The apartment is conveniently located and the overall decor is fantastic. The only minor drawback is that some amenities broke down during my stay, but it basically has everything you need. Most of the neighbors stay for extended periods, and the apartment complex has regular weekly activities and occasional gatherings (coffee shop, beach trips), which are very fun! I highly recommend this place if you're someone who works remotely and isn't shy.

We made reservations via AirBnb and weren’t disappointed. Our host was very kind and jovial and made it a point to check in. The property itself was very spacious. Like most places, the tiny elevator made checking in/out challenging but that’s expected. Locations couldn’t be better - this is walking distance from convenience store, Tram 28 starting point near Martim Moniz, lots of restaurants and dangerous for your wallet hotspot - Zara! Try the restaurant serving hot and freshly made Bifana sandwiches next door. Servers and owner are very kind.

Samesame has a great community that is well-managed. Though priced above average, the excellent common areas and social events make it worth it. The rooms are decent for a shared house type of living environment, making it a top choice. I'll definitely be visiting again.

UPDATE Spring 2026 - Publicly posting about everything here now that the dust has settled. They never took ownership or accountability of the issues I experienced, and remained very unprofessional & unwilling to resolve matters directly w/ me, which led to a longer drawn out dispute. What they do spend time on though is building a narrative internally within the community, which really doesn’t help their case. Here were the key outcomes of all this , and these will tell you all you need to know: 1. The poco room has been renovated. They may claim it was always something they were going to do, but everyone should know it’s been that way for years till the situation came up. 2. The website has been fully updated since I’ve caught them on their past “guarantee” and how they marketed the Poco room. 3. Instead of ownership, they've taken this approach of “we’re not a hotel”, as if that discounts the fact they try to charge $2k/mo for a single bedroom while having a room thats got an ancient shower well "concept", or that you can get locked out of your room (their fault) and no one should help you if its past 10pm, or that they can treat you like you're out of luck and should go kick rocks. 4. After lots of back & forth, I’ve won the large dispute & can prove it. “Greedy little bee” (their actual business name) wasn’t too happy about it of course. I’m glad to see many have a great experience here , but I wouldn’t discount my experience which I’m happy to discuss publicly. Love everyone I've met there and the colivers, as I always said, but their team is honestly awful and unprofessional. ORIGINAL: Overall, I’d avoid Samesame. It’s gross & moldy and has its fair share of issues. The location and community are great—the colivers really make the experience—but the property condition and management fall far below expectations, especially for the price. Overpriced: paid ~€1.8k/month (Oct ’25) for a private bd/bth in a 5bd apartment. At the same time, well-reviewed 1bd or studio Airbnbs in Lisbon were around €2k/month, making this hard to justify besides wanting the community aspect. Poco Room: Marketed as a unique “concept” room, but the reality didn’t match the photos or expectations. It’s essentially an old stone well used as a shower in the middle of the room, which left the floor constantly wet, the air humid, and there was a persistent moldy smell that made the space uncomfortable to stay in. Other Issues: There were recurring problems—someone else’s unit flooded, there was frequent repair work with minimal cleanup, and the washing machine had been out of service for an extended period. It didn’t feel like there was any consistent upkeep. WiFi: Unreliable wifi. It went down frequently enough that it became a regular complaint among residents. Poor Management: Sometimes no one shows up to open the cowork on time, impacting busy digital nomads. Other times, there’s nobody available to check-in new-comers even when their arrival time was communicated ahead. Their latest IG post even says they “aren’t a hotel,” implying not to expect certain basics. One night I was locked out of my room due to some door code# issues they messed up,, and I couldn’t get a response from management. Luckily, somehow a flat-mates key worked which is kinda sketch. When issues were raised, responses were often defensive rather than solution-oriented. After staying at other colivings, I can say this is far behind what it should be. GREEDY LITTLE BEE: They own the whole building and rent units on Airbnb for high prices. That’s fine, but the condition of the coliving didn’t match what you’d expect when they make so much from those BNBs + the coliving. What you get is a spot that has less cleaning, constant issues, and poor management. Their legal name is “Abelhinha Gulosa LDA” which translates to “Greedy Little Bee Ltd" lol. To me the place didn't live up to how it’s marketed. Until they overhaul everything and acknowledge what isn’t working, I’d skip it. Shame because the people staying there are genuinely great.

The SameSame team makes you feel like you're part of their family from the moment you check-in. The colivers are a friendly and interesting. The rooms are comfortable and I love the eclectic vintage decor. Thee location is very convenient; there's plenty of public transportation nearby.

100% recommended! I was here for almost a month and had an amazing stay. The community vibe is the highlight, from Sunday brunches to Tuesday dinners and movie nights with wine. The coworking space is spacious and super comfortable. I stayed in both a studio and a room —everything was clean, quiet, and cozy. I loved the balance of staying in the quieter Madalena building and heading over to Beco every night to socialize. Best of all, they were incredibly welcoming to my dog, Pulga! The staff is wonderful and helps you with everything. A true home away from home in Lisbon! 🇵🇹✨

I stayed at this coliving for more than 5 weeks and I had a truly wonderful time! The location is very central, so all the sights in Lisbon are within easy walking distance. I had a private double room with a bathroom in the Madalena building, which was quite quiet. I also had access to the community room in the Beco building. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. Once a week, the room was cleaned after a quick check-in with me. A special highlight was the community – I met so many great people and really felt at home! They organize regular activities, and you can also suggest your own ideas. It was lovely that you could always reach out to the management or the volunteers with any questions, and they regularly checked in to see if everything was going well. Additionally, there is a coworking space that you can use, including a meeting room for appointments and a phone booth for calls. One small downside is that there’s no washing machine, but that was mentioned on the website before. There’s a laundry shop just a few minutes' walk away. All in all, it was a fantastic stay and I’d love to come back!

When I first moved to Lisbon, I needed a place to stay while I was apartment hunting with my dog. I was so lucky that I found SameSame! They welcomed me and my dog Roo with open arms. The accommodations are beautiful (Stayed in the single apartment and the studio), the staff is fantastic and the location was right in the heart of the city. Beyond that, the community they have built is more like a family. I live here in Lisbon full time now and still try to join the community dinners whenever I can. SameSame is more than a co-living, it is a place to make long lasting friendships and build a home here in Lisbon. Highly recommend!

Absolutely LOVE Same same it is my go to accomodation when I am in Lisbon. You have everything you could need as a digital nomad - community, workspace, lovely home, reliable wifi. I stayed in the 3 bedrooms each time and they’re surprisingly amazing for a dorm style room. Feels really fun like you’re having a sleepover with friends every night (and I don’t say that lightly). I requested they change their non stick pans to metal ones because of all the chemicals and they actually listened!! Samesame really cares about their guests I’ve always felt welcomed and made great long term friends. Location is a 4 out of 5 simply because I personally like the other side of Lisbon near the bridge. It is in the heart of the city which is tourist central so just make sure you wander over to the nice suburbs like principe reale etc. to explore the most of Lisbon. Everything is in walking distance so you have access to everything you could possibly want. So grateful for same same!

I’ve stayed at SameSame twice now and will continue to come back. I had an amazing time there and have made incredible memories! It really feels like a second home. The coliving experience here is the best I’ve experienced, with weekly community dinners and breakfasts and so many activities to enjoy together so you’re always busy. It really feels like you’re part of a family staying here, and I’ve made many genuine friends from my visits. The team are all such lovely people, and the rooms are beautiful. You can tell so much thought has been put into the design to make it homely! Plus, the coworking is a great space to work from so it’s ideal for digital nomads. I really recommend SameSame for anyone wanting to experience Lisbon and make new connections with awesome people! ✨

Same Same is an incredible place to stay in Lisbon. The property is spacious, with the option to stay in a house or an apartment, and the common areas are amazing. There are plenty of group activities, which makes it really easy to make friends with people from all over the world. For work, it’s perfect. The coworking space is comfortable, with meeting room and a private phone booth for calls. I stayed there for over a month and absolutely loved it. It was an amazing experience, I made great friends, met so many people, and I would definitely come back. I truly recommend it to any digital nomad. And the location couldn’t be better.

I just spent a month at the co-living so here’s my experience: This is my 2nd co-living, and my stay was overall positive. I liked the people I met, and we did fun things together. However: The management seemed a little disorganized, eg, many people had check-in issues, and I also had to wait a while before I was given the check-in code which I had to self check-in with. The cleaners would randomly clean your room without any notice or schedule, and only every 2 weeks. I let them know that I would appreciate a heads up, but they entered and cleaned my room the next day without notice. I wish they organized more community activities. They do organize a morning surf, brunch (bring your own ingredients), community dinner, but wish they planned more things in the city/evenings. We had to self organize a lot. There wasn't laundry in the building, they said they will get a machine in a few months, but I've heard it's been an issue for over a year. There is a laundromat nearby which works but is a bit annoying to use. There are 2 buildings, one is a lot nicer/social, but you can go to it if you are staying in the other one. The one I was in (madelena) was much more basic. The walls are thin in both building so you can’t really hang out and talk after 11pm. The coworking space was generally ok, but it got pretty stuffy/hot. There was no AC in it. I think overall the image of the co-living looks different online from what it is. I think it's expensive for what you get, but I met some nice people and had an overall good time.

Samesame truly felt like home from the very first day. The community vibe is incredible – warm, open, fun and super supportive. You meet people from all over the world, but it never feels overwhelming; it feels like a small family. The house itself is cozy, clean and beautifully curated, with lots of little details that make it comfortable to live and work. Perfect for remote workers, digital nomads or anyone who wants to feel connected while staying in Lisbon. What really makes this place special are the hosts. They create such a welcoming, inspiring environment and put so much heart into the community. I felt safe, seen and included every single day. I left with amazing memories, deep conversations, laughter and friendships I’ll keep for a long time. If you’re thinking about staying here: do it. I spent a month at same same and a a great experience! The hosts were super responsive and the the community manager done a great job organising events and trips!

SameSame was such a special place for me. I was going through a loss and the community at the house brought me so much joy. The space was perfect for ensuring we could focus and work while also being a part of something special. We shared meals, laughs and tears together. The team was always there to help and plan for the week together. A huge shout out to one of the kindest humans I’ve ever met who made my stay special from the moment he welcomed me with the biggest smile and warm energy. Jota!! I miss you dearly and will work on my Portuguese for our reunion. I highly recommend staying with SameSame. It’s so much more than a place to stay and work, it’s a culture of care, openness and so much joy. I definitely left a big piece of my heart in this house and hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I think Same Same has a lot of potential, but my experience was mixed. For me, the prices felt far too high for the way the place is currently managed (€1700 for a couple without a private bathroom). The rooms were often dirty, damp, and had leakages. There is no laundry service, and rooms are only cleaned every 15 days, sometimes even longer, and even then the cleaning was not done properly, so dirt buildup was common. The volunteers barely interacted and mostly seemed there for the free accommodation. Several guests were not received for hours upon arrival, and there were frequent tensions between guests and management. Some rooms were completely forgotten during cleaning rounds, going more than 15 days, sometimes up to a month, without being cleaned. Plus the turnover rate of volunteers and guests is high (minimum of one week only for guests). All of this weakened any sense of community, to a point where people didn’t show up to group activities anymore. The WiFi also dropped frequently. Same Same could be great with better management, but right now it needs significant improvements to justify the price.

Great location if you want to be in the heart of Lisbon. Staff is generally responsive and people are welcoming. I stayed for more than a month and had a positive experience overall (with some caveats). Caveats: It could be improved with better kitchen equipment/supplies and required/enforced quiet hours. The vibe leaned heavily towards drinking to socialise most evenings, which was somewhat disappointing. Note that social events take place in Beco house and echo in all the rooms (this disrupted my sleep multiple times/week). Cleaning only takes place on weekdays and co-livers left shared spaces a mess on weekends.

I had such a good time at this coliving. It's a great place to stay, work and meet like minded people. Everyone was super friendly and I made really good meaningful connections. The place is clean, modern and well organized. If you're considering to stay, rather book a longer stay than a short one!

I think Same same is one of the best if not the best community based co-living I have been to. It's not even about the location or the rooms (which are great btw) but it's about the people they attract and the feeling of actually being embedded in a community. That is to me one of the best gifts you can give to yourself and same same provides that.

An excellent co-living place at a great location. They offer a variety of rooms to choose from according to your needs, and access to their co-working space is included with your stay. The staff is friendly and hospitable and they organize multiple events for the co-livers during the week. Highly recommended!

Samesame was a great experience for me. I wouldn’t imagine a better way to stay in Lisbon. The location was great. The space is very beautiful. The most important is the community. It’s rare to have such an open and diverse community in any city. I feel that I could just talk to anyone about anything. That makes Lisbon even more charming to me, not to mention the sea and the city itself. The professional networking was also great. Samesame stuffs also offers a lot to make this experience unique. - The stuffs are very welcoming and easy going. - There are nice lunch options from Monday to Friday. Family dinner on Tuesday - Some events such as surfing, dancing classes, cooking classes would be organised. - random drinks and late night talks just happen. - There’s a coworking space.

Worst coworking/coliving space I've been to (and I've been to many around the world - most in 3rd world countries but they have the basics in place unlike SameSame). Totally disorganised, dark & dingey apartment. Took them 1 week to fix the broken front door. Couldn't even work from the coworking space as they only have one private room to do calls. Left 2 weeks early. Took the community manager 24hrs to reply to my whatsapp to say I'm leaving. Still waiting for someone to answer my email and refund me €600 for the time I didn't stay. Avoid!

I've never experienced anything like this dynamic before... it's my first time outside of Brazil, and I felt so welcomed at Samesame. It's an incredible exchange. And right in the historic center of Lisbon, next to Rua Augusta. Amazing!

I stayed 2 months from March to May 2022 in this wonderful coliving / coworking space in the heart of Lisbon. I rented a private room that was clean and tastefully decorated. Sheets and towels were changed weekly. There is a good amount of room for storage. The cleaning team also vacuumed my room weekly. Note that the locks on the doors do not work. The whole accommodation has high quality features (beautiful stone sinks, room balconies, a patio) and you have access to the coworking space and the socials at Insitu. I met very cool people who were open and adventurous. I especially enjoyed weekly coliver dinners where one person cooks for everyone. The hosting team were friendly and relaxed. The coworking space has comfortable chairs, good wifi. The room to take conference calls is not so well insulated for noise and make sure to book it well in advance. In general, a fabulous place that set the bar very high for coliving experiences.

I was honestly feeling at home during my whole stay! Samesame has a nice coworking where you can work well and a bar which is the perfect place to meet people, enjoy music and delicious food. But the thing which makes SameSame very special is the wonderful people you meet there, both the colivers and the team who runs the place. You will always find good vibes! :) If you want to share a local experience, keep working on your projects and be a Lisbon's resident for some time, this is the right place to go!

A wonderful coliving in Lisbon. Everything is perfect : the place, the people, the way of life of this coliving where you will find a real family. The team who is taking care of us is amazing and always make you feel confortable and good.
