I just had the most amazing week at LaPoint. The staff are all so lovely and helpful. Zac and Chris are great surf instructors and have incredible local knowledge to pick the best spots for each level. The space at the camp is so great to hang out in and it’s only a 10 min walk to Lojares village which has surf shops, supermarket, bars, coffee etc. The camp is also a 10 min drive from larger towns and all the best surf spots. There are also some great walks/runs you can do from the camp. The food was delicious, healthy and varied throughout the week with big portions for everyone. I would highly recommend this camp anyone who wants to make new friends and improve their surfing.

My week in Laola was unforgettable, thanks to the people I met there. Truly unforgettable memories! The host managers, Mimi, Margaux, and Susi, are incredible—always smiling, helpful, and going above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect (despite the less-than-ideal conditions). A huge thank you to them for their presence and help. And above all, for their great humor!! The surf coaches are also fantastic and very patient, which really helps us improve! A big thank you to Teo for that! I loved every session and the amazing atmosphere each time. However, I'm only giving Laola 3 stars because I have to say I was very disappointed with everything else: - The facilities are in a terrible state and completely neglected. - I had a double room with a bathroom and toilet entirely outdoors (no roof). While this might seem exotic at first glance, it's actually a nightmare because the constant dust floating outside settles on our belongings and towels. All the plumbing is rusty or falls apart. - The room doesn't have a fan, forcing us to sleep with the window open to avoid suffocating. The result: dust everywhere on the beds and our things, as well as mosquitoes and dampness. - There are no closed closets to store our belongings (again, a very unpleasant feeling of constantly living in dust). - The pools are dirty. - The rooms aren't cleaned; only the bath towels were replaced on Wednesday and the bathroom was given a quick wipe. The ground is constantly dirty and dusty. - We were asked to bring our own water bottles, but there were no water fountains available, and only the tap water in the two kitchens was drinkable, but it tasted awful! So be prepared to buy tons of plastic water bottles. - We experienced several power outages. - We also made our bathroom available to other camp guests who were unfortunately without water for 3-4 days and had no solution offered by Laola/Lapoint to resolve the problem. - The food is good, but I find it very expensive for only one dish per meal (no dessert). However, despite all these problems, I must say that what shocked and angered me most during my stay was the incompetence and absence of the Camp Manager (who, like the host managers, was housed on the campsite). This woman is ill-mannered, rude, and completely unresponsive to clients. I've lost count of all the questions I asked her directly on the WhatsApp group or in private messages, which she never answered. Perhaps the most unbearable thing was when she did answer (sometimes): no apology, no explanation, just flimsy replies to shirk responsibility or blame others. This is unacceptable. No solutions are offered when problems arise. There's no communication, especially when it's important. She didn't even show up on the first day. In conclusion, even though I had a great week (thanks to the surf coaches and host managers, you deserve 5 stars 😉), I wouldn't recommend this surf camp. It's not the first surf camp I've attended, but it's my first with Laola, and I'm disappointed. I don't think I'll repeat the experience with that brand.

Lapoint Fuerteventura is the ideal winter escape as it’s just a short flight from Europe yet offering sun, warm weather, and waves. The camp has everything: pools, surf skate areas, and plenty of chill spaces, all near great surf spots. Activities such as hiking the nearby volcano or sharing a paella night brought everyone together for good times. The camp’s design makes it super easy to meet new people, giving the whole place a fun, social, and welcoming vibe.

After a week at La Point Fuerteventura, I've noticed some things that could be improved. The food quality is good, but it's scarce at lunchtime, especially when you're hungry after surfing. Despite advertising the "independent" level for advanced surfers, the boards at the camp are for beginners. The wetsuits are completely torn and have holes in them. Surfskateboards can only be used during the first lesson; to use them the rest of the week, you have to pay €30. Surfboards can only be used during the lesson. Since they use solar energy, there's no hot water in the showers most days, especially if your surf lesson is in the afternoon, you'll most likely have to shower with cold water. On the other hand, the staff and facilities are exceptional; the week was worth it!

This was an amazing holiday, where all the camp staff and surf instructors were amazing. The camp is visually stunning with lovely eating areas and great yoga room. We had a great time with a lovely bunch of people. Only downside was beds quite cheap and not very sturdy so didn’t sleep very well but we were in a dorm and also we didn’t have a warm shower the whole time we were there (December) as they rely on solar to heat the water. Lots of cold showers! Also top tip, if you want to surf other breaks with no beginners you’ll need a hire car.

The accomodation in general is really nice, modern, beautiful. The pools are nice but cold. The design of the buildings and the interior design is very pretty. I slept in a twin room with an outside bathroom though which wasn’t satisfying. It was so cold in the evenings/ in the morning/ at night that we were freezing as soon as we got to the bathroom in our pyjama. And as there’s wind as well and the shower is cold (except two times), it’s just absolutely freezing in the bathroom. During the day it’s ok. Other twin rooms at the same rate have a really nice, luxury bathroom. Shower is cold as well. The food is amazing! I’ve never had a surfcamp with such nice food. Absolutely delicious and healthy. If you tell them your diet, they take care of that. Tea and water was included. You were allowed to bring your own alcohol and to put it in the fridge. You could even wash your clothes for free if you ask. Activities such as beer pong, movie night or quiz night were funny. Would have been great to play a name to get to know the names of all 35 guests. Amazing staff. They try to make everything possible. Yoga is great as well. Surf skate was fun. The guests were great. Really nice vibe. For surfing I don’t recommend the camp. We’ve been a bit unlucky with the surf conditions as it was very windy, but the surf lessons in general weren’t good. I’ve been to 4 surfcamp before and this one was the one with the worst surf lessons. It always depends on the teacher though. I couldn’t improve over the week. It felt more like I went down from intermediate to beginners level. The teacher always took us to the same beach except once even that the conditions haven’t been great. Many times he would rather surf the waves himself than teaching the group. And he was quite moody and didn’t seem that motivated. Shouting at us and other surfers. We didn’t have the feeling that he was motivated to teach us or to help us getting better. In explaining the conditions, the water, the waves, the current etc. he did well. To be fair, other groups did have great teachers though. As you’re surfing on the reef you would need shoes. I couldn’t wear shoes during every surf lesson as they only had one pair of my size. So I did scratch my feed at the reef. To dry the wetsuits they were hanging in a dark outside cabin where they obviously wouldn’t dry. So the next day you had to get into your wet and cold wetsuit every morning which was pretty annoying. As a result the wet suits and the group shirts did stink. Other surfcamps manage to dry all the wetsuits over night. The transport busses that were used to bring us to the surf spots were kind of old/ broken. Seat belts didn’t work in every bus and in one bus dirty water just poured out of the door right onto the seat next to the door. Our busses were very dirty (dust, sand, salt) so that your clothes/ bag were dirty after surfing for sure. The location of the camp is beautiful and quiet. As Lajares doesn’t have that much to do, we got a bit bored in the afternoon sometimes.

one stcloser with @lapointcamps If you actually want to learn how to longboard—not just catch waves—this is the place. The program focuses on all the little details that make a huge difference: trimming, cross-stepping, positioning, style, and learning how to move properly on the wave. After spending time here, my longboarding improved more than it has anywhere else. If you’re serious about progressing, I honestly can’t recommend another place more. 🌊🤍 #surfing #longboarding #surfergurl #travel #surfing
