Cobana opens its doors again this summer. 🌿 For founders, changemakers, and visionaries ready to move; even without a fully drawn map. Sometimes clarity comes not from a plan, but from a walk in the wilderness, a shared meal, or a quiet morning of deep work with mountain air and strong coffee. If you’re at a crossroads - a transition, a new project, an unanswered question - this might be your season. 👉 What are you working on that could use a change of scene? What a weekend! Despite the snow and rain, our amazing volunteers divided into teams and embraced the challenge of becoming masters of destruction OR construction 🤣 No surprise so many signed up for the chance to peacefully demolish a few things! From tackling the mattress recycling challenge to crafting beautiful exposition numbers for our future ecomuseum categories, we made massive progress this weekend too - and we’re immensely grateful for your contribution! A warm thank you to our friends at @amiciisalvamontbrasov and @cobanacoliving for their ongoing support 🙏❤️ Thank you, everyone! We’ll soon announce the schedule for April and May. Stay tuned and enjoy the Easter break with your dearest ones in the meantime 🤗

Not a Workation: Co-Create a Residency in Wild Transylvania Deep in the Romanian Carpathians, something different is happening. At Cobana, a coliving space on the edge of ancient forests and mountains, the idea isn’t just to host remote workers. It’s to bring people together to co-create something meaningful. They’re inviting teams, collectives, and individuals to design their own residency, from one week to three months, fully immersed in nature and connected to a local ecosystem of farmers, creatives, and regenerative projects. This is less about escaping somewhere beautiful, and more about plugging into a place that’s already alive. Days might include working on your own project, but also connecting with local initiatives, exploring the mountains, or collaborating with others who care about building something with impact. Cobana is positioning itself clearly: this isn’t for people just passing through, but for those who want their time somewhere to actually mean something. 👉 Read more here: https://www.mapmelon.com/posts/co-create-a-regenerative-residency-in-wild-transylvania #coliving #remotework #slowtravel #communityliving #romania digitalnomads

The weaving was always happening here. Global and local voices finding each other. Different worlds, disciplines, and perspectives meeting in the wild heart of Transylvania — and something emerging that none of us could have built alone. Now it is time to name it. And make it the intention. Cobana is a physical home of Regenerative Futures Transylvania. A place where residencies, workshops, and gatherings are co-curated to blend global and local voices towards a regenerative future — rooted in this bioregion, its landscapes, communities, and living practices. The weaving was always the work. Now it is the invitation. Are you building something regenerative? Reach out — let’s co-create a residency together. 🌿 Link in bio → www.co-bana.co #Cobana #Transylvania #RegenerativeFutures #Bioregional #Coliving Residency RFT Carpathians Regenerative CoCreate

❓You know what's better than Hike 4 Expats? ❕To stop for lunch at Mama Țica during the hike and enjoy a warm meal with a splendid view 😋 Last Sunday we organised the latest edition #hike4expats which was number #17 since we started years ago. 🌟 The area of Moieciu has so many trails and a stunning landscape to offer! And because our events are not just about mountain activities, we stopped for a delicious lunch at @casa_pelinica . Slow tourism is about people too; getting to know the locals, understanding how they live, contributing to their efforts. Our host has a couple of sheep, one pig and a dozen happy chickens (you should see Mr. Rooster🐓). If you're in the area, take a break at their beautiful and traditional cottage. They can host people overnight ☺️. 🌟 Follow us for more remote destinations in Romania. And join us for the next outdoor and cultural events.

At the start of our journey in building Regenerative Futures Transylvania, with this workshop we ask: what role does remembrance play in building a peaceful and thriving future? Which stories, characters, and wisdoms can guide us through this time of upheaval and transformation? What can we learn about being connected to nature and community from the memory of our ancestors? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 Nestled in the Carpathian basin, Transylvania (Latin: “across the forests”) has a rich history, often at the crossroads of empires and cultures. Romanian, Hungarian, Roma, German, and pagan influences have created a rich cultural repertoire closely connected to stunning natural heritage - primal forests and majestic mountain chains. Like a journey back to when time was cyclical, the mythological world we explore in this workshop invites reflection on our relationship with Transylvania and its inhabitants through stories and the archetypal characters living in them. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗚𝗲𝘁: · Understanding of how Transylvanian myths encode ecological and community wisdom Tools for using mythological thinking in your work · Connection with others exploring ancestral memory’s role in building futures · Personal mythological story-framework for your work in/with Transylvania · The opportunity to join at the start of Regenerative Futures Transylvania 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝟮𝟬 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟲𝗵 (𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘆𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗚𝗠𝗧+𝟮) / 𝟭𝟰𝗵 (𝗚𝗠𝗧) 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮.𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝗭𝗮̆𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀̦𝘁𝗶, 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘀̦𝗼𝘃 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆, 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮) 𝗢𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗯𝘆 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 (𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱) - 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆@𝗰𝗼-𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮.𝗰𝗼 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 https://luma.com/kgo5teoq 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬: 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 (𝐭̦𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐚̆, 𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐚̆). - free attendance - held in English -

Really enjoyed my time at Cobana Coliving! The working area is great, with a reliable internet connection, perfect for remote work. The rooms are cosy, and the toilets are clean and quite modern. David, the host, is super hospitable and an awesome guy. There’s also plenty to do in the area, from hiking to mountain biking, making it an ideal spot for both work and adventure. Highly recommend!

I loved my state at Cobana so much I booked two months for this summer before I even left. It was the perfect place to settle in and get some serious work done. Because of my stay, I'm launching a second penname with a novella I hadn't planned to write but found inspiration while at Cobana. There's a Lidl really close by and easy to walk to. A train station that'll take you into Brasov. Neither Bolt or Grab reach to Zarnesti but David has a phone with a local taxi company app loaded and I would just use that to leave the house and then find a taxi or Bolt wherever I went. When I return, I will be hiring a car for a period of time to see more further afield.

Cobana Coliving is a perfect place to stay for remote workers, entrepreneurs and digital nomads who are looking for a place to focus on work and relax in nature. There is a very relaxed vibe, no social obligations and everything is very chill. Although there are a bunch of things that people do together: go to the gym, hiking, bouldering, visiting castles, checking out Brasov, cooking together, brainstorm sessions etc. Because of the chill atmosphere I could easily focus a lot on projects/books/courses I wanted to finish for months already. It's a great place for personal development and hyper focus on your work. The facilities are amazing. WiFi has amazing speed, there are coworking-areas, but all rooms have a desk as well for private calls/meetings. The kitchen is well equiped and the owner takes suggestions of what's missing always into consideration. If something is missing he makes sure it will be there if people need it. :-) The place is a bit remote, so it can be hard to move around and explore. I came by car, so for me this was not a problem but I can imagine for some digital nomads it's too far away from the buzz of a city like Brasov or Bucharest. But it's an amazing base to explore the mountaineous surroundings. I really enjoyed hiking in places like Piatra Craiului, Bucegi, Ciucas and Fagaras. Also castles like Bran and the fortress of Rasno are easy to visit (you can even bike there!).

I enjoy a lot my time in Cobana. It is a beautiful house with all a digital nomad could need to work and have fun, make new connections and be productive. I would love to come back for longer time.

High quality, new digital nomad sanctionary. Cobana is nestled in the mountains, and feels like a retreat. A 15-minute walk to a large Lidl grocery store and a 10 drive to the center of town, Zărnești. Also only a 15 taxi or Uber to Bran's Castle, the most famous castle in Romania. The area boasts breathtaking views, hiking trails, and a national park. The 4-story colive has a modern minimalist clean design with high-quality finishes such as muti-pivot-hinge doors and windows letting in the right amount of nature in, an induction stove, washer& dryer, super fast internet and a cowork. The well-organized kitchen with everything a chef could want, ensures that colivers will want to cook and keep the kitchen clean and organized. There is also a detached covered BBQ pit. By far the best cooking step-up of any community kitchen I have experienced. And I have experienced a lot of them. This is a comfortable colive that is really tailored for focused work. I recommend this escape from the hustle and bustle of cities and airports for 1-3 months for Nomads. Months not weeks, are necessary to really enjoy and to fully recharge the those batteries.
