Ever since the lease got over for Platform 1 (Rishikesh), we have been on the road. Travelling from one location to another frantically, eagerly waiting to find another space - another home. And boy, is it tough! 😩 We first started by looking around Rishikesh and Tapovan areas in a 50km radius. Not getting any substantial leads, we moved further 30kms in the mountains. We attempted to lease out a house with farmland in Dhungali village, Chamba block, Tehri Garhwal. Owned by three brothers, we made a great effort to convince them to support us in our endeavours. A lot of time and energy went into this and in the end, it did not come through. 😔 Daily negotiations occupied our time as simultaneously we lived a simple village life in Saur village. The house we rented did not have electricity, water, and even a bathroom. Our budget did not allow us to stay in any hotels/guesthouses so we decided to go forward with this till our lease agreement got finalized. ✅ We were excited about living the dream of life in a mountain mud house. Honestly, it was tough and it gave us a good space to question what “basics” mean for us individually. 🛖 We were quite disappointed by this futile attempt at leasing a house, and really began to question everything. That is the exact moment when another opportunity came our way, and it is almost like the Gods were listening to us.
