I haven’t been to many nomad co-livings but can totally understand why everyone says Avalon special. It feels like home!

I spent 3 months at this brilliant coliving. After becoming a little stuck on where best to get my next coliving experience, which provided nomad community but also being close to a town/city, I luckily came across Bansko. I was here during the quieter season (between Oct to Jan) which for me was perfect - the hotel is so warm and comfortable and I got to spend most of my stay on the top floor with great views of the mountains and sunsets. There are also 3 great dogs always ready for your affection by the fireplace and always ready for a walk. Opportunities to hike, visit the thermal spas, enjoy supper clubs together and other things to get involved in were always offered - I liked that there was no pressure on what you get involved in and the invites were always coming. Being there in the off season I also took part in volunteering at the local dog shelter and joined alt space coworking to expand network. Can't recommend this opportunity/community enough- thank you Dani and James 🥰

At first, I thought Avalon just a short break from my traveling but I ended up staying longer and keep coming back - it’s a home for digital nomads, for anyone visit Bulgaria or for who simply misses the space! • Spacious common area - plenty of seats for working and lot of board games to play! Also the garden is lovely 🛋️ • Private room - comfy bed (some room type have sofa) and shower with consistently strong hot water, more than perfect 🚿 • Kitchen - fully equipped and the owner occasionally host amazing food events, unforgettable 😋 I highly recommend staying not only in winter for skiing but also in summer (actually every season has own wonderful charm). Only problem is the dogs at Avalon and owners genuinely welcoming make it much harder to leave.

Avalon is my favorite place in Europe and certainly one of the best coliving spaces in the world. Great rooms, superbly equipped with a large kitchen and a fireplace in the living room, and even a jacuzzi and sauna in the basement. Avalon also has three wonderful dogs who are always very happy when you take them for a walk. It's a wonderful place to live and it's always very difficult to leave. Thank you, Danny and James, for making Avalon what it is! I will definitely be back.

I stayed in the Avalon twice this year in Spring and Summer and will definitely be back (when my schengen visa allows). I've stayed in lots of colivings and I've not yet found anywhere that can beat the Avalon for value for money. It was previously a hotel and this conferes a lot of benefits - in particular, the living/coworking area, kitchen and the rooms are all spacious (the two rooms I stayed in also had amazing views - see photos attached) and it was easy to get work done. The location is great too. I don't ski so went out of season and the town was much quieter (which I liked) although there were still a lot of quality cafes, food shops, and restaurants open, and a gym with mountain views. The biggest highlight for me was the walking trails through the forest/river/mountain - 15 mins walk away. Dani and James have created a really positive and welcoming atmosphere and were always really supportive with any questions and advice on the local area. There are options to join hikes, community meals and events, but no pressure to. Finally, as previous reviewers mentioned you do really need to like dogs to stay here :-). There are three gorgeous dogs of different sizes and characters that you can play with/take for walks/cuddle.

🚴 Have you ever travelled halfway around the world and immediately started looking for a stationary bike? No? Well, Victor has! 🗓️ Wednesday 24th June, Altspace The Summit 📣 Victor: Finding A Stationary Bike in Every City What started as a way to get some exercise while travelling somehow became a personal mission. A quest for routine, the search for community & a slightly concerning ability to locate a spin studio in almost any city on Earth. Victor is a digital nomad, visual thinker, accidental Balkan resident, and collector of indoor cycling memories. Expect stories, unexpected life lessons, and possibly the first Fringe talk to answer the question: “Can a stationary bike help you feel at home when your life is constantly moving?” Come curious & if you’ve ever organised your entire day around finding a gym, a coffee shop, a running route, or a very specific type of oat milk…this one might hit closer to home than you’d like 😅 #banskonomadfringefest #banskobulgaria #digitalnomadlife #digitalnomadcommunity #nomadfestival

💥 The first of this year’s Bansko Nomad Fringe speakers is dropping!! We’re starting with a Fringe favourite alert! Every year Jaap turns up with a topic that sounds mildly concerning and somehow leaves us questioning everything we thought we knew. Last year he told us all about rich people and before that he warned us that AI was going to kill us all ☠️ This year he’s tackling something even less controversial 🙈 🗓️ Wednesday 24th June, Altspace The Summit 📣 Jaap: Immigration Everything you ever wanted to know about immigrants, crime and the great replacement theory, but were afraid to ask. When most people get anxious, they doomscroll. When Jaap gets anxious, he looks at graphs. Expect numbers, statistics, uncomfortable questions, and possibly the only Fringe talk where spreadsheets are considered entertainment. Come curious and definitely bring an open mind! #banskonomadfringefest #banskobulgaria #digitalnomadlife #digitalnomadcommunity #nomadfestival

The Bansko Nomad Fringe Festival is back on 24 & 25th June, and we’re down to our final speaker slots. This isn’t a conference. We’re not looking for business presentations, sales pitches or productivity hacks. We’re looking for passion 😍😍😍 The niche obsessions, strange hobbies, stories that make people laugh, think, cringe, or all three at once. Previous talks have covered everything from monkey sex and tantra to virtual truck driving and nomad parenting. So if you’ve got a topic you’ve always wanted to share with a garden full of curious humans…applications close 10th June (link is in our bio). Don’t make us fill the remaining slots with another tantra talk from James 🥴 #banskonomadfringefest #bansko #digitalnomadcommunity #banskobulgaria #banskosummer

Every year Bansko fills up with digital nomads, conferences and people talking about optimising their morning routine. This is not that. The Bansko Nomad Fringe Festival is where we put the weird stuff. The talks that don’t belong on a corporate stage….but instead the things people are genuinely obsessed with. Over the years we’ve had talks on tantra, monkey sex, death, life coach roasting, virtual truck driving and nomadic parenting. So…expectations are now dangerously high. It’s free to attend, donations go to Bansko Street Dogs, and the only rule is: No boring promotional nonsense. Save the dates: 📅 24–25 June Speaker applications open now: https://forms.gle/f2UPjHL932NzpDMo6 #banskonomadfringefest #bansko #banskobulgaria #banskosummer #nomadfestival

2025 — what a year it’s been ✨ Running a coliving is such an adventure, but what truly makes it special is the people. Doing things together, sharing everyday moments, and turning strangers into family has meant more than we can put into words. To our new arrivals, our regulars, and everyone who passed through and became part of our family — thank you for trusting us and for sharing this year with us ❤️ ❣️🎈 We’re so grateful for each and every one of you.

Bansko is more than just skiing. Beneath the slopes, the old town is full of stories, cobbled streets, and stone houses that never get old. Traditional mehanas and small restaurants keep the spirit alive with local food, made to be shared. Rich, authentic, timeless — Bansko’s old town always has something new to offer. #mountainlife #bansko #banskoskiresort #banskobulgaria🇧🇬 #colivingbansko #colivingspace #coliving #oldtown

Definitely not the snowiest first day of the season, but still couldn’t miss it. Grateful for the open slopes, sunny views, and the start of another Bansko winter ❄️❄️❄️
