Mellow is a mixed bag. On the positive side: the location is fantastic. Just walk across the road and straight onto the excellent Kabalana Beach. The cafe is nice. The staff were generally fairly helpful. However the private rooms leave a lot to be desired. The pricing is fairly premium for Sri Lanka but the rooms are really basic: you can forget having things like a fridge or bedside table. In addition, our bathroom had a leaky toilet and mouldy shower. Privacy was limited, with zero sound isolation between the room, bathroom and the walkway outside. Visually there is a barely-opaque curtain that only just covers the glass in the door.
