We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Calcada. It is a beautifully authentic house in the heart of Tavira. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived.|Sangita and team were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great local restaurant recommendations and genuine hospitality. The location was perfect — peaceful & quiet yet close to everything we wanted to explore. Breakfast was amazing - fresh and delicious every morning.|What truly made this place special was the attention to detail and the care put into every aspect of the guest experience. We left with amazing memories and would gladly return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic stay in Tavira!

Fabulous guest house. So clean and feels like a 4 or 5 star. Comfy bed, Rituals toiletries and a great powerful shower. Loved the bean to cup coffee machine in the lounge. But my fave thing was breakfast in the roof terrace. Absolutely perfect! |The staff work so hard to keep the place perfect and are very friendly and helpful. Sangita checked me in and out and was great.

Good location. A little hard to find due to road work being done in the area. Parking nearby if there are any spaces left. Very nice breakfast on the roof top terrace and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We were so lucky to score a 2 night stay here on our Algarve travels. It’s a charming guesthouse, very quiet and peaceful, delicious breakfast and a great coffee maker! The caretakers are very sweet and provide daily room service. It’s so close to the river, bus stop, grocery and many restaurants and patios. Read the guidance on parking though, it’s above the inn. Or park at the public free lot by the bus station and walk on over. We loved this place!

This guesthouse is very central in Tavira, close to the Roman bridge and easy to walk to the bus station and ferry for Tavira island.||Sangita and her team are a credit to this guesthouse. We arrived late in the evening and messaged when we left the airport, so we were met on arrival. This does incur a €30 charge, but not a problem when the stay was such good value for money.||Our room was clean, comfortable and we had a lovely wet room, with an excellent shower.||Breakfast each day was amazing. You had a bowl of chopped fresh fruits, yoghurt, muesli, toast and preserves, croissant and ham and cheese. Fresh juice and tea or coffee. More than enough to set you up for the day. The first day we had breakfast up on the roof terrace, but due to the wasps that wanted to share our breakfast, we decided to have breakfast in the lounge area for the rest of our stay.||There is an incline to walk to the guesthouse but it is not a long way up and my husband who is asthmatic was ok with it. ||I researched a lot of accommodation before booking this and while we were here, we saw some of the hotels I considered, which were further from the centre and more expensive, so we definitely made the right choice.||The staff are so friendly and work so hard and the accommodation is superb. If we return to Tavira, I won't hesitate to book here again.

Calcada Questhouse is a very cosy and lovely stay, in the centre of Tavira, 5 minutes walk to the boat to Ihla de Tavira ( beach/ island)|Everything was perfect|The room, beds and bathroom where clean, nice, spacious and modern|Every day cleaning and fresh towels|The host, Sanquita is her name, is very friendly and allowed to help and explaine eveything with a big smile and she is fast with answers on Whatsapp |It was possible to drop our luggage before Inn Check time and leave it after Out Check Time, because we had a late evening flight and it was also possible to change and have a shower before our departure|Calcada questhouse is having a nice rooftop and a nice livingroom with free coffe, thea and water|We are very happy to had our stay in this cosy and lovely questhouse |Thank you Sanquita

We loved this place-the eclectic and thoughtful decor, the homey but elevated feel of it, the delicious breakfast and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Calcada House is absolutely fabulous - perfectly located, very comfortable and very well managed by the delightful Sangita. I stayed for five weeks over Dec-Jan period (the weather was perfect - sunny every day and great for walking and exploring) and this is the time of the year when it is set up for co-living/co-working. I shared the house with a wonderful group of independent women, all interested in doing some things together (some meals, short trips, evening movie sessions etc.) whilst still allowing for privacy for working or solo time. Highly recommended!

Tamsin, Andy and Sangita are absolutely wonderful hosts. I have been Co-Working / Living in Calçada several times now and it is brilliant! One of my favourite places. A space where you can meet a handful of friendly, likeminded people, all with different interests in a home away from home. There is space to work from your room or in the social working room - both great! There is everything you need (& more), surrounded by lots of plants and a stunning rooftop terrace. It is beautiful and relaxing. A really special place. Tavira itself is a lovely town and there are lots of great places to eat, a gym close by and boat to the Formosa beach which is gorgeous for a walk, especially at sunset!

Great location, nice and central to the town but also a very quiet, peaceful setting. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was large, perfectly clean and cool (the air conditioning was a bonus!), a great place to come back to for a rest or to escape the heat of the day. We enjoyed the upstairs terrace area where breakfast is served, and often sat there in the shade during the day, on the sun loungers, reading our books. It also had a small fridge up there for your cold drinks. The room was a good size, on the lower level, very clean, with a wet room shower. Everyday the staff came in and remade the bed, and took the towels and air dried them on the terrace before replacing them back - very eco friendly! Highly recommend this place

I stayed with Tamsin and Andy the whole November 2022. They rent the guesthouse as a Coliving place in winter and it was my first ever Coliving experience. We were 4 Coliving partners in total and had an amazing time in Tavira. Great restaurants and music bars and Tamsin and Andy were always helpful with providing recommendations. The guesthouse is super well maintained and so cosy, that it really felt like being at home. Internet connection fast and steady. We never missed anything and some of us will be back very soon!

Really this is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed, everything was perfectly done and immaculate. Quiet rooms, good curtains to allow for sleeping in, lovely linen. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Calcada Guesthouse. I stayed in February of 2022, and it was my first coliving experience. My room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The Guesthouse is gorgeously designed and well managed. The owners, Tamsin and Andy, are lovely and always available if you have a request. Tavira is the gem of the Algarve, and I spent many days wandering the quaint streets and eating out at delicious restaurants. I had no problem working in the house with the other colivers, and I especially enjoyed working on the sunny rooftop. I plan to return!

Die Unterkünfte sind ruhig, komfortabel, einladend und sehr geschmackvoll. Auch wenn die Schlafzimmer nicht sehr groß sind, sind die öffentlichen Räume feinsinnig gestaltet und sehr geräumig. Das ausgezeichnete Frühstück wird auf der wunderschönen Dachterasse eingenommen. Es sind nur wenige Schritte ins Zentrum der Stadt.

We picked up our rental car at Faro airport with nothing more planned for our two weeks than the first 3 nights at Calçada Guesthouse. We enjoyed it (and Tavira) so much we extended one more night. Wonderful hosts who were very nice and interesting to talk with, lovely breakfast served at the roof terrace. Great tips for restaurants in Tavira. You need to park your car a few hundred meters away the narrow streets, but that was no problem for us, and the driving instructions worked perfectly.

Filtered drinking water and the nice coffee machine were nice touches, and we enjoyed the rooftop — it’s a great place to bring your own wine. Andy und Tamsen lieben ihre Gäste und sind jederzeit auf ihr Wohl bedacht. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Das Guesthouse ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und absolut sauber. Die Dachterasse ist jederzeit für die Göste nutzbar und lädt ein, dort den Nachmittag zu verbringen. Das Frühstück ist immer frisch und lecker zubereitet. Abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte in questo b&b.. peccato, ci saremo rimasti molto di più! Curato nei minimi dettagli, centralissimo e con una grande attenzione al cliente. Il proprietario, Daniel, è stato gentilissimo e ha cercato di farci sentire come fossimo a casa nostra. Ho soggiornato in questo piccolo b&b per una notte. Innanzi tutto bisogna dire che le foto disponibili in internet su questo e su altri siti non gli rendono giustizia. La gestione è affidata ad un gruppo di ragazzi giovani molto disponibili ed ospitali. E forse ospitale è la parola migliore per descrivere questa realtà. Il clima che si respira infatti non è quello di un albergo o di un posto "dove dormire", il clima è quello di una casa in cui si sta bene, è un posto in cui ci si sente a casa. Vi sono diversi spazi comuni (soggiorno con camino e con magnifiche vetrate che lasciano entrare moltissima luce e una splendida terrazza arredata con divani, sdraio, amache, ...) che possono essere utilizzati liberamente da tutti gli ospiti. La colazione non è inclusa nel prezzo e qualora non la richiediate vi viene comunque data la possibilità di usufruire di latte, caffè e the (tutti a disposizione) e qualsiasi altra cosa desideriate, senza alcun problema di sorta.||Le camere non sono grandissime ma risultano comunque confortevoli e si vede che sono state ristrutturate di recente e sono arredate in maniera essenziale ma accogliente.||La posizione è strategica: in una piccola via non trafficata ma che si trova a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro, dal lungo fiume e dal punto di imbarco per i traghetti diretti a Ilha de Tavira.||Un aspetto da migliorare è, a mio parere, rappresentato dal bagno. La soluzione di realizzare la zona doccia senza un piatto (ma solamente con piastrelle inclinate e una piletta di scarico centrale), con una semplice tenda e con un soffione fisso a soffitto non è proprio la soluzione migliore che ci si possa aspettare per un bagno di un b&b situato in una località di mare.

Estuvimos 7 noches. Muy bien todo. La atención, la limpieza. El sitio es super-tranquilo en un callejón al lado del centro del pueblo y por tanto muy estratégico. Los desayunos muy completos y fenomenales. Aunque parezca que no, se puede aparcar fácilmente, o en la propia subidita o después cerca de la estación de autobuses. Es una posada con encanto, con mucho encanto y muy pocas habitaciones. Si se quiere ir a la playa de Isla de Tavira, el ferry está a 10 minutos a pie, aunque en agosto no es la mejor idea por lo masificada que está y las esperas al sol. Mejor ir a playas en dirección España, como la de Lota (muy buena y con menos gente).

Nous avons aimé l'accueil de Daniel et Andy qui ont été d'une extrême gentillesse. Nôtre chambre était très agréable et confortable avec balcon donnant sur une place très calme sans passage. De plus le ménage est fait quotidiennement et les serviettes de bain sont changés tous les jours également. La literie est d'excellente qualité. Clim dans chaque chambre. Les petits déjeuné sont très très copieux mais un peu tard à mon goût 9h00 du matin. Parasols, et raquettes de plage sont à disposition. Terrasse offrant une vue exceptionnelle sur les toits de la ville :-) c'est également l'endroit du petit dej. Si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit Daniel et Andy sont à votre disposition. C'est avec plaisir que je séjournerai à nouveau au calcada guesthouse. |Pour faire suite à un commentaire plus bas concernant la taille d'une chambre soit disant petite. |Effectivement elle est plus petite que celle que j'avais ( juste à côté ) mais nous sommes loin du placard et il y a largement de la place pour se poser et entreposer ses affaires chambre très mignonne et agencée avec goût. |

Zentral gelegenes von Engländern betriebenes kleines Gästehaus. Schöne Zimmer, teilweise mit Ausblick auf den Fluss und die Altstadt und modernem geräumigen Badezimmer. Den Service übernehmen zwei junge Portugiesen. Täglich frische Handtücher. Wer will kann für 7,50 € pro Person ein gutes Frühstück dazu buchen. Zu Fuß benötigt man etwa 15 Minuten zum Bahnhof, von dem man alle Orte zwischen Faro und Villa Real bequem erreichen kann. Noch eine Anmerkung zu den in Tavira zentral gelegen Hotels. Da die Bahnlinie Faro nach Villa Real über Tavira verläuft, wird die gesamte Innenstadt zwischen 7 und 22 Uhr mehrmals von der Bahnlinie beschallt.

Une petite maison très bien située à proximité immédiate du centre ville mais très au calme, dans une ruelle (calçada) piétonne.||L'ensemble est joliment aménagé et décoré pour tirer le meilleur parti de volumes assez réduits.||On entre dans une vaste pièce commune qui ouvre sur un patio bien végétalisé. C'est clair, agréable et l'accueil du personnel est chaleureux.||Les chambres, en revanche, sont un peu petites. Au rez-de-chaussée, celles qui donnent sur la cour, plutôt sombres, sont certainement très agréables par forte chaleur mais au printemps, les moustiques vous interdisent l'accès au micro patio privatif. ||Par souci d'économie d'énergie, les chambres sont équipées d'ampoules basse consommation, malheureusement trop faibles pour lire le soir.||Celles qui donnent sur la placette sont un peu plus grandes et plus lumineuses.||Les salles d'eau sont très exiguës, mini lavabo, peu de place pour les affaires de toilette, un simple rideau de douche pour une douche à l'italienne qui rend vite l'espace impraticable à cause de l'eau. Le pommeau de douche est fixé si haut qu'il est impossible pour certain(e)s de le régler.||Avec quelques petites améliorations pour le confort des voyageurs, l'endroit serait parfait.||Les petits-déjeuners servis en terrasse sont très complets et copieux et leur prix modéré comparé à certains hôtels.||Le personnel est soucieux du bien être des visiteurs et n'est pas avare de conseils pour profiter au mieux de votre séjour.||Dans l'ensemble, malgré nos remarques précédentes, c'est une très bonne adresse pour un court séjour à Tavira.

Van bij onze aankomst stond Daniel ons op te wachten. Hij toonde ons het huis en onze kamer. Er is een gezellige huiskamer die we niet veel hebben benut gezien we het ontbijt buiten op het dakterras konden nemen met mooi uitzicht op Tavira. Dat ontbijt wordt aan je tafeltje gebracht en is lekker en goed gevarieerd. De kamer is recent ingericht en de badkamer heeft een prima inloopdouche. Kortom, we konden ons geen beter logement in Tavira voorstellen, een bijzonder aangenaam stadje trouwens met veel sfeer en geen overdreven drukte. Bedankt voor de gastvrijheid !

Не можем найти ни одного отрицательного момента от проживания. Идеальное расположение в центре. Да, можно проехать мимо отеля, не заметив фасада, но привязка на карте точная, просто нужно учесть, что улочка узкая и фасад не широкий. Номер чудесный со всем необходимым. Есть великолепная терраса со столиками, диванчиками и прекрасным видом, с наличием холодильника для хранения вашей еды и вина и набором посуды. В холле есть бесплатный чай, кофе, шоколад, в любое время вы можете им воспользоваться. Не считаю отсутствие телевизора в номере, а только в холле минусом, так как мы приезжали знакомиться с достопримечательностями города, а не проводить все время в отеле. Жили на первом этаже, вечером устроили импровизированный пикник в тихом дворике с местным вином - дверь выходит прямо в него. Весь фасад засажен цветами. Очень благодарны персоналу за встречу и обслуживание.

Points positifs: très bon accueil, belle maison bien située, malgré un accès très en pente, et donc difficile pour personnes à mobilité réduite. Belle propreté.||Points négatifs: j'ai eu une très petite chambre dans laquelle il n'y avait même pas une chaise pour s'asseoir ou poser ses affaires. Petite salle de bains avec douche à rideau. Pour 65€, c'est cher, eu égard aux superbes chambres d'hôtes trouvées par ailleurs.||Et pour ce prix pas de petit déj, sinon c'est 8,50€ en plus.

Después de varios días viajando por la costa portuguesa, quisimos poner broche de oro a nuestro viaje pasando la última noche en Calcada Guesthouse, ya que tenía muy buena puntuación.||Nos costó muchísimo encontrar el sitio, nadie contestaba al número de teléfono que nos habían dado y, cuando por fin lo encontramos, fue una desilusión. Nos dieron una habitación pequeña, oscura e incómoda, de una austeridad casi monacal, sin televisión.||De la ducha salía muy poca agua y sin presión y por si todo esto fuera poco, el precio de la habitación y dos desayunos era exactamente el mismo que en el fabuloso hotel de cuatro estrellas que acabábamos de dejar en Faro. ||Resumiendo: lo peor del viaje

het guesthouse ligt in een klein straatje achter een klein geveltje. maar wat een verrassing als de deur opengaat. dit is een zeer sfeervol verbouwd en zeer persoonlijk, met oog voor detail ingericht B&B. zeer vriendelijke mensen, goed ontbijt (wat apart betaald dient te worden). mooi en sfeervol dakterras. deze lokatie is wel wat lastig als je slecht er been bent.

Das Calcada Guesthouse wurde in aufwendiger und liebevoller Arbeit komplett saniert. Die Zimmer sowie das ganze Haus sind gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Unser Zimmer hatte eine kleine Terrasse mit hellen Möbeln einem großen gemütlichen Bett und wunderschönen Bad. Auf Wunsch wird von den Besitzern ein reichhaltiges Frühstück auf der Terrasse serviert. Außerdem hat man die Möglichkeit jederzeit gratis Tee oder Kaffee zuzubereiten. Die Besitzer sind überaus bemüht und herzlich. Wir haben uns einfach nur wohl gefühlt und ich denke eine bessere Unterkunft wird man schwer finden. Tavira ist sowieso eine Reise wert und dann sicher wieder das Calcada Guesthouse.

Super Location und super freundlicher Empfang durch den Host. Wir waren zur Hochsaison in Tavira und dieses Guesthouse hatte gerade noch eine Nacht frei. Preislich ist es mit 100 Euro eher viel aber wenn man sich ein sehr schickes modernes Guesthouse leisten will, ist man hier an richtiger Stelle.

Wir waren im Oktober für 4 Nächte in diesem wunderbaren Bed&Breakfast und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Andy ist ein super netter sehr aufmerksamer Gastgeber, der uns viele gute Tipps (leckeres Essen) gegeben hat.||Das ganze Guesthouse ist modern und gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr gepflegt und hat eine schöne Dachterrasse. Die Ausgangslage in der Altstadt ist einfach super. Zug - und Busbahnhof ganz nah, ebenso wie die Fähre zu den Traumstränden der Ilha de Tavira.||Wir haben unsere Zeit in Tavira sehr genossen und empfehlen das Calcada Guesthouse sehr gerne weiter.

Wir waren jetzt im Oktober drei Tage im Guesthouse Calcada und waren begeistert. Freundlich wurden wir von Andy empfangen und unser Zimmer war zwar klein, aber sehr gemütlich und (fast) alles vorhanden. Wir hätten uns gerne noch eine Ablage für den Koffer gewünscht. Der Empfangsbereich war ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer und man würde sich gerne dort aufhalten. Aufgrund des schönen Wetters waren wir unterwegs oder auf der zauberhaften Dachterrasse. Leckeres Frühstück, ebenfalls liebevoll angerichtet. Die Möglichkeit sich einen Tee oder Kaffee zu machen (alles stand dafür bereit) war super. Das Guesthouse ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail stilvoll eingerichtet. Es waren die Kleinigkeiten, die den Aufenthalt so angenehm machten. Außerdem zentral und doch sehr ruhig gelegen. Die perfekte Unterkunft für Menschen, die keinen großen Hotels mögen und individuell unterwegs sind. Andy ist ein wundervoller Gastgeber. Vielen Dank

Wir waren schon zum 3. Mal bei Andy und Tamsin und schätzen ihre unkomplizierte und herzliche Art. Alles ist sehr sauber. Das Haus ist stilsicher eingerichtet und doch schlicht. Wir haben erneut im grünen Zimmer geschlafen, welches im Untergeschoss noch eine kleine Terrasse besitzt. Allerdings war uns das Bett etwas zu eng und die Matratze ist doch ein wenig hart. Andy hat uns jedoch noch eine weichere Auflage organisiert. Das Frühstück, man kann es buchen oder nicht, ist mit Orangenjus, Kaffe oder Tee, Gipfeli, Toast, Käse, Rohschinken, Fruchtsalat, Joghurt und Müsli gut bestückt. In der Nähe befinden sich Cafés, in welchen man sich ab 8.00 auch verpflegen kann. Die Dachterrasse bietet einen Blick über Teile der Stadt. Zum wunderschönen, kilometerlangen, doch vorgelagerten Sandstrand muss man ein Auto haben oder mit dem Schiff fahren. Tavira und Calcada Guesthouse sind einen Besuch wert.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui per due notti in Agosto e lo abbiamo trovato incantevole! Andy e Tamsin sono molto cordiali, le camere sono spaziose e pulite. Nelle vicinanze c'è un comodo parcheggio pubblico ed è possibile raggiungere il centro di Tavira in meno di 5 minuti a piedi. Consigliatissimo!!!

Vi hade bokat två rum i fyra nätter för vår familj. Rummen var jättefina och rena. Fina badrum. Frukosten som serverades på takterassen var fantastiskt god. Vi kan varmt rekommendera detta boende. Det ligger centralt och det var nära till allt. Vi tog badbåten till stranden men besökte även andra stränder på Algarvekusten med bil. Värdparet var mycket trevliga och hjälpsamma. Bra tillgång till WI-FI.

Andy og Tamsin er virkelig to gode mennesker som ønsker å hjelpe deg med alt. Huset er nyoppusset, rommene og badet er utrolig fint, og balkongen er som en drøm! Ypperlig og sunn frokost, en fantastisk start på dagen. Gjestehuset ligger sentralt i Tavira, hvor det er gåavstand til alle serverdigheter som både ferie, sykkelleie, utsiktstårn, kirker og togstasjon. ||||Tusen takk for en flott opplevelse!
