I'm astonished by the chorus of praise I'm reading in the reviews, which is what made me choose this hotel for my 7-night stay. Either I was incredibly unlucky (I did try two rooms in 7 days), or my standards are too high. But I don't believe that, because for €190 a night for two people, what I'm about to describe is the bare minimum of comfort and hospitality one has a right to expect: The room is cramped and has no luggage rack, just a simple old wardrobe with doors that don't close, 4 hangers for 2 people, no glass in the bathroom, a trickle of cold water barely enough to brush your teeth, a cracked shower floor, a bathroom door that you absolutely must close at night or risk hitting your face with because it's so close to the bed, terrible Wi-Fi, and air conditioning that keeps stopping After a few minutes, and having to restart it yourself, the toilet is positioned two centimeters from the floor, so you're sitting very low on the throne, the toilet bowl is smaller than the toilet unit, and the mattress is old and sagging at the sides. As for the hotel, it promises a lot but delivers little. It has charm, is perfectly located away from the noise of the center, but is outdated. The carpeting, furniture, and microwave in the lobby next to a very unsightly water fountain are all dated. The reception staff are very sparse (but very kind and helpful), and the parking lot costs €15 a day but has so few spaces that you have to find your own (and it's complicated). In short, this hotel is poorly managed, with no modernization or attention paid to its upkeep and the necessary investments. It's easy money made without sufficient return. Look at the 3-star hotels in Nice (where I am from) and you will realize that prices range between €120 and €170 for infinitely superior services.
