My name is Echo Tang from Chengdu, China, and I’m going to Berlin for a one-year research project starting from Oct 2021, granted by the German Chancellor Fellowship. I will spend a year in Berlin exploring how to use arts and culture to empower citizens and motivate them to be active participants and co-creators in shaping their own cultural landscape and urban lives. I have studied in Shanghai, New York and London with a bachelor’s in Poli Sci and a master’s in Arts management. I am a documentary producer, freelance writer, project manager, and cultural enthusiast, passionate about film, culture, feminism and gender equality, languages, travel and minimalist lifestyle. I have made documentaries in Jerusalem and across China. Three keywords in my life are: explore, create, connect. My hobbies are surfing, hiking, standup comedy, going to music live, swing dance, etc.
