Possibly one of the best decisions I’ve made in recent years was joining Surfbreak HNL. At Surfbreak, I was given an instant community— one full of people who were open-minded, loved spending time outdoors as equally indoors, and valued being of service to others and the land around them. Almost every day, there was initiative to surf, cook in the kitchen, explore other parts of the island, volunteer, or do some sort of activity together. Days would end with lively discussions in the kitchen about how our days went, our favorite moments, and what we wanted to do next. My experience was incredibly fulfilling, thanks to the people that lived there and our operations managers, Kelsey and Daniela, that worked tirelessly to make my experience as smooth as possible. I’m super thankful that even today, I continue to stay in touch with the people I befriended in both stays. Anyone looking for community and adventure in one of the best places in the world should try coming to Surfbreak.
