We returned to this hotel after a stay a year and a half prior and were somewhat disappointed, despite having been very complimentary the first time. The room smelled musty upon arrival, and on our first night, we even had the pleasure of seeing a cockroach scurrying across our bed. The Maasai who used to watch over the beach are now rarely seen; children come and lie down next to us on the sun loungers. It's very cute at first, but quickly becomes bothersome when you want to get some rest. On our first night, a Maasai man came to sleep on the bench on our room's terrace and fell asleep with the music blasting! We had to wake him up and ask him to turn it down before we could sleep. Housekeeping was missed once during our stay. The sea view is absolutely remarkable, but I think the lack of professionalism in the service and amenities offered is no longer up to standard. ||||While in my previous comment I said that I would return to Surfescape, today I think I will not return.
