Morning coffees overlooking Oahu. Community dinners that turn into long conversations or dance parties. Finishing work for the day and heading straight to the ocean. This is a bit of what summer at Surfbreak HNL looks like. Summer in Honolulu is almost full, and we have just three rooms remaining for late July arrivals. Our members are the reason behind our success over these few years, and you all fill our spaces with memories and purpose. Here are some birthday messages from the Surfbreak Ohana 🎂 Thank you for choosing Surfbreak as your home away from home 🤙

The people you meet along the way become the people you can’t imagine leaving behind. Road trips, hikes, beach days, coworking sessions, family dinners, late-night debriefs. This is the stuff that turns strangers into lifelong friends. One of the best parts of Surfbreak will always be the people 💙

Everyone loves the idea of working from the beach.
The reality? Your laptop overheats, the WiFi drops, and you can’t see your screen. Surfbreak was built to make beachside living actually practical for remote work. Reliable WiFi, comfortable coworking spaces, ocean views, and a community of people doing the same thing. Because there’s a big difference between vacationing somewhere… and being able to truly live and work there. 40% off from June through September at Surfbreak PXM is live, if this office is calling your name!

Surfbreak was an amazing experience. The location is perfect, with easy access to the beach, great food, and everything Honolulu has to offer. The penthouse views are incredible and make every day feel like a vacation. What stood out most was the community—everyone was welcoming, adventurous, and supportive. From surfing and hiking to shared meals and conversations, it was easy to make genuine connections and lasting friendships. Surfbreak offers the perfect balance of adventure, connection, and island living. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in Hawaii.

I was looking for a warm place when the weather got cold in NYC. Taking advantage of the remote working situation. I traveled a lot in 2021 and 2022, also lived in Mexico many months. I wanted to try Hawaii this time. Planned to stay 2 months, but I am an official Hawaiian resident now and bought my 1st property in Waikīkī after 3 months. I made good friends from Surfbreak. The founder RJ and the manager Daniella are very nice and always trying to improve things with members feedbacks. We plan lots of fun activities: surfing, hiking, snorkeling, site-seeing, and etc. The rooms are small but not an issue for me. The views from my room were spectacular. I saw rainbows among the mountains a lot. The rent is not cheap but a great deal comparing to what else you can find on the island. The crowd can be different time to time, but are mostly remote workers who sleep and wake up early for work during weekdays. I had no issues sharing bathrooms, which was my concern before arrival. There are cleaning stuff on site everyday but you do need to wash your own dishes or place them in the dishwasher. Surfbreak gave me some days to stay for free while I was waiting for the closing of my new home which was greatly appreciated. Don’t hesitate to apply Surfbreak! I would say responsible individuals are more likely to get accepted. They will do background and credit check. Good luck!

I had such an amazing experience at the Honolulu location! If you’re on the fence about coming, you should definitely go for it. This coliving truly felt like home—the location is perfect, the vibe is super welcoming, and I met some incredible people along the way. I’d 100% recommend Surfbreak to anyone!(:

My 2nd stay and it was perfect. Surf Break is one of those hidden gems that when you find it, you want to tell everyone about the experience. The location is perfect. Walking distance to all the shops and stores you could want. So many good food places near by, and a huge grocery store within a few blocks. The people are always welcoming, friendly and it feels very quickly like you’re immediately part of the group. You can hang out on your own, or join in group activities, and that flow and vibe is perfect. The Surf Break team is AMAZING. They take care of everything and are always available during your stay. It’s so much better than a normal short-term rental because you get to meet new people, have everything within a few blocks walk, and a whole team making sure everything goes smoothly. Thank you SB team! I’ll be back. Mahalo!

Had a wonderful experience at SB! Management was kind and accommodating. Met wonderful people and learned so much about Oahu and its culture, food and community. I was there during the floods and we volunteered and fundraised money for North Shore. Highly recommend Surfbreak!

Honest review aside from the very nice and pleasant people or those that do aim to create a positive atmosphere it is welcoming. Surfbreak is NOT luxury whatsoever regardless of what is posted or what the pictures appear, the rooms are NOT soundproof the furniture is in need of an upgrade. I have never stayed in a hostel but I believe this may have been my first experience I stayed 2 nights only I could not stay any longer. The manager Daniela was wonderful and worked with me so did her team, cleaning staff was alright.
