It's just a very, very good place to be and has an incredible team. This isn't just a place to stay that also offers surf lessons, staying at Gota Dagua is a unique experience. Surf coach Romi was great, after just 3 lessons I was already able to stand on the board and surf a wave on my own. After surfing you often have some free time to visit the beach/promenade of caparica (or the town itself). Expect lots of nice places to have lunch or a quick snack and lots of (often advanced) surfers in the water. If you want, you can also get a board and wetsuit to try surfing on your own. Dinner is at 19:00 and expect to get a different, very tasty dish and dessert. Just let them know if you're vegan/vegetarian or have any allergies so they can serve you something different. After dinner is when things get interesting. Some days you'll visit a local bar (like the warm-up bar, which is very chill and has some darts-boards hanging in the back), other days you might go to Lisbon to go to different clubs until the early hours. They really know where to be to get the best cocktails or live music or the best atmosphere. I was here during low-season, meaning the group was smaller and the weather not always perfect. But, the people that I met were very nice and I had a really good time here with them and the Gota Dagua team. Already planning to go back next year. Thanks for the wonderful week. Really friendly staff! You can get lots of information from them about surfing, Lisbon, and more. They have a great schedule and a system that works well. What I didn’t like: For surfing: Sometimes we were way too close to each other, which can be dangerous. I often had to dodge other people’s surfboards or skip waves because there were too many people in front of me. I always tried to keep my distance, but it wasn’t always possible. Because of that, I saw (and experienced) a few near misses. Either the surfing area should be extended, or the number of groups per session reduced. For accommodation: The breakfast is always the same, so after a few days it gets a bit boring. And don’t expect too much from dinner - it’s okay, but the portions might not be enough. You can ask for seconds, but that’s not always guaranteed. Overall: If you want to try surfing or improve your skills, I’d definitely recommend this camp. You’ll meet some really great people there! 🌊

mein Fazit nach einer Woche: Pros: -etwa 75 Gäste, jeder findet jemanden mit dem er sich versteht -viele verschiedene Social Events für die die es interessiert -alle sind sehr nett -Surfunterricht war sehr professionell -jeder bekommt ein Fahrrad mit dem er zum Surfen oder in die Stadt kommt -Free Surf immer zu Surfkurszeiten möglich Cons: -der Intensivkurs lohnt sich nicht da es nicht anders als Free Surf war, es waren mehr Schüler je Surflehrer und nicht mit dem Surflehrer den man sonst hatte, somit kannte er das Level und häufige Fehler überhaupt nicht -vegetarische/ veganes Abendessen bestand überwiegend aus Tofu, ich mag Tofu zwar aber ich will es nicht jeden Tag essen -Surfkurszeiten sind nicht an Wellen angepasst, wenn man schlechte Wellen hat, hat man eben Pech gehabt -Fahrräder dürfen nur bis 19 Uhr genutzt werden, man kann nicht abends noch essen gehen oder zum Strand fahren

I went in unsure what to expect in Portugal, but by the end of the trip turned out to be an unforgettable trip and memory! I went to Gota Dagua Surf Week 23, 2025! Surf Lessons - To begin, I am an intermediate surfer from the USA and know how to catch waves, and just wanted to get premium waves to learn and improve turns and carving. There are 4 time slots per day and your lesson time rotates. The class size is 5 people to an instructor, and the lineup is big enough to share. I was very happy to see that the surf instructors were able to adapt and provide feedback and teach appropriately for everyones level, from complete beginners around me first time on a board to my own case!! This really sold me on the quality of this surf camp. Beach Break - Came into a perfect week, waves Monday/Tues 4-5ft, Wed/Thur 2-3ft, and got smaller everyday down to 1ft on our last day of surfing. So got to practice in all conditions. Water was clean and recommend a 3/2 wetsuit. The camp provides good wetsuits, but they use 4/3 year round. If you have your own 3/2, I recommend bringing it, some other surfers did this. The Camp - The entire team, from the owner Anastácio, the hosts, and the surf instructors, everyone is outgoing, friendly and a blast to be around. The vibe is the perfect balance of excitement and chill, always happy and max fun, but also had time to slow down, rejuvenate, and enjoy the beauty of Costa da Caparica. The rooms/beds/bathrooms were clean everyday. The breakfast offerings and included dinners were filling. Even the pizza restaurant (in Costa da Caparica) we went to for pizza night was delicious (makes sense, because it was owned by an italian couple). Lunch was the only meal you had to take care of by yourself, but was easy with snacks or restaurants/bars on the beach. Bikes provided are really a lifesaver! They make getting to the beach and town super convenient!! Anastácio is simply amazing with keeping everything running smoothly and making sure you have the best time of your life. Thank you Anastácio, and thank you for existing! ;D Overall, the surf camp is structured but loose. The hosts provide different activities everyday for you to take part in the evenings after everyones surf lessons were done, but if you don't want to, thats fine too (your loss, because they are really fun!). I recommend the paradise beach trip! The only note, being unprepared on my part coming from the the USA, was to have some Euros (~50€ will more than suffice for the entire week) on hand for paying your tab and buying snacks. Credit card is still acceptable when going out etc.

Wir waren hier eine Woche in der Hauptsaison. Das Camp ist wesentlich größer als wir dachten. Es sind insgesamt 3 Häuser, mit ca. 75 Gästen. Ich war bereits in mehreren Surfcamps und das war mit Abstand das anonymste. Das Camp ist weniger aufs Surfen ausgelegt sondern mehr auf eine spaßige Partywoche mit ein wenig Surfen. Zum Beispiel werden die Surfstunden nicht nach dem forecast gerichtet sondern einfach immer zu festen Zeiten durchgeführt (die Gruppen rotieren jedoch). Zum Surf Unterricht selber kann ich nichts sagen, da wir diesen nicht gebucht haben da in der Woche die Wellen sooo klein waren, dass wir uns lieber die Bretter selber ausgeliehen haben und free surfen waren. Das war definitiv die beste Entscheidung. Die Aktivitäten im Camp sind meist mit Alkohol verbunden und weniger eine gemütliche Camp Atmosphäre. Die Social Host/ Teamer / volunteers (wie man sie auch nennen mag) MÜSSEN jeden Abend mit den Gästen feiern gehen auch wenn sie da selber mal keine Lust zu haben. Wir hatten ein privates Doppelzimmer mit geteilten Badezimmer und waren in Haus 2 untergebracht. Als wir ankamen war der Boden total sanding und es wurde scheinbar nicht mal gefegt (haben uns dann einen Besen organisiert), und es gab auch nur eine Dusche im Haus. All in all es war nett vor allem für den Preis - wollt ihr wirklich surfen lernen geht lieber woanders hin.

I really have to appreciate the approach and effort of the team and instructors at the surf camp. The team did their best to create a pleasant atmosphere and program. The hostel rooms were clean and well equipped. The environment was nice, and the restaurant serving breakfast and dinner was excellent – really tasty. This camp is just simply awesome! You get coached sessions in the morning, and the coaches are super pumped and have all the gear you need to get up on your board the very first day. In the afternoon, you can hop on the little bike they give you to get to the surf school, which is really close to the camp. Wetsuits and boards are included, so you can surf as much as you want!||The surf school, camp apartments, and beach are all just a quick 5-minute bike ride away , super convenient! Plus, there’s always something fun going on like karaoke nights, club trips, or game nights after dinner. You’ll never be bored here. The team is super friendly, and the vibes are just great.||Ehm what else, I also tried snorkeling, 3 wheeler surf skating , churrascarias and local restaurants, played table tennis, and a bunch more stuff. Honestly, it was an amazing week can’t imagine a better camp out there! ❤️

I had a great wee in Gota Dagua, I went at the end of June and there were around 60 people at the camp, which I enjoyed, it created a good atmosphere and made it easy to meet others, especially as a solo traveler. The waves were good for beginners, my instructor, Tiago, clearly had a real passion for surfing and it showed in the way he taught. Outside the surf, there were daily social activities that kept things fun and helped everyone connect. Great vibe. Would definitely go back.

Gota Dagua Surf Camp was such an amazing experience where I accomplished all of my goals and more. My private room was comfortable and aesthetic with a balcony and lemon tree close enough to pick the lemons. Everything was very well-organized and I learned so much from the ocean theory class, video analysis, and immediate feedback in the water from the surf instructors. Being able to be with the same small group and the same surf instructor helped me to improve a lot over the course of the week. Pietro was great at noticing even the small details that resulted in immediate improvements in my surfing. The surf-skate class with Romi was a great opportunity to learn how to improve my surf skills even when I am land-locked. The location of the camp is the perfect mix of chill beach vibes with convenient access to nearby Lisbon. The social hosts and Anastacio were incredibly welcoming and you could tell they all enjoyed each other and their work. As a solo traveler, I never felt alone and have come away with life-long surf friends from all over the world. I have already booked my trip to return later this year and plan to return to re-unite with my new friends again next year.

To start, I’d like to say that I’ve visited several surf camps over the past twelve years and can make a fair comparison. I chose Gota Dagua because you can borrow a wetsuit and board for free and head into the water on your own – no need to book lessons if you don’t want to. That flexibility really stood out to me. +++ Accommodation, Rooms, and Restaurant +++ The camp is in a quiet location but still close to the surf beach. There are three houses with pools and common areas. Bicycles are available free of charge – everyone gets one for the whole week, which is super convenient for getting to the beach or the promenade. You can choose between double and four-bed rooms with bunk beds. I stayed in a four-bed room and can highly recommend it: clean, with a wardrobe and a comfortable mattress. The restaurant is the heart of the camp – it’s where people meet, have a drink (they even have draft beer!), and start their evenings together. Although breakfast and dinner are included, I recommend checking out the menu as well. The burgers in particular are fantastic – reasonably priced and made with care. You can tell that the ingredients are high quality and that the kitchen team is well chosen. +++ The Food – Breakfast and Dinner Included! +++ Breakfast is varied and has something for everyone: muesli, bread rolls, cheese, cold cuts, jams – everything you need. There’s also a daily extra like scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, or Pasteis de Nata. Dinner is just as diverse – freshly cooked, healthy, and tasty. Occasionally, there’s sangria or even a wine tasting included. +++ The Team +++ It doesn’t feel like dealing with “staff” – it feels more like a big family. The team works well together, and you can tell they enjoy what they do and genuinely care for the guests. I always felt very welcome. Even outside the camp, in restaurants or from Uber drivers, you hear only good things about the team’s positive spirit. +++ Surfing +++ Whether you're a beginner or already have experience, the surf lessons are effective and well-structured. And if you’re just renting gear, the staff still take time to offer helpful tips and guidance. +++ Activities and Entertainment +++ There’s something happening every evening – games, karaoke, quiz nights, and more. Although I’m a bit older, I never felt out of place and had a great time. There’s a lot of variety, including cultural experiences like a trip to Lisbon, which I highly recommend. I set out for this experience with the idea of attempting surfing and maybe at the end of the week being able to ride at least one wave, those were my expectations. In reality, I found much more than that and my expectations were exceeded big time. I not only discovered a new passion, but also met many people with whom I shared fantastic moments that I will hardly forget. Kudos must be given to the entire organisation, from the guys in the restaurant, to the social hosts organising the activities, and of course to the very skilled surf instructors, without whom I wouldn't have even been able to even sit on the board. Key highlights are: * The proficient and knowledgable surf instructors taught on a high level (that even increased compared to my last stay 18 months ago). With my surf teacher's feedback and extensive attention to detail, I was able to improve my skills beyond my expectations * Crucial to me was the small size of the surf groups. We - a group of 3 friends - stayed at this beautiful surfcamp for an entire week. We are in our late 20s and had a blast; we took 5 surf lessons and went surfing one more time by ourselves (rent of board + wet suit were for free), had great times with all the other campers especially because of the eager volunteers and employees of gota dagua. The days are filled with diverse activities which you can but don’t have to take part in (but you should)! 1) The accommodation is good, 2) you get a rental bike for free which is amazing to get around in costa da caparica and 3)if you have any problems, they get quickly resolved by the lovely staff. Communication between campers & staff is very quick due to a whatsapp group so you can reach the staff and other campers in the blink of an eye. The surf lessons were nice, very beginner friendly with good group sizes and a very helpful video analysis. All in all I had a great, social, fun, exhausting (😂😮💨🏄🏼♀️), exhilarating, friendship-filled week I’d love to do again. Thank you Anastácio, Zizii, Jamina, Fabi, Marcos, Shandra, Tiago & Luiz 🖤

If carlsberg did surf camps this would be it. The hosts/volunteers where really nice and good at creating a nice group dynamic. They planned a nice week of activities, changing stuff around at short notice when needed due to weather conditions or changes in plans. The food/catering staff was amazing doing different meals for different dietary requirements. The rooms are basic but clean and they have nice common areas to chill out. Romi the surf coach not only has a passion for surfing but also teaching and was able to break stuff down into easy to understand bits and help me and the group progress during the week and genuinely seemed made up when people progressed. Caparica is also a nice chilled out location with a friendly vibe and the bikes you get access to are ideal for exploring. Lisbon is also only 20/30 minutes away by uber if you fancy a mad night out. Overall 10/10 can't wait to go back. 🤙

With our surf instructor, we had surfed before the camp, and so got very little coaching despite paying €30 a session. If you’re an absolute beginner you seem to get a lot more focus and attention. The camp was much bigger than we expected; in our week there were 65 people.

Wir waren für eine Woche dort - übrigens muss man hier mind. 1 Woche buchen weil sie es sehr "freundschaftlich & abenteuerlich" gestalten & damit kein ständiges "Kommen & Gehen" ist - so können wirklich Freundschaften & ein nettes Klima entstehen. Wir waren in einen 8er-Mädls-Dorm einquartiert, mit 2 Duschkabinen, WC-Kabine & AC, was echt toll war. Das Haus an sich war auch immer sauber & ordentlich! Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich mit Yoghurt, Gebäck, Gemüse, Wurst, Obst,... & es gab auch jeden Tag etwas "Besonderes" wie "Pastel de Nata" oder Croissants. Auf Allgerien, glutenfrei, vegan, etc. wurde auch immer Rücksicht genommen. Beim Abendessen gab es immer auch Sangria oder eine flasche Wein. Ansonsten konnte man sich auch jederzeit an der Bar etwas holen. Die Volunteers waren alle immer sehr hilfsbereit & lustig drauf - waren für jeden Spaß zu haben & es gab jeden Abend andere Veranstaltungen wie Karaoke night, wine tasting, dance class,... Das Surfen & die Surfstunden waren auch ok - wir hatten leider ein paar Tage ohne Wellen. Die Organisation der Surfstunden könnte aber besser laufen - es waren oft lange Wartezeiten als Gruppen & auch etwas chaotisch. Cool war dass wir Fahrräder für die ganze Woche bekamen, so konnten wir uns frei bewegen. Etwas unübersichtlich & verwirrend war, dass wir bei dem Barbecue-Abend extra bei der Buchung schon bezahlen & uns dafür anmelden mussten, & andere Gäste nicht?! Sowie wurde auch für jede kleine Extra-Aktivität wie das "Ice-Bathing" Geld verlangt. Dennoch alles in allem war es eine gelungene Woche!

I have been to a lot of camps and had a really good time at the camp! Great atmosphere! But i think it’s also good to be aware of some critical points depending your needs. Positive for me: Good atmosphere and lots of very nice people! Surfing coaches give a good vibe Lots of activities Cycles to go to the beach Less positive for me (depending your needs) - Focus is a lot on going out and drinking. - Big group of younger people (20-25) - Diner is okay, but not great. - There is only 1 spot for surfing. For beginners perfect, when you surfed more it’s not great when there are no waves. - It’s not a solid surf camp like Morroco. Loved that by the way. They have a partnership and you pay more if you book from out of Solid Surf. This feels not correct. Hopefully this helps to find the right surfcamp for your needs! 🤘🏽

The Houses are very close to the beach. And very nice. On the Surfcamp they were cleaned regularly. The volunteers and staff really want you to have a great time. The camp has a small focus on drinking and parties. You really need to be the Person for this. In general the organisation is very Portuguese. So be warned that you should have a lot of flexibility. The surfside of the Surfcamp was very professional. (For a first timer) I think I can surf on my own now but still know that there is a lot of possible improvement. Marie told me I should write that she is the best volunteer. ;) But that would be unfair to the others. All volunteers do a lot! I had greater moments and talks with each and every one of them.

Gota Dagua is echt het beste surfkamp waar ik ben geweest! Je word heel warm ontvangen en het voelt direct als thuis komen. De locatie is ook echt perfect, je loopt zo naar het strand of gaat met de fiets die je erbij krijgt :). Het ontbijt is goed en uitgebreid, ze hebben zelfs glutenvrij brood gehaald! Ook met avond eten hielden ze zonder moeite rekening met allergieën en dieet wensen, zoals vegetarisch! Verder werd het goed schoongemaakt en was het erg netjes! Gedurende de dag zijn er veel opties voor activiteiten, dus je hoeft je nooit te vervelen. Ook zijn er goede surfinstructors die echt de tijd nemen voor de techniek! Ich war für eine Woche im Camp. Die Stimmung war sehr locker und es machte jeden Tag Spass mit den Leuten zu surfen oder den Abend oder Tag zu verbringen. Es gab jeden Abend Aktivitäten für die Gäste. Auch würde ein Ausflug organisiert, an dem jeder teilnehmen konnte. Die Lage vom Camp ist optimal gelegen. Der Strand ist in der Nähe und doch hat man seine Ruhe. Auch ist man schnell in Lissabon. Langweilig wird einem in dem Camp sicher nicht. Auch die Partylaune ist in Ordnung. Es ist eher ruhig, jedoch kann man jeden Abend gut na Caparica oder Lissabon in den Ausgang. Dies wird auch immer wieder vum Camp organisiert. Wer ein reines Partycamp sucht, ist aber hier falsch. Zumindest in meiner Woche waren alle immer gut drauf und haben gemeinsam gefeiert. Die Surflehrer haben uns das Beste beigebracht, egal wie gut oder schlecht die Wellen waren.

I stayed at this surf camp for one week in September and had the best time! The rooms are clean, and the staff in the house and at the surf school are super friendly. We had a really nice group of international people, in the age range 22-35. Average age was 27 I would guess. Lots of people travel solo, and since there are many activities it’s easy to make friends. We had surf and yoga lessons (optional) every day, and most evenings had an activity as well. We had karaoke night, beach party and a half day trip to Lisbon. Partying is optional, but if you really don’t like to party or to drink, this might not be the place for you. The food was above my expectations, enjoyed every dinner here! Vegetarian and vegan options are also possible. If you’re unsure about booking: just do it. You will have the best time! I’m already planning to book another trip here or to the Sri Lanka house with the friends I made during the week I stayed here.💙 Little point of improvement: some new fabric on the couch pillows outside won’t hurt haha ;)

Et pour quelques euros de uber et minutes de trajet, on se retrouve au coeur de Lisbonne. La semaine fut une réussite sur tous les aspects... et a surpassé de loin nos attentes! we enjoyed our time at the camp very much! The camp has a small pool, common areas and ping pong table, chill out corners and is only 5min to the beach. You can easily get there quickly by bike. The location is really perfect! The best thing is the people! The whole team is unique!!! We especially liked the joint events and the surf lessons. Alan our surf instructor was phenomenal, we learned so much and always felt comfortable and in good hands. Also the yoga lessons helped me a lot to focus better while surfing and to start the day well. I especially liked doing the yoga outdoors. (I won't name everyone because there are many). The rooms are perfect and the food is fantastic, always freshly cooked and for every need and diet. Equipment, bicycles, swimming pool and water always available. Surf equipment in exceptional condition and professional, attentive, engaging and effective instructors, whatever your level in a week you will see improvements (I have visited many surf camps and this is not always the case). Caparica is in a splendid area, southern Portugal therefore much more likely to have good weather, optimal water temperature for surfing, a quiet and clean town with all essential services just 20 minutes from Lisbon. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this surf camp and I have to say that it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The location of the camp is top-notch - just a 5-minute walk away from the beach. What's more, the camp provides bicycles for all, so you can easily get around the area and explore other nearby places. The facilities at the camp were excellent. All three different buildings were nearby each other and were clean, beautiful, and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail when it came to maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities. But what really made my stay at the camp unforgettable was the amazing staff. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure that we had the best possible experience. I especially want to give a shoutout to Anastasio (aka "ALEX 33 years old" :D), who was an exceptional guide. He had some of the best jokes, was super knowledgeable about Portugal's history, and was just an all-around great person to be around. If I were a co-founder of this camp, I would give Anastasio a triple raise! He was one of the reasons that this week was unforgettable, and I rate this camp 5/5. The program of the surf camp was also very well planned out, with a lot of activities that kept us engaged and entertained throughout our stay. I was thoroughly impressed with the range of activities that were available, and I particularly appreciated the attention that was given to ensuring that there was something for everyone. Finally, I want to give a shoutout to the instructors at the camp. For our group of 15-20 people, we had 4 amazing instructors who were true professionals. They were able to help surfers at all levels, whether it was your first time standing on a surfboard or if you were already an experienced surfer. Overall, I had an incredible experience at this surf camp, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and fun-filled vacation.

I don’t recommend this school. I have surfed many times and took a beginner class to be with my friends who tried for the first time. 1. One of my friends got hurt and her coach couldn’t care less. My friend stayed on the beach for the full lesson without him coming over to check up on her. 2. For my part, the coach I had was unprofessional. He took more waves than I did while on the job (he only helped me in 2-3 waves during an hour class). At some point we had to paddle back on a big distance and he left with a wave to the beach because the current was « too strong ». If the current had really been this strong, I wouldn’t have managed like a walk in the park. Avoid the school, there are some much better ones around that are actually people-centered.

Also you can easily take the ferry to Lisbon, to explore the city. I went solo but have met many amazing people. I recommend this place en will probably return soon :D

If you're looking to learn how to surf, look no further. The instructors here are amazing, if you're serious and want to improve then they will be there for you, answer any questions, you will seriously get better even after just one week. Many people I went with had never surfed, all stood up on day one! The school is so well organised and just great fun. The camp is also excellent, great vibe, a mix of relaxed and energetic fun. Being picky, the rooms are very basic but you're not paying for a 5 star hotel, and the one thing that surprised me was how organised every day was, there's a schedule for everything but no one's forcing you to get involved in the extra activities. Definitely take them up on borrowing a bike, it's a quick ride to the beach but would be a longer walk for sure. I travelled alone for the first time in my life and made friends all over the world now, I had one of the most amazing weeks!

Went for the surf lessons and definitely will go back for the Gota D’Agua community ✌🏽 I got to know a lot of amazing people through their social activities, day trips, the dinner in Lisbon and when we went for a drink in the evening. Also, I ate healthy and delicious food everyday (in the morning: yogurt bowls, scrambled eggs, chorizo, coffee, orange juice; in the evening: pasta bolese, barbecue, vegan options, wine). The best thing: besides the food and social activities, I improved my surfing skills! I had some experience surfing before, but in the Gota D’Agua camp I learned to catch waves alone, which board to use, doing a good stand up and generally having a lot of fun - all the instructors are super chill, helpful and some are pro surfers even (Alan Saulo - look him up on Instagram). On top of that, I got to know the history of surf better and we also had a video analysis session. But wait, there’s more: I also had an amazing yoga class to improve my balance, a dancing class and a professional photographer took cool pictures of me. The camp is worth every penny, and if you’ve read until here: JUST BOOK THE CAMP ALREADY. :)

What can I say?! My friend and I booked this trip quite last minute because it was available and had good reviews. I was expecting to have a fun time but I didn’t expect it to be one of the best weeks of my life. We were extremely sad to leave. The instructors are so positive and passionate - they bring a lot of energy to every lesson. Both of us made so much progress with surfing in that week but the whole experience was so much more than that. We made great friends with some people at the camp, enjoyed the food, bar, games. At almost 30 years old I was worried it would be a bit of a younger crowd but the ages were really mixed and it didn’t feel weird to be there despite it being a hostel vibe. Everyone was super friendly. Shout out to all the staff but especially Pedro Burata, Ari, Ivo and the photographer Miguel. The chef Luiz and volunteers also… everyone made it an unforgettable experience! The rooms are basic but it’s what you expect for the value and type of holiday. The only negative was sometimes it felt awkward having to be quiet at 10pm due to it being a residential area but we understood it and went to local bars…(we pretty much lived in Fresh Bar). Where to start?! You are probably looking for a nice surf camp to either learn to surf (like me) or practice surfing some more. Well, the Gota dAgua surfcamp offers that, and SO MUCH MORE. My stay was intended to last a week, but I exctended my stay with 6 more nights. The surfing lessons were proffesional, the teachers are well experienced and they take the time for everybody. They really get to know you during your sessions and they keep an eye on everyone, no matter what level you are at. You dont only learn from them, but they give you lots of energy and encourage you to do a better job. Appart from the lessons it has also been an amazing stay. The crew will do everything in their power to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They have a fun planning throughout the week, in which you can participate (or not). Nothing is manditory, so if you want to do your owne thing, its also fine. But trust me, you’ll want to participate. The food is also worth mentioning. Both breakfast and dinner are super nice. Its nutricious and tasty. They serve the food with great proud and pleasure and you can really tell. The ‘family’ dinners are also nice to talk about the waves you took that day, or gonna take tomorrow. There’s not even time for me to explain how much fun the parties are 😆. Time to round up. I got to thank the whole crew, who really made me feel like family, for everything. I will def see them again soon! 🙏 Obrigado amigos.

I booked this very spontaneously because I needed some time at the beach after almost 1 year of home office. Everything was super uncomplicated. I got a pickup from the airport to the house on arrival, met the other guests for the welcome drinks the same night and got to meet all the supercool staff. I upgraded to the intensive surf package during the week (2 lessons a day) because I really liked the lessons, and can only recommend it. The daily breakfast and dinner was always outstanding and very diverse. Any question I had regarding the region / schedule etc was always resolved very quickly by the staff. What should i say? I booked for 8 nights the full package (Surf lessons, dorm, breakfast/dinner etc.) just to improve my surfing skills and escape the rainy and dark fall season in Germany. In the end I’ve extended my stay for two further nights and If I would able to, I would be still there. It had been a pretty good time. The Hostel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, but you are fast at the beach (10min walking, 5min by bike) or in the centre of Lisbon (20min by Car, Uber = 15€). The hostel itself is a really nice place built out of a lot of love and having a quite good atmosphere. It is clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There are different opportunities for a sit in and relax or to meet other people. But not the location is special what is about the place. It is the people who are living and working there. The owner team consisting out of four friends who are totally friendly and supporting you in any way they can. There are also regular events, like dinners or other stuff, which is quite nice. In addition, there is Luis, who is the good soul of the place and is cooking awesome dishes! But also, the volunteers need to be mentioned who are doing a great job! Regarding the surf school and the lessons, I can say that It had been really helpful to improve my skills. The material is good, modern and in a proper condition. The teachers who are having a lot of knowledge are supporting you individually and giving you the right advise, which I didn’t have experienced so far in my surf career 😉. Even with Corona and in the end of the season it had been a great experience and it could not have been better! Thanks guys and I will be back!

Vorig jaar maakte ik in een impulsieve bui de beslissing om op surftrip te gaan. Nog nooit eerder op een board gestaan, maar het als je naar Home and away kijkt, lijkt het toch best easy. Enkel met surfverwachtingen trok ik richting Gota d'agua. Maar wauw, wat een mooie warme mensen. Het familie gevoel dat zij hebben had ik zelfs nooit kunnen plaatsten bij een 'surftripje'. Dit jaar moest en zou ik teruggaan, enkel en alleen al voor de sfeer en warmte. De renovatie van de accommodatie gaf enkel nog maar een bonus. Deze is dik oké, meer zelfs dan oké. Maar verdwijnt enkel en alleen al naar de achtergrond door de sfeer, warmte en gezelligheid van de aanwezige vrijwilligers en organisators. Zij zijn niet degene die je "Hoi" zeggen en "Hier is je kamer". Zij zijn veelmeer dan dat, ze laten iedereen zicht toevoegen en stellen zich super flexibel op. Ben je niet de sociaalste? Geen probleem er is altijd wel iemand in het kamp die bij je persoonlijkheid past. Enja, de intructeurs, zoveel passie en liefde voor het surfen. Ze zorgen ervoor dat ieder op zijn eigen tempo zich kan ontwikkelen. Met natuurlijk het vele opstaan en nog meer vallen. Gho ik ben vol lof en kan nog zo even verder blijven doorgaan.||||Maar twijfel je of alleen opreis gaan of met een vriend of vriendin wel ten goede komt? Gewoon een booking maken en je zal het je ver van beklagen!

I spent the best week of the corona season at the Gota d'Agua surf camp, the team took into account all the hygiene and safety measures to allow me and the other guests to have a good time in a safe environment. I had an amazing time surfing and meeting new people. The staff do a great job of making everyone feel welcome which makes them more welcome. The dinner buffet is probably the best I have had at a guesthouse. Each evening the variety of food is different, making it difficult to leave the camp for dinner. The choice of breakfast can be improved but it is good and it will definitely set you up for early surf sessions. They have a bunch of other activities and tours in the area including visiting the hill to watch the sunset and the beach paradise that I definitely recommend. I really recommend it and will be back. They have the front outdoor terrace with sun loungers, huge communal outdoor dining tables to the side and the best is at the back with a games rooms, bar & lounge area. We had some great nights out in the garden with the communal dinners & a few beers after. SERVICES It is a surf villa so the main attraction is surfing. Ricardo the owner & the staff have a surf school close by that i used everyday. Breakfast is included with the possibility of added communal dinners made my chef Luis. The team can organise anything for you from boat trips to cabs just ask & they will find a way. LOCATION Located about 30 mins outside downtown Lisbon (you can get an Uber from the airport for €15) in Costa Da Caparica. Is perfectly placed to head out to the beach, take in some local meals at the corner bar & go out for the night in the city.
