We had three wonderful weeks with Philipp and Sarah. This place is a meeting place for very warm and interesting people who love combining work and vacation. The rooms are very well equipped for digital work, and there are even two coworking spaces. There are plenty of places to sit and work, and the internet is very fast. The breakfast is delicious and prepared with love. We were especially looking forward to our coffee from our favorite barista every morning. The region has so much to offer, whether you're interested in sports or just relaxing with a drink – the choice is huge. We will definitely be back! 😀💕

What a beautiful place! Stayed at Franz & Mathilde during the winter season and learned how to ski! I immediately felt at home at the wonderful house in the lovely village. Big plus for the great coffee! ☕️ Would love to come back!

Franz & Mathilde has become one of my favorite places this year. Sarah and Philip are incredibly warm hosts and simply wonderful people. Philip is also a gifted barista and serves the best coffee in South Tyrol. Waking up in the mountains every morning is the perfect way to start the day, and the opportunity to climb some of Europe's most breathtaking mountains after a short drive is fantastic. Here you also meet the nicest people from all over the world and perhaps even make lifelong friends. Weekly activities are organized by travelers or Philip. From via ferrata climbing and barbecues to yoga and volleyball, there's something for everyone. Philip and Sarah have created something truly special here, and I highly recommend staying longer. You might find yourself like me and never wanting to leave. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and seeing everyone again.

I visited Franz and Mathilde for the first time – and I’ll definitely be coming back.This place is warm, welcoming, and genuinely inviting.It’s a joy to work in such an atmosphere while still enjoying the benefits of a vibrant community and its activities. The only downside: the morning coffee is so good that I'm now spoiled and can no longer enjoy my own coffee at home.

A beautiful, intimate place with a view of the mountains. Philipp, the host, puts his heart and soul into his guests' lives: whether it's his barista creations, his hiking tips, cooking dumplings and apple strudel together, roasting chestnuts over the campfire, ordering pizza for guests, or recommending the garage next door if you have car trouble. We felt completely at home, had a fully equipped workspace at our disposal, and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and generous vegetarian breakfast with bread, cheese, muesli, croissants, and honey from the neighbor. Tea and water are available all day, and there's parking right outside. The vibe in the house is always very pleasant; you meet nice people with whom you can chat, spend evenings, and have fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our workation and our first co-working experience.

We had a fantastic stay at Franz & Mathilde. The coffee was exceptional, and Philipp’s barista skills truly stood out and made every morning a highlight. The view is absolutely beautiful, and the location couldn’t be more perfect. There are endless options for places to visit or activities to enjoy nearby, making it the ideal spot for both relaxation, work, and adventure. Highly recommended!

VanDocking at Franz & Mathilde's is a gift. There's a fantastic community with whom you can cook and chat together, but also have a space to retreat to at any time. It's ideal for working and relaxing, with a special atmosphere that immediately catches your eye. Top hiking and climbing opportunities are right on your doorstep. The hosts are very welcoming and embody the desire to bring people together. That's exactly what makes this place so special.

I had the extraordinary pleasure of staying at Franz&Mathilde for just over ten weeks. It was my first remote working/co-living experience and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. The hosts (Philipp and Sarah) are wonderful people and they have created a comfortable, stylish, and relaxing space that immediately felt like home. There is a perfect balance of suggested activities and the opportunity to take things at your own pace, and my fellow guests were all very friendly like-minded individuals, all of which created a very harmonious and peaceful atmosphere. The en-suite room I stayed in was fantastic - I've never slept better - and the daily breakfast (included in the price) was healthy and hearty with a speciality coffee thrown in too (everything was either home-made or sourced locally and it was all delicious). The perfect start to the day. The working facilities were excellent, with a co-working space that included large monitors and comfy chairs, and the view over the valley was unmatched, for that extra little bit of inspiration. I have wonderful memories of my stay and I'll definitely be back - I can't wait to see everyone again!

This is truly a special place! Incredible setting, lovely hosts and beautiful rooms. The location is also great with a lovely village on the doorstep, hikes in the area and the Dolomites less than an hour away. The breakfast is also totally delicious!! Would absolutely recommend if you are looking for a base to explore the Dolomites region.

Warning: Once you stay at Franz&Mathilde you may experience extreme bouts of sadness and withdrawal symptoms upon leaving. Philipp and Sarah have created such a warm, welcome, and friendly atmosphere at (F&M) and the community spirit was just unbelievable. Between planned weekly events like volleyball Monday's and shared dinner Sunday's, and all the impromptu trips and events you'll inevitably make with the other guests, you'll never be bored. But we come here to work, right?... Well, good news there too - the wifi speeds are extremely fast and reliable. And the dedicated working area includes plenty of desks and external monitors available... Oh, and an unbeatable view and some specialty coffee thanks to the Coffee-Connoisseur Philipp! Each room also has a desk with a proper work chair if you need some solo-work time, and the wifi works wonderfully all the way to the upper reaches of the house. While it does take some patience with the public bus schedule to arrive if you don't have a car, once you arrive you almost immediately feel right at home. (And there most likely will be enough guests with cars that once you arrive, you won't even need one yourself.) For shopping, there's a grocery store in Tesimo that's just a short 8 minute walk away that has most essentials (including lots of fresh veggies). For more serious shopping, you'll likely need to go to Lana which has all the big supermarkets. To get there you can hitch a ride with a fellow guest or take one of the many local busses. The free breakfast with tons of vegan options is a wonderful way to bring everyone together for breakfast (not forced) before the work day begins, and from there, the day is yours to decide. Do you go hiking, organize a board game night, take a day trip to Lana/Merano/Bolzano, do some patio yoga, relax in the hammock, or work on your next season of "The Coliving" mockumentary? All in all, I can't recommend Franz&Mathilde more. Can't wait for my next visit!

Beautifully designed co-live with an amazing community. The hosts Phillip and Sofia are so friendly and helpful, you can tell the community here resonates with that. It truly felt like we were part of the family since day one, daily group activities and exploring the beautiful mountains that we can see from our work stations. My only regret is that I didnt stay longer!

Franz&Mathilde is an amazing coliving. The location is stunning (you can work in the sun on the terrace overlooking the mountains and apple orchards) and Philipp and Sarah are so welcoming. Having breakfast and coffee included every morning is an amazing perk and the house is beautifully decorated and cosy. I had a really lovely time!

I had the pleasure of staying the second time at Franz & Mathilde this June. It has been again a great experience. Starting with the heart-warming welcome and care by the hosts Sarah & Philipp The nature is great for outdoor lovers, especially for hikers and cyclists, if you like steep climbs. The international guests were interesting people and good fun.

We stayed here for just over a week and, despite work commitments, thoroughly enjoyed our time. The varied and outstanding breakfast buffet is the perfect way to start the day. There are opportunities to participate in group activities or to plan your own. Our room overlooked the apple orchards and was clean and quiet.

Cozy and very personal atmosphere, stylish interieur, great guests and the best hosts you could wish for. I can totally recommend this coliving space to anyone seeking for a place to feel home away from home. Can’t wait to come back one day, Sarah & Philipp!!

Superb location: Merano & Bolzano & epic hikes are very close. I'm familiar with coworking spaces, but this was my first coliving experience – I loved it, especially because Philipp & Sarah made it such a wonderful experience. What a wonderful co-living space with a warm sense of community. I spent about a month in this lovely retreat of a place. Philipp and Sarah run and own the establishment but feels far from it -- they are very self-aware, kind, and helpful individuals. As a solo traveler, I felt so at ease. They really create an ambiance that makes you feel like you're right at home -- from the delicious and homemade breakfast (with locally sourced fruit and fresh spreads), to the nightly gatherings with the other housemates. The views from the room are just breathtaking and was truly blessed to be living with other open-minded and like-minded people from all over the world. I couldn't have asked for a better experience to be close to so many hiking spots (that I often did with other housemates) and took a few days to explore the Dolomites just a few hours away. I look forward to coming back again soon when I need another retreat from urban life.

It was my first co-living place and I was blown away! The views are beautiful - I sat in the balcony having breakfast every day. This is one the very few co-living spaces that provides breakfast. And it sets you up for the day. It's one less thing to worry about. Phillip the co-owner sets up an amazing breakfast setup. It includes a lot of options that are great for vegetarians as well. You can feel the warmth in the home - every corner is mindfully thought out and decorated with love. My room smelled like the pine trees! PROS: - Very Friendly Hosts - A small cozy group of people - Beautiful View - Extensive Breakfast Included with amazing coffee - Separate Co-working space for focusing - Beautiful Rooms with bathrooms - Nearby Towns are accessible by public buses - Lots of nice Hikes nearby - Shared Kitchen with some basic groceries available for a very small cost - Everything was very organized CONS: - It may take a little long to get here by public transport I really felt as this was a Home away from Home and I will go back. Great, comfortable rooms, a fantastic breakfast every day with good coffee, and a stunning view – what more could you want? The workspaces are top-notch, the Wi-Fi always worked, and the exchange with other co-workers was incredibly interesting and valuable. The shared activities on weekends perfectly rounded off the coliving experience. All in all, a really cool experience and a beautiful location for a coliving space.

A place with a guaranteed feel-good factor! After four weeks in this beautiful, family-run, and warmly managed co-living space, saying goodbye today was really hard. Philipp and Sarah have created a truly special place where living, vacationing, and working combine so wonderfully and effortlessly that you feel right at home from day one – without missing out on that sense of adventure :) The house is decorated in a cozy boho style, and you can either stay in one of the lovely rooms or sleep in your own van (a huge plus!). No matter where you sleep, the fabulous vegetarian breakfast with barista coffee and vegan options (homemade spreads 😍) was the daily highlight of the morning. The work atmosphere was also fantastic! Stable, fast Wi-Fi, computer workstations, and quiet spaces for phone calls and meetings. Besides work, leisure time is by no means neglected: several times a week, Philipp enthusiastically organizes smaller and larger excursions and activities, such as aperitivos, film nights, trips to special culinary and scenic highlights, and more :) The many wonderful, interesting, and inspiring acquaintances with the other Colivers from all over the world definitely made my stay wonderfully complete – and plans are already being made to meet up again :) ❤️ Thanks & see you very soon!

Franz+Mathila is a wonderful coliving. As a full time nomad I’ve stayed at many colivings and this is one of my favorites. Here are some of the factors that make it great: beautiful space renovated with design and aesthetic in mind, free breakfast and lovely coffee bar great for connecting with others in the house in the morning, dedicated quiet workspace with screens and good chairs (enclosed so it’s separate from socializing), small size house/group which is better for connecting, a few organized events per week in the local area organized by the owner so you get to live like a local, there are walks in nature directly from the house if you don’t have a car, there is a tiny village with supermarket walkable, and a bigger village by bus, there are beautiful views from the garden and veranda of the house so it feels like being in nature, the owner Phillipe is always available and engaged with organizing which helps facilitate the house, the wider area around the house has endless hikes, villages, events etc. There are really nice Huts around the area for walking + good food. And most important, there is a very cute baby who attends most breakfasts and provides endless entertainment :) I had a car which was necessary for bigger hikes and exploring the region but many people in the house did not and got along fine. Finally, if you do nothing else while at the house please try Philippe’s coffee innovation: the Oleato. (You’re welcome in advance for that tip!) Thank you Sarah and Phillipe for a great time! Staying at this coliving was my first experience, and it was the best choice! It was in the perfect location—close to the mountains and a cute village. I felt like at home with the best upgrade - perect cafe, yummy breakfast and those views! Philip with Sarah are amazing—so kind and helpful, they even took me to the bus station because I couldn’t find it haha. Defo will be coming back.

We spent four fantastic weeks working and living at franz&mathilde. The combination of interesting people, diverse hiking options in the area, and the excellent work environment and atmosphere is perfect! Philipp and Sarah have truly created a special place and take great care of their guests. We will also miss Philipp's barista skills! The time passed far too quickly, unfortunately, but we will be back!

During my cycling tour across the Alps, I happened upon Tisens, a beautiful little village. Unfortunately, all the accommodations were fully booked, and I was about to give up when I came across Philipp and Sarah's place. On a whim, I knocked on their door and asked if I could stay the night. Although they were also fully booked, Philipp generously offered me the use of their garden for my tent. What followed was an unforgettable evening with some very interesting new people. I was warmly welcomed into their group, and we enjoyed a delicious barbecue together on the terrace with a breathtaking sunset. The next morning started perfectly with the best espresso in South Tyrol, prepared by Philipp, a passionate amateur barista. Many thanks to Philipp and Sarah for their incredible hospitality! I'm already looking forward to the next time – hopefully not just as a surprise guest.

It's almost difficult to describe this perfect place because it's more of a feeling. Philipp and Sarah have created a dreamlike space here for relaxing, working, letting your thoughts wander, and connecting with wonderful people. Besides a house with meticulous attention to detail, they offer so many ways to enjoy life here, from a shared vineyard and beer tastings to dinners at the Laugenalm mountain hut, yoga, and much more. Anyone looking for a co-living space will not only be well served here but should also realize that no other co-living space will easily reach this standard. Thank you for the time I spent with you!

Perfect workation place! It's spectacularly located with a fantastic view on the mountains. The terrace!! The rooms and common areas are very welcoming and cozy - it's apparent the owners are interior designers ;-) Philipp, the owner, puts a lot of effort into making everyone feel at home and to create a sense of community among the guests. The whole thing has a very personal touch. Due to health issues, I couldn't do big tours during my stay, so I greatly enjoyed the possibilities of smaller excursions you can do in the vicinity. I'd definitely recommend Franz&Mathilde for a workation retreat or just plain holidays with a sense of community!

Philipp is an amazing host that puts in the effort to organize friendly social activities with his guests. I was fortnuate enough to meet other people to go on hikes and share the experience with. The place is also not so crowded so it's easy to concentrate during work hours. The location is surprisingly rich in activites to do. There are multiple bus also if you wish to get out of the village. The included breakfast is very generous with lots of healthy options. Definitely worth the price.

I stayed at Franz&Mathilde for two months this summer and it was INCREDIBLE! As a digital nomad, it provides the best place to work for awhile. There’s a dedicated coworking room with big monitors (where I worked 95% of the time), but you could also work in the cafe area, on the balcony, in the garden, or in your room. There are also two private offices for when you need to take calls or meetings. It’s located in a tiny village in a gorgeous area, surrounded by mountains, apple orchards, and vineyards. There are short hikes you can do from the coliving and some longer ones you can access by bus. To access all the hikes, especially in the Dolomites, you’d need a car, or go with someone who has a car (which almost always works out). The hosts, Sarah and Philipp, are so incredibly sweet. Philipp makes a delicious breakfast every morning which is included in the price (fresh bread and croissants, homemade spreads, cheeses, yogurt, and DELICIOUS espresso based drinks). When you’re lucky, Bobby the cat will come around and grace you with her presence. Throughout the week, there are things going on, from barbecues to pizza nights to organized hikes. It’s so easy to get to know everyone and make friends fast. Everyone who comes here always leaves saying they can’t wait to come back. In the two months I was there, I met many people who were return guests. If you get a chance to come here, don’t think twice, just do it (and book for longer than you think!)

Sarah and Philipp have created an incredible place full of positivity, laughter, joy and great people up in the mountains. It’s been a pleasure working and living there. Great hosts, great people, great place to stay. Also great starting point for heaps of hikes. Rock solid 15/10 ☺️

At first, I wondered what it would be like to live with people I didn't even know. After two stays at franz&mathilde, I can say that it could be wonderful! I felt very comfortable; the international group was welcoming, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The beautiful decor of the house, Philipp's fantastic coffee, and the view (!!) all contribute to the feeling of well-being. Despite the work, it feels like a vacation, and you can choose new experiences in the region every day. The thermal baths in Merano, the Adige cycle path, or exciting hikes—there's so much to discover. If you need a break from all the adventures, there are wonderful day spas nearby, or you can simply relax in a hammock with a book. I highly recommend embracing the benefits of more remote work and making the most of this great opportunity in Tisens!

I had an amazing time in October 2022 at Franz & Mathilde. Philipp & Sara are great hosts. Mainly Philipp is around. He is very sympathetic and creates the space (and spontaneous events) with a very nice, open, honest and relaxed energy. Not even talking about the energy he creates with his amazing coffee and breakfast. The rooms are very cozy and there is plenty of work space in different areas, including good internet and work facilities all around. This place also attracts very nice diverse people that are easy to connect with. Both for working and for outside activities, there's always plenty of inspiration in this place. I already recommend this place to all of my friends and family and can only underline that you would have an amazing time here.

Arriving at Franz and Mathilde feels like coming home to a place where your peers have been awaiting you. It sounds cliché, but this is what I truly believe: You will get to meet the kindest and most engaging hosts that will always help you out and make sure to encourage evening gatherings around the bonfire. Furthermore, we've built wonderful connections to people that have an interesting take on life. We had the opportunity to go on midday hikes (thanks for the recommendations!), went for Via Ferratas for the first time, jumped into a beautiful lake and had a great time hanging out, eating tons of delicious pizza from Tisens. Hard facts: - good place to work, even with desks with adjustable height - ultra comfy beds with a flabbergasting view from the balcony - yummy breakfast with great coffee variations (Philipp knows his stuff!) - a little supermarket is not too far to walk to - you're definitely able to get here with public transport and get around by bus to your hikes. Just ask Sarah and Philipp about their recommendations :-) If I had to subsumize my experience here, I'd say it was an astonishing place that I'm happy to return to as soon as possible.

Simply indescribably beautiful here - again and again. I've spent three stays at franz&mathilde now and felt at home from the very first moment. Sarah and Philipp have created a place where you can not only concentrate on your work, but also experience wonderful moments. From hiking to swimming, evenings together, or reading in the beautiful garden with a view! Thank you so much for everything!!!

I stayed at Franz&Mathilde for a week in August and had the loveliest time. Even so that I already booked my second stay while I was there. Philipp and Sarah put a lot of their energy into making us feel at home. From the delicious daily breakfast (what a luxury :)) to the pizza feasts and hiking trips we share together, building the community is at the core of everything Philipp and Sarah do. Plus, no community managers involved: Philipp and Sarah do everything by themselves and join the group often, for morning chats, nature trips or just hanging out and chatting. Makes it feel relaxed and personal. The décor of the coliving is absolutely gorgeous: minimalism meets jungle vibes meets hygge. From how the place is furnished and decorated, you can tell that Philipp and Sarah have a background in (and eye for) creativity. The people staying at Franz&Mathilde are open-minded, very kind, and super fun to be around. With nature so closeby (that backdrop!) and close to the hearts of everyone at the coliving, it’s not hard to find a connection. If coliving in nature with fun and active people speaks to you, I would recommend to book a stay and find out for yourself :)

Hard to describe the amazing month that I just spend here, Sarah (with an H) & Philipp really make you feel home on day 1. The place is so nicely decorated, the view is incredible, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. There is only 6 rooms so you get to know each people who lives with you and share some nice moment. They are also organizing some activities, like BBQ, night out, swim at the lake, pizza party, etc...so you don't get bored at any time. All the guests who booked 1 week after 2 days already regrets to have not booked longer, don't make that mistake !

Beautiful and cozy coliving retreat - a home away from home with stunning views. The owners Sarah and Philipp are amazing hosts and have created a great space to work, live and connect for digital nomads and people who want a change of scenery. Recommend 100% Edit: I have now been back for the third time and love how each season offers so many different activities - skiing resorts are close by as well as very refreshing mountain lakes for those hot summer months. Autumn might still be my favourite time to visit with changing colours and crisp mountain air for great panoramic hikes.

An unparalleled experience. The atmosphere is truly fantastic and perfect for anyone seeking a productive yet inspiring environment. Whether you just want to cowork for a day or enjoy coliving for an extended period, both are excellent. franz&mathilde is one of my favorite places. Apart from being exactly what I needed with the insanely beautiful views, being far from the noise, singing birds calmly waking me up in the morning, and really nice walks around, it added on top some pretty spectacular attractions that I did not expect. There are beautiful waterfalls a couple minutes by car away. There are terms with sauna (check out a hey sauna) in Meran close by. There are small lakes around just right for a weekend trip (a walk around Kalterer See is just fantastic). There is a hill just next to the house that is steep enough that you can go up, see the sunrise, then come back and see the second sunrise from your room's window. There is even a small lake with floating island (it actually moves from one side of the lake to another from one day to another even as it's big enough to have a couple of trees). The place itself is beautifully designed (both hosts Philipp and Sara are interior designers), has a co-working space, a nice living room and the hosts serve so good and diverse breakfast (vegan/vegetarian and other options) with many home made ingredients (like baba ganush, vegan egg spread, or gluten free pankakes) that I had a momentary decision paralysis every morning. Sara and Philip are awesome hosts. I totally felt like home. We did a couple hikes together, a road trip, they invited me for lunch a bunch of times, and we plaid board/card games. On top of that there's Bobby Mitz. Bobby is the owner of the house (or she thinks so). She's fluffy, has beautiful eyes, and is very playful. She's also a cat and she loves lizards.
