The best part of my stay at El Mundito was definitely the people. Guests and volunteers were amazing, warm and lovely. Unfortunately, the physical condition of the place doesn't quite match what's shown in photos or on social media. Many things were visibly broken, like the floor in the room and some furniture, and the common areas were consistently dirty. I ended up cleaning up dust and trash myself multiple times just to be able to use the space or work from my laptop. Other guests were doing the same in the kitchen. We asked the owner for help with cleaning but didn't get any support. During my stay I also experienced recurring issues with electricity and water. There were times we had no power or water for multiple days in a row, and this happened almost every week. On those days, several of us, myself included, had to find somewhere else to work remotely. No refund, compensation, or solution was offered, so we ended up paying extra. Reaching out to the owner was also difficult. Responses often only happened the next day no matter how urgent the problem was, which made it really hard to handle things as they came up. I had originally planned to stay for a few months, but the experience became exhausting and I decided to leave earlier than planned.

I stayed here for a month, and unfortunately my experience was quite different from how the place is presented in the photos and online description. While the location is nice in the sense that it is close to the sea, the property is also surrounded by constant loud construction noise and heavy traffic noise starting early in the morning. The rooms had mold, and overall the place often felt unclean. The house itself is quite old and seemed to have frequent issues with basic utilities such as water and electricity, beyond the occasional service interruptions you might normally expect in Puerto. Another major issue was that problems were not addressed in a timely manner. There were regular disruptions with water and electricity, while at the same time the owner often hosted excessive late-night parties, was frequently very drunk, shouting, and generally disturbing for guests. As a result, important maintenance issues were not resolved promptly, and the property remained in poor condition. For guests working online, this was especially difficult, as people often had to leave and search for places with stable Wi-Fi. I would not recommend it to any digital nomad for sure. The kitchen was usually dirty unless guests cleaned it themselves, and the fridge was never properly cleaned but it was moldy and honestly quite unpleasant to use. I did make good friends during my stay. Still, it was disappointing to encounter such a lack of professionalism, as well as poor attention to basic maintenance and cleanliness. In the end, I was relieved to move on.

Me quedé en El Mundito por dos meses y me encantó el ambiente! Super emprendedor y creativo, como una verdadera fábrica de startups. Después de trabajar en mis proyectos, muchas veces íbamos con la familia del Mundito a la playa, salíamos a cenar o simplemente disfrutábamos unas chelitas en el jardín (que está increíble) o en la rooftop terraza. El internet funciona al 100%, tanto en las habitaciones como en las áreas comunes, lo cual es perfecto si vienes a trabajar remoto. Hanna es una excelente host, siempre atenta a que todos estén felices y cómodos. Además, tiene muchísimos contactos y te ayuda con cualquier información o recomendación muy rápido. I lived at Mundito for 6 months and it was a great experience. Between the cool restaurants and bars of la Punta and the clubs and party from Zicatela, it is well located at the heart of the chill Tamarindos area. During my stay there, I met over 30 travelers from different parts of the world. Everybody was superfriendly and chill, I became good friends with most of them and even met people whom made it into my heart and will be long life lasting relationships for me. This was a complete game changer during my stay in Puerto. I was able to experience incredible adventures and lots of fun with pretty cool people. I made a family at Mundito. I felt at home there. I highly recommend this place for anybody who's looking to live in a chill and cool place, very well located and is looking to meet other fellow travelers/digital nomads.

Mundito was my home for 5 months and I had such a special time. Living within a few minutes of the beach was non negotiable for me so Mundito is just perfect. Perfectly located between the beach, La Punta and Zicatela with tiendas, public pool, the collectivo and restaurants all so close. You want bar vibes? Head left. You want a club? Head right. Lovely to be able to work outside and hang out with everyone. I couldn't be happier with my housemates. Strangers become family 💓 unmatched vibes 🤩

Soy mexicana y actualmente vivo en Canadá, y cada vez que viajo pienso lo mismo: ojalá existieran más Munditos por todo el mundo. El Mundito fue mi refugio durante el COVID y también después. Fue un lugar que me sostuvo en un momento muy frágil de mi vida. Aunque yo no me quedaba ahí porque una amiga vivía a la vuelta, siempre me sentí parte de su comunidad. Ahí conocí gente increíble, hice amistades reales y viví momentos que se quedan contigo para siempre. Es un espacio que te hace sentir acompañado, contenido y en casa, incluso cuando estás lejos de todo lo que conoces. Hanna, la dueña, tiene un corazón enorme. Su forma de cuidar el lugar y a las personas hace que todo se sienta humano, cálido y auténtico. El Mundito no es un lugar, es un hogar en Puerto Escondido. Un espacio donde la comunidad sucede de forma natural y donde, incluso lejos de todo, te sientes en casa.

I spent the most amazing month at El Mundito over Christmas and New Year. My room was beautiful with plenty of space to work, as well as the co-working space outside which I loved. But what made my stay so incredible were the people there - we had so much fun and I was truly sad when it was time to leave. Hanna looked after us so well and is fantastic at building community and making us feel at home. Needless to say I'll be back!
