’t hesitate one second, this place will be with you even once you have left.

I never ever been to a hostel like this. at least not in one with a swimming pool, Caribbean style bar, and full of activity. These people really know how to take care of their guests. we were all the time feeling at home with a very familiar and warm approach. The owner Mariano is there to solve any need you may have. this is our favorite hostel in the world by far!!!||||Bravi guys :)

It's a beautiful hotel, full of color and super comfortable; I recommend it 100%. What I admire most is the attention from the staff and the owner himself—a genius! Perfect for a vacation or relaxing for a few days with family, a partner, or even alone... it's great!

The place is excellent, superbly located, just a couple of minutes from the airport and El Médano beach, in a very quiet area that guarantees rest. The facilities are perfect for enjoying the Canarian scenery and climate. The staff at the hostel are very friendly and welcoming. It exceeded my expectations; I would definitely return!
