Absolutely incredible stay at Alt Chiang Mai – I honestly didn’t want to leave. ​ Gee, Cake and Khwan were outstanding from start to finish: warm, welcoming and always going out of their way to help with anything I needed, from small day‑to‑day questions to local recommendations and logistics. Their energy created such a friendly, homely atmosphere that made it easy to focus on work, relax, and connect with other guests. ​ The coliving and coworking spaces are comfortable, well designed and perfectly set up for remote work, with fast Wi‑Fi, plenty of spots to sit and work, and a really calm vibe. The location is also super convenient, with great food, cafes and everything you need within easy walking distance. ​ I’d highly recommend Alt Chiang Mai to any digital nomad or traveler looking for a welcoming community and excellent place to live and work – huge thanks again to Gee, Cake and Khwan for making the experience so memorable

I had a great experience staying at Alt_ChiangMai for a few months. The rooms are nice and clean, and spacious enough to stay longer. The working space is great and has a variety of desks. The community is what makes this place so awesome. You meet a bunch of different people from all over the world, and have a great friend group to hang out with while staying in Chiang Mai. The staff, especially Khwan, Gee, and Cake, were great and the events and activities they put on are excellent. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Für mich ist ALT_ChiangMai einer der besten Orte für Digital Nomads in Chiang Mai. Schon beim Ankommen habe ich mich willkommen gefühlt. Die Atmosphäre ist offen, freundlich und fast familiär. Mein Zimmer war gross, modern und sehr sauber – absolut internationaler Standard. Das WLAN war zuverlässig, und wenn es ein kleines Problem gab, wurde sofort geholfen. Das habe ich wirklich geschätzt. Im Coworking-Bereich konnte ich mich hervorragend fokussieren. Ergonomische Qualitätsstühle und zwei Steckdosen pro Arbeitsplatz zeigen, dass hier echte Remote-Worker verstanden werden. Die Lage in der Old City ist ruhig, aber perfekt für Cafés und Restaurants. Besonders wertvoll für mich war die Community: viele Events, gute Gespräche und echte Kontakte. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen. As a professional community builder, I learnt so much from living at Alt_. These guys are the world class benchmark for community living and I experienced why first hand. Their processes all the way from pre arrival to checkout make you feel like you belong before you even arrive. The place attracts true remote professionals with a great sense of community, events, adventure and fun! The staff helped me run two events - one at Alt_ CM and another at Alt_Ping, seamlessly. Shoutout to Kwann, Gee, JayJay, Pai, Amber, Stephen and the silent humble captain that is John Ho Which one to stay at: -Both are great with their own advantages. Community at both rock. -Alt CM closer to old city/night market/Nimman vibes. Feels like a nice professional co-working/coliving vibe -Alt Ping a little further out, BUT with a very vibey 'Nomad Friendly District' rising up around it. More spacious, small university campus feel. Has sauna and ice bath Cannot recommend this place and experience more if you're a digital nomad looking for your tribe.

Hipster-looking place with large working areas and beautifully designed rooms — everything is well maintained with great attention to detail. The location is excellent. But what truly makes ALT special is the team: Khwan, Gee, Cake, Lee and the community managers. They are genuinely good listeners and always do their best to help with anything you need. I stayed for about a month and a half, and the culture is what stood out the most. From the moment you arrive, you feel at home — part of a friendly, respectful and easy-going group. ALT attracts a really lovely mix of nomads. If you need absolute silence, just know the common areas can get lively at times, but nothing unreasonable — just the natural energy of a social co-living space. The owner, John, has built something rare: a place where community grows organically. No wonder so many people return.

I did a bit of a deep dive into co-working spaces, and ALT really stood out to me. The community there is incredible — I made so many friends during the 2 months my partner and I were there, which made our time in Chiang Mai so much richer. I loved that the space is open 24/7. The social activities — tea time with local snacks, ice-bath & breathwork classes, pizza night && more — plus the thoughtfully designed work environment made my time there truly special. The staff here really pay attention the well being of their guests. Khwan, Gee, Milla, Ploy took really good care of me and made sure everything was attended to. I wasn’t feeling well due to food poisoning and they offered some medicine to alleviate the symptoms. I had some issues with the room I was staying and they were kind enough to sort it out for me. The staff are extremely observant of their guest’s comfort and it shows in the reviews. Had some fun with the weekly pickleball activities😁 This was my first coliving experience and I think ill have a hard time adjusting to other places as ALT sets the bar really high🤭

いろんな国からデジタルノマドが集まるコワーキング&コリビングスペース。7泊利用しました。とにかく素晴らしい施設でした。月曜日に中庭で行われるミーティングでその週のイベントの告知と募集が行われるので、参加した方が良いです。ワークスペース、部屋共にWi-Fiはサクサク、仕事はかどります。施設は綺麗だしスタッフは気さくで丁寧で大満足でした。バスルーム付きの部屋に泊まりましたが、ワークデスクとコンパクトながらフカフカのベットが気持ちよかったです。シャンプー、石鹸はありませんが、フロントで買うことが出来ます。電動自転車が一台あり、空いていれば自由に使うことが出来ます。

I went to Alt to complete a very important online exam in the afternoon and evening. I was so impressed by the staff’s kindness! They allowed me to stay beyond the closing time to finish my exam (until 11.30 p.m), and they gave me all the information to ensure a pleasant experience. The environment is great, clean, and quiet. It has a super fast internet connection and charging stations everywhere. It would take hours to review this place there is so many great things about it . The accommodation itself is of a really high standard rooms are great with modern setup. Building layouts are great too you don’t feel trapped or isolated like you would if remote working in other areas. Ideal to have a coffee shop too onsite - little things like coffee In a glass not a plastic cup are great. Really fast WiFi and plenty of space for co working and to meet like minded people. I stayed here for a month, coliving and working. It's a very social, active, and well-maintained place with lots of opportunities to connect with others through (optional) events. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, they bring a lot of life to the place. And all the facilities were outstanding as well, in the rooms, the social spaces, and the coworking space. The access to the other coworking location is nice for some variety. The only downside was that the office chairs were too small for me (1.96m). I couldn't use any of the coworking desks because of that. The bench I worked from was fine, but I would've liked to use the desks since those were much better places to work from. Some variety in chairs, or removable head rests, would solve this.

I spent a month at Alt with my partner, and it exceeded all our expectations. The community atmosphere was incredible, with special thanks to Pae and Gee who went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. One highlight was during Christmas when they organised a "hunting elf" event where I won a voucher for a date with Pae. She took me to a hidden cafe that I would have never discovered on my own. What an introduction to co-living and co-working. This is probably the peak of how it should be done. I really enjoyed my stay here, especially given the proximity to Muay Thai gyms and all the good restaurants in old city. I instantly developed a sense of community and actually didn’t realize how easy it was to make friends with the staff themselves. Pae and Gee were very welcoming, I actually extended my stay in Chiang Mai due to how at home they made things feel. One big difference with this place is how you can propose different activities you’ll do each week, and how many people you meet quickly this way.

In a nutshell: this was a top-notch coliving experience, and ever since my stay, it has set the benchmark for every other coliving space I visit. From the coworking areas to the private rooms, the inviting common spaces, and most importantly, the incredible staff - everything about this place feels just right. The coworking space is designed with productivity and comfort in mind. There are multiple areas to suit different work styles, including a silent zone, phone booths, and the perfect balance between hot and cold desks. The desks and chairs are extra comfortable, and if you need a second screen, you can rent one at a super affordable price. They’ve truly thought of everything to create an ideal work environment. The private rooms are just the right size - not huge, but perfectly comfortable for both solo travelers and couples. If there’s one small thing I’d tweak, it’s the shower pressure, which could be stronger. The common areas are, without exaggeration, the best I’ve ever seen in a coliving space. There are so many great places to hang out - multiple TVs, a spacious kitchen, a rooftop, a garden, board games, and even a Nintendo Switch. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, connect, and feel at home. And then there’s the staff, who make the whole experience exceptional. They’re incredibly professional, always happy to help, and by the end of my stay, some of them became my friends. A special shout-out to Pae and Gee - you made my time here even more special! 💛 The Alt community is what truly makes this place unique. Before arriving, I never imagined I’d leave with so many new friendships. The people here are diverse, open-minded, and welcoming, making it easy to feel like you belong, no matter your background. The team has created something truly special here, and I know I’ll be coming back for years to come.

I stayed alt Alt for 3 weeks in February 2024. This is easily one of the best coliving spaces! The staff was very helpful and friendly, and helped organize social events with all the residents. The building is also very well designed, with great common spaces that facilitate making friends easily. Loved my stay, and I'll definitely return! UPDATE BELOW I ended up returning to Alt_ Chiang Mai for 6 weeks in January 2025. Much like my last visit, the facilities were clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In particular, Pae and Gee made my stay very memorable with their welcoming Thai hospitality! I highly recommend staying at Alt_ Chiang Mai, and I will definitely be returning for a 3rd visit soon!

If you stay more than 29 days you get 50% but have to pay your own electricity, witch is 7 THB + taxes =>> (so about 0.25 $€/ kWh || witch is expensive, normally it's 4-5 THB) It looked modern and comfortable, They seam professional and well organized. Staying at Alt for a month has been the highlight of my time in Chiang Mai. The amenities here perfectly cater to all the needs of digital nomads. I absolutely adore the varied and relaxed workspaces, from indoor office setups to refreshing outdoor areas. It's a joy to immerse myself in the natural ambiance while avoiding the harsh sunlight. One cannot overlook the delightful afternoon tea served twice a week. It's a fantastic opportunity to savor local desserts. Mondays are special at Alt as the community gathers for group discussions and activities for whole week. My personal favorite is the regular activity, ice bath—it may be chilling for three minutes, but the rejuvenation and enhanced focus afterward are amazing. The true gem of Alt is undoubtedly its people. John, G, Fang and Pae are not just friendly but also incredibly helpful. Engaging in meaningful conversations and forging friendships with them has been a highlight. Cultural exchanges are integral to my travel experiences, and Alt has excelled in facilitating them. I'm grateful for their invaluable advice, especially when planning trips to nearby attractions. And thanks to G, my memories of Songkran are filled with unforgettable and lively moments. Writing this makes me yearn for Chiang Mai again. Hopefully, I'll have the chance to revisit soon. Here are my heartfelt recommendations closed to Alt :) 1. I just returned from Chiang Mai at the time of this review. I stayed for a month at Alt_ in November 2023. It’s a great community where everyone is very welcoming, warm and friendly. You get to meet people from all walks of life. The owner John who facilitates the activities and is usually seen around is very down to earth, easygoing and genuinely loves to socialise. The place is kept spotlessly clean. All the staff especially Pae is very nice and helpful. The internet is superfast, reliable and was uninterrupted during my stay. I was able to get all my work done with ease. On some days I would work from my room and some days I would work from the co-working space where many others would be working from. It was a great balance for an ambivert like me. I feel like Alt_ is a perfect introduction to Chiang Mai to the extent that I loved Chiang Mai soo much that I continued to stay in Chiang Mai for upto six months when my plan was initially just a month. Chiang Mai is very developed with modern infrastructure yet you get the feel of a small town. Things are slow paced and it doesn’t feel overcrowded unlike big cities. John has recently opened a new location Alt_ping river which I was invited for a sneak peak and its looks very promising. Looking forward to check out their new location on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

Stayed at alt for 6 weeks and then kept coming back for monthly coworking passes as I decided to stay in CM longer whether you need to focus on a project or are in the mood to socialise, there is always somebody to hangout with, or quiet room/call booth to work from in peace lots of communal events, such as weekly family meetings, ice baths, yoga sessions etc etc chairs are great, greatly appreciated especially when you travel a lot and been working from airbnbs, work gets done here automatically staff is happy to help you anytime you need, don’t be shy to talk to them even if they seem having a busy time, they are more than happy to answer your questions home far away from home - that’s Alt.

I had an amazing stay at Alt_Chiang Mai and highly recommend staying here. Alt was recommended to me by a co-worker who also had a great experience. Everything about the rooms and co-working spaces are state-of-the-art, clean, and comfortable. It's obvious that a lot of thought and attention to detail was put into the design. There's a very strong community/family vibe to Alt. There's a "Family Meeting" at the beginning of the week, events throughout the week (e.g. ice baths Monday, Wednesday, Friday), and a group chat for people to communicate in. Everyone here is cool and doing something interesting. The staff (Feng, AP, Amy, Pae, G, etc.) are all super friendly, helpful, and fun. John, the owner, is super invested in the community and I hate to admit a very talented ping pong player.

Quiet Zone, Phone Booth, Meeting Room 등 - 조용히 방해받지 않고 업무에 집중할 수 있는 공간이 별도로 분리되어 있어서, 완전히 일에 몰입하고 싶은 날엔 조용히 혼자만의 시간을 가지며 Deep Work가 가능하도록 되어 있습니다. 사람들과 어울리고 싶을 땐 얼마든지 어울릴 수 있음과 동시에 또 혼자만의 시간도 잘 보낼 수 있어 정말 좋았습니다. 6. 화장실 샤워기, 세면대 물 수질이 좋습니다. 저는 코워킹/코리빙 스페이스를 전부 이용했었는데, 여기서 1개월 머문 이후 다른 호텔에 갔다가 - 한국에서 가져간 샤워기 필터가 1일 만에 바로 새카맣게 변하는 것을 보고 치앙마이에서 알트 수질이 좋은 편이라는 것을 절감하게 되었습니다. 노후된 수도관 때문에 치앙마이 수질이 정말 안좋다는 이야기는 출국 전에 익히 들어 알고 있었는데, 알트에 머무는 1개월 동안 샤워기 필터가 별로 안 까매지길래 - 태국 수질에 대해 잘 실감하지 못하고 있다가, 체크아웃 이후 다른 호텔로 옮기자마자 그날 당일에 바로 (^^...) 샤워기 필터를 1일 만에 새 것으로 교체하게 되어서, 그 때 비로소 태국 수질을 날 것 그대로 경험하게 되었네요. 코워킹 스페이스 말고 코리빙 스페이스도 함께 이용하시는 분들은, 수질 걱정 크게 안하셔도 될 것 같습니다. (전 그래도 샤워기 필터 끼고 샤워하긴 했습니다.) 7. 1층에 Bella Goose라는 카페가 있어서, 카페에서 조금 일하다 다시 코워킹 스페이스에서 일하기도 좋은 환경이었습니다. 8. 다시 방문하고 싶은 코워킹/코리빙 스페이스입니다. 저는 여기서 머문 경험이 있는 전 직장 동료 추천으로 여기 오게 되었는데, 한국 가서 다른 분들께도 자신 있게 추천드릴 수 있을만한 코워킹 스페이스였습니다 :)

Alt is the best coliving space that I have had the pleasure of experiencing. I stayed for 28 days in November and I have since struggled to find another coliving space in SE Asia which comes even remotely close to what Alt offers. What makes Alt special in my opinion is the community aspect - it is incredibly easy to meet people and socialise (as well as getting work done, of course). They use the messaging app Signal so residents can communicate and coordinate activities. They also hold weekly meetings where the residents themselves can suggest activities for the upcoming week. The staff are lovely too - big up Pae, Fang & AP! I look forward to returning some time soon.

The staff is lovely, really puts the effort in creating a community atmosphere and there are always interesting events to join. Highly recommended for coworking and coliving. I was only there for a month and it was my first coliving experience and it exceeded my expectations. The communication is professional, fast and they always pay attention to your needs. The staff Pae, Fang, AP and Amy in particular are so nice and lonely, they take care of everything super professionally and are also interested in the people who live there, so that friendships could also develop. They also have the best recommendations for everything, since they are locals. The stay was ideal for me because the workspaces were good and there was always room for activities. From day 1, you are integrated into the community and have no problems meeting new people and exchanging ideas both privately and professionally. The rooms are extremely clean, practical and functional and the grounds are well maintained. The check in process was easy (I checked in myself, because I arrived late). The internet is very good and there is great coffee nearby and in the Bella Goose. An absolute recommendation and an experience you won't forget!

Amazing! It was the first time I stayed at a coworking/coliving space and I am hooked. The rooms were super clean, the space very modern and well organized, the WiFi worked well, the staff were professional, caring and friendly and there were plenty of events organized to balance work and fun. Alt did a great job bringing together a community of like minded people and helped us easily connect. I am 53 years old, so not your typical nomad, but I felt i fit right in. My husband also was traveling with me and our children who are also nomads met up with us there over the Christmas holidays for several weeks and we had the best time. Our children are in their 20s and had a great time doing things outside of mom and dad, so didn’t feel we were on top of them, yet we had plenty of chances to interact as a family too. Speaking to other nomads who do the coworking/coliving circuit around the globe, they say that Alt is the best they’ve ever seen. Alt has set the bar high for the competition. My bed and pillows were comfortable and I enjoyed the cafe and desk spaces. Every day, there is something to join if you want. Stayed at Alt for 10 days and had an absolute blast. If you're looking to meet new people and/or co-work, its a great place to do it and is quite central in Chiang Mai. They also have a weekly Family Meeting, where the residents introduce each other and volunteers can sign up to plan/host activities for the week. Alt also hosts activities that you can join (ex. The pictures and descriptions doesn't do Alt justice: Yes the rooms look modern and clean as do the co-working space, but what made Alt_ChiangMai special was the people. AP, Mia and Top are the heart of Alt, and ultimately what puts Alt_ChiangMai above the rest of the Co-Living spaces out there. Spacious room, comfortable bed (I missed that bed seriously), so many space to store my stuff, clean bathroom, amazing community kitchen that have pretty much everything. Then the co working space is so good. Comfortable chairs, plenty of space, wifi, community events (do the ice bath! So fun!). The people that care about this place provide top notch service. They helped me with everything even booking a karaoke bar for an event. If you are a nomad and want to live in a coliving where you can meet other people and also still have your own space i totally recommend Alt Chiang Mai. I want to come back every year!

Where to start… I've been travelling for 2+ years, been to an assortment of colivings; and this stay has surpassed everything. John (the owner) has created a real home-away-from-home space with all the comfort you could wish for: the rooms are spacious, the beds are top notch; the shower is excellent; the garden is a great spot to hangout, and so is the rooftop; and the coworking has enough space for everyone, has both quiet and more social areas, a cafe attached to it, and of course fast and stable internet. Also shout-out to the wifi, which is available with excellent connection in every corner of the coliving; not this "can't reach the bedrooms"-nonsense. On top of that, John is also just a super nice, interesting guy. The day-to-day is being run by the nicest people you could wish for: they all made me feel so welcome and were always ready to help with whatever "im-a-foreigner"-request you could make. They are technically "staff" but very quickly felt more like very convenient friends who know everything. Events are organised/suggested by them, but the whole community is quick to self-organise as well. I could go on and on about the fun activities I did, the memorable nights out I had, and the new friends-for-life I made, but since this review already is a wall of text I'll just end it by saying: go here, you won't regret it. Bonus info: I would estimate most people between 25-35. Despite that age, the experience can feel not unlike a dorm/college campus/boarding school – which I personally enjoyed a lot 😆

This was the best accommodation I've ever had while travelling and working remote! The staff is super friendly. there are a ton of activities going on all the time, lots of opportunities to meet people you get along with well. If you need to put your head down and work, this is also perfect for that. The amenities are great, the upstairs roof area is nice to hangout at least during the winter. There desks and chairs are comfortable, and there are lots of alternative seating arrangements if you like to move around. The coffee downstairs is phenomenal! Really good and reasonably priced Cafe :) If you are big on sports and staying active, this place was perfect! Lots of nearby hikes. There is a group of expats doing Acroyoga (its a jam so it's free, open for everyone) at the park just a short walk south (corner of the old city square) every day at 4:30pm-7:00pm. The classes that run every day at the coliving itself are decent. The workout space has enough stuff to get a good calisthenic workout in, but if you want to lift heavy you can walk a short distance to a gym. also, the park mentioned before also has an outdoor gym with barbells. The breakfast isn't nutritionally comprehensive but with a few inexpensive additions I was able to make it work for me. They provided dragon fruit, bananas, apples, pears, mandarins, grapes, bread, butter, yogurt, milk, cereal, jam, peanut butter and nutella. I bought some oats, seeds, blueberries, avocado and eggs to supplement. The location is excellent, there are lots of food places within walking distance, and you can get around easily. Its also super convenient to be able to say "take me to Suan Dok gate" and the taxi drivers know exactly where you want to go (incase your phone dies or something). the temperature and weather during February was incredibly pleasant. It was literally the perfect weather. The deluxe room was really nice, Lots of natural light, storage space, and it really felt like home. The price for the deluxe room for a single person is quite high, if you want to stay around long term (>4 weeks) I would get an apartment. But it is 100% worth it for the experience, I've never made so many connections with like-minded folks in such a short time before. It felt like what I wish dorm life was like in university. I will without hesitation recommend this place to all my friends and when I visit Chiang Mai again, I will stay at Alt!

I am happy that my first time coliving and coworking experience started with Alt. Perfect place. Nice people. Amazing stuff. Everything new! I took the most expensive room and it definitely coats the money. Perfect location. Very comfortable work places with comfortable chairs. Good wifi. Cons: The registration took about 1 hour. I would like to know before it will take so long. Because i was really tired after long trip. So be prepared. The wifi always disconnects on my phone and computer when i didn’t use them and needed to connect every time. The password for wifi is only for 2 devices. But if you need more so just ask for it. The entrance to the place is with finger print but mine never worked so they gave me a password. Pros: There is a private chat for members so its super easy to contact with people and join and visit some noce places together. The stuff is totally amazing. They helped me with everything, like my laundry took 1 day. Suggestion: 1. Please make a room for video record. And podcast recording. 2. Maybe use name tags on shirts. Will be easy to communicate 3. Maybe suggest a sign on the work space if person prefer not to talk to anyone. Or opposite maybe he can chat and want to chat with people.

I cannot praise the set-up, facilities and people at Alt_Chiang Mai highly enough... What John and the Alt_team have created is truly special. They've managed to make a 'Co-living' space feel like a home away from home. I've been travelling for a while and seen a variety of different co-living spaces across Asia - but Alt has etched a special place in my heart. The specifics: - Fantastic (reliable) fast internet - Comfortable co-working space with ample space, quiet zone and call booths - SUPER helpful staff who are always at hand for recommendations and advice about how best to make use of your time in Chiang Mai. Special shout out to 'Top' and his endless supply of banana crisps :) - One of the most impressive leaders (John) I've met not just in the co-living arena, but in everyday business. His propensity to continually strive to improve Alt and enhance the experience for the 'co-livers' is inspiring. - Great community of people. Alt is the largest co-living space I've visited and my initial concern was that in a space housing '30+' co-livers it might feel 'cold' and 'impersonal' but I couldn't be more wrong. Everyone is super friendly, approachable and it genuinely feels like I made some lasting friendships here. Alt helps in connecting co-livers through a range of initiatives like the 'Family Meeting' - a forum held once a week for all co-livers to come together and recommend events for the coming week. During my time at Alt these included: 3 'family' quiz nights, a talent show, a Christmas drinks and nibbles evening, zip lining, rock climbing, hiking, too many dinners to count etc. There's also some structured events held regularly: ice baths, salsa and communal lunches. - Comfortable rooms - I stayed in the Ensuite plus and Ensuite rooms and both were very comfortable. Excellent beds and the rooms are clean regularly. - Good coffee shop attached to the building so you can get your morning caffeine hit. I look forward to catching up with the Alt_team during my next stay in CM and bumping into the Alt-family around the world...

Having traveled quite a lot across Europe and Asia, staying at a wide variety of places, from ratchet jungle huts to party hostels to Airbnbs to luxury hotels and resorts, I'd say that amongst all my travel-lodging related experiences, Alt stands amongst the best. First of all, for anyone looking to work while being in Chiang Mai, it's a no brainer to just live somewhere that also happens to be on top of and include access to one of the best co-working spaces around. I thought about staying in a hostel/hotel and getting a membership at a standalone coworking space, but (1) that's kind of annoying; and (2) my hours (American) didn't really lend to that making sense. More than work convenience, though, Alt's managed to create a really nice social environment that's relatively laid back. It's kind of like an upscale, social hostel for folks who are no longer in their early 20's, and you have a lot of folks who have been at Alt in the past coming to revisit or who have simply never left and are still there months in, which you'll see the appeal of after staying yourself. There are, naturally, a few naggles here and there, mostly layout related as this is the owner, John's, first such endeavor, but they're relatively trivial. For example, the only kitchen with a cooktop is right outside a couple of rooms, so some folks may not like getting assigned there due to noise/smell. The shared bathroom for flexie rooms requires a walk across a public area for people showering, which is a little funky. The coworking space itself is one large (supposed to be quiet, and usually is) area with an upper and lower area, and it has 2 call booths and 1 conference room; probably an idealized iteration would have a split quiet and not-quiet set up, with 1-2 more call booths. In any case, there's a nice blend of folks, obviously trending towards digital nomad/remote workers moreso than the backpacker crowd, with most people seeming to stay on average for at least 2-4 weeks, if not longer. Extending seems common, and a lot of former tenants who stay in Chiang Mai come to work during the day and hang out. There was a good vibe while I was there and a decent number of folks who were basically down to hang out and do things every evening and weekend. I'd say there were basically 3 types of people; (1) the shorter term stay folks who were more open to doing things all the time; (2) folks who had been there 1+ month and had established friends with other former or long-term tenants, who were cool but often doing their own thing and who had knocked out a lot of the touristy stuff already; and (3) quieter folks who were just using it as a base. I only stayed for a week but would have gladly extended my stay, circumstances permitting. Met some cool people and had a really good time while also being (mostly) productive. Would love to come back in the future!

What an incredible find in the old town of Chiang Mai! I was looking for a place with a community and having heard about the concept of coliving I’d been wanting to try it. And what a great experience it was, so much so that I extended my stay multiple times. Apart from the new and modern facilities, super comfy bed and fully functional working space, what really sold it for me was the community and the staff. A special effort is made to introduce new people and include everyone in activities (a lot of them being based at the venue itself so one can roll out of bed and go to yoga or ice bath), plus pizza nights, entering teams for races and impromptu outings which all help to meet people and build lasting connections. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly was the wonderful staff who all speak excellent English which helps so much while living in a foreign country. They truly made my stay so special, helped with anything and everything you could need from advice to recommendations to laminating, or just for a friendly chat, and I can honestly say they have all become friends. So if you’re looking for a safe, comfortable and special stay while in Chiang Mai this is the place to go.

Alt_ChiangMai was an experience in and of itself —for me, a life-changing one— which resulted in several long-lasting connections and countless memories being formed. After traveling for nearly a month and failing to settle and find an appealing place to stay mid-term, I found Alt by chance. From the moment I first laid eyes on the main lobby, I knew that was my place. All of the spaces are beautifully designed and put together, specifically with the idea of serving the needs of what we call digital nomads or remote workers. Just to name a few, the place is equipped with comfortable desks and chairs in all sorts of configurations, a meeting room, two soundproof call rooms, a lounge, a nap room, a kitchen, a roof with fitness equipment, a backyard… The rooms are also creatively designed and very cozy. Each of them features a unique word in a widely-spoken language, which just goes to show how much thought and love went into crafting this place. Still and all, the community is probably the main highlight here. I doubt one could find such a growth-oriented, friendly, welcoming and open-minded group of human beings elsewhere. Activities are being organised every week, both by Alt and by the community itself and hence there is always something exciting going on. Besides, the location is excellent, right in the center of Chiang Mai, with plenty of restaurants and stores nearby and the staff is incredibly welcoming and warm. I enjoyed my stay so much, that one month quickly became two months and, as a result, I didn't get to see the beach in Thailand, and I have never, not a single time, regretted my decision of extending. Staying at Alt is worth every single penny the monthly package costs. There is simply no place in Chiang Mai that comes close to it.

Alt is the best! Lived & worked here for 2 months and it’s a brilliant cowork/coliving space to meet people and work especially when you first get to chiang mai. Lots of events like communal lunch, the popular ice bath and yoga. The place is super comfortable, rooms are stylish, internet is super fast and the team are great people 😁 can’t recommend it enough

The concept of “co-living” is completely new to me - I originally only booked 2 nights at ALT because I was not sure what to expect - but the experience has been so amazing that I extended for another 2 weeks, then another month. It’s been a life changing experience to say the least, and to live with such a fun community from all over the world made me feel like I’m reliving my youth. I was honestly really sad to leave, and I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. Now I want to visit all the different co-living spaces around the world!

I was looking for a place to stay in Chiang Mai and found this one by chance. My initial plan was to stay for one month and then move to another location in Thailand. It turned out, the Alt_ChiangMai community was so friendly and the co-living so nice, that I ended up staying 4.5 months. I also recommended this place to a few friends and know people coming back to Alt with pleasure (including me!). Beside co-living and co-working space, they also offer additional activities like yoga, ice-bath, founders happy hour just to name a few. You will not get bored! If you are looking for a place to stay in Chang Mai, that has great vibe and the best digital nomad working conditions, then you are lucky. I am happy to say, your search is over. Don't even bother looking for another place, Alt_ChiangMai has everything you need to work, have fun and rest.

I spent a week living in Alt and it was excellent! Mia and Pauline are the friendliest most helpful hosts you could ask for. The living area is sleek and modern. The working area is comfortable and attracts some great people. I enjoyed that they held events throughout the week for residents. Everything from yoga, ice baths, nights out, and BBQs. For many people visiting or indeed living in Chiang Mai, finding somewhere conducive for work is important. There are things to consider… What are the people like? Are other members here to work or just appear to be working? Is it good value? Is it clean and well-designed? What’s the location like? Is the internet fast and robust? You get the picture, lots to think about and rarely do they blend well together. You always seem to be making a compromise somewhere. Amazingly, Alt Chiang Mai is one of those places which ticks very box and then some 🙂 The people here are wonderful. They’ve been welcoming and friendly and it’s a pleasure to see them when arriving. The other members are here to work and a wonderful diverse group as well. The internet is super fast, both up and down and the facilities are excellent. The design is excellent, with a quiet are, a bigger open areas, a small cafe plus call rooms, a meeting room and a nap room! Zzzz. What continually impresses is the cleanliness. Immaculate doesn’t do it justice. The lady who looks after the place is just wonderful. So friendly and speaks incredibly good English! Last but not least, the location. Just brilliant. On the edge of the old city, with a smashing Thai restaurant opposite, a coffee roaster and cafe down the street and even my favourite spa only two minutes away. It’s a so enjoyable being here and a huge thank you to John the founder making me feel so welcome. If you need a Co-working space in Chiang Mai, look no further. Highly recommended.

Really the best co-living / co-working space I've stayed at, so I decided to leave a quick review (and I get paid 0.00€ to do this). :) 1 month co-living + co-working package was priced at 455 EUR, which is a bit pricy in Chiang Mai standards but I would argue that it is worth every single penny. Why? Because for this price you get: 1. A cozy room (incl. gadgets like fingerprint room access(!), air purifier, Air Conditioner, big-size bed) 2. A co-living space (incl. breakfast(!), free water, fridge, micro-wave, cooking place, TV with a Netflix acc, a backyard where you can do yoga or workout). 3. Co-working access (which is on the floor below with a nap room(!), standing work tables (!), seamless Wi-Fi, a conference room and a city-centre location with cheap food for lunch and dinner, starting at 1.20 EUR/ dish). 4. A community of like-minded people (with events occasionally (ice bath, BBQ, yoga). For example in 5 minutes I'm going to a tea drinking party! CONCLUSION: ❌❌❌Not ideal if you just need a cheap place to stay for travelling in Chiang Mai (Thailand). ✅Perfect for digital nomads / content creators / programmers / freelancers who want a getaway place to work remotely in great environment + community.

I had the pleasure of a private tour of their co-living space today and I must say they have excellent facilities to serve the digital nomad community. On offers are personal workstations and private meeting rooms that are equipped with hi-speed internet to increase productivities. You can also stay in one of their many ensuites at a very reasonable cost. I especially like their various communal spaces where people can get together to mingle and share ideas comfortably. Follow their FB to see schedules of events they host regularly. This is a spot that should not be missed if you are looking for professional work space.
