I was such a fan of the original concept; I spent some of my best years at the house! And that's why I'm so critical of the direction the house is taking and their housing management. Today, by unilateral decision of the company, the co-opting system has been eliminated. Now, anyone with a bad temper or ill intentions can come and live in your house, in the room next door. The co-opting system is the opportunity to meet your next housemate, and for the next housemate to meet you. It's an essential feature for feeling at home; knowing and choosing the person you're going to live with is THE factor that allowed our house to be so close-knit and have such a fantastic atmosphere. Eliminating the co-opting system means eliminating the feeling of being at home with people you like. Doing it without even talking to us is simply unacceptable. Without co-optation, frankly, there is no point in staying at home compared to the competition (cohabs, Coloniz, coliv).
