Tuvimos una estancia agradable en el hotel. El personal fue muy amable y atento en todo momento, y la habitación estaba limpia, cómoda y bien equipada, lo que hizo que descansáramos bien.||Como punto a mejorar, el desayuno no fue muy variado ya que solo contaban con una opción, lo que se hizo un poco repetitivo.||A pesar de eso, la relación calidad-precio es buena y volveríamos a considerarlo para una próxima visita.

I couldn't have found a better hostel at for the last week of my stay in Ecuador. Everything about the hostel was perfect for me from it's location (the beach is less than 2 mins walk away) the 4 bed dorms with private bathrooms, free breakfast, which changes every day and last but definitely not least, the amazing staff. Special mention to Jackson, Alejandro and Meryl who all made my stay one to remember for a very long time, thankyou. Finally, the rooms are immaculately clean thanks to the hard work of the cleaning staff. Huge thanks to you too. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and can't wait to return.

Casa del Sol was very good to me, nice upgraded room, friendly people, good breakfasts! Nice hot showers. It was usually quiet for sleeping, and is located close to the beach and assorted restaurants. I also liked the traveller's kitchen, which was generally clean and well maintained, it is easy to make your own light meals there. The travelers were good too-wide age range, friendly, able to share good experiences, and generally mellow. They allowed me to use the yoga room for my own exercise/stretching routine, mats, weights, etc. It has a good breeze, which helps a lot. Good internet for remote work.

Definitely the highlight of my trip to Ecuador. My friend and I had planned to stay there for 1 week, but ended up spending 2 weeks instead. The location in perfect, right in front of the surf break, and only 10-15 min away from downtown. Quiet, but not too far from the nightlife. The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff wonderful. I had a truly wonderful trip to Montanita in 2022 where I spent several unforgettable nights at Casa del Sol. I've never been to a hostel that has such a welcoming, family atmosphere--when you stay there, you are part of the community. The location is incredible--very close to the surf break, and walking distance to the town (yet far enough so you can actually get some sleep). You can surf, party, or just relax--there is great programming there, from sushi-making nights to yoga classes. I have many fond memories of the beautiful lobby, with its many Buddha statues; its bar, where I spent many fond hours hanging out with new friends; and its staff, especially the bartenders, who made me feel at home--I still love all of you: Lauti, Franko, Jackson, Athena, Sandra, and Livingston, as well as the owner, Tamara. Anyone from any nation looking to find a lovely, peaceful, and interesting spot in Ecuador would do well to go to Casa del Sol!

I had an amazing time at this beautiful place!! I first booked 3 nights, then extended to five and finally to eleven. The vibe of this hostel is great, especially the owner & the staff including the Yoga teachers are lovely!! The breakfast is delicious (it always alternates between sweet & savory) & the dorm is really generous with comfy beds. The beach is just across the street, best place for watching surfers during sunset. What I loved most were the yoga classes, especially the Yin Yoga & the Fire Flow were great!! There is a class everyday, alternating from 10:30am to 5pm. I can highly recommend this hostel!

Overview: comfortable and well located accommodation, but it's pricey and has distasteful, inappropriate and ignorant decorations taken from South and East Asian culture and religion. Pros: - comfortable rooms with a great shower, AC and wifi - fantastic and hard working Ecuadorian staff who also cook up a delicious breakfast - location is on the right side of Montanita (the town itself is a bit gross, dirty and smelly) - good communal spaces to hang out in Cons: - the American staff are not particularity welcoming and are often stood chatting to each other. The locals appeared to work much harder - as an Indian Hindu I found the 'Asian theme' of the hostel distasteful and lazy. There is an animated picture of the sacred Hindu God Lord Ganesha riding a surfboard. This is highly inappropriate. There is a statue of Buddha in the eating area and paintings of Buddha in the bedroom. This is not appropriate at all as your feet should never point towards Buddha, and Buddha should not be present in places of 'passion'. This positioning goes against the spirit of tranquility and meditation that Buddha represents. I consider these acts ignorant and disrespectful from Casa del Sol. Gods are not fashion accessories. - it's costly, there are places to stay that are more economical. The activities are also pricey e.g. $9 for yoga and $35 for a surf lesson - you can find much cheaper providers if you walk down the beach

Lieu magnifique mais globalement très insatisfait. On est plus sur du business à fond (yogi, surf etc etc) que sur de l’esprit chill et convivial d’une hostel. - Accueil : A mon arrivée, j’ai été reçu par un homme qui m’a de suite dit qu’il n’y avait pas d’électricité et que ça allait être rétabli. Soit, cela ne me dérange pas. Mais je n’ai pas tout de suite compris (ne comprenant pas ce que ça venait faire là) ce qu’il m’a exactement dit ce qui lui a permis non sans insistance de se moquer de mon bad english sur cette unique phrase (à savoir que je suis bilingue). - chambre : sommaire. Rien de spécial. Si ce n’est une chose, j’étais seul dans mon dortoir et j’avais un bruit toute la nuit (toutes les 2-3 minutes) de qqch qui vibrait (je le sentais même avec des boucles quies) ultra insupportable. Impossible d’en trouver l’origine. - petit-dej : ayant fait un intox alimentaire avec des œufs il y a 5 jours je demande juste sans œufs. On me propose des fruits super! Sauf que la pastèque a été coupée la veille, a baigné dans le jus et a tourné. Quand j’en informe la patronne elle me répond qu’ils ont déjà fait un effort pour mettre autre chose que des œufs (je n’avais rien demandé en remplacement). Bref à 15$ la nuit je m’attendais à autre chose et au lieu d’y rester 4 nuits de plus je suis parti. - activités : l’ensemble des activités sont globalement plus chères que si vous fuinez un peu à Montanita. - localisation : c’est excentré mais c’est précisé donc pas de surprise. Cela permet d’être au calme.

Excelente, desde la atención de Jackson y todo el equipo, pasando por la ubicación a 50 metros de la playa, y a un paseo del pueblo por la misma playa, hasta los servicios incluidos (bicicletas gratuitas, desayuno casero) nuestra experiencia en este paraíso no ha podido resultar mejor. Se suele abusar de la frase "Sentirse como en casa" pero es que así nos hemos sentido desde el primer momento. Sin duda volveremos para disfrutar de sus clases de yoga, surf (gracias a la monitora por la paciencia) y el nuevo centro de masajes. Totalmente recomendable.

It’s the little things that make a difference: free upgrade to double room, beach towels and bicycles to use, full kitchen, drinking water free if booked via the website, bathroom cleaned daily. Amazing breakfasts every day!! No a/c but the fan does the job perfectly. The staff are so friendly and helpful with booking various bits direct - thanks Jackson and Lauti!! The surf class instructors, Osvaldo and Che, were amazing for a beginner too, very encouraging and kind. It’s better to be a few mins walk from the main centre of Montañita - you can the club music all over town until v late.

Really nice hostel, located next to the beach and at a 15 minutes walk from the center. So you escape the sometimes noisy center and are close to the beach. Win win. Rooms we're ok, they had a fan and a clean bathroom. They had a very well equiped kitchen, a nice bar and a garden to relax or read. There we're (paying $8) yoga sessions every day. Very friendly and caring staff. Breakfast was included and if you had any dietary restrictions they'd cater to that. Also rented out surfboards. Would recommend when in Montanita!

This place is amazing! If you prefer a more quiet and relaxed place - this is where to stay in Montañita. The breakfast was very good, every day different and its included in the price. I have to eat gluten free and they managed to serve me a gluten free breakfast every day. For one extra dollar a day you can refill your water bottle as often as you like. They offer surf and yoga classes. The hosts are very helpful and super friendly. The hostel have a huge shared area for chilling and a more or less good equipped kitchen. We stayed in a private room with private bathroom. The room did not had an A/C, but it was equipped with a fan, what was totally sufficient. The room was very clean and we got towels. Its 2 min walking to the sea and about 10 min walking to the center of Montañita.

Casa del Sol is a really cool hostel with lots of thoughtful and artistic details that went into it's construction. Staff was welcoming and friendly. My private room was very clean and cozy. Lots of spaces to work or chill. The breakfast was included and it was very good. Great location just one street away from the clean part of the beach. Where this hostel is located is where you want to stay in Montanita; the main area smells like a urinal, is full of mediocre restaurants, loud music throughout the night, annoying peddlers and it's filthy.

This place went way beyond my expectations, after 20 years of travelling, alone, and with friends. It's definitely on the right side of town (walking is only 10 mins away from the centre anyway) and it's been made so unbelievably beautiful!! Lovely vibe, great people, so much fun and it takes 27 seconds to get to the sea! Breakfast are free and healthy and so tasty. Practically it's ideal, you can work here, rooms have mosquito nets, you can cook here and also borrow a bike. Nice & chilled at night and full of wildlife (saw an iguana and hummingbird!) Aside from the hostel, definitely bring mosquito spray for anywhere along this coast.

The only place to stay in Montanita! So good here we stayed twice, and kept extending our stays. An oasis of calm on the Point. Tamara, Jackson, She, Lauti, Dario and the rest of the team are so friendly and helpful. It's super easy to organise top quality surf classes or board hire, Spanish lessons, and to drop into the best yoga classes in town. Plus casa del sol seems to attract really friendly people. And not to mention the free breakfasts are the best we've had in South America! Plus there's free bikes to cycle to Olon or into town. Will be back soon!

We stayed here over Charistmas and had the best time! We felt very welcomed by all staff and with the type of hostel it is you will meet great, likeminded people. The rooms were beautiful and the kitchen was well equipped. The hostel was also decorated beautifully for Christmas and felt very festive. Tamara was amazing for ensuring that we had vegan breakfasts and threw an amazing Christmas dinner! Her and the chefs cooked us separate vegan dishes for the meal! The common areas and bathrooms were also lovely and kept very clean. The only thing was the showers were often cold but that was actually quite nice after a hot day in the sun! We can’t wait to return for longer some day!

I feel lucky to have stumbled through the doors and into the arms of Casa Del Sol. Having had to change my travel plans last minute and finding my self getting off the Bus in Montanita with no idea where to go, a local kindly suggested I take a 2 minute cab ride down the road to this quiet cozy corner where I would find Casa Del Sol. I was only looking for a few nights of refuge, with plans of moving around the coast line. I was quickly persuaded by the people and vibes of Casa Del Sol, and found my self happily spending my entire holiday here, riding this wave. A beautiful yoga studio with great yoga teachers and classes daily. 10 steps from the beach. Some of the best Surf instructors essentially in-house. In the evenings Gabo takes over the kitchen and turns the place into a quality little restaurant. People wonder in from all around to have a quiet drink or two at front bar/desk before venturing into the night. The staff are all on the same page and keep things flowing with you hardly noticing. Though they will do their best to help and accommodate you when needed. This a great place where you can be as social, or 'to-your-self' as you desire that day, making it a good space for everyone. I spent 26 days at Casa Del Sol this December, made dozens of rad friends from the world round, and learned to surf! This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The people who run this place deeply care about it -- the attention to detail, the incense and palo santo drifting daily about the place, the giant buddha statue residing in beatific repose over your free breakfast each morning. Gabo, this cool guy of who cooks dinner, says the main ingredient of each plate is "love" and you can taste it. Located perhaps 800 meters north of town, it is quiet and laden in green plant life, making it the perfect paradox to the party scene of Montanita and the best of both worlds. Naturally, it is also right in front of "la punta," the best spot surf spot around. I very highly recommend it.

Mon choix d'aller à la Casa del Sol à été des plus judicieux. L'endroit se trouve dans un petit quartier au nord du village près de la Punta, meilleur spot de surf du village. Ce quartier est plus soigné et harmonieux que le reste du village avec plusieurs hostels avec un décor hippie new age, cours de yoga, beaucoup de végétation et de constructions en bois pleines de charme. Il présente aussi l'avantage d'être à l'écart des soirées très animées de Montañita tout en pouvant bien sûr y participer car c'est à 10 minutes à pied. En somme les avantages sans les inconvénients. Il y a quand même un bar ouvert jusqu'à 22h environ pour avec bières et cocktails pas chers qui permet de commencer la soirée à domicile. Les employés de l'hôtel sont super sympas, donnent plein de conseils et sont presque comme des amis pour les clients. Les petit-déjeuners inclus étaient délicieux et changeaient tous les jours. On peut également manger le soir, ce sont les mêmes cuisiniers talentueux et sympathiques que le matin. L'endroit se prête aussi bien pour les voyageurs solo que pour les couples ou également les travailleurs nomades (wifi de bonne qualité). Sont également proposés des cours de yoga, de surf et des excursions dans les alentours du village. Je conseille la sortie à l' isla de la Plata et la randonnée dans la jungle à Dos Mangas petit village à 10 minutes en taxi mais à des années lumières en ce qui concerne les habitudes de vie et l'ambiance internationale festive de Montañita. En conclusion, allez y les yeux fermés, vous ne le regretterez pas !

The staff are phenomenal - friendly, fun, and always super helpful. The yoga will lift your spirits and give you the 'courage muscles' to do things you didn't believe you could do. Add to that easy access to the beach and a constant flow of amazing travelers and you will certainly want to extend your stay :) TIPS to enhance your stay: eat a Gabo brownie, sweat it out with Tamara and She in vinyasa flow, give some love to the dogs/cats, jam put to a Lauti playlist then challenge him to Jenga, improve your Spanish in a class with Dario, and don't forget to relax with Jackson in Yin Yoga!

Casa del Sol brings the BEST vibes in Montanita, it is like a little community, with family breakfasts (served up by the legend Juanito), daily yoga classes, surf, plenty of comfy and cozy seating for working on your laptop or just chilling out. The gardens are so beautiful and lush, there are many hammocks for lounging, and the staff is amazing and friendly. Montanita doesn't get the best reputation but Casa del Sol is a destination in itself, I really felt like I was on a peaceful little yoga retreat. 100% recommend, and can't wait to come back!

Amazing stay at this fantastic oasis a mere 30 second walk to the beach. I had not planned on going to Montanita and made my reservation on the fly - literally on the bus enroute from Guayaquil - so I wasn't sure what to expect. The property itself is wonderfully decorated with a number of outdoor areas to congregate, including seating areas, a dining area and two bars. My bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water with good water pressure. People were friendly and it was easy to strike up a conversation with other travelers. A benefit for me since I was traveling solo. The best part of my stay however was Jackson and his amazing staff who were willing to help with whatever was needed, from setting up drivers, covid test for return to US, whale watching tours, giving advice on restaurants and every other thing you might need or want. A huge thank you to Jackson, Athena and the rest of the gang at Casa del Sol for making my stay memorable and a ton of fun!

As soon as my taxi drove down the short cobblestone road leading to Casa Del Sol my heart slowed and my mind settled. I knew I had made the right decision. Greeted in person by the ever capable and extremely knowledgeable Jackson who manages Casa Del Sol and the owner Tamara gave me a true sense of being welcomed. Located 20 m. or 1 block off the ocean and nestled in a forest of tropical vegetation Casa Del Sol has the perfect mix of sun and shade, beach and forest.||Easy walking distance to Montañita but yet far enough away from the excitement and party atmosphere to give you some peace and quiet when needed. There are all sorts of places to eat and drink close by as well as a sushi restaurant right across the street (yes really). Accommodations at Casa Del Sol are diverse and can accommodate the full range of budgets and tastes. Something for everyone. The breakfasts that are served daily by the very talented Juanito are included with the room and are exceptionally good. Nice way to start the day. The kitchen is also available for guest use if that’s your thing as well. Casa Del Sol is a top notch well run clean accommodation that leaves very little to be desired. Despite not having stayed at Casa del Sol, I attended their nightly yoga classes and cannot say enough good things about the establishment, the owner and the teachers. I was supposed to stay in Montanita 5 days but extended to 10, largely because of the people at casa del sol. You instantly feel a familial vibe there and even as a non-guest I was welcomed to dinners and group outings. Leaving the nightly yoga class, not only did you body feel amazing but so did your soul. I recommend Casa del sol to all: beginners/non-yogis (like me) and advanced practitioners. Thank you for the incredible experience… I will definitely be back :)

Pros: Peaceful part of the Montanita beach. About 5-10min by walking to the town (where it gets noisy in the evening). Hostel is about 50m from the sea, so 1min walking. Hostels grounds is nice, with buddha statue and lush surroundings! We had top floor private room number 10, which had huge comfy bed. Spacious and hammock outside of the room. 👍 Really old aircon machine in the room, it gets the job done, but it is super noisy. Cannot keep it on during the night without earplugs! Bf varies daily and it’s nice! Daily joga classes are good, cost 8usd pp. Waterpressure was nice and shower warm! ||Cons: They are building new area to the hostel at the moment so sounds of that may be annoying (gonna be ready though at some point!). Aircon is seems to be really old and the laudest I’ve ever countered. Rooms dont have safes. Wifi is what is, not the best. Didnt like that much that one member of the staff (i think at least) were smoking (not tupacco) at the front desk. This was only one time and otherwise the staff was amazing! ||Overall: really nice joga place for surfing and relaxing! Staff is amazing! We felt it was a bit pricy compared to the other places, but check it out yourself! Would definitely stay here again!

Cada del Sol? More like Casa of your dreams! Such a beautiful mini resort in the heart of the surf central in Montañita. Less than a minute walk to the beach. Great hostal with great people and awesome vibes. My husband and I stayed here 3 nights and it was pure bliss. Very clean, beds are super comfy and there’s a crisp breeze that keeps the temperature nearly perfect day and night. The breakfast included is also delicious; healthy balanced meal in the morning to kickstart your day. The house pets are also the cutest little cuddle babies ever. So sweet. Couldn’t recommend this place enough ❤️

They have in house yoga thats so good, a whole bunch of locals stream in daily. Food is awesome. Surf boards on site and right across from the beach. Casa Del Sol is ideally located close to the beach, (20-second walk ) but a short walk away ( 9 mins, I timed it) from all the bustle of Montanita. It's a good vibe..... if you want to make some friends at the bar or choose to be less sociable and relax in your hammock reading your book. both are available to you. I can't remember a time when staff have been so attentive to your needs, and not because its their job, but because it seems to be more in their nature. Good food available, surfboards for hire. Good chocolates to buy at reception.... I imagine that's less of a prerequisite for most people, but it seemed to be important to me haha I recommend Casa Del Sol to anyone looking to stay in Montanita

I was disappointed by my stay here. My head was a bit all over the place before I arrived and I was looking forward to chilling out. I don't usually spend this much on hostels but decided to make an exception for a night or two. A big part of the reason I chose the stay was the beautiful yoga room. My plan was to spend an afternoon doing yoga, dancing, and hula hooping as this usually helps to clear my mind and I haven't been able to do this in a long time. The morning after my first night, there was a yoga class until 12pm. At 12.30 I asked could I go to the yoga room now and spend a few hours there. I was then told that the yoga room is not available for general use. Not available for general use??? As you can see above, their title inclides eat.sleep.yoga.surf, and this is on a big sign outside the hostel too. Their marketing heavily heavily features pictures of the yoga room, I was shown the yoga room when I first arrived, and their website says it is a "space for self practice". I feel like all this should come with an asterix *terms and conditions apply, yoga room is not available for personal practice, only available 1-2 hours per day during scheduled classes, $8 per class. In my year of travelling I've never stayed in a yoga hostel where they do not let customers use the yoga room. When I tried to have this conversation with them they made me feel like it was weird that I would be expecting to be able to use it. They said twice or three times that it doesn't explicitly say on the website that it is available for use. One of the women told me I was welcome to use the surfboard storage room, or to move some furniture and make a space for myself in the common area Obviously I'm not going to do that. I'm not travelling with a yoga mat so I need access to the equipment, and I also don't want to do yoga/dancing/hooping, any of that in public. After a bit of back and forth they did let me use it for half an hour before the cleaning staff were due to come in to wax the floor. A rushed half an hour didn't really help my mindset at all as it's hard to get into the flow when you are watching the clock. The attitude was as though I was being unreasonable, which I really didn't feel like I was. Apparently they had some issues with yoga equipment and money going missing from the room. Which first of all is not my problem, second of all why were you keeping money in an unsupervised room, third of all put the equipment away. It wouldn't be that difficult to buy a cabinet and put a lock on it. Then you can have a person write down that they take and charge them if they don't bring it back in good condition. It was a weird experience overall. I still give it 2 stars because the bed was comfy enough, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was a decent portion. But the WiFi was pretty patchy. And the WiFi worked fine in the hostel next door where I went for dinner one evening. So it's not an area thing, it's just their problem. Anyway, rant over. I'm moving to a much much cheaper hostel today as this one is just not worth double the price of a lot of other hostels in town.

This is not a "calm yoga hostel" as you might think, its just another party hostel. Fine. Just then dont write om the website "Providing our guests with a comfortable and tranquil place to sleep" if you are playing loud music and screem in the bar after 10pm, thanks. You can not expext to go to bed early and have yoga at 6am. Not all rooms got real AC (even if the only picture on their website of "private room" shoes an AC) so when booking remember to ask for a room with aircon, not a fan (nobody will ask you about it), and you will be fine when you get to sleep late night in the tropic heat. And finally, watch up for the owner. She can have a very defensive attitude if you have something to complain about and will tell you its your own fault.

Os quartos são espaçosos e bem arejados. O hostel possui boas áreas em comum: bar, redes e outros, sendo propício para fazer novos amigos, além de oferecer café da manhã. A localização é excelente, fica à 2 minutos da praia mais próximo da ponta e 10 minutos andando do centro, o que é excelente pois no centro há muitas festas e o barulho é alto.

I have stayed at Casa del Sol eight times over the past 5 years, and am looking forward to my ninth stay this June! Clean & comfortable, with rustic charm. AMAZING YOGA! Delicious hot breakfast, onsite laundry & the friendliest, most welcoming bar! Right across the street from the best right-hand point break in Ecuador, it is a surfer's paradise. Close enough to town it's an easy walk down the beach, but far enough away to be quiet at night. Of course, it's the people that make the experience and the staff are all super friendly, helpful & kind. I love Casa del Sol and the familia, and I can't wait to return <3

I didn't stay here, just hung out with the guests and at the bar. Never heard a bad thing about the place. Met the owner, super nice and helpful. The bartender was hilarious and made everyone feel like part of a big family. Beers were cheap.

Definitivamente tengo que decirlo, es la mejor conexión a Internet que he encontrado en toda Ecuador, el lugar es muy agradable, las personas son muy serviciales y atentas. el desayuno es rico, y la ubicación es perfecta si buscas relajarte, justo a unos pasos de la playa y a 10 minutos caminando del centro (por la playa o la via principal)

Es un lugar cómodo para descansar. Es rústico pero lo mantienen limpio, hacen aseo diariamente en las habitaciones. Tiene un espacio común para descansar y comer, y te dan el desayuno. La comida es rica y local. Los encargados hablaban poco español, pero me parecieron amables. De ambiente relajado, puedes descansar del ruido, y además está a pasos de la playa y a unos 10 minutos del centro de Montañita. Hay bares y negocios cerca. Creo que fue el mejor lugar donde me quedé, lo único que no me gustó es que sólo tenían ventilador en la habitación, y era oscura. De todas formas hay hamacas y otros lugares para relajarse.

Abbiamo passato una settimana alla Casa del Sol, su consiglio di Tripadvisor.||La struttura si trova circa 1 km fuori dalla città e dal movimento, il che potrebbe sembrare scomodo. Invece ciò si rivela positivo, in quanto è molto tranquillo a differenza delle strutture/ostelli situati in centro (10 minuti a piedi), dove la musica alta e il "divertimento" la fanno da padroni. ||La struttura si rivolge principalmente a surfisti e a chi vuole praticare lo yoga (vengono proposte giornalmente lezioni), ma anche per chi vuole fare unicamente "vita da spiaggia" come noi, infatti il mare dista solo una cinquantina di metri (ci sono anche un paio di buoni ristoranti nelle vicinanze).||Le camere sono un po' buie e piccole (senza aria condizionata) e un po' care (20$a persona) rispetto alla media, ma tutto ciò viene compensato dall'atmosfera rilassata che si respira negli spazi comuni. Colazione varia, ogni giorno qualcosa di diverso, tutto fresco e cucinato sul momento. Il wifi funziona ottimamente negli spazi comuni.||Mike e Jackson sono simpaticissimi e gentili e si sono prodigati in utili consigli sulle varie attività presenti in zona, inoltre una sera hanno organizzato una grigliata "comune" dove ognuno poteva portare il cibo e loro si occupavano di cucinare. Vengono pure organizzate proiezioni serali di film su maxischermo.||Insomma, un posto "giovane" e dinamico, ma assolutamente tranquillo per quanto riguarda il sonno.

Ich war für einen Monat in Montanita und erlebte eine super tolle zeit! Die zimmer werden jeden tag geputzt, jeden morgen tolles frühstück und am abend entspanntes bier trinken an der bar. Man fühlte sich sofort zu hause und aus fremden wurden freunde! Gracias por todos! (spanischschule auch sehr empfehlenswert ;))

I had the most incredible time at Casa Del Sol! Made my Montanita experience. I will definitely be back. My room was comfortable and came with all my required amenities. The staff was super friendly and helpful with everything the hotel has to offer... rooms, yoga, spanish and surf... They also guided me around town. Helped me find the cool spots to party, where to get a good massage and the best restaurants to be found. If you're looking for a 'backpacker' type hostal with awesome people and ambiance, do yourself a favor and book in at Casa Del Sol. :)

Me hospede con 3 amigas en casa del sol en enero, un hostel impecable! Eramos 4 y en la habitacion entraban comodas 6 personas! Muy limpio y amplio con dos baños. La gente es super amable, si bien son canadienses jackson habla perfecto español! Jackson es lo mejor que tiene casa del sol, super servicial y buena onda, nos ayudo en absolutamente todo! Los desayunos super abundantes, la zona del hostel es la mejor, re tranquilo y cerca del centro, mas o menos 5 cuadras por la ruta. Si van a montañita no se hospeden en el centro! Hay ruido las 24 hs del dia, y eso que nosotras somos jovenes y fuimos de fiesta pero alojarse en el centro No esta bueno! Lo unico que le critico al hostal es la cocina un poco sucia, pero llevense su propio repasador y listo! Vallan a hostal casa del sol!!

Dit hostel ligt in het rustiger gedeelte van Montanita, maar je kunt nog steeds het nachtleven induiken. De eigenaresse is ontzettend aardig, evenals de rest van het personeel. Via het hostel kun je ook SPaanse les en yoga regelen. Ideaal!

Ich dachte 2 - 3 Tage reichen, um Montañita zu sehen. Bin aber schlussendlich 2 Wochen geblieben...wegen Casa del Sol! Die herzlichen Mitarbeiter und die familiäre Atmosphäre geben einem das Gefühl zu Hause zu sein und machen es unmöglich zu gehen.||Casa del Sol befindet sich am Ende des Strandes "la Punta" und an ruhiger Lage. Das Zentrum, mit vielen Bars, Restaurants, Discos und der Cocktail-Strasse, ist jedoch zu Fuss (Strand oder Strasse) in 10min zu erreichen. Die Reception ist zugleich die Hausbar und das kreative Menü-Board läd zum Verweilen ein. Die Zimmer sind gross und sauber. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Ausserdem bietet Casa del Sol Surf- und Yoga-Lektionen an. Beides ist sehr zu empfehlen!||Ich habe eine unvergessliche Zeit in Casa del Sol verbracht - Vielen Dank für den grossartigen Aufenthalt!!!

Va a Montañitas vá sem medo td que a propaganda em sites disserem não acredite pois lá é muito melhor.

Casa Del Sol is incredible! Staying there is like spending time with family in paradise. Whether it's surfing daily, learning Spanish, taking a yoga class or sitting around the common areas and chatting with the myriad of interesting travellers it feels good to be there. The rooms are clean, well maintained and are a welcomed spot to sleep in peace and quiet after a night out on the town. The breakfasts are great. Unlike other Hostels in Ecuador that advertise breakfast and simply give you a roll with jam, Casa Del Sol serves amazing and healthy breakfasts every day. I spent over two weeks there with my son and I can't wait to get back and hang out with the gang. See you soon Casa Del Sol!!!

This place was wretched. Mold everywhere. We pre-booked this hostel in March 2014. 50% deposit via Paypal only was required, non refundable within 72 hours of arrival. Arriving late in the afternoon, we would not have checked in if we had not already prepaid the required 50% deposit. We were greeted by a nice guy from Canada who showed us to our room and the the real pleasantries began. Simply put: How do you spell pigsty? C A S A d e l S O L. This is THE most disgusting filthy place we have ever stayed. We felt stuck not only because they had our money but because it was late in the afternoon and we did not know where to go. The bedding was stained, pillows were lumpy and we later learned it had bed bugs.The curtains were held up by some odd pieces of wire. Light switch was not attached to the wall just left hanging by its electric wiring.. Walls were filthy. Bathroom floor was filthy with body hair. Mold was on the walls, floor, shower, sink, everywhere you looked there was mold. The vinyl, padded toilet seat looked like someone had set off some fireworks on it. It was all tattered, torn and filthy. The room looked like it was assembled entirely from trash collected at a dump heap - honestly. We found better digs just across the street and down a few doors early the next morning. Unique Qualities: Mold, bed bugs, total indifference to patron's comfort or health, breakfast consisting of coffee and daily entry, no choice, no juice. Yoga classes (are you kidding me? Yoga at this place? Why? No, seriously. why?) to music that sounds like a Muslim call to prayer. Additionally, this place is NOT on the beach. It is across the street behind the hostels that are on the beach. There is no beach view.

Nous avons passé 10 jours dans cet Hostal yoga / surf a 20 $ par personne la nuit.||Si nous mettons la note "médiocre" ce n'est pas dû à L'hotel mais du a l'accueil que nous avons eu.||L'hotel est vraiment bien placé à 15 min de Montanita, au bord de l'eau, au calme, les chambres sont biens et propres et le petit déjeuner de Juanito est magnifique. ||Mais, le problème c'est la patronne. Elle parle de son hôtel comme une maison de famille mais on en est loin ...||Cet hôtel est fréquente que par les canadiens, les américains ou australiens. Si vous n'êtes pas d'une de ces nationalités, la patronne ne vous considère pas.||Elle ne gère pas du tout son Hotel, dès qu'il y a un problème (par exemple avec la douche) elle vous répondra sans vous écouter qu'elle n'a jamais entendu parler et que ce n'est pas de sa faute. Heureusement que Juanito est là pour tout gérer. ||Nous avons eu l'impression de la déranger tout le temps. ||Quelle déception... Nous n'avons pas profitez ni du yoga ni du surf, car mal grès nos 10 nuits nous n'avons eu aucun discounts, ni sur le surf, ni sur le yoga. ||Nous sommes honnêtes et nous avons quand même passé un bon moment dans cet endroit, mais pour le prix on s'attend à un peu plus d'attention (aucun tips sur la ville et les excursions) et de sourire.||La patronne gagnerai plus a être plus aimable. ||Pour les cours de surf, ne passer pas par l'hôtel, plus cher et moins bien. Vous trouverez une super école de surf sur la plage juste à côté (20$ les deux heures à deux). Pour le yoga, il paraît que les cours sont bien mais 8$ le cours ( casi le même prix en France) ||Je ne conseille pas l'hôtel mais je ne le déconseille pas non plus.

Wir waren für ca einen Monat in Montanita - Casa del sol. Unsere Zimmer waren groß aber das Badezimmer war leider nicht sehr sauber. Die Dusche, das WC und das Waschbecken in einem der Zimmer waren leider undicht und im anderen Zimmer war es nicht möglich ohne Flip Flops zu duschen. Die Betten sind hart und bei manchen spürt man jede einzelne Feder. Das Frühstück hingegen war absolut genial und abwechslungsreich. Juanito ist ein super Frühstückskoch und war jeden Tag extrem freundlich. Die Lage war für uns perfekt, da es nicht direkt im Zentrum ist aber trotzdem zu Fuß in 5-10 min. gut erreichbar ist. Ebenso ist man nur 20 m vom Strand entfernt. Auch wurden wir sehr freundlich begrüßt und aufgenommen. Grundsätzlich würden wir das Casa del sol nicht empfehlen, da das Preisleistungsverhältnis nicht passt. Jedoch hatten wir eine wunderschöne Zeit in Montanita. ||||Ps: Robin is the best - f*** the rest! haha :)

Sono stata qui ogni giorno durante il mio soggiorno a Montanita (4 settimane), per le lezioni di Yoga. A parte la professionalità delle insegnanti, indiscutibile, il solo fatto di fare lezione in una stanza sopraelevata completamente in bambù, e vista oceano rende l'esperienza mille volte più rilassante. Inoltre abbiamo fatto una special class con una coppia di insegnati (marito e moglie), davvero preparati e gentilissimi, e ho provato nuove posizioni molto impegnative (handstands-verticale sulle mani). Indimenticabile.

Perfect voor rustige nachten in het levendige montanita. Alleen al het ontbijt maakt verblijf de moeite waard, net als de vriendelijkheid en betrokkenheid van al het personeel. Erg gemoedelijk, mooi gelegen en betrouwbaar. Hostel gekozen vanwege goede beoordelingen op tripadvisor en terecht. Dit was de beste keus die we hadden kunnen maken!
