It is with great pleasure and joy that we share this story. Thank you very much our dear customer and good luck. This project has been my biggest challenge, blessing and stress over the past 6 years and none of it would be possible without the help of so many people. Thank you all Namely @sophianicholson_designs and her amazing Graphic Design talent and assistance through many years. @jamesharveyshoots for the amazing video content to remember @surf__vida for what she was. @salimarcampervans for letting my van 4) live her best life and be filled with people who love to explore Portugal. @better_life_ericeira_handyman for always being there when something breaks • or needs repair @reisluisreis for being my and my guests Surf Instructor and our surf school partners as well. And of course all of our guests who have stayed with us, become friends, acquaintances or better moved to Ericeira to become a local. We had a great time at Surf Vida! Jessica is a wonderful host, very kind, responsive, flexible. Everything was totally transparent, she gave us great recommendations, the place is very cute, clean and has everything you need for a short stay that we had, but also perfect for a longer stay if you plan to work from there. We loved the communal area. It has great vibes, it’s cozy, comfortable, nicely furnished and has a relaxing view to the ocean. And there are many other facilities that you can use. It’s easier to rent an Ebike, but getting in the center of Ericeira is absolutely walkable. We’ve done it a few times. Thanks for everything Jessica, we had a wonderful time!

I booked a room in this hotel in May. Due to a family emergency, I had to cancel my travel.||||I contacted the manager to explain my family emergency and the need to cancel the flight. I asked whether I could have a partial refund and she immediately refused. I asked if I could give the room to be used by one of my friends who was in Ericeira at the time and she asked me to pay a supplement so that my friend can use the room which is illegal. I had already paid the full price for the room.||||The owner is not friendly, difficult to discuss with and takes advantage of customers. I do not recommend this place.||||My friend who stayed there echoes the same feedback. The energy of the place is not great and the place is definitely overpriced. ||||The way you treat customers before they arrive is a reflection of how you treat them once they arrive.

Really good accommodation with nice rooms, big common areas and a modern kitchen. Outside area/garden which was great for just relaxing or having breakfast outside. The included bike rental was great for quickly getting into the town centre in just 5 minutes (15 min walk). Very welcoming and helpful host. Highly recommend!

I felt an obligation to post this honest and transparent review so no one else ends up in the unfortunate position we are in. We stayed for an enjoyable 3 months at Surf Vida, the community of tenants were charming, sadly the owner Jessica Roberts is not. Jessica is unpredictable, volatile and unprofessional in the way she speaks to her tenants and the way she conducts her business. When we met at the flat on the 'move out day' in person, Jessica highlighted no issues at this time when we did a walk around together. But then vicious messages and emailed followed, which was very stressful and damaging. Jessica didn’t do an inventory when we moved in but then decided to charge us for whatever she felt like on our departure. We were charged an upfront €50 cleaning deposit, which was not used on cleaning when we left. She then charged us €300 for very minor things. Ericeira is such a great town, with amazing people and awesome community vibes, it makes me very sad when people like Jessica take advantage of others. There are many great places to stay in Ericeira, I wouldn’t advise anyone to take the risk of staying at Surf Vida. I very rarely leave negative reviews, but when something like this happens, I feel a duty to help others avoid. In expectation of a deceitful follow-up, I’ll post images of communications from Surf Vida for full transparency.
