I went for a week to learn how to kite and live at the camp with others that went for the same reason, and I got to say it was a week well spent. The stay itself for me was Saturday afternoon the 24th to Saturday early morning the 31st of August, and except for being overdressed for the heat when arriving, the whole stay was excellent. The dinner ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. New things every day with well balanced and thought out dishes, good salads, fruits, new desserts (for me at least), and so much food you would never think of leaving hungry. So the kitchen team deserves all the praise they can get, but I'm sure they do hear it often enough from both staff and guests. I have told family and friends that the food alone is worth considering going for. Breakfast 7 days a week, and dinner 6 days and 1 day off for the kitchen team. The kiting started a bit slow for me, with 1 lesson Sunday followed by 2 days of no wind. Luckily, the 4 days I got to kite, my instructor (AJ/Adrian) got me riding really quick. So by the end of my 4 days of kiting I was at, or even a bit past the level of the other kiters that arrived early enough to join the Saturday session that i missed. Hell yeah! I didn't bother asking for my official grade, so this is purely from talking to the other kiters staying at the camp. So needless to say, I am extremely satisfied with the 4 days of kiting I got, and I'm now ready to start trying it out with the local kiters where I live. I just have to get used to the water being a bit colder here in Norway.... So thank you all, I will be back! And hopefully next time I'm an even stronger kiter than I was when I left.
