NomadGao Assagao - A Digital Nomad Community

A great place to work and live as a digital nomad! We stayed as a couple and originally planned to stay for one month, but ended up staying for three months in total. As a digital nomad couple looking for a reliable workplace and a little calm from time to time within the wonderful Indian chaos, NomadGao was the perfect spot for us: Great hospitality from Saal, perfect housekeeping by Cheetan & family, amazing Indian and Vietnamese food by Sheila & Babli, simple but lovely accommodation, a co-working space, a chill-out terrace nestled in the mango trees, and the most reliable internet through power cuts we have found in India so far. The location is perfect in Mazal Vaddo: lovely restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, gyms, paddle-courts, yoga studios and the beach are only a short walk or bike ride away. If you are lucky, the cats will visit you in the morning, you may meet monkeys during mango season, and you can observe amazing birds – from tiny sunbirds to peacocks and giant kites in the old ficus tree. Thank you all so very much for having us – we will be back!

Best for a low key relaxed stay at Anjuna while still having awesome wifi connectivity if your working remotely. The in-house restaurant (Sheilla's kitchen) is a hidden gem amazing food especially if you like vietnameae cuisine and superb service.

Really nice place to stay and work. Had gone initially for 3 days, but ended up extending to a week. Saal is amazing, very prompt response and helpful. Chetan Bhai, the caretaker, was also so helpful for every thing I asked. The vibe is homely, nothing put on. The property is next to the main road so there is some traffic noise, but not overwhelming. There is a quiet and peaceful indoor + outdoor co-working space overlooking a field. Rooms are basic but well equipped: fridge, cupboard, private balcao, a working desk, a shower with solar heater (so its not instant and very hot like a hotel, requires some adjustment).

We had a great experience with NomadGao! The room was well maintained, comfortable and clean. Saal was always accomodating and happy to help out. I really enjoyed the vietnamese food available in their kitchen. Shootout to Sheila! Would totally recommend and stay here again!

GOATed experience. It's literally heaven for remote workers! I'll be back soon. Sal is an amazing host. Sheila's food is super super amazing (I miss the Vietnamese Coffee!) Chetan bhai and the lady (cant't recollect her name now😭) cleaning help staff were also really kind and helpful. ps: Can we please have a shared kitchen and small gym here soon?

My stay at NomadGao was excellent. Comfort, clean rooms, an incredibly helpful and kind staff (Sal goes out of his way to make guests feel home). The location is excellent. If you want quiet, I'd recommend getting a back room if you can. And above all, a young, vibrant vibe. Would definitely return.

I spent around 5 days at NomadGao and overall had a really good experience! First of all, the host Saal deserves a special mention — I honestly haven’t met a host who’s that responsive. You message him on WhatsApp and he replies almost instantly, sometimes before you even finish typing. I really enjoyed chatting with him and discussing his ideas on building the NomadGao community. The property itself is slightly secluded, which might work perfectly for some people looking for quiet, though maybe not for everyone. The stay was comfortable, and I ended up making some really good friends during my time there. The rooms are great, though I personally feel the washrooms could use a bit of renovation. The Wi-Fi and coworking setup are solid, but the network inside the rooms isn’t the best — something to keep in mind if you take a lot of calls. And lastly — Sheela’s kitchen is a gem! The food is delicious, super affordable, and genuinely feels home-cooked. I had most of my meals there and never once felt the need to go out. Overall, NomadGao is an amazing place if you’re looking to work, connect, and unwind, just a few tweaks here and there would make it perfect.

I had an amazing stay at NomadGao — planned for 3 days and ended up staying almost 3 weeks! Mayur, Sal, and the team are super welcoming, and the food at Shiela’s is delicious and homely. The coworking space is well set up with indoor/outdoor seating and meeting rooms. They usually host community events, and even though the community manager was away during my stay, Sal and other residents still organized meetups so it was easy to connect with people. The location is also great — everything is 10–15 mins away by scooter. Balcony rooms are spacious with stronger Wi-Fi but no power backup, while patio rooms are quieter with power backup but slower Wi-Fi. I got 20–90 Mbps overall. A shared kitchenette or microwave to reheat takeout would make longer stays even better. Overall, a cozy, well-run space that’s perfect for remote work and community — I’d definitely come back!

Good coliving with a good coworking space. Internet is really good (300-500 mbps) and the instalations are good. They have a great community where you can find everything and make some nice activities around. Finally, they also have a restaurant with a really nice food with good price, Sheila's Kitchen! :)

It was a coworking plus coliving space, and the experience was excellent. The location in Anjuna makes everything easily accessible - beaches, cafés, nightlife, all just a short ride away. Mayur and Sal kept checking throughout if all was good, which really shows the care they put into the place. The environment is super friendly, and you’ll always see people greeting you with a smile - it feels like a little community. The food was absolutely top class: freshly served, with a really nice mix of Indian and Vietnamese options. Definitely one of the highlights of staying here. I don’t know if a better accommodation is available in Goa if you are looking to work while there. Great host, great food, great WiFi, great location. The host and the relationship manager Nilofar are far too accommodating and hospitable than required. (Positively speaking). It was a pleasure staying there. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a very comfortable time at Nomad Gao. Spacious clean rooms, multiple drinking water stations, and a lovely restaurant with Indian and Vietnamese foods. The internet and coworking were great and made working a lot easier and productive! 💻 I didn’t fall in love with Anjuna but if you find the right spots and cafes you can have a good time. Can definitely recommend to get a bike from Nanu bikes to explore the area. ☺️ All in all this is a great space created for digital nomads and there was put a lot of effort and thought into it. 🙌

What a wonderful place to work for some time. The rooms have a high standard of living. Internet is fast and reliable, even in the rooms. There is a restaurant downstairs that has extremely good value for money food. And Saal the property manager is just amazing with his friendliness and service orientation. Also lots of amazing restaurants around. There was less of a community feeling than I had expected. But events are on weekends and I only stayed during the week. If you are a sound sensitive person the nearby street can be very noisy. Would definitely go again if I wanted to stay and work for some time.

Stayed for 3 months. Brilliant place, everyone who works here is great. Even when I was ill and couldn’t leave my room for nearly a week, they brought food up for me and checked-in on me. Loved staying here, wi-fi is brilliant too. My job involves me taking zoom calls pretty much all day and I had no issues with connectivity. They even have a 12 hour battery back-up for the wi-fi if there’s ever a blackout. Amazing for remote work.

I recently stayed at NomadGao Goa for three nights. It was a very smooth experience because of Sal and Chetan. The room had all the essentials that one would expect other than a kettle which is available in the common area. Very positive experience at the terrace area (workspace/common area) with good sitting options and ambience. There is parking space available. It's a quiet place where one can take a workstation easily, especially because of the good WiFi! Their kitchen is available from 9:30 am to 4 pm only, but the food is amazing. I hope the timings could be improved without affecting the quality. We couldn't be a part of the community meetings but hope to stay again in the future and participate.

Home away from Home. Staff is extremely friendly, rooms are nice and tidy, well equipped, washroom is not compact unlike most hostels and most importantly reasonably priced. Coworking space has inverter backup and is open 24*7. They have meeting rooms too. They have events planned on most days during evening hours. They also have an in-house cafeteria. Food quality is good, and is reasonably priced. There are few cafes and restaurants in nearby vicinity - Artjuna is 12 mins walk, Anjuna beach is 30 min walk. I would highly recommend this place to digital nomads. I am def coming back to this place again.

The high-speed internet was a huge plus, you'll easily get 100+ Mbps, and the reliable power backup meant that even during outages, work was never interrupted. Saksha, the community manager, organized an amazing e-bike ride through lush green fields, which was a beautiful way to explore the local area. Aneesa, who was visiting from the Dharamkot location, took us out for a lovely dinner and drinks at a great spot nearby. Saksha, Aneesa, and Saal were always eager to share recommendations for the best places to eat, drink, and explore. They genuinely listen and go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels at home. Sheila’s Cafe at NomadGao, serves incredible Vietnamese coffee that quickly became a daily ritual for me. The location of NomadGao is also perfect, situated close to some of the best cafes in town, making it easy to explore the local scene. What really sets NomadGao apart is the vibrant community they’ve built. After such a great time in Anjuna, I plan to visit their property in Dharamkot as well. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a seamless blend of work & community.

It was extremely impressive to finally see a co-living/hostel where everyone seemed to be respectful/mindful of the rules that had been laid out. They do have certain community led events which could ultimately help in networking/making friends. The staff is also great and helpful! Still missing the incredible vietnamese coffee at their cafe which is operational from 9:30-4 It's more effective to plan a long-term stay here. You will need to be a little strategic of your conveyance and meal arrangement before arriving. I do wish their bathrooms were better equipped and designed. Mine hardly got hot water and the shower head was missing. The lighting was low along with frequent power cuts. There is quite a bit of scope to improve certain facilities to make this place ideal but honestly, it's a great bet otherwise! I hope they make those few changes to make the experience even better :)

Nomadgao was a fantastic place to stay and work during my trip last week. The coworking space was excellent, and both Saksha, the community manager, and Saal were incredibly friendly. They both offered great local recommendations. Highly recommend!

Stayed at the property in 2022. The rooms and the location is good. The rooms are spacious, have good ventilation and are clean. The internet was bad in rooms but in the co-working area was good. It has a meeting room, nice and airy working space. Sheila's kitchen was a delight. The evening activities were a good way to have fun.

I've spent nearly a month at NomadGao and absolutely love the place. Everyone here has been so kind, from Saal to Anisa to Sheila to Chetan bhaiya. This place really feels like a home away from home. First things first, the location is great. It's right next to Starco Junction, with all the happening spots of Ozaran, Vagator, and Chapora nearby. They have a really great workspace with probably the best internet connectivity I have seen yet in Goa. The internet is pretty good in the rooms as well. But all of that is secondary to the sense of community that has been built here, and for that, I would really like to give my kudos to the community manager, Anisa. She's really the heart of the establishment, bringing everyone together, organizing daily events, and always has great suggestions for things to do in Goa. If you're a working professional and hostels are not your thing but you need the sense of community of a hostel along with privacy of a hotel, this is the perfect place. I would definitely be going to stay at their other property in Dharmkot as well.

Had a lovely 2 week at NomadGao in Goa! The staff go above and beyond to be helpful and welcome you but it’s not overbearing. There are lots of group activities to participate in but there’s also no pressure if you’re not feeling it. Games night was particularly fun! The cafe on site is really affordable and cooks up delicious Vietnamese and Indian food. The staff clean the rooms regularly and replace towels and linens etc which I wasn’t actually expecting! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi is great - I was worried about the strength and reliability as I do video calls all day for work but not once did it falter. Location is close to beach - about a 25 min walk and lots of nice cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re heading to Anjuna and want a grown up hostel vibe where there’s a nice community but not parties 24/7 😂 Thanks NomadGao team!

I have lived at this place for more than a month. As solo traveler and digital nomad I loved several things about this place, first, enjoyed the location but more so I enjoyed the community and the staff who did a great job to keep community together and made our stay comfortable. Internet was always backed up during power cuts, the only thing that can be improved the rooms in co-live sometimes internet did not have high speed for calls, while I never had the same issue in co-working area.

This is the most professionally setup coworking space I've seen in Goa. They have proper office chairs and invested in high-end routers for stable internet. Food options are amazing too! They have Sheila's kitchen downstairs (9am till 4pm, Monday to Saturday) serving the best Vietnamese food and coffee in India at very fair prices. Indian food options are also available. I love the boardgame nights here every Thursday from 7pm till midnight. They also organize other community events (like ice bath, bar hoping, karaokee, beach visits, etc), mostly Friday to Sunday.

Saal who reached out before I even arrived to make sure I had transport and was available throughout the stay. Anissa who was a ball of energy managing the community with drinking sessions, dinner seesions, took my out on her bike more than once because i didnt have transport. Sheila who makes great food- that could be brought up to the co working space while you’re working through the day. The co working space was fantastic, wifi never wavered with an outdoor or indoor airconditioned option. I consider NomadGao for the great wifi, back up wifi, workspace, etc. What made me stay long term is the great community they have built around the place.

It's a really cool place to stay. I usually go there for their community events - their board game nights are super fun and run by really hot hosts. The place is located in a cool green environs, thats pretty centrally located to all the fun stuff in goa. The place is really well kept and the people running the place are super helpful and considerate. Would thoroughly recommend for a stay, and would highly suggest checking out their events if you're in the area.

It can't resist the terrible goan internet. Frequent outages made my work here difficult. The owner tried their best to remove the issues but I dont recommend you working from Goa. If you are already here, this is the best option. Please take my advice and dont go to India to work remotely.

In February 2023, I spent a few days at NomadGao Anjuna in Goa and enjoyed my time. I was in a studio at the Secret Garden location, and I was able to get a lot of work done. The staff really couldn't have been better, they couldn't do enough for me. I toured the Villa Nova co-living and co-working location, which I think would be better for solo travellers. Secret Garden is down a long laneway, which is dark at night. I would say they need to ensure the studios have a good desk and good WiFi to make it an ideal working location. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance, but having a scooter or vehicle is a far better option for this location. Don't miss Artjuna Cafe!

I loved this place! I stayed and worked from here for a week. It has a very cozy vibe, there are several good restaurants close by, and the beaches are only 10-15 mins away. The rooms were clean and the wifi was very stable. Anisa is super helpful as a manager and I would definitely come to stay here again on my next workation!

The place is mislabeled a co-living, it really is a guest house that does not justify the co-living tag. Something that stuck out was how focussed the staff was on collecting laundry fees, welcoming the guests with details of the "penalties" and how much each service costs instead of focussing on the guests needs. I understand that it's important to share fees, but not as the first conversation with a guest. The community living element does not exist, they will welcome anyone who is willing to pay, not people who want to build community. This dilutes the community spirit. There is no access to cooking in a kitchen. The rooms are also below average for the price , with refrigerators that make noise, having to ask for toilet paper, and mattresses that had to be changed. Would not recommend unless there is a focussed effort on making it a place where guests feel welcomed instead of trapped.

Had a great time at NomadGao! The Villa Nova premise is very peaceful and the Portuguese home is a pleasure in itself. The location is accessible too, with ample space for parking. The co-working space is hands down the best. They have consistent internet, and really professional meeting rooms. Anjuna is prone to power outages, but there’s always backup in the co-working space which is a major bonus. In terms of safety as well, they provide a secure stay. Have attended two events here. A Pechakucha night and a Gypsy gig. Both were great evenings. The space is immense and people can really spread out, sit around in the staircases, relax, eat a roll. Would reccomend it for its nice chill vibe.

Quick review: excellent co-working space which provides living space too. People are warm and friendly and very caring. The place is well looked after, comfortable and well worth the money. Verbose: Situated in a beautiful well assigned, property is NomadGao Anjuna. There are currently 4 Nomad Gaos in Goa. I review the one in Anjuna. The property contains 6 individual bungalows, and one apartment block. Air conditioned as well as non air conditioned rooms are available. Fridges in all rooms. There are plans for an inhouse kitchen too. But food isn't a problem here, there are a fair few hotels within easy walking distance. The co-working space also has an air-conditioned area and a non air conditioned space. Both are simple, clutter free and provide a nice airy feel. My stay here was awesome. My son fell sick and gyan, one of the staff, made tulsi tea for him. Much like home. Super glad I stayed at this space.

It's a good place if you wanna be away from hustle and bustle of Anjuna and Vagator! From Assagao everything is accessible and near by! Shiela is the chef at NomadGao... She prepares Vietnamese dishes especially her vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine is a must try!

The place is located in an amazing area (Assagao) with some of Goa's best cafes around. The most important factor for us was a stable wifi (3 working people in a house) and the place provided that seamlessly (even when there were heavy rainfalls the night before, electricity was down and the wifi was running on an inverter). One of the big highlights of the place is the amazing breakfast and lunch cafe run by Sheila -- it is incredibly amazing, tasty and healthy food with a rotating menu. Highly recommend to eat at her cafe (in-house). The vibe of the place is nice -- no interference, quiet area, like-minded people around and the owner is quite friendly. The only downside for us was the extremely hard mattress, everything else was great.

Highly recommend checking them out if you're keen to work from Goa or even rent out their other properties for stay! I stayed in their private studio in Assagao and I can comfortably say that studio space had it all: 1. Excellent location - you'd least expect such a tranquil place close to the busy streets of Anjuna. Lots of cafes, bars, restaurants and convenience stores around which are open all-season. 2. Power backup and fast internet through multiple lines at the property (vital in Goa). 3. A functional kitchenette with induction stove, fridge, RO water, kettle and sufficient utensils. 4. Dedicated workspace inside the room but how can you not take advantage of working outdoors from their beautiful garden. Believe it or not, they have a plug point at every desk in the garden area. 5. Common washing machine and drying area for guests (at minimal additional cost) 6. A stepped verandah which leads you to your room. Perfect for those sandy clothes and slippers that you don't want to take inside.

The NomadGao Assagao and VilaNova properties and really beautiful! They're far from the noise and yet right in the heart of all activity! NomadGao Vila Nova especially is really peaceful, surrounded by trees with some of the most serene co-working spaces. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. I keep wanting to go back!!

Nomad Gao has been such a blessing! Meeting new people from different backgrounds & durations of being in Goa. ⭐ While some of us are regulars, some come in for short periods of time and Nomad Gao co-working - co-living facilitates for both! ⭐ Since I work from home, I use the 10 day flexi pass, that allows me to come in on days when I want a little more of an office / co-working vibe and work from home on the others. ⭐ Sheila's cafe is such a blessing for us who are stuck from one call to another. Everything is healthy, so filling and nutritious! we're all almost adopted children feeding from that kitchen! ⭐ The mix of a beautiful outdoor and indoor space allows you to get the best of both worlds 💙 ⭐ Mayur & the team have become like family over the months and while we are in curfew at the moment, I can't wait for better days and to be back at Nomad Gao!

My 45 day long work-cation in Goa was a very pleasant experience thanks to NomadGao. The co-working space at Villa Nova is absolutely beautiful and exudes overall good vibes. With high speed internet and comfortable work desks, I found myself highly productive. Not to forget that amid the pandemic, all steps were taken to ensure covid appropriate behavior to create a safe workspace. I also stayed at Villa Nova and the rooms were very comfortable and cozy. It indeed felt like a home away from home. The community at NomadGao is a very lively bunch of people. I am extremely grateful to have been a small part of it and surely looking forward to the next visit!

I've stayed at NomadGao for about 4 months now and highly recommend it. Mayur and his team take away all the pain of working remotely by making sure the internet's great, there's food always around, and that the accommodation is comfortable. This has allowed me to use my time in Goa to do all the stuff I want to do. As someone with an obsessive interest in nature, I've scoured the grounds for birds, mammals, and insects and haven't been disappointed. To date, we've had over 50 species of birds visit including some I had not seen before! Goa's also a great place to be if you like cycling. Every morning I get to cycle through forests and fields, down narrow lanes as nature wakes up. If you're looking for a place to work remotely that lets you do all the stuff you've been wanting to do, I'd highly recommend NomadGao.

Nomadgao is one of a kind experience, I had a comfortable stay at the assagao facility, the internet was top notch, no complaints there. I would definitely revisit in my next workation trip!

Guys, i stayed in nomad gao for around 4 months which are full beautiful memories and experiences. I made many good friends and business connections over here. Best thing is the high speed and stable internet connection without which I could not have done my Live streamings. I will miss everything from Sheila’s food to Sunday’s long drives to beaches. AMAZING!!! NomadGao is WOW! Blew my mind and really outdid my expectations. First of all, being a coworking space 24 hours is rare in Goa from my research (I know completely illogical but it's reality). NomadGao is by far the most professional coworking space I have seen not only in India but generally around the world (one of the other ones in Goa is literally an outside working space... cause we all know mosquitos are good work buddies... ). The AC is perfect, the space is perfect, the internet is PERFECT! We're talking 200 mbps here and the router is right there shall you need a cable or something. The coworking space has been bags, has coffee and tea and has a lot of great people. If you're taking calls it's fine it's quiet enough but not too quiet so if you do take calls you're not bothering ppl. If you are doing video jobs like English lessons then you can get a private room and work in there, Internet is even great there! But book in advance the rooms may already be booked seeing as the place is so great it's getting more and more popular. The dorm is super cheap and includes the coworking space 24/7. But most of all... the things that amazes me the most about NomadGao are the people. The owners are amazing and the food from the cafe is rare authentic Vietnamese food and soooo good! The whole vibe is so amazing and the community around the place is just WOW! the people you meet here are amazing and fun! Lots of local comere here too. I really suggest anyone working and staying in Goa to come here. Oh yeah and it's super close to anjuna and lotsa cool restaurants and yoga studios.

Fantastic place to work and live in Goa! the team is nice and welcoming. 200+ mbps fiber optic internet with a backup line. Zen room - where you can focus without any disturbance, also a lunge area outside. Pleasant atmosphere, quiet neighborhood, beautiful community, inhouse bistro with delicious food for very reasonable cost, but also you can use the share kitchen and cook for yourself. Rooms are clean and new. I’d recommend NomadGao to all travelers looking for a home away from home working space (love) Thanks for the great experience!

Honestly, can't tell the difference between a vacation and work when I am working here. It is absolutely lovely and serene. The co-workers are a delight to communicate with. Must reccomend for those in Goa.

We ended up at Nomad Gao totally by chance and couldn’t have been happier and satisfied with our stay there. Mayur and his wonderful team run an amazing co-living space that’s ideal for Goa. Well connected to the local spots in Assagao and Anjuna but at the same time tucked away in a quiet corner when you need some quiet time. We were in one of the apartments and it’s a real value for money, tastefully decorated and very well maintained. I would highly recommend Nomad Gao to anyone (solo/family with kids) for their stay in Goa. Though it wasn’t our reason for staying there, Nomad Gao is very popular with the digital nomad community and helps foster a shared sense of belonging and community.
