For the latest instalment of #SpiritLevel, we caught up with our Head of Strength & Mindset and fellow housemate @harrythomascoaching to get some tips for using exercise and mindset to live well inside ✨
🔍 Look at the bigger picture 🔍
Make your journey a project and document the overall process. Living in balance means focusing on more than just a single goal. Don’t just track your exercise – take note of your overall health instead of isolating single parts by journalling #nutrition, #sleep, #recovery, #creativity and daily #movement. Once you can see what is happening to each of these as you progress, you’ll be inspired to stay on track and have a better understanding of your overall feel good.
🎉 Celebrate the wins 🎉
Shift into a success mindset. Setting a stretch target and meeting it is hard work! Instead of focusing on how far you have to go, focus on how far you’ve come. Look for all the wins – attendance, distance, fewer aches, longer sessions, lost fat, there’s always something you have advanced. The more wins you see, the more success you’ll have.
🧠 Reframe how you think 🧠
Training sessions are always more than just a workout for me.
Sometimes we forget about what you’re getting out of them, beyond physical fitness. Working on mindset, alleviating stresses, hitting weight loss/lifted goals, achieving success and believing in your body. So when you struggle to get going remind yourself of the immediate benefits exercise will have when you have one of those ‘I don’t want to do anything’ days.
