Positive points: I loved the fact that it has direct access to the beach, it's very convenient. The hammock with a sea view is excellent, as is the pool area. The breakfast is good (I missed having juice, but I still liked it). The place is beautiful, clean and has a good structure. The location is very good: close to markets, buses and the Barra Canal. |||| Negative points: || - Some people on the staff care more about entertaining guests than providing good service. I understand that the interaction in a hostel is different (I've stayed in numerous hostels before), but I think there was a lack of attention at times. It's not nice to arrive with luggage, in the rain, and have to wait for the reception staff to finish playing games or chatting randomly with other guests, for example. The guy at the bar could be more friendly too: he didn't smile, didn't say "hi" and even told me to get my beer at reception. || - Rooms could have keys. I saw more than one person without a wristband/identification walking around the place, so it would be safer if there was a key (I saw other girls commenting the same). || - The pool was dirty on the days I stayed. || - I asked for an invoice and they haven't issued it yet. || - Not having to wash the breakfast dishes could be a plus (I know this is common in hostels, but given the comfort the place provides, it might not be necessary). It's not a major negative point, but it's a suggestion.
