They took 4 days to say whether or not we were accepted, and only said that we were when I messaged them on Instagram and my wife E-mailed them. Once they told us we were accepted, they asked us when we wanted to show up and for how long. We told them the 2nd, for visa reasons, and bought tickets to India from Cambodia. Only once we'd bought the tickets did they tell us they only had room starting on the 12th. When we asked them if there was another nearby hostel or the like we could stay at, they said it wasn't their problem and that if we wanted to stay at AltSpaced we had to pay them now & pay them 18% more than the listed price on their website. This would bring the cost of a month's stay to over 1000 US Dollars. I am not going to pay over 1000 US Dollars to be in rural India; one of the charms of rural India is that it is cheap, supposedly. Anyways, for all I know it's a very nice facility. But I will not be going to it. I reccomemd that the people who run this place be much much clearer on their website about costs and room availability. EDIT: after I posted this review, the owner reached out to me on Instagram and said that the 18% add-on would be waved, and they'd find accommodation for me, if I would just take down this review. I told him I was no longer interested in being a customer; he has sent me around (not sure of precise number) five messages since then begging me to take down this review. In the ensuing discussion, they revealed that their statement on their website that implies that they have been in operation for 7 years is misleading; they have been in operation for two. I should note that the owner claims that not including the GST tax (supposedly the source of the 18% fee? I don't see why I am expected to pay their taxes, but okay) in the cost of things is standard in India; I don't know enough about India to comment on this.
