I first came to this place for the AI Launchpad. Within the first week I fell in this love this place and the folks who run the campus. Over the past year, we’ve stayed in more than 100 hotels, and this place is truly one of our favorites in Northern India. 🌿🧘‍♀️1. The atmosphere is incredibly close to nature — peaceful, full of greenery and flowers, with a spacious area perfect for meditation, yoga, and workouts. 🫂2. The hosts and the staff are exceptionally warm and welcoming. Such wonderful people — it was a pleasure meeting everyone. 🥗3. The food was outstanding. A big thank-you to the chef — every day he created culinary masterpieces and constantly surprised us. It’s also very convenient to have a fixed schedule and a buffet where you can choose what you want and how much you want. ☕️4. This is the only place in many months of traveling where I could finally enjoy a really good cappuccino from a proper coffee machine. It is perhaps an evolutionary need to want to belong. I may have finally found a place that suits my temperament. Altspace, off Dharamshala, is located in a village called Thehr (halt/stop). As if offering poetic justice, this place works the magic of “halting” life’s cares and worries, and allows one to truly connect with oneself. Beyond that, conversation starters with fellow like-minded co-inhabitants of Altspace soon develops into a comforting camaraderie and exploring places and eating good food together. The co-working space boasts of views — the valley on one side and the mountains on the other. Sheets of mist, pouring rains, lovely, breeze, walking on dewy grass in the mornings — everything in and around Altspace offers the much-needed respite from city life, crowd and noise. I waited to write this review more than two months after my visit. And I still feel the same way, and will return to stay at Altspace again — for the safety and the connection it offers and for the quiet that has made home within. A big thank you to the creators of Altspace.

On a whim, I chose to stay at AltSpace in Dharamshala, and it turned out to be the best decision I made for my writing life. As spartan and monastic as the property is, there are no amenities missing for a comfortable stay. Their community is thoughtfully curated, so chances are very high you will meet people who will become friends - I made several during my stay. Sylvan surroundings to walk in, a view of the majestic Dhauladhar range from the co-working area, and a co-working space that has been designed with productivity as its core focus. I carved out two different perches for my writing practice and found the ink flowing effortlessly. Generated new material, did deep revision work on old material, and have come back fully charged and inspired. One of the few places in the world I so deeply connected with, which is how I know I will return at some point. Thank you, team AltSpace. You will always be one of my fondest memories. Stayed at AltSpace for two weeks in January 2025 and I wanted to thank the wonderful team at the stay for the homely feeling and warm hospitality extended. The rooms are impeccable yet minimalistic with work-desk. The workspaces are modern, spacious, and well-equipped, making it the perfect environment to be productive. The high-speed internet was reliable, and the ergonomic chairs made long hours of work comfortable. There is lot of open spaces at the stay and the views of snow-capped Dhauladhar mountain range from the property is serene. There are also plenty of quiet zones if you need to take breaks and be on your own. The community here is incredible—super friendly and collaborative. I met several like-minded professionals, and the networking opportunities were great. The review won't be complete without the special mention of all the support and kitchen staff members who work hard with love and affection to make homely and delicious meals that keeps us going. Overall, my stay was productive and enjoyable, and I highly recommend this co-working space to anyone looking for a flexible and inspiring place to work. Cheers to Prashant and Ambuj. I initially booked my stay at AltSpace for one month and ended up staying for 2 months. If there could be a word depicting when reality exceeds expectations, AltSpace just might be it. I had the most amazing time at AltSpace. I met the community of warm-hearted individuals from all walks of life and ended up making lifelong connections. AltSpace offers delicious homely food, 3 lovely dogs, breathtaking sunsets amidst Dhauladhar range, great AQI, and the unbeatable hospitality of Ambuj, the community manager who doubles as your guide to falling in love with Dharamshala and its food scene (which is of gold standard btw). The campus is huge for you to play, walk around and explore. Rooms are clean, spacious with wifi connectivity across the campus. And the co-working space is just unmatched - better than anything that I have seen anywhere so far. If you’re considering exploring the lesser-seen side of Himachal, I’d recommend AltSpace a thousand percent. It’s a place that will leave you with cherished memories and a longing to return :)

My friend recommended this place in Dharmashala and i booked it for a week. This is one of the best coworking spaces in Himachal. The vibe of this place is incredible. In a peaceful area and away from the main city, this place is surrounded by mountains and farming fields. They provide 3 meals a day and the food is amazing as home cooked food. Special thanks to Nikhil bhai for his amazing cooking and sweet nature. Coming to the community manager Ambuj, he became my friend the moment he met me and gave me the property tour. He made sure the experience has to be outstanding not just at Altspace but wherever you are going in Dharamshala. His recommendations are amazing around Dharamshala and a nice human being you would want to be around. I've had an amazing time with him at altspace and local eateries too. Last but not the least, Dudo ( the pet dog at the property), is my daily breakfast buddy. Every morning I used to have breakfast in the garden area with Dudo and Mountains. The most sweetest boy at Altspace. The rooms are neat and clean and so the entire property. So if you are looking for a space in himachal where you can find peace, people and work from there, Altspace has to be the first choice.

Nestled in an idyllic area, the breathtaking views were a constant delight, making each day a visual treat. The abundance of marginal space, which is rare to find in India, provided a liberating feeling, enhancing the overall sense of comfort. The nearby walks were a perfect way to unwind and take in the natural beauty. Connectivity is often a concern in remote areas, but I was pleasantly surprised by the very fast Internet speed. Whether for work or leisure, it surpassed my expectations, ensuring I could stay connected without any interruptions. The people, vibe, and community truly added to the experience, creating a warm and welcoming environment. A special shoutout to the community manager, Ambuj, whose friendliness and helpfulness not only made my stay smoother but also turned him into a friend. The food offered was certainly good. Homely and well-balanced, it managed to satisfy without feeling overly rich or restaurant-y, which meant I could enjoy it for a month or more without getting bored. It struck the right note in terms of taste and variety, catering to the needs of diverse palates. Additionally, the availability of daily needs within the surrounding area, although not exceptional, was adequate enough to meet everyday requirements. Another highlight was the supportive nature of other residents working from there. Their camaraderie and willingness to help created a strong sense of community, making them true assets to the co-living space. However, there are areas where Alt Space could benefit from some improvements. In-room amenities, especially in the higher-priced rooms, could use a bit more attention to detail. Simple yet essential items like a kettle and water bottles upon arrival would instantly elevate the guest experience. Communication about ongoing construction activities during my stay could have been more transparent. An upfront heads-up on such activities is crucial as it helps manage expectations and plan accordingly. Lastly, I noticed that the standard operating procedures (SOP) for in-room checks and cleaning could be refined. A more rigorous approach to maintaining cleanliness and conducting regular checks would greatly enhance the overall comfort and satisfaction. Despite these areas for improvement, my overall experience at Alt Space was overwhelmingly positive. The serene locale, vibrant community, and thoughtful management truly make it a standout choice. This place is beyond luxury. The founders practically live here, work from here and have their meals with the guests. So this does not feel like a commercial place. It is an extension of their homes. They chose this location after spending several years working from these mountains. And that shows, because it is perfect. If you have attempted being a digital nomad, you would appreciate the details that have been taken care of. Even the design of the place has been done by one of them, a professional architect. I have worked remotely from 10 countries, and this is the most well done space I have come across. The material used in construction seamlessly blends with the nature around. Windows with spectacular views have been put at all the right places across rooms and the common spaces, letting ample natural light trickle in. During my stay here, I was able to break through some creative blocks and make progress on all those parts of my work that felt stuck. Money cannot buy what is on offer here. Gratitude.

I was instantly mesmerised when I first looked at the property photos, and knew the owners did a great job with the structure and spent good money. Little did I know how the thing came into existence and that so much was invested, which money just couldn't buy. It's not your run-of-the-mill hotel or hostel, and hits way different. The place is very close to how you'd feel in your own home, had it been on the foothills of the Himalayas. That's largely because the owners, a bunch of amazing guys, make you feel nothing less than lifelong buddies. They literally take "Atithi Devo Bhava" to the Himalayan level. Right from sanitised cozy rooms to sumptuous healthy meals, from lively workstations with breathtaking views to evening warm bonfires intertwining with the cool breeze, you're in for a treat. You need atleast 2-3 days to just explore around the campus. And the best part- it's pretty affordable for almost everybody. Do check it out, and Bon Voyage! Ps- The photos aren't really justifying the truth.

I think about everything in terms of pros and cons but this place doesn't have any cons. All pros. Accessibility: Easy! Reach Kangra/ Dharamshala and get here in a cab costing less than Rs. 300 Hosts: Amazing! Such humble people with great accomplishments are very hard to find. Ashik, Prashant, Ankit, Suraj, and the whold Altspace team is amazing. Price: Amazing again. You won't get a hostel in the price that they ask for all including stay. I stayed in AltSpace for more than a month and I wish I could stay longer if not because of my visa validity. This place made us fall in love with the area and open my eyes to a different side of India. We even considering to settled here! Located in a strategic place with views directly to mountains, It's really a beautiful scenery to see every single day especially in the morning and sunset. I like the concept of whole building which made from mud because it feels earthy and homey. Room is really spacious for me and my boyfriend, my giant suitcase, his backpack and our others bags, with there is still spaces to run around. Temperature inside the room is always warmer from outside which is great because we were there on November. The place is so clean. Co-working space is perfect with backup power and reliable internet connection. No problem with water supply either. They provide 3 times meal and you can always tell them if you want something different. There's also a small kitchen in the common room for you to make coffee, tea, noodles and easy cook for yourself. AltSpace is a fascinating place to stay for even longer period, all the people there are so friendly and kind. If there's something wrong, they listen and rectify. There are also 3 adorable dogs which we love so much and adding another reason to go back there. I'll come again to AltSpace in a heartbeat!

Away from the hustle bustle of the town, situated in the lap of gigantic mountains, AltSpace is my home away from home. I have been here for a month now and have enjoyed every bit of it. One window of my room opens to majestic mountains and the other window opens to vast green fields. Wifi is blazing fast and there is a power backup as well. We play games like Table tennis, Volley ball, and many other indoor games after work. I have made life long friends here. Not to mention the taste of food which is really delicious. The atmosphere is very vibrant here. I would totally recommend this place for remote workers looking for a fall back in the lap of mountains at an affordable pricing and who want to be around really great people.

It is set amidst fields and has all amenities needed for a comfortable stay - fast and stable internet, meals, well-equipped rooms, recreational spaces, and lovely people! It's close to Dharamshala, Mcleodganj, and Dharamkot (just a taxi ride away) and makes for an excellent workation option in Himachal. I stayed here for two weeks and can't wait to go back!
