Meet Jordan (@itscool2benice), our first Artist in Residence at Mason & Fifth who recently captured daily life at The Italian Building 📸

We caught up with him to get to know more about the person behind the camera lens 👇🏼

✨ Tell us a little about yourself… ✨

I am an interdisciplinary performance artist and photographer, as well as a mentor for people with mental health diagnoses and kids with special educational needs.

✨ …and your work 📸 ✨

My work centres on identity and empowerment, specifically in the sense of belonging, community and spaces. I love how buildings become not only key performers in social narratives, but also witness the personal stories of the people it contains.

This is why I love Mason & Fifth! It is a huge building that has been a spectator and key performer over time and now holds 31 different personal stories, which is ever changing as people move in and out.

✨ What did you get up to during your time with us? ✨

Being Queer and neurodivergent, I’m obsessed with sharing stories – mine and others. While I was at Mason & Fifth, I focussed on documenting the sense of community as well as individuals within the building.
