Positives: - Private room was clean. - Staff were nice. Negatives: - Private room was overpriced - Bed was hard - Location isn't great. It's at the top of the hill if me and my friends wanted to go downtown we'd have to walk up and down the hill. - Cleanliness. The kitchen smelt bad and there was limescale in the kettles! It felt like a dated kitchen too didn't match the aesthetic portrayed in the IG posts. I'd advise anyone who wants to stay at a hostel try to pick one that's closer to the downtown areas it makes logistics way easier and you can get more out of your stay. Also, if you intend to visit the hostel for the social aspect I'd avoid this one as a previous reviewer mentioned it's mostly the volunteers talking amongst themselves. It felt like a clique. This felt more like student accommodation than anything.

Sommaire pour un débarquement en urgence pour raison familiale, mais sympa, grande cuisine commune, des frigos, parfait pour des jeunes qui ont envie d'en rencontrer d'autres, de partager la passion du surf, du windsurf, cours divers, yoga, gym, etc...également. Piscine, billard, kicker, jeux d'échecs etc. Mini chambres, privative ou petits dortoirs partagés. Petits déjeuners variés à commander la veille à partir de 8h30. Une wasserette. Grande terrasse fleurie, tables, chaises, banquettes, fauteuils bains de soleil, machine à café variés, chocolat chaud, machines à friandises sucrées et salées. Déconseillé aux couples et aux enfants. Calme mais le soir musique. Pas trop tard heureusement. Clientèle mixte de jeunes de toute l'Europe. Parking. PS : si vous cherchez un 4* passez votre chemin. C'est un lieu superbe mais qui dépanne.

L endroit est sympa, très convivial, avec la piscine, le bar le soir et des endroits pour se reposer et manger. La chambre est basique. Lit confortable mais linge de lit minimum. Le drap couvre juste le matelas. Il y a des moisissures sur un mur. Les rideaux sont difficiles à ouvrir et le comble, vue de la fenêtre sur l étendoir et sur la musculation, donc impossible d ouvrir les fenêtres. La chambre sent le renfermé. La salle de bain est acceptable avec douche et baignoire. gel douche à acheter. C est une auberge de jeunesse. Du bruit et de la musique jusqu'à 23h mais au delà, les gens devraient respecter les autres qui dorment ou ont besoin de calme. C est insupportable les cris, les rires aux éclats et les courses poursuites juste devant notre porte, qui malheureusement pour nous, est juste sur le couloir pour aller vers les dortoirs. La cuisine partagée est très intéressante. Par contre, l endroit est vraiment perdu, rien autour, et une bonne marche à pied de 20 mn pour aller au bord de la mer. Belle vue de loin. En tout cas, je ne referai pas 😄 c est une expérience à faire

Woow, what an experience, i'm super happy with my time i spend at the tree house. The rooms are very clean, you get a very good night sleep since they are very respecting the quiet hours. The whole place is very pretty an has awesome views. They organized a BBQ which was fantastic, you can meet alot of people. shoutout to the manager Rebecca and the loveley volunteer Vera, which made my time even better. And of course the Shuttler driver Facundo which does such a great job! thanks🙏🏻

Un completo desastre. Me alojé porque me confié de las reseñas y sinceramente ha sido lo peor. El primer día cuando llegué, la chica de la recepción no sabía hablar español, solo inglés, no sabía ni dónde estaba mi habitación, ni dónde estaban las llaves de la misma para hacer mi check in. Entiendo que pudiese llevar poco tiempo trabajado allí, pero me ha parecido desastroso como presentación y me parece mal que no te atiendan en español como si las Canarias fuesen Reino Unido. En segundo lugar, la limpieza de la habitación dejaba mucho que desear, había pelos en las sábanas y en el baño bastante moho, además de suciedad. En tercer lugar y no menos importante, un par de veces saliendo de la habitación me he encontrado en la piscina con personas FUMANDO PORROS, a los cuales nadie les decía nada, ni se les prohibía hacerlo, ni nadie se extrañaba. A dónde vamos a llegar considerando que esto es normal en un alojamiento. No pongo un cero porque la recepcionista aunque no hablase español al menos era agradable, pero me parece una vergüenza y un desastre de alojamiento. Ah y por último, la piscina con el agua un tanto turbia, y la ubicación pésima, pues tienes que hacer cambios de sentido en autovía para llegar y para irte porque solo se puede acceder desde la TF-1 en dirección Santa Cruz, y ojo que para salir, el Google maps te mete por un camino que ni siquiera es camino, es un barranco lleno de agujeros en el suelo en el que casi destrozó el coche de alquiler.

This is really a special hostel, ran by wonderful people. From Rebeca the manager to all the volunteers, I felt very welcome. In contrary to the prior review I have rarely been in a hostel with so many cool activities put on by the volunteers. There were beach trips, concerts, yoga, and more. The kitchen was large and we'll stocked aside from needing some refreshing of the pan selection. The pool area was great for hanging in the sun and though I didn't use it much there was a lot of coworking space. Mostly though it's the great vibe of the people that will live in my memory - thank you all. As far as improvements go I'd offer only that some lighting needs to be redone - nobody likes the super clinical kitchen light and the reading lights are like spotlights that illuminate the whole room. With a little DIY work this could all be fixed on the cheap (Rebeca if you read this I'd happily volunteer to do so aha). That and even tho I like a party perhaps the extra late party guests could be coerced into the kitchen so sleepy folk can rest a bit better. Finally, Please water the cats so they don't have to drink the pool! They are adding value to hostel so they deserve some fresh nice water, it costs nothing. That and maybe a litter box- it will help with the flies and the smells! 🐱

Mi novio y yo tuvimos una experiencia excelente desde el primer momento, comenzando con la recogida en el shuttl con el mítico conductor Facundo, hasta la llegada al hostal, donde fuimos recibidos por la increíble responsable de la estructura. Rebecca es el rayo de sol del hostal: simpática, disponible y todoterreno. Felicitaciones también a Candela por su cálido trato y disponibilidad, y a Rosa por su genuinidad y profesionalismo. Nos sentimos tan a gusto que decidimos volver para una semana más, y una vez más fuimos recibidos de la mejor manera. Un agradecimiento muy especial a todo el equipo.

La ubicación es perfecta, está alejado del pueblo así que tienes total tranquilidad, a unos 20 min andando llegas a una de las mejores calas de la zona. Las habitaciones están limpias, aliguam que los baños y todas las zonas comunes. La piscina está en perfecto estado para darte un chapuzón a cualquier hora del día. Pero si hay algo que destaca positivamente de este lugar son sus trabajadoras, Jana, Candela, Hafssa y Rebeca son las personas con las que he tratado y desde el minuto 0 te hacen sentir como en casa y están siempre a disposición. Sin duda alguna un lugar para volver a repetir.

Not as nice as advertised online, both in terms of accommodation quality, cleanliness, and overall vibe. The Instagram presence sells a cool, social atmosphere that isn’t really there — it mostly seems to be the volunteers socialising among themselves, rather than an inclusive guest experience. Cleanliness was a major issue throughout our stay. The kitchen was extremely dirty, with flies everywhere, cats on the counters and going through trash. While the hostel frequently replies to reviews emphasising cleanliness, this doesn’t appear to have been meaningfully addressed. A business cannot rely solely on guests to maintain hygiene — if this fails, staff should ensure shared spaces are properly cleaned for the next paying guest. The reliance on volunteers noticeably affects the atmosphere. Cleanliness felt superficial, and communication in the WhatsApp group came across as passive-aggressive (e.g. messages about leftover food, kitchen cleanliness and hair dryers). The overall vibe felt more like a student accommodation than a professionally run hostel. The location is nice if you want somewhere remote and quiet. However, during several days of heavy rain there was no covered communal space apart from the kitchen, so guests were mostly stuck in their tiny dorms. Quiet time is officially 11pm, but this wasn’t enforced. On Friday night, volunteers were hosting a concert that continued till 1AM, when a guest complained. There is clearly effort put into organising events, but most of them were cancelled due to low interest from guests.

In The tree house is het zalig om te verblijven. Het is een plaats waar je balans tussen rust, activiteit en werk kan terug vinden. Er zijn tal van activiteiten waar je vrij bent om aan deel te nemen. De vrijwilligers nemen je graag op sleeptouw en ik was echt van van de free yoga, power-yoga en sunrise yoga dat, door ervaren vrijwilligers, werd gegeven. In The tree house is een grote keuken aanwezig waar je je eigen potje kan koken, of je kan uitleven in het koken voor nieuwe vrienden of... je kan je laten verwennen door de vrijwilligers vd hostel van ontbijt tot diner. Voor mij is deze hostel met grote mooie buitenruimte en zwembad top, samen met het feit dat elke kamer zijn eigen sanitair heeft. I love it and i'll be back 😉😊🥰

Ich muss sagen, für mich das beste Hostel in dem ich jemals war. Bis jetzt war ich 2x dort und ich werde bestimmt wieder kommen! Hier werden alle Neuankömmlinge richtig herzlich empfangen und direkt in die Gruppe aufgenommen. Sowohl die anderen Gäste, als auch die Volunteers sind so so toll! Ich konnte richtig schöne neue Verbindungen schließen. Die Zimmer sind absolut in Ordnung, jeder Raum hat sein eigenes Badezimmer. Vor den Zimmern gibt es Sitzgelegenheiten, wo man auch mal seine Ruhe hat und für mich ein besonderes Highlight waren der Salzwasserpool, der Billiardtisch und die Bar. Jeden Abend sind wir alle zusammengesessen und haben geredet, Billiard gespielt oder haben im Pool Ball gespielt. Es werden jeden Tag verschiedenste Aktivitäten organisiert, wie z.B. Yoga, Gym-Class, BBQ, Karaoke, Surf lessons, usw. Bin wirklich begeistert von dem Hostel und echt traurig, nicht mehr dort zu sein.

I will start this review saying that TreeHouse Hostel is in my top three favorite locations all around the world. This is my second stay, and ThreeHouse confirms as a place that gives off great vibes. Lot of Sun, deliciuos swiming pool, a stunning landscape overlooking the sea, and coworking space where to work. It's the perfect place were to break routines and regenerete yourself. People and volontiers are amazing, as amazing si Rebeca, the soul and manager of ThreeHouse, a very empathetic and super enthusiastic person, who takes care of making every guest's stay superlative. It's a magic place, everyone who joins TreeHouse never want to leave!

This was by far the worst hostel experience I have ever had. First of all, I got bed bugs. My skin is having a horrible reaction — red, itchy spots that kept getting worse and even bled when scratched. I’m so angry! This alone is already unacceptable, but unfortunately it was only one part of the nightmare. The room was incredibly dirty, far beyond anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve stayed in hostels all across Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, and this was by far the worst experience. The property looks nice from the outside with the pool and all, but don’t let that fool you. Inside, it’s chaos. The kitchen is disgusting. Every time people cook, they leave everything behind — food scraps, spills, and even cracked eggshells all over the floor. Half of the food ends up on the ground, and nobody cleans after themselves. It genuinely looked worse than a dumpster. I also saw rats inside the room, walking around openly. Completely unacceptable and unsafe. Between the rats, the filth, and getting bed bugs, this was the most shocking hostel stay I’ve ever had. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone, not even to my worst enemy. If you’re looking for something affordable or thinking of working remotely, please do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Mi estancia aquí ha sido increíble, pero lo que realmente marca la diferencia es ella He estado alojada en este hostel y todo ha ido genial, pero quiero hacer una mención especial a Rebeca, porque su presencia cambia por completo la experiencia. Tiene un don natural para hacerte sentir en casa: su trato es impecable, cercana, amable, atenta a cada detalle, siempre pendiente de todos y cada uno de los huéspedes 🤍. Su manera de gestionar, de escuchar y de cuidar cada pequeño aspecto crea un ambiente que no se encuentra en cualquier sitio. Es de esas personas que sostienen un lugar con una dedicación que se nota a simple vista. Se percibe en la calma que transmite, en lo resolutiva que es, en cómo hace que todo fluya y en esa humanidad tan bonita que aporta ✨. Gracias a ella, estar aquí no es simplemente alojarse: es sentirte acompañado, seguro y bien recibido. Sinceramente, ojalá más espacios contaran con alguien así. Su trabajo eleva este hostel muchísimo más de lo que se ve desde fuera, y eso merece ser reconocido. No es habitual encontrar a una profesional que aporte tanto 🌍. Debo decir que sí que destaco que la mayoría estaba en inglés y estando en España se me hace raro que todos los carteles o informaciones estuviese principalmente en inglés. Para mi lo mejor de mi experiencia fue la recepcionista/manager Rebeca, que resolvía todas nuestras dudas y problemas. En concreto, para mi que de vacaciones me gusta levantarme tarde y las cortinas de mi habitación dejaban paso a la luz; me lo gestiono con rapidez y la mejor actitud. Nos ha encantado!! La decoración estaba á otro nivel para ser un hostel. Los murales, la piscina, el vibe tan guay que se respiraba en todo el lugar. Las habitaciones tenían detalles personalizados para nosotros que nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos desde el principio. Como único problema diría que es impresionante que el hostel funcione tan bien teniendo sólo una mánager/encargada. Sobre todo porque es la que estaba pendiente de todos los voluntarios, todo estuviese en orden y siempre con la mejor actitud.

Great stay, location is a bit off, but the free shuttle service works pretty fine. Staff is friendly, big thanks to Jana for the delicious breakfast and and the warm welcome by Rebecca. Even though there is no actual restaurant, they often offer cooking together which is very convenient. Still you should know it‘s important to bring some groceries when arriving at the place, especially when you arrive late. Can definitely recommend for working from here, there are two coworking spaces and an extra private office that can be reserved for free. Would come back 👍🏼

Como trabajador es una experiencia magica pero también penso sea lo mismo por los huéspedes, con el coche si consigue a hacer todo como ir al mar es solo 5 minutos igual por ir de compras ecc. la gente aquí es diferente con buenísima honda, mejor alojamiento de siempre por supuesto en todos los países donde fue yo. Vivir la experiencia en el Tree House fue maravillosa. El equipo de manager Rebeca y Jana hicieron que sea una estadía muy cómoda. Los espacios comunes muy amplios para el uso compartido y tanto la limpieza como el orden muy atentos. La hospitalidad del equipo voluntario fue lo mas destacable en estos días, invitando a realizar actividades diarias para conocer la Isla y compartir entre amigos. Les recomiendo este lugar tanto para co-working como para estar unos días de vocaciones. Lo único que me desagrado fue que no haya un seguridad a la noche para vigilar y controlar los ruidos y las pertenencias tanto en la cocina como en las habitaciones. Cualquier persona puede entrar por el parking e ingresar al hostel. Después todod excelente, la atención, la tranquilidad y el espacio compartido. Gracias por su buena vibra y su cómoda compañía 😊

Honnêtement je n’aime pas mal noter les établissements mais là il s’agit de faire de la prévention.. Auberge qui vend du rêve… premièrement j’ai été contrainte de partir car j’ai été piquée par des puces de lit. En parlant avec les seuls voyageurs de l’auberge, j’ai compris qu’ils ne changeaient pas les matelas juste les draps et qu’ils attendaient qu’un dortoir se vide pour mettre un nouvel arrivant. A ma connaissance les dortoirs 2,3 et 4 ont été infestés. Attention, pas de remboursement possible si vous partez plutôt et aucun compassion envers les volontaires. On vous passe 4 euros pour faire une machine à laver (qui est elle même dans un état vraiment dégoûtant) et c’est tout. Pour le reste de l’auberge, je pense que cela dépend des volontaires sur place, pour ma part ils n’étaient pas vraiment acides sur le ménage, et pour la plupart pas très agréable avec les voyageurs. Enfin on vous vend une auberge où l’on vous propose des activités chaque jour, je les attends encore, rien ne se passe au final. On vous dit au Check in que le bar ouvre tous les soirs de 21h à 23h… c’est faux il n’a ouvert qu’une fois car j’ai du le demander. En bref sur les photos c’est top, je pense que ce fut une très bonne auberge à l’époque puisqu’elle m’a été conseillée mais entre les puces de lit et la mauvaise énergie de la plupart des volontaires, vous pouvez trouver beaucoup mieux comme auberge proche d’El Medano. Toutefois Rebecca la manageuse a été très sympa, très accueillante ! J’espère donc qu’elle prendra en compte les avis et qu’elle ferra le nécessaire pour retrouver un standing équivalent à sa réputation. Point à noter: louer une voiture car vous êtes à 35 minutes à pied de la villa la plus proche et il n’y a rien autour (pas de plage, pas de commerçant etc..)

J'ai séjourné pendant plusieurs jours dans cette auberge et absoluement rien ne va. La cuisine était dégueulasse, du frigo au sol, une montagne de vaisselle en permanence dans les éviers. Tous les chats qui s'y baladent et qui vident les poubelles (de couleurs différentes pour le tri et finalement tout le monde fait n'importe comment) L'équipement de yoga, c'est à dire uniquement des tapis est un lambeau et couvert de poussiers, le sol de la terrasse où pratiquer est archi sale et poussiéreux + des punaises de lit dans plusieurs chambres (chose fréquente chez eux pour en avoir parlé avec d'ancienss voyageurs) et on nous a proposé un simple lavage (offert) des vêtements. C'est lunaire, les chambres restent occupées même contaminées et les personnes attaquées circulent de chambres en chambres

I honestly didn’t want to write a negative review, but after what happened (and especially after how management handled it) I feel people should be warned.||When we arrived, we were told there was “quiet time” between 11 pm and 8 am. In reality, that was a joke. Staff and guests partied, shouted, smoked weed, and drank until 4 am every night. One morning someone even vomited in their bed, not exactly the peaceful retreat it claims to be. The property is in the middle of nowhere, with a construction site nearby. I understand the concept of being “a sanctuary from the world,” but constant noise defeats the point.||Drinking water wasn’t always available. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a long-running problem they keep saying they’ll fix but never do. There are feral cats (which I personally like), but they often jump on counters and eat guests’ leftovers. Many guests don’t clean up after themselves ( dishes piled up, food left out, and even our food boxes were moved or used by others.)||The worst part was the bites. After the first night I woke up with itchy, painful welts. At first I thought it was mosquitoes, but there weren’t any. After the second night I had even more bites. On the third night, I found a bed bug in my bed at 1 am. That was it. I grabbed my things and spent the night outside on a bench because there was no way I could sleep in that bed. People were still partying loudly while I sat there until 6 am.||In the morning, I went to reception, spoke politely to the manager, told her I was leaving due to the bed bug infestation, and asked about a refund. She told me I’d need to go through Lastminute.com, gave me €4 to wash our clothes so we wouldn’t carry bed bugs to our next hotel, and advised me on shuttle times to leave that day.||To my shock, when I requested a refund through Lastminute.com, they told me the hostel claimed they “didn’t know I left” , which is completely untrue. Not only did I tell them, but they didn’t even go to the room to deal with the infestation, nor did they warn other guests in the same room. It seems they only act when people complain, and even then, they avoid responsibility.||The only positive experience was with Facundo, who drives guests to shops and the bus station. He was polite, helpful, and saved us when we got lost.||I didn’t expect five-star service, it’s a hostel, after all, and I could tolerate the noise. But bed bugs are unacceptable anywhere, and the dishonesty about my departure is the final straw.

En resumidas cuentas, una atención deficiente, unas instalaciones en pañales y respeto y convivencia nulos. En nuestra habitación (7) encontramos la entrada llena de telas de araña, hojillas usadas en el baño, el agua de la bañera tenía renacuajos a poco que dejamos correr el agua, y lo peor de todo, hay 0 control con el ruido; supuestamente a las 23:00 se exige silencio, pero para nuestra desgracia lo ruidos no pararon hasta las 2 de la mañana (conversaciones muy altas de tono, gente corriendo, riéndose y, en general, haciendo bulla). Lo más triste de todo esto es el hecho de que, cuando comentamos lo que había sucedido con el ruido al hacer check-out recibimos un "¿Y no les dijeron nada? Bueno... Lo sentimos", en definitiva, no volveré y mucho menos lo recomiendo.

Als ervaren reizigers zijn we op zoek naar een plek om tot rust te komen na een dag van omzwervingen. De hostel is dat allesbehalve. De dronken, door testosteron gedreven, luide en met niets rekening houdende jongen mannen zijn een voortdurende bron van ergernis. Een deel van het niet-betaalde personeel doet vrolijk mee en biedt bovenstaande herrieschoppers de mogelijkheid hun muziek te versterken gedurende de dag en een heel stuk van de avond. Moest het daar bij blijven...ok. Helaas blijft het daar niet bij. De bewuste nacht waarin we het besluit namen te vertrekken verliep als volgt: Omstreeks 22u30 gaan we rustig naar onze kamer (9) om nog wat te lezen. Luide techno-muziek weerklinkt over het terras en is in die mate aanwezig in de kamer dat oordopjes van wax geen soelaas bieden. Omstreeks 23u15 heeft er iemand van het personeel het verstand de grote box af te nemen. (Er zitten op dat moment een paar zeer fijne en attente mensen in het team). So far, so good. Om 2u45 is er luid gepraat in de gang door duidelijk dronken jonge mannen in het gezelschap van beschonken giechelende dames. Het 'geroep' gaat door tot 3u30 tot wanneer ik besluit mijn warme bed te verlaten om iets te gaan zeggen. De deur van hun kamer staat wagenwijd open en halfnaakt staat de beschonken heer over een jonge vrouw. Ik treed niet in detail. Ik krijg een agressieve reactie maar het geluid ebt weg en ik hervat de slaap. Om 4u45 echter staat de betrokken jongeheer weer voor zijn eigen kamerdeur luid te kloppen om binnen te geraken. Ik vermoed dat zijn kompaan dan toch in comateuze toestand in slaap is gevallen. Het kloppen gaat geruime tijd door. Om 8u sta ik, na een uur of 5 quasi slapen, op en zie de jonge man zijn roes uitslapen op een bankje op het terras. Marginaal. Bij het neerleggen van onze klacht aan het onthaal krijgen we de ingestudeerde 'Yes, I understand' en een portie geveinsde empathie. We besluiten, omdat slaap belangrijk is en waarvoor een hostel uiteindelijk ook dient, na 3 verschrikkelijke nachten met een soortgelijk scenario, het hostel te verlaten. We zouden nog 4 nachten gebleven zijn anders. Bij het lezen van de andere negatieve reviews lees ik vergelijkbare verhalen. Uit ons contact met booking blijkt dat onze 4 nachten niet terugbetaald zullen worden. Bovendien zijn we op zoek moeten gaan naar een ander verblijf. Dit is niet de beloofde co-living, co-working oase van rust. In tegendeel. Door het feit dat we geen refund krijgen, de verhuurder duidelijk in gebreke is en dat de enkele sympathieke medewerkers die er gratis werken gedurende 25 uur per week, kan ik enkel besluiten dat de eigenaar dit enkel doet ui geldgewin. Geloof bijgevolg niets van de Salespitch en blijf hier ver vandaan. Wij blijven in gesprek met booking.com om eventueel toch nog wat geld terug te zien.

My stay at The Tree House Hostel was an absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, with guests from all over the world creating a lively and international vibe. It's important to note that only card payments are accepted for room bookings, while cash is needed for the bar and other expenses. The hostel also provides a shuttle service to the nearest town for shopping, which is convenient as the nearest store is about a 20-minute walk away. One downside is the noise from airplanes, as it's close to the flight path. Additionally, if you're sensitive to noise, you might be bothered by the loud music played for many hours during the day, and this hostel may not be suitable for kids. Highlights: there are plenty of communal activities like surfing trips and BBQ nights, which enhance the social experience. Lastly, the hostel offers work-friendly spaces with free Wi-Fi, making it a good option for remote work. Overall, I absolutely loved staying here and highly recommend it!

The hostel is located in a remote area; about 6 km from the airport and about 3 km from San Isidro but the distance is no walkable as there is only a highway. The property has a great and spacious common yard with a swimming pool and a nice view. Fully-equipped kitchen is available; despite that the personnel keep cleaning on a daily basid, the guests do not clean afrer themselves and in the mornings is a mess. There is a common working space where you are supposed to be able to work. The bedrooms are spacious enough; beds and pillows are comfortable. Personnel is friendly and helpful There is a free ride from the hostel to the nearest village where there are numerous grocery stores; Cons: The internet is extremely slow, and at times even non-existent, so working is barely possible. In our bedroom there was no hot water As the rooms are located around the yard, it is rather noisy and sleeping is difficult Locationwise, I do not recommend it to anyone who will not rent a car as you will be basically stuck there.

I was at The Tree House solely for the co-working space offer. The arrangements made in advance for a possible booking were very friendly and good. Unfortunately, the co-working space did not turn out to be what I expected based on the description. The space itself is unfortunately not furnished to a high standard, there is no possibility of “retreat” e.g. for important calls or the room provided for this purpose was completely occupied and locked and used like a private room by the person who completely occupied the room. Overall, there was little to no working atmosphere, young men in swimming trunks, loud music, vacation atmosphere. All perfectly ok if it's not co-working. Concentrated work was absolutely not possible. For the sake of completeness, I would also like to point out that the wi-fi was not stable. All in all, an absolute failure. No recommendation.

Mi dispiace molto fare questo tipo di recensione ma la mia esperienza non è stata positiva. Aggiungo qualche informazione non presente sul sito in modo chiaro perché potrebbe essere utile. - l’ostello è posizionato in un luogo difficilmente raggiungibile se non con la macchina, è presente un servizio di navetta con orari non comodissimi - Nell’ostello non è presente un bar che fa anche servizio cucina quindi conviene portare cose per cucinare Riguardo all’esperienza generale la struttura è molto tranquilla e abbastanza pulita anche se fatiscente. Ho purtroppo avuto un’esperienza negativa anche per quanto riguarda il servizio di navetta verso l’aeroporto che, se fuori orario, fa pagare per cinque minuti di tragitto 15 euro. Nel mio caso, anche se mi era stata comunicata il giorno prima la possibilità di pagare elettronicamente, al momento del passaggio mi è stato comunicato in modo molto polemico che avrei dovuto pagare in contanti. Non avendoli mi hanno portata ad un bancomat e fatto prelevare (ho rischiato di perdere l’aereo). La mia esperienza generale non è stata il massimo ma può essere che abbia avuto sfortuna visti i numerosi feedback positivi.

So I booked a place at this hostel last minute since I'm already travelling around Spain. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency and was rushed by an ambulance to the hospital. Doctors said I need to be repatriated with a medical escort so that's how serious my condition is. I sent a message to this property and explained the situation. Unfortunately, they didn't want to refund my money since it's just about an hour or 2 away from the 48 hours free cancellation. They even told me that if I leave a comment which is defamation in their opinion, would not be appreciated but their future customers. The reason reviews are created is to educate future clients about their experiences in a property. Everything I said are facts and not a form of defamation in any way. I just with the owner of this small family business won't suffer from any life threatening condition anytime soon and no one will be kind enough to help them because of their greed. Stay away from this property! If you encounter any issues, especially emergencies that are life-threatening, they won't even care or worry about you. They just want your money

Really nice hostel, in a quiet chill location. Having a car on the island in general seems like a good idea, and the free parking is super handy. It is a little tricky to find at first, but you will get a good describtion of the exact location. It's a good standard hostel concerning cleaniness and noise - it is a hostel after all and if you don't know this before going, well that is not their fault. Nice social vibes too, espacially travelling as a solo woman. If I come back to the island I will stay here again :)

The building itself was good and the layout was amazing and supplied Wi-Fi, beds were comfortable enough for short term, they had a WhatsApp group for the car shuttle into places The staff were brilliant and spoke English which helped me The location was terrible, middle of nowhere it’s not walkable into the town or anything! The road is paved down so far then stops into a dirt road! They did put a shuttle service on into the nearby village, the actual bus service was cheap enough to go into the main tourist area and airport!

By far the best hostel in El Médano. A wonderful terrace with pool and ocean view, great staff and a friendly atmosphere. Activities and common dinners are organised every other day and make a great opportunity to find friends for the stay. A well equipped and spacious kitchen invites to cook together and spend the evening. Other amenities are great too. Even an outdoor gym is available and there is enough space to care for surfing or kiting equipment. The location is a little bit away from the town centre though. Anyways, this makes for a closer community with the other guests and easy onsite parking. The shuttle van will take you to the surrounding areas if you don’t have your own car. Highly recommend to stay here if you are in Tenerife!

The best hostel ever! If you’re travelling solo this is the perfect place to go. It’s up a hill out of El Médano, but it offers great value, amazing views, with even better people and atmosphere. After only 5 days, I almost cried when I left. There is also a quiet beach in walking distance (20/30 mins), that is perfect for day/evening chilling.

I recently stayed at Tree House Hostel, attracted by the promise of a co-living and co-working experience in a tranquil location. While the hostel does have some positive aspects, there were notable discrepancies between the advertised concept and the actual experience. Positives: Scenic Location- The hostel is situated in a charming, out-of-the-way location with a nice pool and outdoor space, providing a serene environment. Areas for Improvement Misleading Co-Working Concept- The primary reason for my choice was the co-working aspect, but the reality fell short of expectations. The two designated workspaces were consistently noisy, no private space to take calls (as advertised) and unfortunately, there seemed to be a misalignment in conveying the co-working concept among both workers and volunteers present. Lack of Amenities- The advertised audio/visual equipment for hire was not available during my stay. Additionally, they advertise access to free drinking water, however the water filter was broken, leading to a constant shortage of drinking water, a crucial amenity that was highlighted in the hostel's offerings. The workers would arrange to go get bottles, but there were many points in the day when there was shortage. Missing Perks- The absence of complimentary coffee (as advertised), as well as the promised activities, detracted from the overall experience. These were important features for someone seeking a co-living environment, and their absence was disappointing. Hygiene Concerns- The cleanliness of the hostel was subpar, and while the volunteers were amiable, there seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm or commitment to ensuring a clean and comfortable space for guests. Organizational Issues- The hostel appeared to lack organization and team communication, both in terms of managing expectations and offering a consistent experience. This was evident in the miscommunication regarding the co-working facilities and the overall lack of structure in providing the promised activities. Conclusion- Tree House Hostel has the potential to be a fantastic retreat, but it is essential for the team to reevaluate and redefine their concept. Consistency in communication and expectations among staff, volunteers, and guests is crucial for a successful co-living and co-working space. While the volunteers were friendly, their commitment to providing a well-maintained environment seemed to be lacking. I brought my concerns to the attention of the manager during my stay. There appeared to be a lack of interest in finding compromise or solutions to address the issues I raised. Despite highlighting the challenges, there was no offer of a refund, which I found disappointing, especially given my decision to cut my stay short due to the unmet expectations and inability to carry out my work tasks at the hostel as intended. In response to my concerns about the noisy, interrupted co-working spaces, the management did attempt a makeshift solution by providing an old screen for my work area. While this was appreciated, the promised efforts to reduce noise in the co-working spaces did not yield significant improvement. Consequently, I found it necessary to depart earlier than planned, impacting both my work and overall experience. I hope this feedback serves as constructive criticism to help Tree House Hostel improve its offerings and provide a more accurate representation of what guests can expect.

This hostel is all about making money. They will try to get money from you wherever they can, while you already pay top price for a bed. The showers were disgusting and full of half empty bottles, the duvets had a weird smell (and my friend's sheets had stains on them). Every morning you're woken up by either by people jumping on the roof (yoga?) or the construction work going on next door. The staff wasn't very friendly either, especially the American girl. (Except Andrew, he's lovely). I wouldn't stay here again. The walk into town isn't worth it, too far.

Upon arriving in Tenerife two months ago, my plan was to move around various hostels and experience different facets of the island. However, after a few days at Tree House, I told myself, "Okay, I would never find a place like this for the same price anywhere on the island." And here I am, in my second month of staying... classic and routine life seems long forgotten right now... what a dream! Rating: 5/5 P.S.: The staff is amazing, and there are plenty of volunteers with different roles and skills. They keep the inner core of the hostel always alive and vibrant!

I was quite disappointed especially regarding the good reviews. The hostel’s facilities are quite old and the place is not made with love or eye for detail. It just provides the bear minimum. Also it is in the middle of nowhere. A few things they could improve. - The towels were very dirty and old - The kitchen should be updated, the equipment was disgusting and old - Train the staff - unmotivated and moody - Provide some basic food for sale - when we joined, there was no shuttle and we did not know that there is no supermarket/ restaurant nearby so we went very hungry to bed - clean, clean, clean! - Upgrade the “coworking space” as it is just a bunch of tables, not enough plugs, no place to take a call, again just decorated without love or ambition - Improve your shuttle booking system: No functioning security belts in the car (and you take the fast road), and the car was full many times as they did not count the bookings. Had to wait 1.5h for a pick up even though I reserved a spot - Add curtains to the room, it was either construction workers watching me or having a completely dark room

I can’t think of anything positive to say to be honest. We were all very shocked about the Hostels conditions (much different than on pictures) Co working: Just calling this coworking was an absolute joke!! There were just a few cheap ikea tables, with some uncomfortable chairs in a dark room. No pug ins, crowded and super rundown. I can’t believe people would spend a day working there! Not like in the pictures. Location: Again absolute awful. It’s located in a construction side and it takes 25 - 30 min with a shuttle to the beach as the route is under construction. There is a shuttle but most of the time it’s full so people need to spend 1-1.5h waiting for the next one (even though we booked a slot). Once we had to wait in the dark at the beach for more than an hour as the our booked slot was taken. There is nothing around so it’s quite boring. Shuttle is just available a few times a day, latest at 6:30. Taxi will costs roughly 25€. Pool: Pool Area was ok but pool is ice cold. Rooms: The double room was like the entire hostel old and run down. Again, no plug ins next to the desk (coworking?!?). One bed was ok and the other one was so old that the metal from the mattress came through. Towel were full of stains. Food & Kitchen: There is only the option for breakfast in the hostel and otherwise there is no restaurant nearby. You have to take the shuttle to the nearest supermarket to cook something in their disgusting kitchen. Staff: The staff (especially the American girl) was not that friendly as I usually experience in hostels and the entire atmosphere was not great. Overall: If you are looking for a coworking hostel, you have to keep looking. I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

Not recommended. The advertised check-in time was clearly stated as 10 PM, and we made our plans accordingly. We arrived just before 10PM, on our arrival the staff insisted on an additional 10 euros PER PERSON. Rather than acknowledging their own mistake and rectifying it, they saw fit to exploit the situation by squeezing more money out of their guests. This place gets better & better. I’ve just returned home and already booked for 4 weeks time. The staff make this a totally chilled getaway. Myself I love the big kitchen were you can prepare & cook to your hearts desire. The beds are comfy and private. Bathroom is spotless as it’s cleaned like your room daily. Wi-Fi is good and a massive pool with sun lounges. Supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away but there’s a lift there & back with 4 stores all together. There’s even lifts to the nearest beach too that I took advantage of. In a nutshell this place is magnificent and a sorry day when you have to leave.

This place is amazing. I’ve just returned from 9 days of chilling. You can arrange for an airport pick up and once your at the hostel the fun begins. The volunteers are amazing, anything you need there’s help. The beds are comfy and you have locker space under your bunk. Bathroom was clean and lush shower. Into the kitchen you have your own space for foods and there’s massive fridges for water/beer/juices. Just write your name on to stop confusion. The poolside is spacious and great views, the bar is all lit up at night and is a welcome sight after a hot day. There’s a washing machine to use and a free dryer , but you won’t need this as your clothes will dry just as easy on the line. Altogether I enjoyed every day. I loved the atmosphere in the kitchen when meals are being prepared, plus you can buy your meals if you don’t want to cook. I must admit I’m a lover of cooking but the meals they prepare look so good & healthy. I’m happy to cook what I fancy and there’s lots of space to do this. If you need groceries ? There’s a free shuttle car that can take you 3 times a day. Allowing around 40 minutes to grab the beers & munchies. Aldi/Lidl/mercadona are all together so it’s pretty cheap. The 9 days flew bye and was sad to leave. I will be back soon. Big up to the staff ! Brilliant team.

Sentimientos encontrados. El hostel está muy bien. Las zonas comunes son muy agradables, la cocina grande y todo muy limpio. Nos alojamos en habitación doble con baño privado. La cama súper cómoda, la ducha muy agradable (calentita y buena presión). La pega para nosotros fue el ruido por las noches: la música del bar (reggaeton o similar), normalmente hasta 23h00, quizás un poco más tarde, y una de las noches fiesta hasta tarde. Las habitaciones están muy mal insonorizadas, y dan al bar y a la piscina, por lo que se escucha todo. En general los huéspedes eran respetuosos, y si se quedaban charlando fuera hasta tarde no hacían mucho ruido, pero algunos de los voluntarios sí que eran ruidosos y nos despertaron varias veces a las 4am (y eso que dormíamos todos los días con tapones). En nuestra opinión, podría ser de 10 si se cuidasen estos detalles, y si el personal voluntario fuese un poco más profesional.

After arrival l was very happy as the staff is rather easy-going and supportive, the apartment was rather fine (though the floors were in dirt and dust) and the location seemed to be quite nice. Too bad- no air condition or fan. The following pool party until early morning made it impossible to relax or to sleep. After the party, surrounding dogs started their concert of howling and barking. So if anybody is looking for a calm and quiet stay l wouldn't recommend this place at all. Too bad my Canaria experience had to end like this.

The Tree House Hostel is a very lovely and recommendable place in the south of Tenerife on a hillside close to El Medano. It’s located in the middle of the desert in peaceful calm with a beautiful view on the ocean. The outside community area is huge and comfy and welcomes all guests to connect, relax, take a swim in the pool, take some sun or read a book. Many nice spots to sit together and enjoy. It’s a family business with a very friendly and always ready to help management improving the place and the comfort of the guests by any chance. There is a group of volunteers in the hostel – young people who take care of the place and offer workshops like workouts, yoga, massages etc. They bring the life to the hostel, keep it vivid and form a community which makes it easy to connect and feel comfortable in. The beds in the dorms have curtains which feels like a personal cabin and gives privacy. Mattresses and pillows are of good quality and back-friendly. The privat rooms are very nicely furnished and cozy. The hostel has two coworking spaces for digital nomads to keep on in business in a nice atmosphere. The guys at the bar are the best :)) Happy Hour every night and from time to time a nice barbecue. Solo traveler, nature and adventure lovers or just for some time out to relax – if you visit Tenerife the Tree House Hostel is definitely worth a visit and the address for your stay.

Et sinon a pieds vers la plage la plus proche (la Jacquita) c’est pas si loin. Et encore une petite ballade et on est à El Medano. One of the best co-living spaces in Tenerife! Location This co-living is located a few kilometers from the city of El Medano, which is a small traditional city (no big hotels or casinos here) . You will find plenty of local restaurants and bars long the shore line . El Medano is known for its two beaches and the practice of paddle and kite surf. It has a great jogging trail and many groups practice yoga in front of the beach at around 6pm (you can find these groups on social media). How to get there This co-living is 5 minutes’ drive from the Southern airport but coming by feet is impractical (unless you really like to hike). The best way to arrive at the co-living is to take their own van service from Southern Airport. If you arrive at the Northern Airport, there is a direct bus line (+-42 mins) towards Southern Airport that is quite easy (it costs 8€ a single ride). The Surroundings The tree House Hostel is located on a hill with view on the sea (see my pictures). It is almost completely surrounded by nature. Because of that, you can sometimes be woken up by birds or goats that live in biological farms close by. If you have a light sleep and nature sounds disturbs you, some earplugs might be helpful. The Space This co-living is like a renovated hacienda where life is articulated around the main court which contains many sitting/working spaces (see my pictures) . It has a small artificial beach with view on the hills, a private bar and many poufs to sit on. There are many areas for socializing and meet people. The pool is right next to the central courtyard and is fairly big. It is naturally warmed so expect refreshing bath’s until mid-march. The amenities This place has a large fully equipped shared kitchen equipped with ovens, microwave oven, heaters and industrial fridges. It also has a (paying) large washing machine and dryer. The Room I have stayed in a private room which was fairly big with a double bed and a great natural desk (see pictures). My room had large bathroom with a shower . The internet connection The internet connection comes from a network of 4G re-routers that cover the whole property. The connection was super stable . I tested the speed and it was 15-20mps download and 3 mps upload (see pic enclosed). My work as an ecommerce entrepreneur does not involve constant upload/download from the cloud and I could do everything I wanted from here. Advice : if internet is super important to you, bring your personal 4/5 G wireless router that you will use with a local sim card. In Conclusion If you are a party animal looking for a base from which to rest in between your sessions, this is not the best place, I would recommend a flat in Los Americas beach. This place is however extraordinary if you want to find a base where to work and mingle with people from all the horizons. You will get enough personal space for doing your work but in the same time have great opportunities for socializing & drinks after-work and find great friends to visit around. Don’t hesitate one second, this place will be with you even once you have left.
