Just a short 20 day visit for me but and exceptional one. If your looking for a serene out of the hustle and bustle of Canggu but close enough to walk or scoot in no time. This is the place, situated amongst scenic rice fields it really is peaceful. Ari and yogi are great hosts. They do a great job of keeping to place really clean and tidy. Matra has a few locations and you have access to them which is handy cause the co-living place has a small gym to use. They make it really easy to rent a bike if you need one too. The rooms are nice, some have a better view then others, I would recommend trying to get one on the second or third floor. The beds are really comfy which you can’t take for granted in Bali. ||Grateful I came accross this place!!

I spent 4mths at Matra Surf Camp and absolutely loved it. It's overlooking the rice fields in a local neighbourhood - it's peaceful, clean and friendly!||||Ari and Yogi make you feel at home and are always up for a chat. They keep the place so spotless and the rooms are cleaned 6days of the week||||You will need a scooter to get around as it's a little out of the way but it's worth it for the peace and quiet||||Will definitely be back next year

I was staying a month and a half in the shared room and really felt at home. The room is always clean, as are the common areas. The beds are comfortable and large, the shared room, although small, is comfortable enough to spend even a long stay. It has a very nice and spacious kitchen overlooking the rice fields where you can cook your own food. Matra Bali Surf Camp is a very cozy quiet place, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and it is an excellent place to meet new people and make great friends. I definitely recommend this place, in addition to the location is perfect, close to everything but no noise, with a scooter you get everywhere easy and fast. I will be back !!

The room was OK; air conditioning and a fridge were present. The bathroom could use a good clean with descaler or something similar, but overall the room was good. Worth noting: there is a TV but no satellite, and there is a DVD player but no DVDs... The bicycles and motorcycles they rent out are downright bad; even dangerous (they send you onto the road with a flat tire and the brakes didn't work properly either; the helmets were of equally questionable quality). The staff was absolutely not friendly; it seemed like everything I asked for was too much trouble.

Nice guesthouse, neat beds, beautiful view of the rice fields, and friendly staff. It is located a bit remotely, though, and our room was next to that of an older French man staying there with a young girl; we had some trouble with that (no disturbance otherwise).

Very clean rooms, quiet, view over the rice fields very friendly neighborhood. No wonder I’ve been there a second time. It was a great time in Matra Bali again. Jogi and Ari are very nice and friendly people. They are taking a good care and cleaning the rooms and the whole place great. Highly recommended!

I’ve been living at the surf camp for the last 6 months and I can honestly say this is the most peaceful, welcoming guesthouse I’ve ever stayed in. The room is bigger than the average room in any other guesthouse - there is a ‘wet room’ which is basically a walk in shower area. There’s loads of storage space, a huge bed, massive shared kitchen, and small pool. Yogi & Ari are the kindest most welcoming people I’ve ever met. Anything you need they’ll be happy to help - scooter, airport transfers etc, helping you with directions to places. There’s overnight security at weekends too which is great. It’s very safe, really not a party place at all because it’s in the middle of the rice fields. You also have access to the coworking space about 5 minutes drive away which has fibre optic WiFi and a cafe. I’ve loved every minute of staying here, and i’ll Be back in a couple of months to stay for another few months again. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

I really liked Matra Bali Surf Camp and even came back to this place some time later. One of the staff members is always around, so there is always someone to answer questions or requests. The bedroom and the bathroom were very clean. From the kitchen area you have a view of a ricefield. In the neighbourhood you will find a lot of local warungs with amazing food and there is a supermarket close by. I highly recommend this place.

I had a great experience in Matra Bali Surf Camp. The staff Ari and Yoggi were allways around and are very friendly, they gave advice about places to go and things to do around the neighbourhood. The pool is very clean as well as the dorm room where I was staying. The kitching area is great and has a view for the rice fields - you can prepare your own meals, which is very handy, specially if you are staying for a long period. It is a place that I certainly recommend.

Matra Bali surf camp is a great place with very chilled atmosphere. It's located in a quite neighbourhood with many warungs and shops around. It's a perfect spot for solo travellers as well as for those travelling in a group. The staff Ari and Yogi are simply amazing, they are very helpful and always ready to give some tips on the local food, places, surf or yoga classes and many more. I Will definately come back one day.

I had the best stay at this Guest House. It is clean, quiet and very affordable. The staff Ary and Yogi were so helpful and friendly. They are always around to help with any problems you have. The pool is beautiful and kept very clean. I stayed in the dorm room which was kept very clean and had a great bathroom. I highly recommend this guest house in Canggu area - It is also very close to all the shops/food/beach.

I stayed there for 4 night with my husband, nice place to stay big room, but they didn't clean the room or offered new amenities for 2 days. The staff just hang around on the stairs, didn't even say hello at once.

Very nice hostel with private rooms available. From the top, you can watch the sun set beautifully over the rice fields. The rooms are new and nice, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious with a good shower! A very nice place just outside the center, but with a Grab Bike you can be in the center for 15,000 IDR. They also rent out scooters and bikes themselves. Highly recommended!

I stayed for a week and then moved to another town, but two weeks later I returned because of how comfortable and clean the place was! The staff was very friendly and the area is fantastic, quiet, and with supermarkets and warungs nearby. I'll definitely be back!

Had wonderful days at this accommodation; clean, comfortable bed, and a nice shower! I booked a room to myself, spacious, and lockers with locks on them. Rented a scooter from them, and you're at the beach within 10 minutes.

The people who work there are wonderful. Starting with the airport pickup when we missed our flight and couldn't let them know, the driver was there (after a four-hour delay, well past midnight). The surf instructor (Joko) was fantastic and even helped me buy my board. And of course, we mustn't forget the two lovely people who looked after us at the hotel. Everything is spotless, the rooms are very comfortable and pleasant. And the setting is amazing: breakfast with a view of the terraced rice paddies and a swimming pool. We hope to return for the end of our trip!

Super nice atmosphere in this guesthouse. It feels like a hotel with the lovely bed and a spacious double room! Definitely worth staying for a few days (or even weeks)! Lovely people too!

Great for unwinding before the last day. Everything was super clean, large beds with nice soft duvets and plenty of pillows. Friendly staff; I arrived quite late so someone from the hostel quickly took me to a eatery on a scooter. The location is a bit less than ideal, but I think everything is spread out a bit here.

Can't say anything negative about this place. Good service, clean, big and spacious rooms, kitchen access, pool, The best of all the places in Bali I've been to. I will return to stay for a longer period than just 7 days at this place.

We had a fantastic time at Matra Bali Surf Camp and would definitely come back. The rooms are a good size and clean, and the bathroom is huge. There's also a pool for cooling off during the day, surrounded by comfortable beanbag chairs. Breakfast, served on the terrace overlooking the rice paddies, is simply amazing (the omelet was divine). The location is a bit out of town, but with the scooter you can rent right there, you're in the hustle and bustle of Canggu in just a few minutes. We would definitely return.

Had wonderful days at this beautiful hostel. Comfortable bed, room super clean and new, and the shower is truly amazing. It is also spacious. The location is beautiful, nestled between rice fields and surrounded by super friendly locals. It is a bit far from the center, but you can rent a scooter or bike for a cheap price. It is a 20-minute walk to the famous Jl. Batun Balong, a supermarket. So definitely recommended! Oh, and breakfast is prepared for you with eggs, vegetables, and fruit. And you can choose how you want your egg. Go for it!

The room was very pleasant, the staff very welcoming, and the neighborhood quiet. The hotel is lovely with a swimming pool, a 5-minute scooter ride from the beach, and very close to the local market and supermarket. The price is very affordable for the quality.

It really is a lovely spot to unwind and explore the surroundings. Beautiful view from the kitchen. Unfortunately, it was full and I couldn't stay any longer. Scooters are also nice to rent. Lots of tasty eateries nearby. Occasionally the staff didn't know everything, but that's part of the experience!

Visiting Bali again. Searching and found this guesthouse. The place is beautiful. The people are fun. Just as perfect as you need.||||The location is a bit secluded. Amidst rice paddies, chirping birds, and friendly locals. Not far from Berawa beach. Perfect 😎

A beautiful guesthouse in a quiet location just outside Canggu. The view of the rice paddies is breathtaking. I stayed in the dorm room, which was very well-maintained, bright, and also had a view of the rice paddies. The bathroom was clean, with a lovely shower with hot water and a large mirror. There's also a kitchen, which was equally clean (even with a blender). The pool with beanbag chairs is perfect for relaxing. Oh, and the Wi-Fi is excellent! All in all, highly recommended, and the staff is incredibly friendly and fun.

Great room with a comfortable bed, hot shower, fridge, TV, and air conditioning. Cleaning is done every day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A shared kitchen is available if you want to cook your own meals. The location is a bit secluded, and it is a 15-minute scooter ride to the beach.

I arrived here in the middle of the night, completely spontaneously, received a friendly welcome, and the next morning I settled into my bed in the dormitory. It has lockers, very comfortable beds, air conditioning, fresh towels, and a spacious, modern Western-style bathroom with a private entrance. There's also a large communal kitchen, which is usually quite lively. The entire property is impeccably maintained and very clean. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff are friendly and always cheerful. The guesthouse is also located right next to rice paddies, which further contributes to the pleasant climate. I can highly recommend it!

I stayed in a dorm room; it was nice, with air conditioning, good beds, and a clean, spacious shared bathroom. The breakfast was good and complete for only $2 USD. The atmosphere was great. The best part was the pool and the balconies with panoramic views of the rice fields. You can rent motorbikes and take surf lessons.

Arriving very spontaneously, I was given a spot in a shared room for four people. The room is bright and clean, and there's a fairly large safe. The bathroom is spacious, with a huge mirror and hot water. And on top of that, there's a charming view of rice terraces and a lovely swimming pool. What more could you ask for?

I traveled alone and had the pleasure of staying in the resort's only dormitory. It was well-equipped with hot water and air conditioning. The beds were made, and the room was cleaned daily. The entire resort is very well-maintained and also offers a kitchen with a refrigerator for self-catering. I opted to book breakfast for a small fee and wasn't disappointed. It was freshly prepared (choices included fried eggs, pancakes, etc.), along with fresh fruit and coffee/tea. The staff was very accommodating. All in all, it was excellent value for money.

At 5:00 AM, we were very warmly welcomed at the guesthouse (without a reservation) by the owners! A lovely place to sleep, very good beds, and a clean bathroom! Definitely worth the price and time! Lots of nice eateries nearby and reasonably close to the beach.

We booked for a week and if we could have stayed longer, we would have; it exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious, the bed perfect—comfortable and a great size. There were plenty of movies and TV shows to watch in the room. The bathroom is huge and super clean! The pool is the heart of the place; it's wonderful to arrive and cool off with a dip, enjoying the fabulous views of the rice fields, as well as those from the communal kitchen. By the way, breakfast was always good, and there was water, coffee, and tea available all day. Something that was very useful was the refrigerator in the room; you can never have too many cold drinks in that heat! Without a doubt, the best thing about the place is its staff, always smiling and willing to help. The manager, Yoggi, was one of the kindest people we met. He not only helped us with what we needed but was also attentive to every detail and even spoiled us with breakfast a little late or stored our luggage. We also had the opportunity to meet other travelers staying there, and we had some fun evenings! Matra Bali was the best choice!!!

We booked a room at this hotel because we thought we'd find a surf camp there. In reality, it's just a guesthouse with surf lessons twice as expensive as on the beach. Otherwise, the rooms are decent and clean, with a beautiful view of the rice fields and a nice pool. The guesthouse is hard to find, especially at night. Call reception in advance so they can direct your taxi driver.

The shared room was generally clean, as was the shared bathroom, and the setting is beautiful. I 100% recommend this hotel. Renting a scooter is highly recommended as it's quite a distance from the beach, restaurants, etc. Breakfast must be taken before 9:00 AM and you must ask for it, otherwise they won't give you anything. The only minor criticism I have, aside from the hotel manager, is that the staff doesn't speak English, which caused communication difficulties on several occasions. I asked for breakfast several times, and the person who didn't speak English initially told me "from 9:00 AM" when it was earlier, and several times it was impossible to get any for no apparent reason. The only time I finally got some, I received two pieces of cut fruit on a plate; they hadn't gone shopping, and yet they charged me full price with no compensation whatsoever. I stayed alone in the room for a few days, and during that time they didn't clean the room or change the sheets for the guests who had left. These aren't major issues considering the setting, but they can be a little annoying.

Beautiful place in a very scenic area of ​​Bali. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. They also rent scooters so you can explore the surrounding area.

Small swimming pool. Scooter rental available. Surf lessons also offered. || The rooms are clean, bright, and quite spacious. The bathroom is a bit dark, but has a good amount of space. However, it would be useful to equip them with a squeegee, otherwise you always have your feet in the water. || Breakfast is average and could be improved. || A young, friendly, and slightly noisy atmosphere, which will be perfect for surfers who will be in the water early in the morning (5 minutes by scooter from the beach).
