This place is epic. Beautiful views and comfy places to chill, delicious dinners and great vibe. Rooms are simple but have everything you need - ours had AC. Would totally come back

We cannot talk highly enough about Merdeka House! Joey and Georgia have done a phenomenal job at building a place that makes you feel so at home! They are amazing hosts as well as Rudy and Anna who looked after us so well! The views at Merdeka are incredible, the food Anna cooks every night is delicious, the space is so comfy to chill and read a book or get some work done. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and the overall vibe is so great! We’ll definitely be back! 💙🙏🏽🌴🫶🏽

Incredible place with a magnificent view of the bay, we were very well received, the rooms are very clean and the fans are very sufficient to spend a good night after surfing. Top location close to yo-yo's, tropical and other spots. Very quiet and the included dinner is absolutely delicious! Go for it without hesitation!

Wow. What a place. The best view I've had from an accom ever!! Such a great location only minutes away from world class surf, a great crew and the tastiest dinners! I'll be back guys, definitely stay here if you're visiting West Sumbawa, it's just a pity supersucks wasn't breaking when I was there!

It's a spectacular place to stay and a beautiful project by an Australian surfing couple. The views from every room in the house are breathtaking. You can see the Supersuck wave perfectly. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. The common areas are pleasant and comfortable, inviting you to relax and chat with other travelers. Dinner, included in the price, is varied and plentiful. You eat in the common area with everyone else, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere—a great idea! The hosts, Georgia and Joey, along with the staff, make your stay very enjoyable, always ready to help with a smile. It has been a true pleasure to share our stay with you. A comfortable atmosphere on a peaceful hill

One of the nicest places we've stayed in indo. Awesome food, scenery, the local village Maluk has some amazing local food, friendly staff, beds were super comfy and rooms were clean and newly built. Definitely have to stay here if your heading to west sumbawa

Absolutely loved our stay here. Ended up extending for a week. Beautifull view, excellent facilities and great local homecooked dinner every night. Highly recommend a stay here as homebase in the area. The hosts are superchill and the Scooter was excellent. One of the best places in my indo trip

Beautiful location and lovely team! Rudy and Ana are so nice and helpful. He is a great host and she cooks yummy :) they have the best scooters from the area! Unfortunately no AC and no Pool, with makes the hangout at time a bit tough due to the heat and humidity. Scenery is stunning. Good value for money. Recommended :)

Merdeka house has been a joy to stay at. Incredible location with stunning views of a world class surf break. Everyone that stays here is super friendly and easy to get along with. There is a communal kitchen and lounge room overlooking the ocean which is great for hanging out and talking about your day with friends. There is a pool table and a half pipe for skating if the surf isn't exactly great that day. The included dinner is all time indonesian cuisine with vegetables and fresh fish. Not to mention the beer is always icey cold! Great value for money, I've stayed for over a month and will definitely be back.

The view is amazing for sure .Close to surfing sports.Definitely.Price pocket friendly.Sleep in the heat with fan only.Self service homestay.Need to cook your own foods if you don’t want to go buy in the village that’s quite faraway from the accommodation and of course wash the dishes urself after it.If those are the must have things u look then that’s your place. But unfortunately Merdeka is not my cup of tea.I need more than just a breathtaking view to have my stay convenient. One more,the staff asked me to check out ASAP even before the check out time just because the new guest who will stay in my room already arrived. What an excellent service that is.

Breathtaking views of the bay and surf spots. The common areas—living room, kitchen, and games room—are well laid out and very bright thanks to their open design. Whether with family or friends, "it's the place to be"... The welcome was fantastic!

The view of Pantai Maluk is amazing in all directions...I haven't been a guest at the accomodation but the meals they serve are outstanding.

We loved it!!! Everyone is so friendly, the room was nice, the dogs so sweet, the view-amazing! Nice beach nearby, only the road is a little bumpy.

just magic. the views and sunsets will linger in your mind. we really loved it here.

It's hard to imagine a better place to experience Western Sumbawa. Great view. Welll maintained. Friendly and accomodating staff. Great vibes. Very relaxing. Close to the surf. A great package overall.

Merdeka house is a gem. The rooms are clean, bintangs are cold and the people are always good fun. This place is the perfect mix of local culture and western comfort. Dirt cheap epic indonesian food in town, pool table and yoga classes at home and so many sick waves around. Great place for couples especially surfer/non surfer couples

It's an amazing homestay, highly recommended. It's a bit more expensive than usual, but it's on a hill where the sunsets are incredible, there's free pool, you can use the kitchen... Both the owners, Rudy and his family, are very friendly and welcoming and help you in every way they can.

Me and my friend Mark went to Sumbawa for a surf trip and our first stop was Merdeka house. For a bit it took us a while to find it but than the house on top of the steep road - wow - such a view. ||All over was just great, super nice and friendly hosts with lots of local tips and experiences, they showed us where to surf, gave us useful tips where to eat and showed us around.||Just great experience. ||Will be back one day for sure.

Initially I booked for three nights stay and ended up extending my stay to one week! This place is just exceptionally perfect for my liking - who doesn't surf in a surf area. They got a wide range of amazing books on their library and a breath-taking view on the common area to read the book and drink some tea. The host was away, but there's Spike who maintain the area. He was nice and also helpful. I have no other words because this place is definitely a gem in Sumbawa. 10/10 would come again!

This place has the wow factor, went for a week and managed to squeeze in nine days,||Beautiful views, beaches, surf, fishing, rain forests, wildlife, waterfalls and mountains, this place is away from the hustle and bustle of Bali, (takes a day to travel to from Bali), this is the real Indonesia,||The place is run by Georgia and Joe who have lived there for many years, speak the language and know the area very well, they couldn't do enough to make the stay any more pleasurable. It's hard to believe they built this house themselves, the rooms are very nice, cool and clean.||It's a very social place to stay, a communal kitchen and living area where information about what to do and where to go is freely bandied about,a great bunch of locals also will leave forever lasting memories.||Need to mention Dana's daily Yoga classes which are a lot of fun and seemed to get everyone involved.||The prices are cheap, accommodation and food is very cheap, don't expect to do any bartering or be ripped off, this is not Bali, the locals are very friendly.||I will return.

Came for a short stay (wish I could live there), non surfing background. Experienced parts of Indonesia I would never have been able to if it weren't for this place. Georgia and joe are a sweet australian couple which build this whole place on their own on top of a mountain overlooking the famous waves supersuck, playgrounds and doughnuts. Only 3 min bike ride down to the city, maluk. Wonderful view, quite cheap and worth every penny. Big beer fridge and nice kitchen to cook own food. Good location to also explore the surround ing waves and waterfalls. Definately the best place to stay in west sumbawa!! Amazing!

The experience was as picturesque as arriving at night in a place we knew nothing about, having stumbled upon it by chance at the top of an improbable hill! || A large villa open to the elements, with six bedrooms lacking air conditioning and charm. A small fan barely sufficed for a stifling night.... || A bathroom without a mirror!!!! Horrible!!! No toilet paper to use the famous Indonesian instruments... No wardrobe, chair, coat rack, or table to put anything on.... Headlamps were welcome...|| But everything in this villa is shared with the other housemates.|| Joey and Georgia are charming Australians, the view is sublime overlooking the Supersuck surf spot and Maluk Bay..... Everything could be great if the neglect weren't so brief...

Awesome place for surfers and non-surfers alike. Spectacular views across idyllic bays and perfect surf. The house is set up perfectly with a large common-area, communal kitchen and private or shared rooms. It's clean and well-equipped. Georgia and Joey are legends, the best hosts you could hope for. Already planning a return trip!

Ridiculous house on top of a hill overlooking one of the best waves in indo. ||This place has it all, surfing, skating, paragliding, dirt bike trail riding, snorkelling, tropical rainforest waterfalls and eveything else in between. ||Joey and Georgia know this area well and share their knowledge and stories willingly. ||The rooms are awesome all with their own ensuites, mosquito nets and scented complimentary soaps :)||Also has a pool table and a big projector for watching movies. ||A place to always come back too||:)
