Three weeks from our trip date they informed us they could not provide the accommodation ana a refund was on its way We suspect they released at a higher rate very poor thing to do so be careful of this hotel

Kaldığımıza pişman olduk. Paramızla rezil olduk. Odalar küçük, hijyenik değil. Banyo rutubetli. Tuvaletteki çöp kutusunun kapağı kırık. Yatak çökmüş ve rahatsız. Otel odalarında bulunan ve konfor artıran asgari malzemeler bile yoktu. Saç kurutma, tuvalet takımı, mini buzdolabı, su ısıtıcı, klima kumandası... Klimanın kumandası olmadığını ilettiğimizde ise, resepsiyondaki çalışan tek olduğu için ayrılamadığını, ama istersek (!) resepsiyona gelip boş bir odanın anahtarını alıp odadaki kumandayı alabileceğimizi söyledi. Hem güvenlik açısından hem de müşteriye davranış açısından kusurlu. Binanın roof barındaki müzikler ise geç saate dek yüksek sesle devam ettiği için oda hayli gürültülüydü. Balkonu geniş olmasına rağmen keyif yapıp soluklanmak ne mümkün! Psirri meydanında Yunanistan'dan çıkıp otele gidene kadar bambaşka ülkelerden geçtik. Göç almış bir muhit, otel çevresi güvenli hissettirmedi. Gezimize 1 gün kala rezervasyon yapmak durumundaydık. Monastraki meydanına yakın seçenekler kısıtlıydı. Otelin yorumlarının bazıları sinyal veriyordu. Ama bu kadarını da beklemiyorduk. Keyifsiz, huzursuz 2 geceye, olabilecek en fahiş fiyatı verdik.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a private room. When we left we spotted at least three bedbugs in the room... We told to the person at the reception, who didn't show much interest (and no commercial gesture). Except this major issue, the hostel is well situated, rather clean, the rooftop and the rooftop staff are nice and friendly. Also to note : the rooms are rather poorly soundproofed and you can hear conversations in the corridor.

DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. The location is in a very sketchy neighbourhood, and I felt quite unsafe walking home at 9pm as a woman. Furthermore, the staff are rude and unhelpful. The girl at the front desk was absolutely useless when I asked for a towel. Their policy is that only female dorms get towels, however, all the other guests in my mixed dorm had towels and I was not extended the same courtesy when I requested one. The security guard was abrupt and rude and told me to go away when all I was doing was playing with the hostel cats. There was no shelf in my bed, the light did not work and one of the USBs did not work. Furthermore, the showers we’re disgusting. There were only two on our floor and one of them didn’t lock so there was only really one. One of the worst hostel experiences ever - do not recommend at all.

I stayed here for a weekend in a private room with a shared bathroom. It's on a rougher-looking street, but only a block or two away from a nicer tourist area where I felt safe walking alone. The bedroom was nice, but the bathroom didn't seem to be well-kept. I don't have a ton of experience with hostels, so I wasn't sure what to expect as far as cleanliness. It wasn't terrible, though. The big fault is that the rooftop restaurant is really more of a club. The music is BLARINGLY loud. Without earplugs, I had to stuff tampons in my ears to get any sleep. 😅 When I went to the restaurant to have dinner on my last night around 7pm, I was told there was a cover (even for guests!) and they weren't serving food. So it's not much of a hotel restaurant at all, but just a loud nuisance if you want to rest during your stay. Also on the last night the fire alarm went off twice, and no one told us what was going on. There were five police officers hanging out outside the lobby, but no one seemed bothered to investigate, and no hotel staff were around to let us know if it was safe to go back to bed. Eventually I went back to bed, too tired to wait around, hoping I could safely jump from my 2nd story window if needed.

Ich war schon in vielen Selinas und hatte immer gute Erfahrungen, aber dieses hier entspricht nicht dem Standard. Die Klima funktionierte nicht im Dorm, die Toiletten und Duschen sind kaputt und dreckig und mit einem Männer und Frauenklo pro Stockwerk, also auf 80 Betten, völlig unterdimensioniert. Die Matratzen waren durchgelegen und das Schloss der Zimmertür fiel jedes zweite Mal nicht richtig zu, sodass der Raum nicht verschlossen war. Es ist in diesem Hostel viel kaputt und dreckig, es scheint sich aber keiner drum zu kümmern. Standort ist allerdings gut, die Rooftop Terrasse auch.

Bonjour, Éviter cet endroit... Mauvais emplacement (pas très loin de la place Monastiraki), mais le quartier est a l'abandon, bâtiments cramés autour, quartier très sale.. Chambres petites, pas de rangements, tables, étagères, etc.. Matelas de mauvaise qualité, poussières a l'arrivée... Salle de bains, rien pour poser les affaires.. Petit-déjeuner imposé avec du café filtre, jus d'orange pas top (un tout petit verre)... Et tous les jours la même chose... Et le summum, sur 5 nuits, musique à fond sur la terrasse, donc pas de repos après des longues journées découvertes d'Athènes... Les parties communes sont salles.. C'est une catastrophe cet hôtel, en plus trop chère....il ne doit pas être présenté comme un hôtel, mais plutôt comme auberge de jeunesse (famille à éviter).

We arranged a suite room so that everything would go smoothly, the price was too high, we encountered a sullen face at the entrance on the first day, and this situation continued for all days. Even though we stayed for five days, our room was only cleaned for one day. The breakfast was very inadequate. They only serve a small omelette on a plate. If you want it again, you have to ask for a fee. They sent me a message after the reservation saying that there is a gift for us that they will give wine for we downloaded the selina app, but they never gave it.When we asked, they made excuses like it was late and the message was not visible. The air conditioner was inadequate and it was making noise. The Bluetooth music device in the room could not connect to my phone. When I asked for help, they told me that they could not solve it and brushed it off. If I go again, I would not prefer it and I don't recommend it to anyone

Une chambre simple, pas nettoyée, la salle de bain remplie de moisissures qui pourraient être nettoyées seulement si le service de ménage se donnait la peine de faire le ménage ! La femme de ménage ne passe jamais. Donc pas de nettoyage de chambre pendant 3 jours! Un accueil peu chaleureux.. un quartier qui fait peur à voir (bâtiments sales, personnes qui traînent dehors…) Et le clou du spectacle : une fiesta sur le rooftop jusqu’à 23h jamais mentionnée dans le descriptif de la chambre (supplément bruit dans les couloirs et escaliers jusqu’à minuit)… mais quelle honte de permettre de louer des chambres si chères avec un service si médiocre ! Plus jamais et je conseille à quiconque de ne pas y mettre les pieds !

The only good thing in this hotel is the view on roof, Other than that, everything is less than minimum . For example, the room is very small and lacks the minimum necessities. For example, there is no coffee machine. The refrigerator is very small and cannot accommodate anything. There is no safety box in the room. They also don’t clean the rooms and change the towels daily, even though I’ve requested it from the reception.As for breakfast, it was truly shocking. As a customer, you have two choices: either a plate of eggs with few pieces of tomato and cucumber which is disgusting ,or a plate of yogurt with granola that is more disgusting. As for tranquility I can tell you a lot about it. Crazy and noisy parties on the roof extend until late hours. In short, the worst experience during my trip to Greece was to stay in this hotel, absolutely not worth the price, for me I don’t give it more than 1 1/2 for 5.

Overall: I had a mixed experience at Selina Athens. The location is fantastic, the rooftop is a highlight, and the value for money on food is great. However, there are some areas for improvement, particularly with cleanliness and communication. Pros: Amazing Rooftop: The view from the rooftop is unbeatable, directly overlooking Athens. The food was delicious and very affordable. Comfortable Room: My room (though without a private bathroom) was comfortable with air conditioning and a balcony. It was great to have access to snacks and drinks at reception for late-night cravings. Convenient Location: The hostel is close to cool restaurants, with an easy walk-in from Monastiraki. There are shops nearby for essentials, and even a fantastic deal across the street (€3.5 for a large fresh orange juice and a double cheese sandwich!). Cons: Noise: As expected from a hostel, there can be a lot of noise. The rooftop has parties most nights, so be prepared if you're a light sleeper. Limited Breakfast Options: While the rooftop has great food, there's no breakfast option downstairs despite its potential. Inconsistent Cleaning: There was no cleaning service until the night before I left, and even then, it was just a quick floor sweep without changing bedsheets or towels. Unfriendly Security Guard: The night security guard could be friendlier, particularly considering his role involves interacting with guests. His demeanor wasn't welcoming when I was simply looking at a cat. Shared Bathroom Issues: The shared bathrooms were consistently dirty and wet, with no cleaning supplies available for guests to tidy up. Additionally, it seemed there weren't enough staff to clean them regularly. Neighborhood Vibe: While the location is convenient, being in the old town means it's surrounded by abandoned buildings. However, I personally didn't experience any safety concerns. Suggestions: Consider offering breakfast downstairs, especially given the rooftop's popularity. Increase cleaning frequency, especially in shared bathrooms. Provide cleaning supplies for guests if necessary. Train security staff on guest interaction and customer service. I hope this feedback is helpful. Despite the cons, the location and rooftop made for a memorable stay.

Booked this place because of great experiences at selinas in other countries but this place was awful. The sheets they gave us were stained with what appeared to be vomit. They didnt clean our room a single time in the week we stayed. The rooftop restaurant is a separate company so they didn't care to serve us at all. It is loud and everyone is very rude at the restaurant and front desk.

Rooms are very spacious, service was good, and there's a great rooftop bar that has amazing views of the Acropolis. They do a great breakfast as well. The only issue with a great rooftop bar and it being a mixture of private rooms and hostel style accommodation is that there is a DJ every night so if you're not a party person and wanting a quiet night's sleep, you might struggle! Our taxi driver warned us that it was an area 'full of junkies' and we literally saw 2 guys shooting up like 2 doors down so it's in a bit of a rough area.

Odd place. The rooms were truly excellent but no one cleans them when you are still staying over. The rooftop bar is a party scene and VERY loud but at least it stops by midnight. The breakfast is a waste. You only get three fixed choices and each day even the same one differed. Not worth the price. I love Greek breakfasts when they are buffet style. The service …. Seemed to be run by disinterested 20 somethings. But the rooms were so nice that I would go back.

Context - I've stayed at 4 separate Salina properties in central and south America in the past - this property does not meet those standards. Rude staff, dirty / run down facilities (i.e. flakey AC), and bad vibes in general Positives: 1. Great location- easily able to walk to a lot of great places / experiences Neutrals: 1. active construction going on next door - nothing hostel can control 2. Not a conducive environment to meet people - staff very short and face level Negative: 1. Dirty bathrooms/ not clean facilities (you'll notice a grave yard of dead mosquitos/ bugs on walls and an overall moist / dirty smell throughout the non lobby 2. Power outages which cut the AC for hours at a time 3. Rude staff who do bare minimum (i.e. we asked front desk receptionist for a restaurant recommendation - she was texting via WhatsApp on the computer and just pointed down a random street and said walk over there) and went back to texting, no names, no smile, no real acknowledgement 4. The elevators are horribly slow and frequently not available 5. the upstairs bar - if this is an attraction for you to book this location - know it is overrun with rude locals. We were unable to use the elevator or get to the stairs in the ground floor lobby to go to your room anytime between 6 PM and 1 AM as the locals will come to use the upstairs bar and will not allow you to pass (we had to on multiple occasions just physically push our way through then walk up the 5 flights of stairs). Also as mentioned overrun folks from upstairs club will also block up restrooms on your floor if you are near the top for long periods of time. I'm all for a good party - but the vibes are not inclusive and or hospitable at all as a traveler here.

I’ve stained with my mom’s at Selina and our room facilities and views from the rooftop were nice. The location is a bit creepy at night but is close to the main attractions. The breakfast is not worth the price, it was not tasting. The staff from the reception really nice and helpful, but the staff from the rooftop was very “unhelpful”, and honestly, a bit rude.

Desafortunadamente el mantenimiento no es muy bueno. el aire acondicionado de mi habitación estuvo roto y nunca lo arreglaron y el calor se volvió bastante sofocante. Los baños comunes tienen muy mala ventilación y también se vuelve sofocante entrar, las cocinas tenían el lavabo tapado y nunca se arregló. si te toca el último piso como a mí tienes un roto arriba que tiene música fuerte hasta la 1:00 de la mañana y se hace difícil dormir. Tampoco es el mejor lugar para conocer gente y hacer sociales, ya que las áreas comunes no son muy utilizadas. en general no se siente como un hostel, sino más bien como un edificio residencial con mantenimiento de áreas comunes. En general estuve siete días y muchas cosas con el tiempo hicieron que la experiencia no fuera mejor. Pero la ubicación es muy buena y el personal es amable.

Attention, il ne s'agit pas d'un hôtel mais d'une auberge de jeunesse. Les chambres sont minimalistes et très peu équipées. Magnifique Roof top avec musique électro très forte tous les soirs. Si vous espérez dormir : fuyez! La douche était vraiment sale et pleine de moisissures. Pas de service de chambre qui passe, vous retrouverez comme vous l'avez laissé le matin Par contre, c'est très bien situé par rapport au centre touristique. Beaucoup de bâtiments abandonnés autour

Une catastrophe,ce n´est pas un hôtel car il n´y a aucun service de chambre!!!Pas de ménage,ni changement de linge de toilette, ni même ,vidage de poubelles. Pendant 4 jrs de séjour. had the worst stay here even I booked the private room, we could not sleep for 3/5 nights, you must imagine we are so exhausted and without sleep for 3 nights in the row with constant disturbances of music, noise from construction site across (look at gg street map before booking) and noise from the broken airco box in the balcony + noise from people on the same floor partying till 3am. music overruling from the 9th floor till 11:30, guests from dorm room running around screaming at 3am and the security or reception doesn’t do anything. we called them with noise complaints for 2 nights and we gave up. we came to the people and nock their door instead but they are very aggressive and drunk. it is a dangerous situation and the hotel staff didn’t do anything to help. the room is simple not equipped with light so it stays pretty dark, bathroom has weak shower, the isolation of the room is bad that you hear people talking in the hallway and from their room. the balcony of 602 has the airco equipment from other rooms, so it gets so noisy with the motor running during the night. you could not sleep well as it is so loud. never come back. i would recommend people who are student and in their early 20 to stay and party. NOT TO recommend people in late 20 wanting to relax and have a good sleep in the end of the day. although the cats are cute and being taken care of by hotel staff, they are inside and chilling on couch too, very kind of the hotel. i hope they can do the same to their guests

Le petit-déjeuner a l'assiette ne vend pas du rêve hotel tres bruyant, personnel du rooftop pas sympathique... la vue est belle mais il y a de nombreux rooftop dans le centre d'Athènes qui sont nettement mieux. Repas cher et douches communes très salés. A éviter.

J'ai bien aimé la chambre et l'emplacement. Le problème: LE BRUIT. La terrasse sur le toit est superbe, mais se transforme en discothèque le soir. Pratique pour faire le party, très déplaisant pour dormir. J'ai eu droit à un spectacle électro trois nuits sur quatre sans oublier les dj sets à l'heure du brunch. L'hôtel devrait être plus transparent au sujet des activités sur la terrasse.

Hostel has a lot of potential with really good amenities. Sadly it’s obvious the hostel has poor management with little maintenance which is why I must give it a bad review. The place needs a general face lift, a lot of the paint and flooring is very old and rundown. Several toilets don’t have locks, one was even missing a seat. Elevator is extremely slow and congested, most times I just walked up and down from the 8th floor. I would not recommend staying on a weekend unless you like to sleep where you party. The rooftop parties they host are very loud and brings in a lot of strangers to the hostel with 0 regard for the guests. I was unlucky enough to be in a dorm room on the 8th floor. Not only was the lift impossible to get access to, but many party goers were using our floor’s share bathroom. Hard to brush your teeth when people are doing coke in the bathroom. All the doors are also very heavy and slam loudly every time they close. I recommend bringing ear plugs. Finally as others have mentioned, check in usually runs late as it seems they are understaffed

Stayed one night and cancelled the following ones. Nice look & feel in the rooms but that’s about it. The rooftop parties are extremely loud (rooftop is floor 9, we were on floor 4 and still felt every beat through the mattress), go on way too long (6am in our case) and the hostel doesn’t do anything about it.

We had the private room with own bathroom, so it's a different experience than most I am sure. But the room and bathroom was great. No tv but not needed as there's much to see around town. AC worked well and shower had great water pressure with hot and cold option. Cons: not the best area but it's literally only a few blocks to the good parts, the shower head needs to be held to use if anyone is picky about that, and the kitchen stoves barely work but I just ate out most the time anyways. Pros: affordable, has blackout curtains, there's a movie room to hang in, rooms are clean, it was quiet too.

Als je in een discotheek wilt slapen, kom je best naar hier. Luide muziek/feestje op het dakterras tot 6u ‘s morgens (terwijl het personeel aan het onthaal zei dat het maar tot 11u zou duren). Ook in de gangen was er enorm veel lawaai (toeslaande deuren). Absolute afrader deze Selina (we hebben nochtans meerdere goede ervaringen gehad met Selina in het verleden).

- Good location - Low price (but not worth it) - Terrible place to find some rest. Music from rooftop bar all over the building (until 4 am in this case). Dorm stayers need to use a bathroom on the general corridor. So they wake you up everytime they use it. - Worn out infrastructure. Cheaply finished during construction. Enjoy my picture of the shower. Avoid it

Great location, looks edgy but it is not unsafe. We got a 4-bed room w a private bathroom. Was not cleaned once during the 4 nights we stay there. Rooftop bar could be noisy, but the views are great. And the management at the bar is amazing, also the bartenders! Don’t pay for breakfast, not worth it.

Firstly it's in a very bad neigbourhood, even though it's close to the main attractions of Athens I still wouldn't recommend it. It is right next to some construction were they start banging things at 6 in the morning. There is a rooftop bar on the 9th floor, which has an amazing view but that's the only good thing I can say about it. They have parties every night with very loud music which was bothering us even on the 2nd floor!!! Also the staff at the bar is unprofessional and they don't even know what they are supposed to give you for the breakfast you paid for. The staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful, but other then that the whole hotel is awful. It's dirty the rooms and the shared areas as well. The lift takes hours to get to your level. It's way too expensive for what you get in return.

Die Lage und die Aussicht sind gut, - ABER die Lautstärke in diesem Hostel ist vollkommen unangemessen. Untertags läuft auf dem Rooftop durchgehend schreckliche laute Musik, die man in einem Umkreis von 2 Straßen überall laut hört. Dementsprechend verwundert es nicht, dass man sich im Zimmer überhaupt gar nicht ausruhen kann, selbst wenn die Fenster zu sind. Erst um 23 Uhr machen sie die Musik aus. - Klimaanlage hat in den Zimmern nicht funktioniert und das Problem wurde auch auf mehrmaliges Hinweisen seitens der Rezeption nicht behoben. - die Bäder sind wirklich schmutzig. Scheint, als ob sie bei der Reinigung ausgelassen werden. - Es gibt für einen ganzen Stock mit rund 80 Betten nur ein einziges Männerbad. - die Zuteilung zu den Betten wird nicht eingehalten und auch nicht kontrolliert. Bei meiner Ankunft war mein Bett besetzt. Dann musste ich wieder zur Rezeption runter und mir ein neues zuteilen lassen. 2 Tage später hieß es, ich sei im falschen Bett. Dann musste ich das Bett wieder wechseln. Bezweifle, dass ich nochmal hierher kommen werde.

I love the Selina company but this time it was awful. It's located in a spooky location, a lot of immigrants, all the shops around are closed and has a lot of grafity ( and not the pretty kind). The ac didn't work and they said they can't help us. We couldn't sleep with open windows because they had very loud rooftop parties all the weekend. One day we arrived and saw a huge line to the hotel and the lifts because of their parties so we needed to fight with the locals that go to the party to use the lift to get to our room. The restaurant on the roof wasn't open all day like they write in their internet page. They say that you have a welcoming drink but no one tells you that you can get it only between 6-7 p.m. The room was very dark!! So it wasn't nice to be there at the evening. I needed to argue with the staff to move us to another room, they gave us a bigger room but it was even closer to the roof so it wasn't a good experience for us.

This is one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. We checked into a 8-bed dorm at 4pm and proceeded to have a nap as were jet lagged. An hour later I am woken up by THUMPING music from the rooftop bar. Our room was on level 1 and the bar is level 9, that’s how loud it was. Even with earplugs I could feel the bass vibrating in my chest. I was told the music ends at 11pm. It was a Sunday. The receptionist was very kind and agreed to let us checkout and get a refund, but the manager refused to give us a cash refund and instead we have to wait “3 business days” for the money to get back in our account. That was money needed to book somewhere else. The only good thing I can say is that the receptionist Nina was so kind and sympathetic and really tried to help us. We found another hostel in a much nicer area that was actually cheaper. But when we got there I found a bug bite on my stomach … I slept in the Selina dorm bed for 2 hours and then ended up with this bite … you can draw your own conclusions. Overall would absolutely not recommend this hostel if you actually want to sleep. Scroll down and you will see lots of reviews saying a similar thing.

We had high hopes as Selina sets the bar high for their locations, but we were let a bit down unfortunately 😢 - private room was never cleaned in 6 nights - shared toilet was cleaned only after 3 days, after i notified the reception multiple times - the rooftop, which is heavily promoted and seemed the best part of the hostel, it’s actually a separate business, ran as a standalone bar/restaurant, and it’s very expensive. This is not very encouraging to travellers that then do not really have a place to hang out and share a beer together, as the other common areas are not that lively neither anything is organised there. Despite all of this, the staff is extremely kind and nice and we enjoyed tons being in Athens, it’s also a convenient location for all places.

We love the hotel because they have a wonderfull place. It´s perfect if you go to visit Greece some days. They have a common kitchen and cinema so you can share space with other people if you want. The only drawback is that in the room the heating was too high,and it´s a bit uncomfortable. This hotel are very near to center of Athens, near to Monastiraki station, so that was perfect.

The room had no light for 7 nights that I was there. They were "working on it". The room was was in a very poor condition, so was the shower. The kitchen does not have enough cutlery, no coffee mugs, and is always very dirty, as housekeeping don't do their job. Very rude and unpleasant staff, maybe the worst I ever met. On top of that you cannot enter the kitchen for 3 hours at a time (!!) when they are having cooking classes there, So - be hungry, I guess... Nothing works in this hostel, broken toilets, broken sinks, broken showers, and they have all the excuses in the world, along side being rude and disrespectful. Stay away!

I will start and say i stayed in 15 selinas ..for 40 times maybe and i stayed in many many Hostels in my life . This place is a premium gem not very far from the heart of Athens and a lot of nightlife, authentic tavernas all around the hostel, walking distance from all the attractions. It is a hostel that gives a feeling of a hotel so people are sometimes confused. It's not Hilton or Marriott but for me it's much preferred. The true spirit of the hostel are the workers of the reception. Efethmia , Katharina , mitch , and more!!!! Under the professional team leading of yota the rock and roller !!!! Hehehe . I genuinely appreciate these girls one by one . Happy and welcoming towards any guest in any hour , even if their not having the best day you will never see them sour and rude . Professional sympatic receptionists that will help and clarify any question that you may have. I'm in a stressful situation sometimes here dough to reality that happens and they show me empathy and warmth . Welcoming security detail on sight to make you feel safe ! Reception always has drinks and snacks for purchase in good taste and reasonable prices. On the roof there's a bar which i spend many of my nights at. Very fun welcoming atmosphere. Eni the manager is bringing all the good out of the place and the staff are awesome. So I stayed in selina for three nights, and everything regarding the hostel services was fine except from one fact. I had 3 different discussions with the security guys that there was there during the tree nights we spent there and the outcome of these discussions was rather disappointing. They were both bold and they were pretty clearly ideologically against every immigrant that reached our country which was really disturbing. I tried to open a dialogue with them but they responded with highly racist arguments that were accusing every minority race that was living at greece at the time for all the possible reasons. I would expect selina to interview and profile each new member excessively and make sure they comply with the acceptance culture and that they wanna embrace the culture they’re visiting properly. Great rooftop! This was a highlight of our visit to Athens. The views are spectacular. The night dj and sunset vibes are fun (and not too loud, especially if your room is on the lower floors. Poorly managed and overpriced.. No consistency in business processes (I'm talking about the rooftop bar) They need to either pay their staff a fair wage, include tips in the bill, or put a tipping Jar on the rooftop bar OR, like in the U.S., the credit card terminal will have a percentage tipping option and the customer can select the percentage every time! Allowing someone who works at the bar to enter an amount you tell them into the card terminal..also very strange! After many seperate purchases over different days at the rooftop bar..someone asks for a tip on the card and opens up a different option for it on the credit card terminal.. also, strange! There needs to be consistency! Have a tip Jar! So many different ways of doing tips in different European countries and different in different types of resturants, its crazy! I'm NOT Psychic... What do the British do here!??? They don't tip at all in their culture!!! No more Selina ever again! I know its overpriced, but thought it would be a good place to meet people; but they are mostly hipsters anyway! Tipping Solutions Summary 1) Include a Service Charge in the Bill like many other countries in Europe! 2) Get a Tip JAR for the Bar to set the expectations for tipping. 3) Set the credit card terminal to percentage tip sugguestions, then hand the card reader to customer to select an option to select a TIP. 4) Be consistent! Doing many transactions over days making me feel the tip is included when its clearly not. 5) Don't have staff enter the tip manually upon request! No one does that! Is that tip even going to the bartender or is it going somewhere else? 6) Maybe Pay your workers a Fair Wage! its $7 Euros for a large Estrella Galicia on tap! These young bartenders need guidance and leadership. Put processes in place so this never happens again!!! By the Way, No one on vacation from many different tipping cultures want to think about TIPing when they are having fun.. Make expecatations CLEAR on Tipping!! Service Charge makes it easy!

I stayed at this hostel for 5 nights. The whole hostel is extremely noisy. The rooftop bar is very loud, the music can be heard in the whole building until 1 o'clock in the morning. Sleep is out of the question here. One night you had to pay 6 euros even as a hotel guest. So you are exposed to the noise, but you have to pay for it. Strange concept! The lady was not interested at all, answered chewing gum cheekily. Mold in the bathroom and broken tiles complete the picture. The rooms are cleaned only every 2 days. Of the 2 elevators only one works, it takes a very long time to get to the room. Never again!

Das Hostel ist wirklich sehr gut gelegen. Wir haben in 4 Tagen so ziemlich jede Sehenswürdigkeit mit dem Fußbus erreicht. Direkt neben dem Hostel ist ein Markt für frische Lebensmittel und die Gegend ist geprägt durch Restaurants und Bars. Die Zimmer waren sehr reinlich. Teils mit einer unfassbaren Aussicht auf die Akropolis vom Balkon aus. Das Bett schien frisch bezogen und ein Badetuch war bereitgestellt. Im großzügigen 6-Bett-Zimmer selbst fehlten Sitzmöglichkeiten. Die Toiletten/ Badezimmer waren manchmal verdreckt, was aber zumeist an den Bewohnern selbst lag. Das Hostel wirkte dem jedoch täglich entgegen. Das Hostel hatte eine Rooftopbar. Mega Sicht. Bisschen teuer. Frühstück waren zwei Scheiben Brot, Rührei, Dips und Obst und Gemüse.

Le roof top est magnifique, néanmoins il y a souvent un dj le soir , musique très très très forte jusqu’à très tard !!! Enfin l emplacement pour les visites est cool proche de psiri et monastiraki. Néanmoins, le quartier où est situé l’hôtel ( quartier du marché) est laissé à l’abandon ! Il est sale, les bâtiments sont tous à l’abandon . Bref je recommande pour des jeunes très jeunes fetards mais pas pour des gens qui veulent se reposer en vacances .

O quarto que estive era privado e excelente, acho que um dos mais confortáveis que fiquei em toda a grecia. Travesseiro maravilhoso, cobertas Macias, bom colchão, vidro anti ruído excelente, chuveiro ótimo. O rooftop tem uma vista maravilhosa! A comida também era boa, único problema é que quase tudo tinha cominho ou coentro, como não gosto dos dois pra mim isso foi um ponto contra, mas quem gosta tudo é realmente gostoso. Como outras pessoas citaram, a localização dele é meio estranha. É um bairro meio abandonado e em volta é meio vazio e escuro a noite. Vc só vê os turistas mesmo na rua, mas andando umas 2 ou 3 quadras já tem uns locais com vários bares e.movimentos. É meio que uma zona abandonada que vem sendo ocupada aos poucos por diversos hotéis e rooftops pelo o que entendi. Não pareceu necessariamente perigosa, mas como fiquei lá no fim da viagem e no início já havia estado em Atenas porém ao lado do Museu da Acropole senti muito a questão da localização. Se você se preocupa com essa questão não recomendo, agora se para você isso não é um problema, como para muita gente jovem que estava hospedada ali não era, o hotel em si é ótimo e realmente, a vista da Acropole é sensacional, embora o projeto arquitetônico deles tenha sido um pouco ruim pq tem um espaço de churrasqueira que tapa um pouco a visão de quem senta perto do bar, além das janelas de vidro que se encontram justamente na vista da Acropole. Tem um lado do rooftop totalmente livre do outro lado que é justamente o oposto da Acropole.

Dieses Hotel ist grundsätzlich in einem Top Zustand, wenn man allerdings sein extrem sauberes Zimmer verlässt und einen Schritt vor die Tür setzt, kann man schlagartig nicht mehr unterscheiden ob man sich nun in Griechenland oder doch in Pakistan befindet. Und das liegt unter anderem auch daran dass die Amtssprache in diesem Viertel eine Mischung aus Indisch und Pakistani ist. Griechisch sucht man hier vergeblich. Leider bleiben sie auch nicht von irgendwelchen trommelnden Afghanischen Kinder verschont die ihnen ihre Interpretation des Südmongolischen Regentanzes bei jeder Gelegenheit präsentieren, damit sie so genervt sind, dass man ihnen sämtliche Wertsachen entwenden kann. Aber das Hotel ist ansonsten recht gut, allerdings ist das Frühstück nicht nur etwas mau sondern das reinste Chaos, stellen sie sich drauf ein dass sie 45min warten müssen um am Ende ein halb gares Rührei und zwei Scheiben verbranntes Luftbrot aufgetischt zu bekommen, das ist fast so wenig nahrhaft wie ein Amazon Karton.

Pretty good, only downside was the shower head leaking through the tap so the pressure wasn’t the best, but I’m sure they would’ve sorted it if we stayed for longer. Reception staff were pretty helpful when I needed to print tickets for the ferry, even when it was almost midnight so that was plus. The rooftop bar was great, almost worth a 5 star rating just on that basis. If you’re in Athens for a decent stint would definitely recommend

החדר -מזרון לא אחיד בקושי. למרות שביקשתי פעמיים לא הוחלף ולא עודכנתי אין מדף או מגרה לבגדים רק קולבים. ארוחת בוקר אחידה צלחת זהה בכל יום. אין אפשרות לקבל חלב לקפה . המעלית -זה היה ממש ספורט. המעלית רוב הזמן תפוסה זמן המתנה ארוך. המיקום-הסביבה לא נראתה טוב אבל קרוב לכל מקום וברגל. לטיולי יום וערב. חדר עבודה פתוח בתשלום נוסף מ 08.30

Had two really great stays here until an experience at the rooftop bar left a really bad taste in my mouth. I had been given the drink ticket upon arrival and incorrectly thought you could get the drink after 7pm. (it is actually 6-7pm) at 7:05pm I got in que at the bar to get a drink. The girl informed me I had just missed the time. I explained I misunderstood and asked if there was anyway I could get it, as it was only five past 7. The girl cut me off and said no. I stood there a few moments contemplating if I would purchase one, she again said very firmly “no” without even asking if I was still getting a drink. Made my choice for me to go find a drink else where for sure. For the amount I spent on two rooms and for what you charge for dorms a little bit of leniency and customer service would have been nice. I understand it is ultimately my fault and misunderstanding but it is hard to remember such a specific rule not written on the ticket and only said verbally as I check in after 30 hours of travel. I could even see if I was hours past, but five minutes… last day so never got to use the ticket.

El trato en recepción y la habitación estuvieron bien. Sin embargo el desayuno no merece la pena y pensamos que deberían repensar cambiarlo, además nos atendieron mal y lento (camarero borde). Lo teníamos contratado para 4 días y fuimos el primero solamente después de la mala experiencia. Por otro lado la música en la terraza no deberían de ponerla tan alta los fines de semana teniendo en cuenta que la gente va allí a descansar :(

Rooms okay, way too much noise from the rooftop bar. Average breakfast, we stayed 3 days and got the same exact plate 3 days in a row, there were no other options available when asking. The least they can do is offer 2 or 3 choices. Only allowed to have coffee or juice, if you want both you have to pay extra even if you booked breakfast. We would advice to just eat breakfast in the neighbourhood.

Room: We stayed in a private double room. The rooms look good at first, like in the pictures, but then we noticed that the door handle was broken, there was scotch tape around the lamp and the room smelled. We opened the window but nothing changed. The room was dirty when we arrived. We asked to have it cleaned but it was still dirty afterwards (my white socks turned grey after walking 30 steps around the room). 2 stars because the room is extremely noisy and the curtains don't block the light properly, so it's very hard to sleep. Location: Walking distance from all the main attractions but not in a good area of the city. It's pretty scary to walk around the hotel. Just walk on the Athinas street and avoid the other narrows streets when going to the center. Rooftop bar: Nice wiew of the acropolis but you can also see all the run-down area around the hotel. You can find better bars with nice views at the same/lower price

This is my second stay at a Selina Brand. Everything was on point. I gave 4 stars because of Two drawbacks - one the building works in the opposite building. They start at 8am and they woke me up, I know this is out of the control of Selina. And the second was the breakfast that I prepaid for each day. The scrambled egg looked like porridge oats but yellow. It wasn't appealing and not nice to eat. The staff on reception were very helpful. I stayed in a private room and my room was cleaned regularly and they gave clean towels. What I did like there was a mixture of both young and more mature travellers from different cultures. There is an awesome family run Mezze restaurant opposite which only during the day. Highly recommend to try. And there is another good restaurant also family run on the next street. There is a lot of Graffiti and Street Art in the area. Don't be put off as the area is very safe. In fact there is a lot of Graffiti across Athens. Go on a Street Art Tour and you will be educated on the history of street art and why it is done.

The Selina in Athens tried to scam me. I had heard good things about this hostel and so was looking forward to it, but unfortunately they charged me twice on my credit card - one charge for a stay at a Selina in London, England - when I paid for my stay in Athens. I ended up being charged $350 to stay in a dorm-style bedroom for two nights. Thankfully, my bank gives me credit card alerts, so I brought up this issue with the front desk right away. They were unable to help me and acted like they had no idea what happened. Be careful about booking with this place! Look elsewhere first.

All in all, it's a good deal and I would recommend it, as the price is very reasonable with a very good value in return. The location is not very nice, but it's only a couple of blocks away from the downtown. Breakfast on the rooftop is very nice with a great view on the Acropolis.

Super emplacement et très bel hôtel mais quelques bémols: petit déjeuner à l’assiette imposé, aucun choix et tout les jours la même chose donc au bout de quelques jours on n’en pouvait plus. Pour les boissons on doit choisir entre du café filtre, du thé ou du jus d’orange et si on veut par exemple un thé et un jus d’orange alors c’est en supplément.. Autre déconvenue avec le ménage des chambres: notre chambre n’a pas été nettoyée en 3 jours et quand on a été se plaindre a la réception on nous a dit que c’était notre faute car il fallait expressément demander le matin pour que la chambre soit nettoyée…alors que nous avions mis la pancarte à cet effet sur la porte de la chambre, donc pas très Logique..et enfin certains serveurs du rooftop ne sont vraiment pas Aimables. Malgré cela, très belle vue du rooftop et chambre spacieuse !

Loud music until 2-3am makes it hard to sleep for those who don't stay up late drinking. The rooftop bar and grill service is the worst I've ever experienced. Takes 15-20 mins for a drink and an hour or longer to get food. It took over 3 hours past the 3pm check in to get into my room. Others in my group had issues too. No toilet paper in the room, had to ask for it. They never cleaned or took the trash out. The neighborhood is within walking distance of some very nice places to eat and very close to the Monstastiraki square. However, right near the hotel is quite dirty and dark. It doesn't feel safe at night.

Das Hostel machte einen sehr coolen Eindruck. Positiv aufgefallen ist: - sehr große und gut ausgestattete Gemeinschaftsküche gab, die man kostenlos benutzen durfte - Rooftop Bar mit Live-DJ und Blick auf die Akropolis (aber teuer) - gute Lage Leider sind auch einige negative Sachen aufgefallen, die unseren Aufenthalt vermiest haben: - es gab in einer Nacht 4 mal(!!!) einen falschen Feueralarm - auf dem Balkon, den wir extra dazugebucht hatten, stand der Motor für die Klimaanlage - dieser Motor war extrem laut und gerade in der Nacht mega nervig - durch den Motor war der Balkon effektiv 25% kleiner - der "Ausblick auf die Akropolis" ist eine Lüge. Man schaut auf die Wand des benachbarten Hauses. Selina hat coole Hostels und ich werde auf jeden Fall noch weitere besuchen. Das in Athen kann ich allerdings nicht empfehlen.

Generally not a terrible place for the price, our room was comfortable however it is very dark with little to no light. They need brighter bulbs, we had to turn the bathroom light on in addition to the other lamps in order to see. The bed was comfy and staff friendly, however by far the biggest issue is the noise from the rooftop bar. We stayed during the week and were on the 4th floor, the music is extremely loud and may as well be playing in your room. Would not recommend for those wanting a good night sleep/long stay.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Our private room was a good size with a balcony. The balcony view was overlooking a construction site which made for a loud stay but we didn’t mind this too much given it was a hostel. The rooftop balcony is great with 270 degree views of Athens and a great view of the Parthenon. They also gave us a welcome drink up there which was delicious. The reason my review is 3 stars is that there were bed bugs in our room. Everything else was good for the price!

The worst selina I've been in. The location is close to main places but in a very sketchy neighbourhood . The rooftop bar having loud music everynight until 1.30am, you can feel the bass as if u were in the party Especially in the 8th floor rooms.. Rooms are not cleaned well at all I saw the cleaning team just use a dirty old mop with a little water and that's it. The communal bathrooms flooded with water on the floor no ventilation and dirty toilets. I recommend to search for a different place if you can for a nicer stay

當初訂房就是被頂樓Bar可直視雅典衛城的景色吸引，還有360度的雅典市景，超級棒，果然沒有令人失望! 入住的是雙人雅房，很喜歡有陽台的房間，陽台還擺了桌椅，很chill!房間內有重新粉刷，配色很有活力，乾淨舒適! 櫃台人員很親切友善<3 幫我們解惑了開冷暖氣時遙控器要設定在特別頻道才能啟動。 這間Hostel什麼都好，就是地點有點偏，四周都是荒廢公寓乍看之下有點可怕，夜晚可以聽到不知哪裡傳來的夜店聲，不過窗戶關上隔音還OK，另外就是公用衛浴乾淨度有待加強! 整體而言行價比高，值得推薦💙💙

Poorest possible experience This place has a bad location (Indian/arab quarter with a lot of dirty side streets). Unfortunately dirty conditions are also inside the case. In communal bathrooms I missed toilet paper, as well as I found not hygienic conditions. In my microappartment I got biten by bed bugs and reported this to the reception staff, as I left this place earlier as planned. The reception staff told me that they are very sorry about the bed bug problem and will refund my stay 100%. After I checked out, they told me via WhatsApp, that they changed their mind and will not refund anything. This is how customer service should not look like. So from my personal experience (and experience and in the backpacking industry) I can not recommend this place due to cleanliness, location and above all a not reliable customer service.

Cute funky hotel located at Psiri neighbourhood. Pros: - the location (cannot beat how close it is to the centre, tons of restaurants and bars to choose from) - the rooftop (great view of the Acropolis) - the room we stayed at had a balcony with direct sun exposure (comfy bed) Cons: - the breakfast (not worth it. It’s the same thing everyday. We ended up eating out most mornings) - the bathroom in our room (water gets everywhere! No space to put your toiletries and they gave us kitchen tissue as toilet tissue)… - & they don’t clean your rooms at all. They only came in once during our 5 day stay to change the floor mat in the bathroom - you can hear everything. Walls are quite thin. If you are looking for somewhere affordable to stay that is close to the main town, this is a great hostel to stay at!

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! It is NOT SAFE because a thief or probably inside job entered my room with an invalid room card, broke my padlock and stolen all my devices. There is a very very serious issue here with their room lock. Since Selina is not responsible for any loss inside their hostel or room, then why they still put a lock on the rooms??? The locks are for displaying purposes only!!! Be aware!!! So many other things bad about Selina!! You will regret for life if you stay there. It is still a nightmare to me!!

I spent with my husband an amazing time at Selina Hotel. We stayed there for a week. The room was very clean and comfortable and it had an amazing view from the balcony. The people were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant was superb, romantic and had spectacular views of the night-lit Acropolis. It is situated in the heart of Athens, 5 mins walk from the old Agora, the Flea Market, the traditional pedestrian streets and the cozy restaurants with the amazing food. I would highly recommend it.

Veldig fint hotell! Ryddig og rent og hyggelige ansatte. En del manglende lys her og der men det blir ordnet bare man spør. Ellers kunne jeg ønsket meg skap plass til bagasje. Upraktisk å reise med koffert, mer egnet til backpacking. Bodde her i en uke på 6 persons rom. Veldig hyggelige mennesker som bodde på rommet, de fleste overnattet 1 til 2 netter. Veldig grei frokost, enkel. Veldig nært alt du trenger, mye god mat i umiddelbar nærhet. Men hostellet ligger plassert slik at det er skummle gater i alle rettninger. Mange narkomane og hjemløse.

I didn't expect much from a hostel but was still disappointed. Our dorm didn't have blind for privacy for the first night, the room wasn't cleaned during the day and the beds themselves had the lockers right on top of them making then pretty uncomfortable as you keep bumping into them. Towels for the shower were not included and cost extra which surprised me. The rooftop was also undergoing construction so it wasn't available. Other than that the location is very good and a walking distance from many nice places including the acropolis. The staff were friendly.

I have been very happy with my stay at Selina. Few days before my trip, I had an issue with the hostel and the staff promptly and nicely helped me going above and beyond. They have a nice and small library to relax with plenty of books in English and a small cinema room with a big screen to watch Netflix. My room also had a view on the Parthenon and this honestly made my whole vacation. There s constructions going on around (from what I could see so far they are uncovering old Greek remains so it was quite cool to watch it from my balcony) and a bar/night club quite close but to be honest if you are planning to spend the whole time visiting Athens you ‘ll be out by the time they start the works and knocked out at night despite the music 😅 The area is a bit rough but very soon you will realise how close it is to everything! The staff is great and can give you great recommendations on places to eat/drink. I travelled solo and felt safe enough in that area. Hope to come back next year!

This hostel is the best i used before in Europe. We used private double room with private bathroom. Super clean and quiet. This location looks little scatch but we didnt mind because it is better than the street where is all the bars and cafes for night life in athens. This location is close to go out for main attractions in athens and nearby gloceries so we can buy and cook in this kitchen. Kitchen very nice. I would use this hostel again if i visit athens again.

The breakfast is dissapointing. The one on the picture is just without eggs cause I don't eat them. In the room everything is noisy doors handle, curtain with metal rings when you close, crunchy blanket. You will awake everyone if you had a late flight. It seems everything they do is for short term residents. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but I was here in their slow season and the building felt very empty and devoid of life. Catering to the short term crowd leaves businesses like this more susceptible to low occupancy rates during the low season. This brings more risk if customer satisfaction is important because people like me might come in the low season and have a bad experience if they expect people and socialization like I did. I came to experience Selina, not Athens. This Selina just happened to be in Athens. However, my experience was probably bad more due to management's lack of communication. I expected to socialize with people, meet people, and get the Selina experience. Instead, I was told two days prior to my trip that their rooftop area was closed. Half of their pictures on social media are of just the rooftop so it's clearly important. Upon arrival, I quickly realized that was the heart of this specific location. My week long stay was booked months ahead of time so staff knew we were coming and could have told us ahead of time so that we could come at another time when the rooftop would be open, but they didn't. I appreciate their attempts to remedy their lack of communication after we arrived but what I came here for was simply not available. On top of that, our neighbors would blast music long after quiet hours and they wouldn't listen to turn it down after several people told them. Again, staff did an exceptional job to attempt to remedy it but it's simply bad business to not deliver on your promises.

Como otros Selinas, instalaciones modernas cerca de uno de los nuevos barrios de moda. Aunque las calles más cercanas no son las más agradables, es una zona segura. La cocina estaba bastante bien y las zonas comunes muy buenas. Le pongo la pega de que el colchon estaba bastante hundido. Las habitaciones comodas aunque se compartan. Fui en temporada baja y estaba bastante vacio y no tenia mucha vida. La terraza estaba cerrada por obras pero seguro que tiene vistas geniales.

It's a nice place to go as a solo traveller because the place promotes co living and there's activities to get to know each other and I saw ppl gathering to cook lunch together However the standard room looks very nice but after living there, it did not seem like it. First of all, there's not enough light in the room, secondly the bathroom was always wet because the door to shower could not hold all the water in coming while showering. Also I would appreciate a private fridge, hair drier. The building is located not in the safest neighborhood in the city, frankly to say We liked: wifi, interior, common facilities, welcome drink 🍻

Terrible experience in this hostel. Firstly when I arrived my bed in a shared bedroom was not made up and I found a bedbug. Then I upgraded my room to a double, which costed a total of 170€ for 3/nights in winter, breakfast included, i think its pricey. My room was cleaned only one day and had no TV. The rooftop was closed because renewing it, no comments. Then breakfast is at 8.30am, 8.30!! Considering day trips/tours start at 8 or 9 am...they didn't give me another option so basically have bkf on your own. In addition, there is no buffet so you can not choose what you want, they give you a toast, scrambled egg, Greek salad and juice, that's it, I ordered a coffee at 8.20am and they wanted me to pay for it. A green tea take in costs 4€ ?!??!!! I will be back to Athens, but not this hostel.

Ich bin geschockt das hier Bilder gezeigt werden die es gar nicht gibt. Fotos werden mit Fotoshop bearbeitet. Möbel aufgestellt die gar nicht vorhanden sind. Ein Pool den es in dem Hotel gar nicht gibt. Essen was es gar nicht gibt. Das Frühstück ist eine Frechheit, kalte Rühreier eine halbe Scheibe getrocknetes Brot eine Handvoll klein geschnittenes getrocknetes Obst eine Mini Tasse dünnen Kaffee oder ein Mini Glas Saft der nicht mal frisch gepresstes ist . Man muss sich für eins von beiden entscheiden beides zusammen darf man gar nicht haben. Nachnehmen darf man auf keinen Fall. Die gesamte Erscheinung trifft überhaupt nicht zu. Auf den Fotos ist alles schön und sauber und korrekt und die Realität sieht aus als wäre man in einem dritte Welt Land. Alles verdreckt stinkend alles verseucht alles kaputt. Uns wird man dort sicherlich nicht wiedersehen.

Hostel ist ganz nett gemacht, oben gibt es eine Rooftop Terrasse. Ich hatte eine Doppelzimmer gebucht, leider war es sehr hellhörig und im ganzen Zimmer recht feucht, weil die Luft im Bad nicht abziehen konnte und es dort kein Fenster gibt. Das Frühstück ist eine absolute Frechheit: das Ei war kalt, das Obst war trocken und ich durfte keinen zweiten Kaffee bekommen, als ich danach fragte, weil ich zusätzlich einen Orangensaft genommen hatte (!!) Das war der O-Ton vom Personal. Geht leider überhaupt nicht! Nie wieder

I had a private room with private ensuite bathroom. The room was lovely, clean, spacious with a balcony. There is a fully equipped kitchen for common use in 1st floor. The breakfast served in the rooftop was also good, and you have a view to the Acropolis. The location is close to Acropolis and getting around was easy. The staff were friendly and overall was good. There are however 2 things to be aware of: 1. There's a construction happening nearby and they start making noises 8 am sharp everyday ! Check if your room will be affected when booking. Gladly the construction stops in the evening so if you return to the hotel only at night, it will be ok. 2. The room service is not daily, it is every few days and they do not change towels.

This is an hostel and not an hotel, even with expensive rooms… I’ve taken the so called suite, the room is nice but with flaws like cheap toilet seat and bathroom tiles and soaps, and the facilities aren’t clean. The TV was missing a remote control and the speaker missing electricity cable, and the team didn’t have replacements nor was surprised, and suggested we find an alternative. Despite putting a sign to clean the room, trash bins were emptied, and after 3 days in the room, no cleaning was done, just replaced towels and reorganize bed sheets. The reception team is nice and kind, and the co-working and rooftop are worth a visit, just not staying.

The room was really small and didn’t get cleaned. Our towels were refreshed once (we stayed for 6 days). We forgot our phone when checking out. We didn’t noticed until we were on the way to the airport. We called Selina and they told us they didn’t found anything. Later on we saw that our pictures were deleted from our Google Drive and there were new pictures on (from the person who stole it). We are 100% sure we left the phone in the room, so the cleaning team must have stole the phone. We complained to Selina and got a rude answer back with a made up story. Would not recommend this hostel. Your stuff is not save.

Area: Area is very close to the big streets but the neighbourhood itself is a bit sketchy. Not sure if people actually live there. Service: The people at the reception are incredibly friendly and try to help as much as they can. For example, one of our blankets had a lipstick stain and the receptionist made sure to have it replaced immediately. Facilities: We had the family room. Very basic amenities in the room itself. However there is a kitchen on the first floor that we could use. Keep in mind that there are no free packets of tea and coffee like you might get in other hotels. The rooftop… yeah… fun for party animals but veeery loud until the middle of the night. We were on the fifth floor and asked the reception to tone it down at some point, but we could still hear them. That was honestly the biggest issue during our stay. We didn’t know there would be sound pollution in this way and probably wouldn’t have booked it if we knew. But again, the service of the receptionists made it up a little bit for it.

My first stay was ok. The dorm was on 8th floor so you hear the rooftop music banging all day until 1am and then at 1am you hear all the tidying of the place… chairs being dragged etc BUT they made a mistake in ´y accomodation so they changed me for a room which had a great view on the acropolis and was quite big too. My second stay I asked if i could stay in the same room they checked and told me no because the room was empty and therefore closed and they put me in a not so great room on the same floor but with no view at all. When I mentioned to the receptionist that it was not great she just laughed. It’s a constant thing in Selina. They have better options but always choose to put you in the worst for some reason (I stayed to a few of them and it’s really a pattern) and when you complain sometimes they change you … Super strange … and not customer friendly.

Nous sommes restés une nuit en septembre ; l’hôtel nous a surclassé avec une suite. Ce n’est pas luxueux mais la chambre est grande et bien équipée ; la vue sur l’Acropole est étonnante. La literie est très bonne. C’est un hôtel de jeunesse, la propreté et l’entretien de l’hôtel laisse à désirer. Les alentours (quartier) sont un peu glauques. Petit déjeuner pauvre et très mauvais service : c’est lent, il manque plein de choses (couteaux, fourchettes, sucre, etc.) qu’il faut réclamer, les tables ne sont pas essuyées. Ce qui est compris dans le petit déjeuner avec la chambre est limité, donc pauvre, l’objectif est de facturer des suppléments. Cependant la vue depuis le roof top est sublime. Nous ne reviendrons pas à Selina Athènes.

La ubicación nada agradable todas las calles circundantes son llenas de grafitis y oscuras, no está en una calle principal. El desayuno no fue bueno lo único rescatable fue el jugo natural de naranja y las frutas, el café, las tostadas, huevo duro (estaba helado) estuvo pésimo. We were in Selina a week ago. We were on the 8th floor, under the rooftop bar and it was extremely difficult to sleep because the music was extremely loud... The worst thing was the actitude of some of the workers. They answered us telling that the bar was managed by another company and they can do more than ask them for reduce the volume of the music. Finally they changed us the room at midday the second night after some complaints. If you want to sleep don't accept last floors!!

Stayed in dorm of 4 people. About bunker beds: super sturdy, broader than standard bunkers, curtains provide enough private space and there is light inside for you to read. Their lockers also have light inside which is convenient. Service: always available on their WhatsApp messaging and as well as physically at the desk. Always courteous and nice. Cleaning: rooms and common area everything is cleaned everyday. Common areas: multiple common areas for hanging out, reading, working, watching movies, yoga and cooking. Rooftop bar: just like in pictures amazing. Gives a wonderful view of the entire city including acropolis. Location: most of the historic sites are within 30 minutes walking distance. Less than 10 minutes walk from Monastiraki area which is a very happening area with street music, evening street shows, flee market and restaurants with live music. However one thing I want to mention is that walking in the night, literally for 30 seconds does not feel that great. There is happening Monastiraki area and suddenly one block of nothing and then the hostel. So be careful in the night. You get everything for what you pay. Absolutely happy about everything.

Viajei com meu namorado e quando chegamos a cama que foi designada para ele estava ocupada por outro hospede e lhe deram outra cama. Mas no dia seguinte tiraram suas coisas de lá!! E nesse processo uma peça de roupa foi perdida!! Sem problemas designar outra cama, mas retirarem nossas coisas sem autorização por falta de organização deles? QUE EXPERIÊNCIA HORRÍVEL E INACEITÁVEL! Teve uma noite que o despertador de um hóspede tocava incessantemente e o dono não acordava porque estava bêbado e completamente inconsciente. Após diversas tentativas de acordá-lo, os outros 4 hóspedes acordaram e levaram o celular para a recepção, que se negou a recebê-lo e ainda disse que nada poderia ser feito, sugeriram que todo o quarto permanecesse acordado por isso. O restante do quarto disse que deixaria o celular em uma área comum e, assim, a recepção aceitou guarda-lo até que o dono acordasse. Que falta de preparo dos funcionários, nunca mais vou a nenhum hostel Selina e não recomendo! Se você tiver qualquer problema, a recepção não saberá o que fazer e deixará você na mão, como tentou fazer conosco. O táxi pedido diretamente pelo hostel até o aeroporto custa 45 euros, mas no taxímetro deu 35 euros, recomendo pedir por app.

Este hotel tiene una condición importante que es que no limpian las habitaciones, "como política de empresa" No cambian las toallas, no sacan la basura, no limpian el baño, etc. Solo lo hacen a partir del tercer día. No lo anuncian en su web, ni en Booking, ni en ninguna parte, para no perder clientes. No es tampoco un buen lugar para dormir y descansar. En el terrado ponen la música muy elevada hasta las 2 de la mañana. Se oye a varias manzanas alrededor. Por último, el desayuno no sé puede elegir, "es fijo". Café tibio, un trozo de bollo rancio, un huevo duro frío, un sándwich y unos trozos de fruta. El barrio da la impresión de que es inseguro Si hubiésemos conocido todas estas condiciones de antemano, hubiésemos ido a otro sitio.

This is one of the reason I always choose Selina wherever I travel over other hostal. The service is so personalized that you feel the know you each time you come by. I was starting to smoke my cigar in the roof, the have only conventional ashtray, but as soon as they noticed me lighting it up, they offered me a cigar ashtray. The hostel looks nice and a great way to meet people. Unfortunately I was unable to stay at this hostel due to the staff’s inflexibility after their mistake of letting me book and move into my dorm room with a small dog and then they called me to say I have to pay 22 euros extra for a private room because their manager didn’t allow dogs in a 4-bed dorm room. This was after I had let them know I have a 2 kg dog and them reassuring me that everything was okay with my booking, that they allow dogs etc. Then they gave me the key and I moved into my room with all of my stuff and then I got a call from the reception saying that their manager won’t allow it even when the 3 other people in the room didn’t mind having such a small dog around at all (I specifically asked). They didn’t let me stay in that room despite all of that and so I had to find a new hostel. They should really have it written somewhere before you book a bed that dogs are for private rooms only, they didn’t apologise not once and didn’t even give me a discount for having to upgrade my room due to their mistake. Horrible and very chaotic miscommunication between the staff, otherwise could be a nice place.

Excellent location and value (in July 2022) for a hotel in Paros. Perfect for kitesurfers (minutes away from the main kitespot on the island). This is a clean, comfortable, well designed but not luxurious facility and it does not try to be more. My room (with balcony) was comfortable but I can see why the rooms on the street side can be noisy. The bathroom was ridiculously small / poorly designed (main drawback of the stay): Hotel Management: a sliding door would makes tons of sense for the bathroom. Staff (in all positions) was super friendly, dynamic, helpful. Beautiful pool and amazing views of the bay. Impeccable cleanliness. Great breakfast with rich selection and the restaurant serves really tasty food at a decent price. A super nice aspect of the hotel's location: you are steps away from the ferry to Antiparos which has great beaches and a super nice vibe in its village at night. Highly recommended.

Habe eine Nacht im Hostel verbracht. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Mitarbeitende, unkompliziert und modern. Das Doppelzimmer war sehr einfach eingerichtet, aber man braucht nicht mehr. Toller Blick auf die Akropolis vom Zimmer! Wunderschöne Dachterrasse mit 360-Blick über Athen mit tollem Sonnenuntergang! Nur schon für das hat es sich gelohnt. Dir Gegend ist abends etwas "unheimlich" (ich war alleine und war froh, dass ich dann um 20 Uhr Zuhause war), obwohl sie nicht weit vom Stadtkern entfernt ist. Habe dann den Abend einfach auf der Terrasse verbracht, was toll war. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Central location even though not very nice neighborhood, relatively close to a metro station even though if needed to walk with luggages it’s a little more complicated and I would recommend a taxi even just for 5 minutes. Rooms were relatively clean though, and the whole hostel is very nicely organised and designed. Roof top is amazing 🤩 As for the rooms - only one central light for a relatively big room so either complete light or darkness. Not only that - the doors slams so loudly every time so it’s hard to sleep or you wake everybody up if you don’t pay attention. I have to say that the big safe box above the bed is wayyyy too big and I hit my legs a few times while sleeping…. Not only that - the room was not chilled enough even though the AC was Al the way down and it was much worse in the toilet / kitchen area. The only cool place was the cinema room - I probably should have slept there 😂 There were only 2 bathroom/showers on my floor - and for such a big place I’m not sure it’s enough. Plus the shower was anyways dirty and wet (since there’s no proper separation between the shower and toilet and all the water goes on the floor). Furthermore - many times there weren’t enough toilet paper until after the cleaning lady arrived. They charge extra for towels - I think for that’s price a night - which is relatively expensive for a hostel - you should at least provide a towel… The water in the cooler was never cold - but hey, at least they had a cooler :) most hostels don’t even have that … Only 2 elevators for 8 floors is defiantly not enough in my opinion. Also there’s a blackout with a “view” , yes. To a big building blocking the view 😂 Nevertheless, the staff was very friendly and helpful and I loved the wellness room. All and all good experience, not great, not amazing. Other Selina’s I’ve been to around the world were more engaging. But all and all good experience, just a little pricy in my opinion :)

location is close to tourist areas as well as nice restaurants. am all about a lifestyle hotel but they should let their guests know about evening rooftop DJ parties in advance. the room design is a bit outdated while the minimal bathroom decor was more sophisticated, which is oddly inconsistent. staff is young and cool, i suppose… but not necessarily helpful at check-in with bags. they seem like they can’t be bothered to go above and beyond with service. maybe they’re just going for cool hostel vibes but my room was not a hostel room at hostel prices.

I stayed in the suite as a single person because the price was less than a regular hotel with more space and I was sure the internet would be good since they are a co-working space. The internet was indeed excellent for video conferencing. In short everything was fantastic-especially the views from the patio. The room was very clean. I was also surprised at how good the linens were. The location was also fantastic- not completely touristy but still close enough to everything. Only one word of caution: There is a hotel across the street that has a club on the roof that plays music quite loud on Saturdays until around midnight. Luckily my nose cancelling earphones took care of that!

Had a very unpleasent stay at this hostel. Uncomfortable small bed, extremely tiny shared toilet/shower on the floor. While staff was nice/friendly, they were also mostly incompetent, tried charging the hotel booking twice as they didn't know how to use their system and other misbehaviours you wouldn't expect in a real hotel. Seemed like most staff was on working vacation or so, very untrained and unskilled. Misbookings when booking via hotel websites apparently happen regularly at this place, so you may not get what you booked and paid for and they will simply push away responsibility to the booking website. Location is bad/ugly/dirty, although not far from touristic city center. We left after one short night and found a MUCH better hotel 1 minute away for the same money.

Worst hotel experience ever, as this is a youth hostel, it clearly states at the entrance. Agoda messed up the booking and we got an empty room with no shower/sink/toilet and a 140cm bed supposed to be for 2 persons. Also the most incompetent hotel staff I have ever experienced + they don't know how to handle their sales channels to prevent such mistakes, instead they just keep blaming the booking company. They even tried charging a booking twice and keep our ID cards for no reason, until we got the manager to intervene (which took some heated argumentation to get the manager involved eventually). For check-in you have to install an app and follow some ridiculous process, or complain until they give you the normal check in form to fill in manually. A 140cm bed described as "double bed", and also terribly soft and uncomfortable so you won't really be able to sleep. The place may be fine for hostel dorm beds, but it can not be considered an actual hotel, 3 stars is very much overstated. Also it may be not far from the city sights etc, but the location the hotel is in is very low class and seems dangerous at night. There are certainly much better hotels available very closeby for the same money.

Mediocre hostel if you just need to stay a couple nights. Not recommended if you need to work or for longer stays. Pros: - A/C in rooms works well - Internet works well - Location is good, near all the tourist sites Cons: - I stayed at Selinas for a month instead of doing an Airbnb like I usually do. It's much, much more expensive and you get much less. - Private rooms don't have a desk and are very dark with lousy lights (the best lights are in the bathroom). - Co-working space is a cramped table (unless you pay more) -- you're better off working from the kitchen. - Not a very social atmosphere on the rooftop bar, seemed to be mostly closed groups and not an open traveler atmosphere - The app wasn't showing me all the events and the staff didn't really care to help or explain if it was supposed to, they just said "look at the posters we put up". - The sole kitchen for so many floors of rooms has two small, overstuffed refrigerators, so don't expect to buy much food. - No laundry on-site, they want to charge you 15 euros (!) for laundry - Pub crawl was a poorly-planned affair with too many people, poor leaders giving directions in a noisy area where it's impossible to hear anything and then offended you didn't listen to them - Loud music late at night. Thankfully I had my noise-canceling earbuds.

I was really unpleasantly surprised by this place, I expected a lot more with Selina's reputation. I went to try out their coworking space with the intention of also renting a room for a month. They wouldn't let me see a room for rent ("due to covid"...which makes absolutely no sense for a coliving environment) and left me to get lost on my way to the coworking space---which is literally a single table in the middle of a room with no windows, enclosed by nice work spaces but they're all private rooms that have been rented, and there are these uncomfortable phone booth looking rooms for calls that have really loud fans going in each one, a bright overhead light, and a stool. At some point I did see someone else receiving a full tour of the facility, and I asked this employee (and two others) about reserving a breakout room as advertised, but they all said either they didn't know or it wasn't possible. During my 30 minute job interview (the reason for going there in the first place), the internet completely dropped out. So yeah not worth it for the poor customer service, the coworking facilities, the unreliable internet, and the hefty price tag. You can get internet speeds just as fast at restaurants/cafes where it's cheaper to buy a meal and enjoy the atmosphere than to pay for a day pass here---and certainly cheaper than renting a room!

I stayed at Selina Athens for 3 weeks and it did not disappoint! From check-in with Nino to Barbara, Nico and the rest of the reception staff were always extremely helpful, positive and in good spirits. Seriously, everyone working the front desk was great! Then there was the rooftop restaurant and bar. Incredible views, food and bartenders!! George and Panos always made sure that customers were taken care of professionally. I can´t say how great they really were! Then there was Kostas aka ¨The Greek Bear¨who is one of the best and most famous bartenders in all of Greece----islands included! Seriously the guy is a legend- so don´t forget to tip well when visiting! The servers for the restaurant were always very nice and professional as well. Co-working was good and I was able to get things done while enjoying the rest of the hotels ammenities while also visiting the sights in Athens! This was the best Selina I have stayed at and will return for sure!

Their cocktails are the best in town and their bartender Kastas made every effort to make our stay memorable. The food was great. Everywhere was really clean and welcoming throughout the hotel, and there's always a new face in the communal areas and it was really easy making new friends. I don't have a bad word to say. Great experience, priced at a competitive price. You get far for than you pay for. Not to mention that the roof garden has a beautiful clear view of the Acropolis of Athens. I've stayed in over 20 different Selinas and this is my new favorite. The staff are all wonderful and friendly. The view from the rooftop overlooking the acropolis can't be beat. WiFi worked perfect throughout the whole building. The dorm bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Bathroom was spotless and the whole facilities are in perfect condition. L'accueil était irréprochable tant à l'accueil où l'équipe est toujours souriante qu'au petit déjeuner où George et son équipe ont su s'adapter aux besoins de notre groupe de 26 avec rapidité, efficacité et une gentillesse particulièrement appréciable. Le rooftop avec sa magnifique vue sur l'Acropole est évidemment un atout de l'établissement, tout comme d'autres équipements (salle de sport, cuisine, salle de télévision...). Just avoid it. You pay an extra for the extra amenities and they are all locked or only available if you pay an extra. But they still promote all them as a basic part of the hotel. For less I there were good places just for myself where I could work properly. I went to other Selina in Brazil and the only thing in common was the clean room. I'm so happy I made a mistake and only book it for a few days. Kitchen, covid restriction although looks like a excuse speaking with other people here. Roof top, Only open some times but there is no timetables. Library, closed too. Coworking, all paid only. Freaking just no.

I had the best experience I've ever had at any Selina I've visited here. Every single person I interacted with was so accommodating and kind. I highly recommend the bar crawl that they offer- it was so much fun and I got to meet so many people! The rooftop bar staff was particularly amazing. George took care off that place like it was his own restaurant. The bartenders were incredibly talented too! I also received some particularly rough news from home while I was there and they were the first to comfort me and take care of me. I can't speak highly enough of them!

Schönes Hostel mit toller Dachterasse und sehr netten Mitarbeitern. Das Hostel ist sehr zentral gelegen, nachts ist die Gegend allerdings aus meiner Sicht etwas schwierig. Das Essen und die Drinks im Dachrestaurants sind top, die Preise eher deutscher Standard. Leider sind die Zimmer eher spärlich eingerichtet und das Hostel generell sehr hellhörig. This was my first trip out of the United States and I was extremely lucky to stay at this hostel. The front desk staff was amazing and the waiters and bar staff on the rooftop couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. Panos and George from the rooftop were very knowledgeable about things to do around the city and introduced me to other people my age which made the stay the greatest trip of my life. I was able to make great friends that will last a lifetime at this place! Definitely a must!! I will go back one day!

Fuimos ayer a tomar algo y el sitio es maravilloso. Las vistas son espectaculares, el ambiente muy bueno y la atención de los camareros excelente, especialmente la de George. We love Selina’s hotels and have stayed at many around the world. This location was exactly like the rest…it’s updated and clean with few extra frills (no fridge) but that’s why we love it and appreciate the inexpensive rates. It is located in an alternative part of Athens but it’s a short walk (5 minutes) to all the best parts of the city. The rooftop bar features fabulous views of the acropolis and the bartender served us despite it being outside of normal business hours which was greatly appreciated also. Don’t miss the little restaurant across the street…their food was some of the best we had in Athens and it was also very inexpensive!

The hotel is okay, nicely done and internet works just fine. Unfortunately I was there when they just opened after retrictions and rooftop or cafe on GF were not open or acessible. Front Desk is also not open 24/7 as said on the notes. There was a security guard that was not very welcoming when I arrived at 1am from my flight.

Disappointing experience. I paid for a single room with shared bathroom as much or more than I paid for whole apartments during my trip in Athens and Thessaloniki. I was forced to stay one more night in Athens due to a flight issue and I chose Selina because I know the brand from my sabbatical trip. I especially wanted to spend time on the terrace rooftop but it was close for "renovations". You'd think they could have done these renovations earlier not in full season. The room itself is clean and has a balcony, it's just it's very poor value for money for Athens were apartments are so cheap even booked 2-3 days ahead.

This is my first time at a Selina property and i'm fully in love. I've had such a great experience at the hotel i'm actually planning on moving to Athens in January. The property itself is in an up and coming part of town and everything you need is in walking distance. I ignored advice to only spend a few days in Athens and have been here two weeks - in that time the hotel staff have become like family, with huge shout outs to Oliver, Linda and Archaos who have just made the stay a home away from home. The rooms are great value, clean and most importantly have a shower that isn't stingy when it comes to water pressure. The food and service is impeccable (the salmon salad being the highlight) and the rooftop is a VIBE. If you're a young professional looking to have a workcation then this is the hotel for you - with the co-work and the space in the lobby to work you'll meet some other fellow travellers who are here too. The hotel has a security guard here and all guests are looked after (the area is super safe don't worry) but it's nice to see a security presence regardless. The team here are all so passionate about the hotel and it really is an extension of the location it's in. If you hadn't worked out by now i'd highly recommend to stay here.

Nous avons réservé début septembre en couple, nous avons eu une chambre nickel. Les wc et la salle de bain sont en commun mais ils sont très propre. Le personnel est très professionnel et sympa. Et le roof top en haut de l’auberge est magique! Je conseille vivement cette auberge. L’emplacement est idéal, à quelques minutes il y a plusieurs bars et restaurants. Maybe the best Hostel in Athens - Absolutely recommendable! I stayed with my girlfriend for 7 days at Selinas. We arrived in the middle of the night, which was absolutely no problem. The hostel/hotel is brand new and centrally located in the old town of Athens. Acropolis and all other sights in the center are within walking distance. We got a free upgrade to a room with private bathroom and balcony. The receptionist and the security, who is present 24/7 in the reception area, were extremely nice and always helpful. The rooms were very clean. We especially liked the Rooftop Bar, which has a perfect view of the Acropolis and other parts of Athens. The Selinas in Athens was probably one of the best hostels we have been to so far. The only negative point is that at night (especially as a woman) on the way home you don't feel 100% comfortable in the directly surrounding alleys. But the police is present on several motorcycles day and night. Thank you @ the whole selinas Team, you guys did a great job! :))

Μείναμε λίγες ημέρες αλλά μόνο θετικά μπορώ να πω για το ξενοδοχείο. Οι υπάλληλοι ήταν πολύ ευγενικοί και στη ρεσεψιόν ήταν διαθέσιμοι οποιαδήποτε ώρα! Ο χώρος ήταν απίστευτος και πολύ καθαρός. Το Rooftop είχε πανέμορφη θέα και εξαιρετικό φαγητό/ποτά. Οι τιμές αρκετά καλές. Το δωμάτιο που μείναμε ήταν το standard δίκλινο και ήταν καθαρό και ωραίο. Το κρεβάτι εξαιρετικό. Θα το έχουμε πρώτο πρώτο στη λίστα!!
