Overview: We booked a two-week stay with my partner, and it was our first workation. The experience was simply fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Location: The accommodation is very remote and secluded, which we found to be a huge plus. The house is enormous, with multiple rooms and three shared bathrooms. The communal kitchen, dining area, and living room are spacious and well-equipped. The garden is particularly impressive, featuring a pizza stone oven, various seating areas (also suitable for working), a ping-pong table, and much more. The property has a charming, rustic flair, and while it shows some signs of age, this only adds to its unique character. Additionally, there are two cars available for the community to share, making it easy to drive to Funchal, Pico do Arieiro, and other points of interest despite the remote location. Community Spirit: The sense of community is a central aspect here. Although we were initially skeptical because we enjoy our privacy, we were thrilled from day one. We met so many wonderful people from different countries like Japan, the USA, and Ireland. This cultural diversity was very enriching. Living together, going on after-work excursions, cooking, and cleaning together always worked out very well. Host Figo: Figo, the host, has been living on Madeira for a long time and can provide many valuable tips that you won’t find on the internet or in travel guides. This added value is priceless, and you can tell that he is passionate about helping guests collect unique experiences on the island. For this reason alone, we would definitely return. Conclusion: For us, it was the best first workation experience, motivating us to plan such stays regularly. We highly recommend this accommodation and host Figo, and we hope many more guests can enjoy this wonderful experience.
